Re: Now Miley is attacking Mariah (66,760) (66,767)
by Dennis from Miami, FL

There was a post 66,519 from Letters From Adi with Bling Gossip article link one week ago. I hoped it was not about Mariah. But who cares about Miley's opinion? Long time ago I've read in one article that people only either adore Mariah, or hate her. There is no in between. Anyway. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Miley knows it better than anyone.

Miley Cyrus on Mariah Carey (66,766)
by Malcolm from Asia
| |
|
|
Again, this is an example of what this generation thinks about Mariah. Her worsening antics are just overshadowing her talent even more. They just perceives her as Mariah the "diva" and not the singer-songwriter anymore. For Miley to have the guts to say "I've never really been a fan" and Demi's "unnecessarily rude" remark are quite disappointing and damaging on Mariah's legacy because instead of them paying respect that she deserves as a legend on music industry, they are just throwing remarks about her just like that. Her image and talent weren't connecting entirely for a long time ago now, but this time it's much more worse.

Re: Babydoll nuances (66,751) (66,765)

What I love about MC's music is, nearly 20 years after first listening to Babydoll, and playing that song literally thousands of times, I still discover new things about it which breathe new life into the song (not that it ever got old). It's happened too many times to mention, but her level of detail to her music is astounding. I remember flipping out when finding out, again only last year, that there are "hidden" whistle register notes going on during the bridge of AIWFCIY.

Seriously Mariah, please forgive Walter Affansieff (66,764)
by Bobby A from United States

I just finished listening to Music Box and Daydream. Wow, what a beautiful time for Mariah when she wrote with Walter A. I really do wish Mariah would record again with him soon. She needs to take us back with her next album by collaborating with Walter A again. Those two made such beautiful music together. We should on September 30 petition Mariah to give us lambily a Mariah and Walter A. collaboration again. It would be nice if her next album had collaborations by Walter Affansieff, Ryan Tedder, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Babyface, The Weekend, Drumma Boy, Miguel, Timbaland, Maxwell, Big Jim Wright, and Daryl Simmons. Mariah needs to revisit the old Mariah on her next album. Give us the Mariah that everybody fell in love with. More Rnb and Pop ballads and less Hip Hop. More vocal moments and less rap collaborations. More emotional ballads and less Jermaine Dupri. If JD says "Y'all know what this is" one more time on a new Mariah song, I am going to tell him he needs to stop it. Lol.

MC on MC (66,763)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So Miley Cyrus has said some pretty heavy things about Mariah Carey, to quote her, she said "I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick; I can see through that. That's part of what makes her a gay icon; like, it's about Mimi. It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her. What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying." First of all, as a fan of Mariah's music, I'll say not everything about Mariah is shallow and decorative. If anyone denies her the credit of being one of the greatest songwriters with lyrics that are real, deep and meaningful, then I would just tell them to actually go and listen to her "real catalogue" of "real songs" and not just listen to the hits like TMB and "Obsessed" and things of that nature and thinking that's all she write. No, I don't think these songs are bad, in fact I love and enjoy them but judging Mariah's songwriting based on these songs is not right. Go listen to "Outside", "Looking In", "Petals", ATYNAF, "Butterfly", "Love Takes Times" and songs like that to really see her deep side, her songwriting expertise and how she's a genius musician and is million times better than anything Miley has ever written or will write. Case in point "Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz". So Mariah isn't real because she didn't write a song about her dead pet goldfish? Boo-hoo. She wrote "Bye Bye" with Jack in mind (among other people close to her) so Miley what's good? I do admire that Miley keeps it real most of the time, her friend circle does not include famous faces for publicity like Taylor, she has some good songs, she voices her opinion about things she is passionate about, she does a lot of charity work, but it would be far fetched to say she doesn't pull stunts. Stripping off and sexually assault Robin Thicke on stage for shock value, wearing a grotesque costume shaped like genitalia, swinging naked on a wrecking ball for views are all stunts. So she isn't really in the position to call Mariah out. But some things she said unfortunately what the GP, including some lambs now think about her. And Mariah is partly to blame for this with all the stunts, the over the top diva act among other things. She is pure, real talent, she doesn't need to drop to this level yet she does. All these take away from her music. Her celebrity/diva status completely overshadows her talent nowadays. It's sad really that this is what the current generation thinks of her and so they don't even bother testing her music or else if they did, they'd be in love with her because her music is something she never disappoints me with. It's always magical.

Re: Mariah's meet and greet disaster-nadia (66,757) (66,762)

I don't get it, all I'm hearing is he got banned because he crossed the line but what did he actually do? I genuinely want to know. If there's a security concern I get why they'd not let her near Mariah, in fact that's how it should be but cancelling the rest for this is a bit extreme because Mariah said it herself that people from all over the world come to see her in Vegas (which means local/international air tickets, hotel/food expenses, the ticket itself). Now let me get this straight, I don't mean in any way that just because people paid so much money to see so she is bound to give them what they want. I am completely in favor of her thinking about her security first before anything else because let's be real some fans are so obsessed they can prove to me really dangerous for the stars they adore (case in point John Lennon, Christina Grimme, Selena Quintanilla, Sandra Bullock, Gwyneth Paltrow). So I would not take security concerns lightly at all if the security thought he was dangerous for Mariah. Better to cancel and refund instead of going ahead and risking it out. But if it was something small like say the fan demanding extra time because he spent money for this or that he was impolite towards her security then they could have just escorted him out and moved on with the rest. Anyways, I still want to know what happened. Did he try to get physically aggressive or verbally? I mean it seems unlikely because Mariah did post a picture of her hugging him before on her instagram, this is the guy right? Someone on this board mentioned they asked him to make a doll for Mariah and also that Mariah knows him and frequently gives him shout-outs from the stage, so I'm a little confused how it went down.

Imperfect (66,761)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|

Here is the only receipt I can find for Mariah and Nick co writing a song together. I recall it was for Imperfect although the article referenced is in French. I recall hearing about this on the old MDJ when Imperfect "leaked". I really wonder why they shut that site down. So thankful for MCA. Perez used to have a field day dissing Mariah and Nick, along with so many other sites. Well now Mariah has the Daily Mail.

Now Miley is attacking Mariah (66,760)

Miley also explains a comment she made to a contestant about how not everyone can be Mariah Carey. She said "I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick; I can see through that." According to Miley, what makes her different from the "elusive chanteuse" is Mariah has always been "about what she's wearing, and it's about her. What I make isn't about me. It's about sharing my story; it's about someone being connected to what I'm saying."

If the cancellation were in response to some real or perceived threat they will never announce that, they just act accordingly. All people can do is wait until she is ready for that kind of thing again.

True. I believe it was the song that was deemed too R&B for Music Box. If they had to stick to the 10-song tracklist, it and Everything Fades Away could have replaced Just To Hold You Once Again and All I've Ever Wanted (nothing against those songs, but they're just too similar, and the title track already had that tranquil ballad slot down pat) and would have made Music Box a much more varied, stronger album stylistically.

I still don't believe him breaking a rule is enough to be the reason for all meet and greets getting cancelled. All she has to do is ban him from coming back and keep it moving if it was really that big of an issue. It's not adding up why every other lamb would have to get punished moving forward. I feel like the meet and greets got cancelled for something deeper than that.

Let's all support song. I'm not saying let's all aim that 19th #1 again, because honestly for now, I'm happy for her to just crack the top 20 or top 40 because it'll be a good introduction for the upcoming singles/album. So yeah, let's all purchase the song on iTunes or stream it on Spotify.

Nick is the creator, host, and producer of this series so why does he allow Mariah to be mentioned? Why hasn't (and why didn't) he made if clear that she's off limits. He's painfully unfunny. I cringe every time he opens his mouth.

Thank you for replying. I noticed because I listened to Ring My Bell earlier in the day and then when playing through Butterfly later it went straight into my brain because Mariah sang that line in the same melody. It's cool because it links back to her checking her phone at the beginning of the phone.

You love UOMF? I skip it everytime. It sounds like something Nick Cannon wrote. Lol. And yeah I love Imperfect too. I feel like with that album, she should've worked with more producers instead of just the Dream and Tricky. Speaking of producers and music production, I want something from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis but an updated sound, Dark Child, Hit Boy, Kanye West, Mike Will and more Jermaine Dupri without any hollering whatsoever. Then a little trap jam, hit Metro boomin for that.

That's one of my favorites from the Butterfly album. Yes she does say you can ring my bell. As many times as I've listened to that song I never caught that. The only thing I really caught with this song is that Missy Elliott produced it.

I know nothing about that "fan" but when he is so sweet, why is be "banned" from the meet and greet? And why was that one completely canceled? I'm not jealous but what I read sounds strange. And I really feel for the fans who were disappointed because of cancelling.

If Mariah/her team will just post photos like this, or this, or this instead of that disastrous and shameful editing (excuse the cuteness of the twins), it could've been better and beautiful for her social media accounts.
