Thank you, I was trying to figure out what was making it look awkward. She does look beautiful though.

It's even one of the hardest song to sing, ever. Lol. Tbh only Mariah could breathe life to Emotions, I think I've said it before in one of my posts. Other technically gifted singers maybe could hit the notes, but they just sound like shouting (i.e. Ariana Grande). Mariah makes Emotions the song it is and nobody else could touch her version. It's like how Whitney made I Will Always Love You the song it is and nobody could touch her version. Those are testaments to how ridiculously talented both singers are.

Stacked vocals (65,376)
by RibbonB from USA

Mariah has really mastered the stacked, multi layered vocals and I do love them on record. She could learn from the O.G. stacked vocal diva herself, Miss Chaka Khan. Chaka was one of the first to do her own background vocals on record and she has some excellent examples from as far back as the seventies. But Chaka also had a keen ear for selecting some of the best background vocalists in the game who could support her on stage. Voices like Vesta, Angie Stone, Helen Baylor who are vocal power houses aptly supported her on her amazing songs and made Chaka one of the best acts to see live, when she wasn't high. Lol. I think Mariah shortchanges her material by using backing tracks and not arranging her songs for best use of BG vocalists on stage. I also think she uses far too many dancers etc. to get her songs accross. But she does what works for her. Most of the real singing divas don't use dancers. Chaka also had the advantage of starting out with a stellar band too though.

Mariah has always layered her vocals, especially background vocals, which can't be replicated live. Which is why she uses a backing track and people think she just lips. I think she should removed the layered vocals for live performances.

So this is the banned billboard? Totally not what I was expecting. I'm not shocked at all. The article made it seem like it was a porn ad. She looks strange on the face, but other than that I don't see what the issue is. This billboard is actually tame compared to alot of other pics she's put out.

I love the new billboard cover. There are few times were she gets tastefully sexy right and she did just enough here. It looks like an album cover. Way better than the MIAM cover. Very Never Too Far single cover. Marissa, the uncomfortable feeling you get is because of the unnatural pose. No one lays with their hand wrapped around their head, that is, unless you are Mariah. I love Bette Midler's response to the billboard ban. Lol. She was on JP's boat with Mariah not to long ago.

Mariah has some of the hardest songs to sing. Any song from Mariah Carey and Emotions are the hardest. The layered vocals also make her newer songs hard to sing.

The picture in itself isn't bad. Mariah has had racier ones. I mean her pregnancy shoot alone can put this to shame. The one with Nick grabbing her boobs haha. I think she looks good in it and they kept her normal size, didn't shrink her, which is good, but I don't find this relevant to her Vegas show. This is something I'd expect for a magazine shoot, a promo for her next album or whatever. I just don't see how this "advertises" her Vegas stint. She looks very much like "Glitter" era Mariah here.

Exactly, the first and third ensembles would look great on her. I also still love that red dress she wore the night she had dinner with Jermaine.

Emotions (65,366)

Is Mariah's hardest song to sing in my opinion. I try and keep up but end up winded and exhausted. I just can't do it lol. Not even Mariah herself can sing "Emotions" anymore and I can't blame her. It's vocal suicide. The whole "Emotions" album is an impressive piece of work. She was really ahead of herself as a songwriter and producer. I think with her current voice she could sing "The wind" and wow us all.

The mystery of the thief who pissed Mariah off intrigues me to this very day. I really want to do who did it and what the idea was and if they got a lot of success from it, like in the case of JLo.

If and when she does a standards album I hope she covers R&B classics by Stevie Wonder, Bobby Womack, Aretha, Dionne Warwick, and Donny Hathaway. I also want a gospel album with traditional hymns and originals like FLAB and I Am Free.

Excellent point. I was just speculating. I hope if (when) she re-releases Mariah Carey she includes the demos and adds liner notes like she did for #1 To Infinty.

My bad. She cowrote lyrics with Diane Warren during the Rainbow sessions. CTTA (Mariah's Theme), After Tonight, and There For Me were written by Mariah and Warren. Those are three of her best ballads. I can't wait to hear the song they wrote together. I want lyrics like The Roof, Breakdown, Close My Eyes, and Underneath The Stars. Mariah's pen game is strong. She really doesn't need help with lyrics.

I hope Mariah uses this docuseries to prove to the public that she can still sing. I want to see her rehearsing and performing. Airing this docuseries in December is a smart decision. Mariah is the queen of December. If she retried today she'd still own December thanks to AIWFCIY and Merry Christmas.

I don't like it either but it's fine if it is just for this time. They might have at least zoom-out it a little bit. Yes for the nostalgia factor. It's nice if they will shoot different promo posters for the Vegas show revisiting her old styles in every era that she got #1. Imagine Mariah will wear an outfit like from the cover of TEOM, or her hairstyle mid 90's like in ABMB video, or simple tank top and jeans like in the late 90's, it would be great.

I totally agree with you. The style in those pictures was very nice and stylish. There's something about age and image (for both genders). The way she dresses now looks more like she's trying to turn some tricks at the nearest corner (sorry about that comment).

Now that I have seen the new Vegas billboard for #1 to Infinity I have to say I have seen more racier ads than this particular one. I have to say from my eyes I think MC looks great and might I add delicious. Lol.
