Article: "Abused" Mariah Carey isn't fit for reality TV (62,452) by Billy from Greece
"She is very fragile, and she has been through a lot. She has been used, she has been abused. Some people don't have that Teflon sort of thing that I do, so she masks it with this coquettish thing that is hiding her nervousness and her pain and her own family's abuse to her", Daniels said. "She is misunderstood, because she is really, really ride or die. She really, really, really will do anything for you." Maybe this will prove enlightening to certain people, or not.

Fantasy is a musical masterpiece. I love the original and all of the remixes.

Hero. It's really not a bad song but it's a bit too cheesy. Fly Like A Bird or Through The Rain felt more passionate.

Mariah and Jennifer are playing up the feud because it keeps them relevant. Mariah handled the Jennifer question well. She was honest. She admitted she knows of her but doesn't know her. She didn't throw shade at Minja she just chose not to answer the question. She's praised Beyonce and Fifth Harmony. She's only shaded Ariana but let's be honest if the media was calling someone the new you you'd be peeved too. She doesn't write or produce her music like Mariah and her voice doesn't compare to Mariah's. Don't get me started on JLo.

Flaws like the rest of us (62,448) by George Golden from UK
Why are people on here criticising Mariah's WWHL interview. I thought she was funny and on point. She sang Madonna's praises, she said she loved Beyonce and Jay-Z. Did you expect her to say something nice about Nicky Minage? Really? She said she doesn't know JLo. It's not a must that she must acknowledge her. You all need to get over yourselves and leave Mariah alone. You say you are fans yet you critic her every move. She is only human with flaws like the rest of us. The show has not aired yet some of you are branding it a failure. Really? I love her for her music and I as long as she keeps making great music, number one or not, That's all I am here for.

Mariah's World (62,447) by B from USA
Why didn't Mariah as her close friends before deciding to do this docuseries/reality show? Daniel's echoed what many of us have said. Mariah is too big of a star to do a reality show and after Idol I would've have thought she would never do it again. I'm going to wait until I've seen all eight episode before deeming the project a failure though. I think Stella is the reason she decided to do this but no releasing a new single to coincide with the premiere is a wasted opportunity. If she did so she could score a hit.

Lee Daniels (62,446) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
So Lee Daniels, who does actually know Mariah personally, and who is as far as both of them have stated, a true friend of Mariah, has echoed sentiments that not only I but a few others on this board have spoken. We who are "haters" and want to do nothing but bringing Mariah down. I stood by my points when I made them, and although unnecessary, I do feel somewhat vindicated because after being attacked with accusations, my points can now be seen as observation. And as a huge fan who has and will love Mariah forever, I do a lot of observing. It's never my intention to bring Mariah down or make her feel bad, but sometimes we do need to be questioned when we can't see that what we're doing or the road we're taking may not be good for us. "Geniuses have to be saved from themselves sometimes," said Lee Daniels. Amen to that, say I.

Slipping Away is another underrated Mariah song. It should have been included on Daydream and released as a single. I love Mariah's cover of Open Arms but it's overrated. I would have went with When I Saw You.

Heartbreaker. I prefer Loverboy.

Re: The most overrated song (62,443) by Jeff from USA
I have three: Hero, Heartbreaker, and Don't Forget About Us. (I know, I know.) Hero is inspirational for so many, but for me, I can tell that MC is tired of singing it, so I wish she could do something else. I would love to see her swap it out for something else, perhaps Close My Eyes. Heartbreaker was fun, cute, and is now ready for retirement. If we want to be festive, my vote would be for Shake It Off. Don't Forget About Us. I'm ready to forget it. I'm thinking Slipping Away would be much more enjoyable.

Mariah's World (62,441) by B from USA
While watching E News they talked with their TV insider and she said the new show is a train wreck and likened it to Mariah's infamous Cribs episode which isn't promising. The excerpt from Billboard also refers to it as a train wreck and I'm starting to worry. It won't change how I feel about Mariah but it probably won't do her any favors. Why would she call it a docuseries if it's actually a reality show? I was hoping for a classy docuseries focusing on her residency and world tour with clips from the shows but I guess we're getting Love & Hip-hop featuring rambling interviews with Mariah and Stella.

I researched Jennifer not Minja. I should have clarified that. My bad. Jennifer's showed a lot of promise as an actress in the late 90's early 2000's. She's great in romantic comedies like Maid In Manhattan. I'm not a fan of Minja and wouldn't waste my time researching her. I listen to the radio a lot and haven't heard any of her songs since Anaconda with the exception of her guest verses. I still love you, Eric.

"Do You Think Of Me" should have made it to Music Box. It's the best song of any from that era, to me. The only song that has made me cry is "We Belong Together".

I agree. I like We Belong Together but I also prefer Don't Forget About Us.

JLo has been on WWHL three times total. The very last time she was on she said she was too busy to see Mariah, but on Wendy she named everybody she saw in Vegas and mentioned not seeing Mariah because Mariah's show wasn't playing at the time. Two totally different reasons, it comes across as a bad job of lying. I can agree Mariah does over explain things and should practice shorter answers, but other than that I still enjoyed her and saw nothing worth being bothered by on Andy. She just has a huge personality. Love her or hate her there's still some people in the general public who gets it and find her funny and entertaining. I'm just hoping for Mariah's World to show everybody the multifacets of who she truly is. Then maybe just maybe everyone would be able to calm down for a change.

Lee Daniels interview on sirius FM show (62,436) by RibbonB from USA
You should listen to Lee Daniels discuss Mariah doing a reality show. He is funny but serious in saying it's a bad idea. He said sometimes geniuses need to be protected from themselves. Mariah tricked him into taping an appearance lol. He lovingly discusses his friend being vulnerable and how she masks it with the diva behavior. He clearly stated he thinks it's a bad idea, that it is bigger than Mariah. I do agree with him that we should not attack her, even as we express our feelings about this project. He was on a show called Revelations, a link is on twitter.

Her most overrated songs are "Don't Forget About Us" and "Touch My Body". Both these songs are so dull and simplistic and repeats of former hits she's had in the past ("WBT"). I really wish "Slipping Away" was apart of the Daydream album and was performed in concert. It's easily one of her best songs of all-time. Amazing lyrics and vocal compositions.

Time for a confession: I would say her most overrated song is Fantasy. I'm sorry for everbody who loves the song. I understand the song made a huge impact and combined genres, but I just don't really like the song, wheter the Bad Boy or regular version.

Re: Yes, you do know her (62,425) (62,433) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
There were no contradictory stories on Wendy and Cohen. On Cohen she was asked "whose show would you rather go to" she said "Britney because she dances". She had to pick one, she made her choice. It was a hypothetical question, she didn't go to the shows yet. On Wendy she had already gone to the shows and said she didn't go to see Mariah because of her scheduling conflicts. So where is the contradiction? As for Nicki, I can agree with you that she didn't have to compliment her but then why not just plead the fifth? Andy asked her if she wants to plead the fifth on that question and she went on a rant about how one should remain "above the fray" and not be "déclassé". If she didn't feel like answering it she has a clear option, because either ways she didn't answer so just take the plead the fifth option. She goes on these unnecessary rants (like the one about Andy being cool) and then messes up. Just give straight answers and get done with it. The extra parts are what gets her into trouble nowadays. Look I love Mariah and I love how articulate she is when writing her lyrics but her interviews are mostly messy nowadays (I said mosty, not always). She will hide her face, fix her hair, say stuff that is not required, swing around on the chair and all that. She has the power to dictate what she will and will not discuss in an interview but her projection of the over the top diva has almost completely started overshadowing her incredible talent.

They say the show is a trainwreck, I love it (62,429) by Sheila from United States
Decked out in a tiny sparkling bodysuit laced with dozens of peekaboo cut-outs, Carey played her image to the hilt while introducing her new E. docu-series, Mariah's World, during NBC Universal’s presentation. She was carried to the Radio City Music Hall stage by bare-chested hunks while lying atop a plush purple chaise. "It was symbolic of what the show is about: voyeurism and extravagant behavior," said Mediahub svp Carrie Drinkwater. "It was perfect: a train-wreck you want to watch."

Most overrated song is "Don't forget about us". I can not stand this record, I think I Stay In Love is better.

Re: The most overrated MC song and what's better (62,422) (62,427) by Licia from USA
For me it's Hero. I get why some fans can relate to the song and why they love it, but this particular song I could never relate to and it bores me (sorry not sorry lol). I wish Do Think Of Me had not been a B side and some push had been put behind that one. I love this song because it wasn't typical Mariah at that time. The song is sexy and sensual without being trashy.

Re: Media's response to WWHL (62,418) (62,426) by darrian liu from taiwan
I think that the fact "I don't know her" blew up is because the sexism in our society. Many believes that only few women are able to be on top. Therefore, everytime a new girl is rising to the top, the media will make out a feud between the newcomer and the established woman. For example, when Mariah first came out, there were a lot of feuds rumored between Whitney (the established one) and Mariah (the newcomer). The same thing came up with Madonna and Lady Gaga. JLo was a newcomer when Mariah said the quote. Mariah was already an established artist. The same happened with Mariah and Ariana. If Mariah encounters questions about JLo and others, she really should shut down the rumors and really give clarifying answers instead of answering with something that can potentially be portrayed as shady in the media.
