Mariah got bamboozled (58,082) by nikki from usa
After Def Jam let her album die while they broke up, MC was left with a flop album, still an injured diva, and in her 40's. No one wanted her which made deals slim. Naturally, she returned to LA. Unfortunately, for her, LA had no intention of re-charging Mariah's star. He just wanted to mooch off her residency's buzz and success. You'd think with the freebie of her Vegas promo pic and even music video location on top of only recording 1 new track that Sony could've properly pushed the single and LP. The internet ads were a great start, I just didn't realize it was the end too. There were no radio interviews, magazine covers, or new promo pics. This wasn't promoted as an LP would be. I'm sure Infinity was tossed together as a way to support the album, but imagine MC's surprise when LA said she'd never have another #1 and was lucky to just be on radio. Clearly, if your label doesn't think you can be successful than they aren't going to push your product. Anything MC does will be redoing past hits in one form or another since LA is only interested in capitalizing off nostalgia. She's too young to be doing that now. The only thing a label is good for is radio access. If they're not going to be promoting new material than that's not needed. Mariah would've been better off going solo.

GMA interview (58,081) by Jono from USA
Did anyone see this clip? I thought it was awkward the part where they showed her 1990 performance of Vision Of Love. Obviously she was a bit uncomfortable watching her old self as it's like taking out your childhood videos and watching them. But that was also one of her most stunning performances and she looked pretty sad, especially the part where she did the famous vocal runs at the end so effortlessly. Everyone critiques her current vocals, but she's her own worst critic.

Mariah Carey iTunes (58,080) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
AIWFCIY is slaying on iTunes. The song is now #23. It would be extremely higher but Adele, Coldplay, and JB have a combined eight(8) songs in front of Mariah's. I expect AIWFCIY to rise in the coming days due to increased radio that always immediately happens after thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. I believe top 20 on Hot 100 is reachable this year lambs. There are no other major releases but Rihanna's long delayed album Anti. I also believe Adele's music is pushing people to buy Mariah's song. Mariah deserves some credit too as her AIWFCIY music video was played on every TV appearance she had this week.

Re: About Bieber (58,076) (58,079) by darrian liu from taiwan
Mariah should have recorded an original song with JB. It could ensure her a Top 10 single at the least because aside from Beliebers, the public are eating up whatever he has been releasing lately (and they're actually good songs, props to you Biebs).

Re: Can't Say No (58,071) (58,078) by darrian liu from taiwan
I thought Can't Say No is far from that bad remix that is Why You Mad. To me it's a solid remix and I love how angelic she sounds there. Your idea of the Bieber duet is actually a good one and I'd love to see that. But then I want Mariah to have her moment too and sing solo to show off those pipes.

Travis (58,077) by Randy from USA
I think as negative as Andrew, and Adam may be, they bring up valid points and you can love an artist but not everything about them. My least favorite thing about MC: the smoke and mirrors around her live performances. My favorite thing: her songwriting. And the producers I want her to work with: none. I want an album full of stripped introspective songs about the divorce, her kids, Morgan and Allison etc kinda in the vein of Right To Dream, Close My Eyes and Languishing. Keep the vocals constrained to things she can always sing on stage without lip syncing or straining her voice.

About Bieber (58,076) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This was a huge missed opportunity. She got JB in the studio willingly and yet recorded a song she didn't have strong plans to promote. Justin is now hot property with his songs and albums blocking up most of the charts. A duet between the two could have been huge if they promoted it well because just their picture in the studio generated a lot of buzz. Trying to revive a song which had given up its last breath months back was in all honesty silly and something that I still don't understand. Some people argued that she wants to revive it because "Infinity" is a part of Vegas setlist. But I think she is dropping it from her list as the new show is called "#1's" only.

Re: Stiff (58,038) (58,075) by ADAM from USA
I couldn't agree more with your statements. Mariah is very stiff and boring in all her interviews. There's no spontineity or reliability with her and I also question why with her career at a low these last few years are her projects all lackluster? I feel she's always passing the buck on someone or something else and doesn't own up to her shortcomings. I think Tommy and Walter were super instrumental to her earlier success and it's ashamed after many years she still won't work with either in any capacity. I think she's at a place professionally where no one checks her and the only people around her are on payroll so they are all yes people. Unfortunately, like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, when she passes away the world will be flooded with stories from background singers, assistants, makeup team, coming out the woodworks with all these stories about how Mariah was deluded and out of control yet when she's actually living now no one is coming to her rescue nor giving her a reality check.

That would actually be a good idea, after missing another PR opportunity with this Hallmark thing. So many people in my environment are now slowly but surely admitting that they're starting to like JB. And before the blind lambs come at me for the Hallmark remark: yes, everybody lipped. Yes, it's been acknowledged by other artists in the parade. No, the general public isn't going to care after last year's fiasco. Yes, the general public is unfair towards Mariah. No, that doesn't mean that she doesn't have to do something about the criticism if she ever wants to be a commercial success again (she's had recent critical success, it just hasn't translated to commercial success).

Note to board (58,072) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I am tired of acknowledging a certain member of this post. They don't like everything and we should not continue to beat the dead horse. It's pointless to argue with someone that hates everyone and everything. If it's not their way, it's no way. I am starting a new conversation and would love everyone to fill in. Please ignore this negative wannabe. Anyway. What producers would you like Mariah to hire on her next album? If so, what sound would you like her to explore? I would love a mixure of songs in genres like jazz, funk, a pop country bubbly sound song like #Beautiful but with less R&B vibe and more guitar strings, retro songs like Meteorite, and bring back Electro Pop. That would be a learning experience and an awesome album.

Re: Can't Say No (58,064) (58,071) by Andrew from UK
Stick it to Tommy? Isn't this a little off the mark? Historical personal and professional accuracies and inaccuracies abound. But wasn't the beginning of Mariah's career crafted and managed to make her a global superstar? Worked, didn't it? Didn't she state in a Billboard speech something like "I have to thank Tommy Mottola: particularly at the beginning of my career"? "Can't Say No" to me is hideous and boring except for when Mariah sings - which is awesome, punch-the-air shit. This is a bit like the Nick criticisms here. Mariah has never slagged him off or said what happened. And she maintains class around him. Why is he lampooned on the web forums? Regardless, this heavy RnB stuff is bizarre to me. She had Justin a few months ago who is now Number 1, 2 and 4 in the UK and she utilised him for a terrible heavy RnB remix which nobody even noticed. I'm sure I'll be told to shut up and sod off. Let me be a little more positive and constructive. I think this: Mariah, do Rockefeller with AIWFCIY and do it as the festive duet with JB (who, fair play, has spectacularly changed the way the world thinks of him). It would be amazing for her. And amazing for people to watch. It would be insanely brilliant.

Can't Say No (58,068) by Bill from the UK
This is a really great track and I hope it gets the single treatment with a video and some promo. I always thought the Make It Last remix of Thank God I Found You had a similar chord progression to Can't Let Go and this really highlights that. Great stuff and I hope it does well. I love that MC has re-sung and re-written her song for this, Can't Let Go is such a well-loved song amongst the fans so really pleased to see it come into the current era for a new generation.

Can't Say No (58,064) by 123 from USA
I love this song. I'm so glad that Mariah is getting love from today's rappers and is not only getting sampled, but also asked to appear on the song as well. I love how she re-sang the vocals opting to sing the chorus with only her lead vocal instead of having the harmonized layered vocals like the original. It really shows the vulnerability in her voice and invokes even more emotion. I love the re-write as well. "Thoughts of you and I, still kill, me slow." This is the old Mariah I remember. Re-singing, re-writing, re-arranging. She could have just took the route she has been taking lately when "re-making/re-releasing" previous songs and leaving the original vocals like AIWFCIY, It's A Wrap, Betcha Gon Know etc. She finally lost the weight, I hope this becomes a single and they shot a video and do various performances. I hope she stuck it to Tommy by putting in the high notes at the end that he had removed from the original radio edit. This is my favorite ballad of hers and I'm glad it could get another shot at the charts. Its also a great way to introduce her classic material to a younger audience who are unfamiliar with the splendor of MC classics.

Re: Anyways (58,061) (58,063) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Thanks Lee. I thought the GMA spot was really cute. Steve Harvey seemed more formal. GMA and Kelly & Michael and the other are more light-hearted and fun. I love her re-sung vocals for Can't Say No. Are they really making it an album only purchase though? Gotta hand it to them, that's smart marketing, because I was hoping to buy just that song. Lol.

Re: Out now: "All I Want" lip-sync (58,062) by Ian from United Kingdom
It is what it is, we will probably never see her sing this song (and many others) live ever again, sad but I'd rather she lipped it than see her mess up. If she starts taking her time with studio recordings, working more on the arrangements, melodies and backing vocals and focusing less on how many rappers she can fit on one track I believe she could rise again. She has the talent and ability to write classic songs. Just my thoughts.

Anyways (58,061) by Lee TS from USA
I just wish there was more of this interview. I love how her voice sounds too, very healthy and not tired. She's very pleasant here and very sweet. Also, you can catch more or Mariah singing Can't Say No on iTunes preview of Rick Ross' album. She changes some of the lyrics. And her face is priceless when they sprung her 20 year old self on her. I know us lambs want to know what's reeling through her mind while watching this. I hope she's simply proud of how far she has come.

Parade (58,059) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I would have complained if this was a concert like Vegas or Beacon but seriously it's a darn parade. Her main job was to sit on that huge float and wave at people and flash that million dollar smile. So I will avoid getting into this argument and instead focus on how gorgeous Mariah looked. From the dress, to the hair and that luxurious fur shrug. She looked every bit the queen of Christmas that she is. She is visibly slimmer and her smile just lights up every picture. I also loved that she is being mature and spending Thanksgiving with Nick and his family for dem babies.

Andrew you are just too into this whole. She is an amazing single and will away so be. So what if she lip syncs? Just get over it and move on.
