Mistakes have happened. Past is past. Mariah is in a really good place. She's working her butt off and spending time with family. The karaoke comment was just her being honest. It really does become so much of a vocal performance. Mariah is all for fun she just wants to sing along and be silly. Macy's (58,028) by darrian liu from taiwan I'm a bit bummed when I heard the lipped performance, but then when I checked other artists, they're also lipping. Probably some tech issues. Well at least she looked gorgeous. I just learned that the almost every "live performances" from Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is lipped because of tech difficulties of singing into a wireless mic in a moving vehicle. I still can't get why the media still tries to bring down Mariah with the lipping when every other artists there also lipped their performances. Talk about extreme bias. Some things stay the same (58,016) by Giselle UrbanPoshBeauty from US of A Honestly, If I were Mariah I would say forget it and move out of the country and live happily with my new guy. Some of her fans are so annoying. Always have a negative thing to say and nothing ever positive. Just like New York Daily, made a whole article talking about how fans were so mad/sad she didn't sing live this morning. As a grown woman in her 30's who has watched the Macy's day program every holiday since I was a tiny tot, everyone lip-syncs it's been like that, there's no way they can sing live with so many acts right behind each other with a live feed on national TV. There was an article written months ago, about how we should show Mariah respect and love instead of always critiquing every note she sings. The fact that she gets up there with a smile on and believe me she knows people are waiting for her to mess up so they can pounce. Even Adele has mentioned how nervous she is doing live TV because she's so in her head afraid something is going to go wrong. I respect and love Mariah, I think the problem with a lot of us and critics we put these artists on such a high pedal stool and make the icons and we love them and want them to be perfect all the time and when they don't live up to what we deem they should be we tear them down. I've learned earlier this year I've been comparing Mariah to her younger self all the time and that's not fair. She's the last of the "great divas" and I'm too happy she's still singing and giving us great music and she looks favulous. The only thing I'm going to keep reading her about is her taste in clothing and her choice to keep aging, Tired ballroom dressing stylist around boggles my damn mind. Merry Christmas to all of you. Mariah only is her bubbly self with people she's comfortable around, that was her first time on Steve's show and it's early AM, had it been in the PM she would of been more bubbly. I think the tech team requires singers to lip sync because the float/parade can't handle a proper mic feed and maintain good sound quality. She didn't get up there and lip-sync, surely? Mariah wouldn't be so silly as to follow a much derided AIWFCIY vocal last year with another PR disaster like, oh I dunno, miming the words this year instead? Right? I hope whoever posted the video dubbed it. However, judging from her body movements and facial expressions it was lipped. I hope I'm wrong. I was hoping for this latest round of press to get to know her more but it's always the same script - how glamorous her life is and how much of a legend she is. Very boring and pretentious. I don't know why anyone thinks that makes someone more endearing or relatable. I just wish Mariah would drop the diva antics and allow herself to become reliable more. We don't know what goes on for anyone based on what we see in the media or by the opinions of countless people. Mariah gets called countless names. She lies, she's lazy, she drinks too much, is "fat" she should have vocal surgery to fix her voice (we're not in the room with her medical professionals) lol. She's mentally ill. People say they want her to open up more, but at the same time are always looking to find some kind of flaw with whatever it is that she's doing. There's a desire for her to "be more confident" but by the same token, scrutiny when she does anything. How does analyzing everything a person does (or doesn't do) boost their confidence? Only respect and love can do that. When you live under a microscope, and have been through a really rough few years emotionally, I imagine you might put up some walls because you feel safer that way. You're careful who you trust, because you feel you've been hurt before. Especially when you're a known sensitive person who is affected by what others say/do (which Mariah has said she is). Maybe when there is no expectation on Mariah to change or be different then she is, some of those protective walls will come down. Maybe when she's greeted with compassion and acceptance rather then scrutiny and judgement, everyone would feel better. The public, the fans, her family and Mariah herself. On Steve Harvey I admit she seemed less comfortable. On a completely unrelated matter, my local radio station plays Infinity almost every day and my colleagues really like the song and her high note.
