Mariah's new substance (57,969) by JAXGH from United States Hercules Premiere July 2014. Meaning she was moving on from Nick. (His interview was March 2014.) I guess right after that they started to actually separate. Because they were going strong still on February 2014 for "You're Mine (Eternal)". It's crazy how things have changed in a year or so. But I'm happy Mariah is in a happy place and doing her thing. Beauty business, a movie, sold out shows and new music with an extremely successful guy she deserves. And then there's Nick is posting countless dramatic quotes on Instagram making himself look "grown" while constantly following models every 5 minutes. You really realize who was the good, honest, faithful person in the relationship by who's God decided to bless more. Nick also seems to show off his kids when in actuality Mariah is the one there spending all day with them most of the time. But everything happens for a reason. New experiences, new challenges, new emotions, meaning new substance, meaning this next album is something to look forward to. It takes adversities for artists to create great body of work. I don't like saying her previous albums were uninspired but this time, the emotions, soul and artistry will be pow. To the second power. (Wednesday 25 November 2015; 6:22)

New Christmas Melody clip via EW (57,968) by CDC from CA I know we should all wait for the final product before making presumptuous critiques but I just cannot stop loling at that new clip of Mariah and Lacey Chabert in A Christmas Melody. Let us start with: This is a scene in which two people are talking. At no point in the scene does the camera pan out to a wider screen shot to show that two people are talking. Post 2000 Mariah Careymusic video requisite glamour shot compilation kinda tease. Also, does anyone else notice that the Mariah shots are little differently from the Lacey shots? Mariah's is softer, and almost glows more, and Lacey's is just... regular. Which means that Mariah either changed the lens to film herself, or her scenes were edited afterwards. I'll stop until I see the full movie but I am in tears cackling at this scene. It'll probably do well in ratings but I think its fate will at very best land in camp territory, or as a package filled with new additions to the Mariah Carey meme canon (its rightful place as a Mariah Carey vanity project). Article: Mariah Carey on the best things (57,957) by Marissa from USA I thoroughly enjoyed this interview. I like the fact that MC can admit her weaknesses (like when she was talking about how she doesn't look good in red lipstick) unlike other celebrities who have egos the size of Russia and pretend that everything they do and wear is a hit. I also was surprised that she carried on a conversation about being a star in the '90s. Usually that spirit of "eternally 12" gets such a stronghold on her that she doesn't even acknowledge that she was alive back then. That was a big step in the right direction. In terms of her alluding to not getting credit for a lot of the trends that she started, I don't want her to get bitter about it which I sense she is already becoming. What's happening to MC has happened to every legend. After a certain point people forget the impact that you have made on the industry. Despite the 12 year old trolls in YouTube comments shouting that Ariana Grande is better than Mariah, I'd be willing to bet that there are way more people who consider Mariah a legend than there are people who are trying to tear her down. It's a matter of which side she focuses on more and she's giving people who don't give her credit too much attention. (Tuesday 24 November 2015; 18:07)

I don't know what I was expecting but I'd never really considered that the language barrier would have made Mariah's music inaccessible to the working class in Mexico and more popular with the upper middle class. That's almost the polar opposite of what her brand is: positive, universal and accessible. Initially I was most shocked about her never having performed in concert in Mexico but that sorta made sense once I reread your post and got the real tea on how she hasn't connected with the masses over there. I guess her connection to Luis Miguel didn't translate to expanding her popularity in Mexico any more than it did for him in the Anglo-American market. I wonder why she wasn't ever properly promoted in Mexico when it's so close to America? Japan is a lot farther away both culturally, linguistically and geographically yet she is the biggest selling foreign act in Japanese recording history. Anyway, Gracias for the breakdown Lamb. Obviously it was produced by Babyface and The soundtrack was probably being compose around the same time Daydream was being finalized as well. And also Whitney had control over who was and wasn't on the soundtrack which would explain why Mariah didn't make the cut. This whole write-up is just an excuse to plant negative stories, whitewash lies and perpetuate stereotypes that are as far away from the truth about Mariah as you can get. Jennifer Lopez' dirty hands in the forcible pilfering of the Firecracker sample from Loverboy and other shenanigans sabotaged Glitter. Everybody in the industry know what happened. Like why did his editor even approve of a review on a film/soundtrack 14 years late? You couldn't wait a few weeks for A Christmas Melody to analyse a musical film Mariah actually directed, starred and co produced? Benny Medina, is that you? A little response (57,947) by David F from Mexico Hello Baby from Dreamville. First of all thank you for reading my post. My father sent me to Anaheim, Ca. to study High School back in the 90's so I used to listen to radio a lot to find comfort, because my other relatives were in Mexico. I missed them a lot, so songs like Hero, Music Box, ATYNAF gave me profound feelings to keep going on. I used to listen to KISS FM or when I was at the shopping malls I saw the cd covers a lot and I wanted to discover more from her. However in Mexico I went to the Rainbow signing and Charmbracelet and I saw a lot of high class fans, because they only know English completely some of Mariah's songs are played in the biggest radios stations only, like Butterfly was played recently and I was surprised. She's never done a concert here so she never had a big connection with these fans the impressions she left, faded, and since then she has not come back again. I think is a matter of zero promo. When the Chante Moore started playing and I heard her do the whistle notes I thought that this was their (Babyface's/ Whitney's/ Clive's) way of having a Mariah "moment" in the OST without Mariah, if you know what I mean. Could have been interesting though, having Mariah there, but remember back in 95 the Mariah/Whitney "rivalry" was at its peak. There was a journalist that did separate interviews with both divas around the same time and she brought each other's names each time. Nippy's reply was a bit more biting, while MC literally exhaled when replying "not for me" to a supposed rivalry situation. Oh dear Lord, the 1990s are back and never coming back.
