Ya I think it would be such a great PR stunt, and lambs can spare me the "MC doesn't need PR stunts, she's above that", because lately she has been pulling a lot of random PR stunts either ways. So yes it would be great if they'd just do it and get it over with. Also this paves the way for the next #1 song "I don't know her (she's forgetful remix) featuring Jennifer Lopez".

The only lines that Mariah lipped in the My All performance is the "I'd give my all to have", other than that, nothing is lipped. The E5 there is pretty chesty, raspy and tight but we're getting to something. Are you kidding when you say you don't believe that she still did live full voice belts? Because it's actually pretty easy to distinguish the pre-record and the live vocals, they have different qualities. Mariah so far is able to get that heavenly resonance up to D5 and support up to Eb5 live. But most of the notes above Eb5/E5 are lipped, like the one in IDWC.

There's a big difference between the image Mariah projects now and what she projected during the Butterfly era, Rainbow era and TEOM era. Butterfly era, you could tell that she's truly emancipated, she's effortlessly sexy and is still so sweet and down-to-earth. Sultry. Rainbow era was pretty much the same, yet Mariah was really playful that era. TEOM era Mariah had confidence in spades, like she was on top of her game. This era? Those ass pics and all the awkward pics all scream desperation to stay "lit" like the younger generation of artists. She doesn't exude sexiness, she exudes this aura of "look at me, look at me". Beyonce wears those kinds of leotards too but compare her Instagram page to Mariah's. Beyonce's Instagram is exactly what Mariah's Instagram should channel. Classy and sexy yet elegant.

Jlo and Mariah were to present? lol (65,752)

Never happens. Mariah and Whitney had a song to promote. Mariah and JLo should not even be mentioned in the same universe. JLo [censored] Puff Daddy who produced her first single and video story board. She's a harlot. Mariah Carey at 21 was a Grammy Award winning singer.

I wish it would have happened. They could have made it a funny skit like how she and Whitney did with them allegedly wearing the same dress (I believe it was the Emmy awards). This would have been a perfect opportunity to lay this pettiness to rest once and for all and show that you are better than what the media and non fans think. Even if the sentiment behind accepting the job was fake, it would have been a great PR move. If it's true I'm not surprised Mariah and her team refused.

She's lipped so much I never believe when she hits any full voice belt notes anymore but if I'm wrong and that was all her, I hope she is able to turn it on for American television because for some reason, when she is performing at an awards show, a late night show or whatever, a fairy butterfly seems to get stuck in her throat during verses so she struggles and yet glittery angels and wizards backstage make her sound amazing on the high ad libs on the last hooks of her songs. This is probably why her last few American television appearances have been sit downs only. Imagine. A singer who does a sit down only.

I interrupt the regular scheduled program of negativity and Mariah bashing (not judging, just calling it as I see it) to continue the My All series/postings. Revealing Vegas promo pics, photo shop booties, bralettes, none of it really matters to me as much as Mariah working on her live vocals. Its her day job these days and should really be one of her only concerns regardless if she is standing there in some questionable outfit. Here is Mariah attempting to reach old notes by the 3rd day of the latest leg. Resting her voice was never what she needed. She needed to get out there and perform consistently.

MTV (65,745)

Can someone explain what I've been reading about MTV wanting to have JLo and Mariah present some award together? Was it for the VMAs? Apparently JLo's team was down with it but Mariah refused. I think they should just go ahead and squash this beef. I mean Mariah has nothing to lose, in fact despite the JLo issue, Mariah still managed to get a hugely successful career. Everyone will forever know Mariah is the legend, so if I was Mariah, I'd just be like let's do this. Had Mariah been unable to make a comeback after "Glitter", I'd understand the resentment. But Mariah, you came back bigger and greater. You have nothing to lose from this. In fact it might get her even more positive press. But ya I still need an explanation on this MTV thing. I didn't understand what it's about. I just read about it on UKMix.

Hollywood is sick and full of rich entitled buttholes, so what is new? The only thing these videos do are get people bothered and distracted doing "research" that leads to no where. You or I could make a video and place all kinds of hints and signs and symbols and we would be no closer to the truth than this female who made the video is. It's like pulp fiction, and yet another way for people to capitalize on the fame of the most famous "stars". Of course there are networks of people in any industry, some more deviant than others, that seems to be the nature of cliques, cults, gangs you name it. Whatever is up in Hollyweird, they are all in it and some deeper and higher than others, but make no mistake ain't nobody really talking about it and these little YouTube "prophets" probably no the least. IMO. As always, I hope M. and her kids come out ok on the other side of whatever. Follow the money.

I totally agree with you. I think that's what she has in mind for the future. Remember that she started as a session singer, sang with jazz musicians at her home when she was a little girl. I wouldn't be surprised. Plus she has written and recorded at least a jazzy/funky/70's soul song for each album she has ever put out (plus the B-sides): Vanishing, The Wind, Do You Think Of Me (kinda of jazzy IMO, though not pure jazz), Underneath The Stars, Outside, All My Life, Subtle Invitation and There Goes My Heart, Mine Again, Fly Like A Bird, Sprung, I Wish You Well (although very much a gospel song), one could argue that her cover of George Michael is sung with a jazz technique/approach. Yours is another one with strong jazz influence although very much an RnB gem. Make It Look Good is very doo-wop, which has a strong connection with jazz. Don't forget the jazz classics she has sung in clubs and on stage. Anyway, to me Mariah has always been jazz. Oh and the songs I've listed are basically some of my favourites of hers.

Conspiracy theories are a haven for people too thick to engage with and learn about the real world so they retreat into pathetic fantasies which deserve about as much respect as the shit on my shoe. Then they shove that shit down everyone else's throats as if it even forms a basis for intelligent discourse. [censored] You know all the "crazy people" you hear people talking about? Syoo, honey.

Mariah had left the pop-world when she released "Honey". At that time it was very normal to show as much as possible in music videos. It was not "normal" for a person of her league to do it, but the "naked" ladies was all over in the videos. She was more classy back then while she is not near that definition today. Sadly, because she got all the money that could help her become a style icon, but she choose the white trash style.

If Vegas is the reason she plays the "showgirl" I can't wait for her next image. A classic jazz-lady would be perfect. Or Mariah the musician. Wouldn't it be real "shocking" for the media?

Mine Again isn't a 90's throwback, it's a throwback to the 1970's and The Neptunes produced only two of the songs on this album one of which is the only song on the album that I skip.

No prob, feel free to share your thoughts. I believe you're not wrong, per say, nore am I wrong either. Just consider that, at the time, Mariah's image in 1997 was considered hyper trashy and wild. It's all a matter of perspective. In Honey, Mariah looks like she's naked when she comes out of the pool, totally done on purpose. No one did that at the time (in the pop world).

Vegas can be tricky (65,730)
by Edouard from France

For those who have been complaining about Mariah's attitude in term of dress code lately, I thought about it and I think Mariah has always played with codes. right from the start: girl next door, old maid/married woman, sexy kitten, o' naturel, girly pop, barbie doll, Hollywood, "basic chic". I believe the only way to make the Vegas residency relevant in terms of image is to play the showgirl. If she played it "seriously" it would really age her and make her irrelevant. Celine Dion hasn't had a hit on radio since she started her residency. She has a lot of success as a show stopper. But Mariah is a radio fanatic, she makes record, from start to finish. Performing is not her main plateform although it has clearly grown on her. I think most artists (most people actually) need to find a way to make things bareable when they don't necessarly want to do something at first. We all know Mariah would rather be in the studio than in Vegas, just like before. But the industry has changed and she's smart. So she does it, clearly enjoys it. But on condition that she's playing with her image, not take herself too seriously. She does it because she wants to make other albums in the future, for herself (she's an artist) and for us. And I'm honored.

Lol, Debbie is friend to both of them, but probably first to Mariah, but sounded like she told it about both. She is a handful. She is even more so now though with his twin plants lol and with it now being styled by the Kartrashians, "Butterfly" gonna need some university and hopefully not hospital in a minute. And yes Licia, he was telling the truth. He is getting lots of positive feedback because of it too. I would think with his life experiences he would be able to have a few years knocked off of his program though.
