Re: Mariah still loves Nick (62,687) (62,695) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I also think it's so sad that Mariah and Nick separated. At the beginning I was not happy with Nick because he seemed like a kid, too young. But then Mariah was looking so happy, and seeing the lyrics in Love Story and I thought what a lovely couple, this will be the man who loves her with all his heart. And then the break-up and rumors about cheating and that Nick only wanted her money and fame. It's like a drama movie, of course we don't know what really happend or not. But I've always wanted to see Mariah happy with a man who has a heart of gold and treats her right. I don't know what to think about James Packer. Please no more drama. Sometimes it seems Mariah is heartbroken because of the divorce with Nick. She just wants true love (like most of us).

Why is Mariah nocturnal? (62,693) by Frappuccino from Australia
She said in a recent interview that going to bed at 3am is early for her. Aren't her children diurnal? I'm just wondering how it works. I'm not insulting her or anything.

Stella's daughter (62,691) by Mariah from Us
Guys am I the only one who thinks that Stella's daughter Mishka is out of control? She doesn't go to school and she's drinking/getting drunk every few days, what's up with that? Just earlier she was having a martini and she was clearly drunk when she was hanging out with dj Suss one at Serendipity, her mother tried covering her up while Mariah was on tour and she recorded her on a office chair claiming that it was "sparkling apple juice" she had in a champagne glass. What's if the media starts paying attention, and they say Mariah is getting this girl drunk? I don't know what to say about any of this mess.

Depending on the camera angle a person can look completely different in different photos. The body changes can be explained away by the fit of the dress and the use of body shaping undergarments. Pretty sure she doesn't use a body double.

Mariah would fall out if she read all the hate on this board. Allow Mariah to live her truth. Maybe Stella is allowing her to be the "real" Mariah. Maybe the person all of you worship wasn't real, just an image Tommy made up, a mixed race acceptable version of Whitney Houston.

I ship Mariah and Nick to this day. I can tell Mariah still loves him and he still loves her. Period. When I see James he doesn't matter, he doesn't exist. It's funny how we used to despise Nick but I do not clearly see, they belong together. I have fallen in love with Mariah and Nick again. It wad true love. I thnk they will get back. I hope "you make me feel like love will never end, how can I forget baby we were the best. Suffered dreams of you all through the night. And baby I can't seem to give you up you're mine."

Is there a possibility Mariah has a body double? Because apart from the right side of her face, sometimes there are some real differences in her face and body. Anything's possible right?

Re: Celine vs Aretha and Patti (62,669) (62,683) by MC1989 from Spain
Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Diana Ross, Patti Smith, Annie Lennox, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Whitney, and of course Celine and Mariah among many others belong to a league of singers who became legends. They are unique in ther fields for their different skills. I don't understand the need of bringing them face to face, the "artist versus artist" thing. They can be compared but in a good way, I'm tired of the "vs" thing. How can you say Whitney couldn't do gymnastics? Search her early performances from 1983 to 1990. Celine and Mariah have very different and ditinguished voices but especially very different styles. I love Celine and by the way, as a fan I noticed that she lip synched most part of The Show Must Go Own at the BBMA. She still has a great voice but in the past years she uses pre-recorded vocals very often, the difference with Mariah in this aspect is that Mariah doesn't know how to do playback, when Mariah lips, usually it's very obvious. When Celine does it only a few will notice. Anyway, both are two of the greatest female voices and they still sound powerful and still have an unique sound, but they are completely different.

Re: New music (62,670) (62,679) by Seth M from South Africa
I hear what you say but my concern is that Mariah is 46 years old. Putting out records when she is 50 will not make it easy to garner hits. Despite her age, she will probably still try to do sexy songs and videos like YME. If she does then the public will make a mockery of her trying to act sexy at 50. While she is still relatively young, it would be best if she can put out new music now.

Re: Celine vs Aretha and Patti (62,677) (62,678) by RibbonB from USA
Yes Aretha did. That divas live performance is simply electric and to think that the queen of soul still slayed this last December at the Kennedy Center honors for Carole King. She sang that song with all her years of soul and pain and dropped the mink coat for the show stopper. Mariah even pays homage to the queen of soul to this day as recently as WWHL. I love that about Mariah. I love to re read the NY Times review of that Divas performance, it makes one feel as if they are in that moment and even they said Mariah was the only one who could remotely perform next to the queen of soul. Lol but it's all a matter of opinion and taste, so the argument can go on and on.

Re: Celine vs Aretha and Patti (62,669) (62,677) by Bill from the UK
Aretha past her prime? Please. She ran circles around everyone that evening, including Mariah. Mariah had the sense to realise that and respectfully held back. Aretha was by far and away the best performer that night.

Credit vs. blame (62,676) by RibbonB from USA
I adore Mariah's music and I give her full credit for what her area of expertise is and that is singing. She has also developed some other side skills and I applaud her for trying other things. I notice lots of other people love to attribute her successes to other people, be it Tommy, Walter, Benny etc etc. Well Mariah does the singing, writing and the interviews for good or for bad. Now Stella wants to be in Mariah's light, but she is eclipsing it in my opinion, she is acting very parasitic. Perhaps if she spent her time doing what she should do best then I'd give her more credit. I have stated many times that Mariah must approve of things, so she will live with the consequences and the rewards. But I'm going to speak my mind, I really care about her as a person and an artist. I applaud Lee for speaking his truth too. Stella should stay in her lane. Mariah is used to being the hostest with the mostest as they say, but she has gotten hurt in the process. She is in charge, but fans can speak up. I think Stella is a parasite. But M is the host, she will pluck her off if and when she can or wants to.

Re: Stella (62,671) (62,675) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I too am glad to see a lot of people speaking out against Stella now. Previously only few of us were talking about it and then 10 people would come and slaughter us. Now people are finally seeing through this facade. I am not taking the blame off Mariah, because she should have known better but I am glad people are seeing that Stella is not all that she was hyped up to be and clearly has other agendas.

Re: The blame game (62,658) (62,673) by Marissa from USA
My issue is that Mariah does not appear to be passionate about any of the business ventures/side projects that she's taken on which makes it look like she keeps selling out for a check. Mariah is not trying to build a business empire like Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson or Kathy Ireland. She just dabbles in things, barely promotes them and never speaks of them again which makes it obvious what her motivation is. The only thing Mariah has been consistently passionate about (although it has waned lately) is music. The only side project that I think she (and the public) loved were the perfumes. Everything else just waters down her focus on what made her a legend to begin with. If she's done with music than she needs to come out and say it, but as long as she keeps saying that music is still inside her then she needs to stop contradicting herself by treating it like an afterthought.

Completely agree Licia. I feel it all does come down to Mariah in the end. And I know we can blame those around her but Mariah is the boss at the end of the day.

New music (62,670) by Giovanni from USA
Mariah definitely doesn't look focused on new music. But I'm sure she has plenty of recorded tracks by now. As much as I want a new era to start, I'd rather Mariah take all the time she needs to perfect the next album. We need a hit one not just a decent one. My hopes for the new album is for it to be another memorable masterpiece. As well as it being worthy for Grammy nominations. I know they have always robbed her, but at least having her nominated would be good enough. I have always wondered if Mariah will ever win another Grammy.

Celine vs Aretha and Patti (62,669) by Giovanni from USA
Mariah did not out sing Celine in "You make me feel like a natural women". But she out shined her with all her performances. Celine looked like a fool trying to out do a legend like Aretha Franklin. She had the advantage because Aretha was past her prime. But best believe young Aretha would easily destroy Celine. And if Patti had been there she would have shut Celine down as well. Patti was 10x the singer Celine is. Which is why in my opinion her and Mariah are the two best female voices in music history. I feel I'm counting out Whitney but Whitney could never do vocal gymnastics or high notes like Miss Labelle. Celine is in my top five best female singers of all time. But she's number five in my book.
