Lee TS (53,978) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh, Lee dahlin' please let's not even joke about Mariah making a duet with Ariana. I mean Ariana isn't a bad singer, but I just don't want MC to be around her. I'd like to come up with a good explanation, but at this moment, I am a little blank, but pretty please ok? I'd like her to have one with Taylor though. They can both write and have somewhat contrasting sound that'll be interesting to hear. I also wouldn't mind something with Beyonce or Rihanna.

Baby (53,977) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
First of all, I don't think I ever called Mariah lazy. I said I agree with J.D. in a way. Has to do with her not being as sincere as she was before. Coming uber late to appearances, not coming at all sometimes (hello Rockefeller) and all that. I'm always one of the first to defend MC when it comes to her craft. So no it's not loopy, and I didn't expect Mariah to suddenly churn out 14 songs in 2 months to release within this year, I said she already has a huge stash of material, apparently a full secret album she has ready and she can just drop that. Because the way all her latest efforts are going, she is adding one commercial flop to her name or another. Plus what promotion are you even talking about right now? I don't see any happening at the moment, do you? And no, sorry my expecting Mariah to release a full album has nothing to do with her work ethic, I just don't think she spent 4 years writing only the songs included in MIAM. I'll repeat again, since you seem to read only what you think you see, I said drop the album you already have hidden. Not a new one. Why I said that? Because commercial success matters and "Infinity" can't seem to even cut it to top 100 anymore so there, she'll be left with yet another flop. Now isn't the time to take it slow because like it or not, the older she'll get, the lesser chances she'll have of redeeming herself.

Insecurities and other female singers (chiming in) (53,976) by Tiina from Finland
Mariah has insecure moments. She's only human and some of the best artists are often surprisingly insecure. Mariah has no reason to feel that way of course as undoubtedly she's the most talented singer in the history of recorded music but because she is herself and hears herself completely differently to anyone else, she can't ever really grasp that. But if you think about it, she really only has issues with singers that are being called the new young her (and who wouldn't when they put it like that?) but she's been very gracious with countless other female singers, like Kelly Clarkson, for example. And there are many more, like Aretha, Patti, Whitney, Olivia Newton John, Anita Baker, Cindy Mizelle, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Diana Ross and Beyonce to name a few. As for Nicki Minaj, I think Mariah was more genuienly offended because it really was a low blow to her to have to sit there in the same panel with Minaj. Mariah is a "singer's singer", she's a songwriter with 18 number 1's and she epitomizes what AI is all about. She's the most qualified judge that show has ever seen and for them to treat her that way, to force her be a part of a joke of a season, is still mind-blowing to me. I'm not at all surprised over her recent comments. I actually like that she's being real and letting them have it. They fooled her on the show by signing her first and then turned it into a joke as I said. They blew it.

I actually wasn't referring to you or anyone on the board when I brought up Ariana. I sometimes write stuff that I am thinking (MC related) and post it here. But since you brought it up, well yes, she may have taken the other route for Ariana, but I still think the "shade" was blown out of proportions. As for Beyonce, I believe pre-2013 Beyonce was somewhat nice and relate-able but after the huge success of the recent album, I always see Beyonce being uber condescending through her body language towards everyone else (fans and colleagues). Plus the girl thrives on one publicity stunt after another yet still Rihanna gets more #1's than her. I'd honestly take Mariah's massive ramblings over Beyonce's condescending/publicity churning bull crap. Anyways, just to clarify, this is in no way a diss to you. I'm just venting here. So sorry if it comes across the wrong way. Hope you get it.

Duets (53,974) by Tiina from Finland
Some of you will gag I'm sure but I'm not totally against a duet with Britney. I mean, I have no idea what exactly they would do together lol but I dig Britney. She's a warm, sweet person and has had major hits over the years. Britney is soon entering legendary territory, although more so in the lane of Janet Jackson than Mariah of course but still legendary, iconic. I listen to her from time to time and I like her voice. She's a good pop singer. Definitely not the most controlled voice and her range is very limited to say the least but if you listen to her first few albums you'd be surprised of her pleasing tone quality and her ability to project an emotion in a song. And she's never claimed to be the next Whitney or Mariah, unlike a certain someone who shall remain nameless who has proclaimed herself as "the voice of the generation" (not the new generation, I'm not talking about Ariana) when she really is the noise of the generation. "But anyway," said like Mariah *hair flip* I'm up for a Mariah/Britney duet just because I like Britney but it's never going to happen. By the way, I think Mariah could do a duet with Celine. There were some discussion about it earlier. Celine is part of the vocal trinity, although in my opinion the least impressive of the three ladies. But they're still sort of in the same league and it would be another legendary moment, plus Mariah and Celine have been communicating with each other more and more over the past years, so why not?

Vegas (53,973) by B from USA
Lee Daniels, Brett Ratner, Deborah Cox, Rita Ora, and Cookie. I think I heard of other singers being there like Patti or Chaka but I'm not sure which one it was. There are VIP rooms that you can't see in so who knows JLo might have been there looking for some inspiration, lol.

Mimi L. (53,972) by Abraham from USA
A secret album would be great. I thought by now we'd have a new album. Surely she has plenty of songs. All the ones that didn't make "Me I am Mariah". She could have added some on the number ones. And I'm sure they were better than "Infinity". What happened to "Hope street" or "Save the day".

Mariah and Britney (53,971) by B from USA
It could work. Mariah singing in her lower registers, which is always enjoyable, would compliment Britney's voice nicely. Mariah is so versatile she is able to compliment any artist's voice.

Vegas attendance (53,968) by Musti from UK
Has anyone been keeping track of which singers and artists have gone to see Mariah in Vegas? I always find it amusing when celebrities openly like or support each other. At the moment I can only think of the very talented Deborah Cox, as I've seen their photo on Facebook. Also Rita Ora. It would be cool if someone here can post a list.

Mimi L. (53,967) by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
Since I mentioned Ariana by name in my earlier in my post first I'm going to assume you we're addressing me. Let's be clear, when Mariah came out Whitney was bombarded with questions about Mariah and comparisons just like Mariah was/is with every new female singer. Now, Whitney isn't perfect, she knew how to throw shade like the rest of them. But, she always paid female singers their due with "she's a good singer". Lets be real, Mariah has never been known to be "friendly" to any female singer who is compared to her. Going back to Christina A. I'm not talking about when Christina showed up to her party, I'm talking way before in 1999 when she just released her first single. She wasn't exactly very nice to her. Even when they were on TOTP back then, she wasn't very "welcoming". She threw shade at Ariana for no reason. All she had to say was "She, has a lovely voice, but I personally don't think we sound anything a like, just because someone can hit a whistle note doesn't make them a new anything. I'm still here, I'm not goin anywhere." Wish her luck and that wasn't it. Mariah always comes off very insecure with younger female singers. Even with Nicki Minaj on Idol. How is it, Nicki who started that "fight", gets even bigger after. But right after that video Mariah lost a good chunk of respect from a lot of people. Who still say she came off as spoiled princess. Look at Beyoncé, she's successful, for the most part because the industry loves her. She's friendly towards everyone.

L.A. Reid (53,966) by Otti from Belgium
Some people don't get it, what L.A. Reid said about "another number one for Mariah is not going to happen" or something like that. He's not doubting Mariah's talent. With his statement he blames the radio stations, media not playing songs from older artist, he also named other artists who have hard times to get their music played on the radio. L.A. Reid is a clever bussinessman. Once a again, Mariah Carey is still so underrated, "#Beautiful", "You don't know what to do", songs that easy could be number ones. Even Beyonce's "Drunk in love" went to go to the number 2 spot and received a Grammy, and that was a really bad even not sung song. It was like she was talking in that song.

Re: Baby (53,946) by Mimi L. (53,965) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
"With all due respect, I would like to place the same question in front of you, why are you so offended that J.D. (who is currently not even working with her) made one comment that is not even getting any press time really but yet you seemed to have forgotten how bad L.A. 's comments sounded and it's still churning out articles with variations of his quotes. What matters more here? J.D. 's comment which didn't even cause any damage really or her current label boss (someone she thought will revive her or 'save' her) completely debunking any hope of MC getting another hit (when MC really wants one)? Isn't L.A. just fueling the same fire that Mariah is done for good? Whereas if someone even takes J.D.'s comment seriously, they'll just be like 'oh but we always knew MC is a diva and is always fashionably late." Meanwhile, you just made a post about a "secret album" you want Mariah to drop: New album (53, 929) by Mimi L. from. Because that's what an artist who is lazy and sometimes not serious about her career would do in the midst of a residency and promotion of a new song and compilation album. Yup, Mariah is such a slacker but you yourself are looking forward to a full album just one year after her last studio album dropped, probably based on her previous unparalleled work ethic? Does that sound as loopy to you as it does to me? Ersatz logic at it's finest. I don't know but I could be right.

First time poster (53,963) by Mike from FL, USA
Laying on the beach listening to the Glitter album and can I just say that it is severely underrated. Lead The Way is epic. Hoping the video for Infinity finds its way to us all this week. Mariah is wasting valuable time. Btw, just bought my tickets for February 20th 2016 in Vegas and I can't freaking wait.

Lee (53,962) by B from USA
How is this era similar to the MIAM era? She isn't abandoning this project. She did her part. She recorded a new song for this rerelease and she has consistently promoted it. I've enjoyed her interviews and performances from this era. The only thing that is disappointing about this era is that the video hasn't been released yet but as long as she releases an amazing video I'm fine.

I love you Ardis but (53,961) by Lee TS from USA
I don't think Britney fans are as young as you may think. The days of 10 years old screaming girls singing to Baby One More Time are long gone. Do you remember when Madonna did a duet with Britney and it kinda looks like Madonna was sucking the youth out of her? I give you Britney's Pretty Girls with Iggy. Britney is struggling to hold onto relevance herself but I still love her. If you want Mariah to tap into the young fans then ok, this will never happen but she's going to have to hum notes with Ariana. Just saying. Or JLo's mini me Becky G who knows? Or the queen of the moment Taylor Swift. Madonna already left Britney and Christina in the dust and moved on to Miley and Taylor. Knowing Mariah she will never collaborate with a younger or prettier female artist even as someone as qualified as Beyonce. She might come out with a duet with Patti LaBelle though, just saying. Just for laughs.

Near future (53,960) by NHYTG from nyc
I don't think the re-release of Merry Christmas is a good idea, I fear another commercial dissapointment. Personally I think it would be a good idea for Mariah to focus on Las Vegas and the Christmas shows for a few years, she needs to make people hear that the voice is still there. I also think, at this point of Mariah's career, it would be a good thing to establish herself as an album artist with a mature sound. Maybe a good thing to stop releasing singles, flopping singles can kill a really good album as we have seen with MIAMTEC. Unfortunately Mariah's name has not much commercial value these days, I think she will have to work very hard to regain some of it. If that is what she wants of course. I wonder if she herself realizes what state her career is in these days. I will always stay on board but I think even many of her fans fans have given up on her. A whole different subject: I wonder what Mariah thinks of her so called friends, LA, JD, Nathan or Damizza who have given their opinions on Mariah out in the open. I know she preferes to keep certain things private so I can imagine she's not that happy with all of this. On the other hand maybe it will give her the wake-up call that she may need professionaly. I'm really curious of what the near future will bring.

Merry Christmas (53,959) by B from USA
All I want for Christmas is a new album or confirmation that Mariah is in the studio writing and recording her next full length studio album.

Merry Christmas (53,958) by Luke from United Kingdom
I think it might be fun. It's obvious Christmas is the biggest time of year for her, so it might be good to have an exciting reinvention type album for people to pick up at her shows. We don't know how they're going to build the album so let's not jump to conclusions. If they do it right with all new music videos and different arrangements it could be great. I think what they're doing is making her noticeable again since a lot of people have simply forgotten her and her music. Once they've reminded everyone that's when a new album will come. If they just dropped one now chances are it would just be another MIAM.

Mariah and Britney? (53,957) by darrian liu from taiwan
Idk about it. It could work, but Mariah's gotta tone down the belting and turn back the whispery vocals of Charmbracelet (just less whispery I guess?). Also, I think it would be cool if Mariah combined her signature RnB sound with Britney's club banger teen pop sound, especially with a dash of EDM. It could be a hit. About the L.A. comment, it could be done on purpose. I don't really think Mariah could be easily motivated by complimenting her or whatever. I think that by underestimating her, she would have that drive back. Look at what happened on 2005. Everybody's declaring her career dead and she just exploded with a blockbuster album and a new string of hits, not to mention the crazy promo. L.A.'s comment could be a whip to get Mariah going even harder.

Mariah and Britney duet? (53,955) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Despite the incredible differences in their vocal abilities this could be interesting. It would bring a little new sound to MC's signature sound and maybe get new younger Britney fans into MC. It just seems like an add combination but you never know.

Banking on nostalgia and Christmas (53,954) by Lee TS from USA
It's not working Mariah and Co. There's no point in re-releasing Merry Christmas. Look at the little latest effort #1 To Eternity, no one cares. Sigh. I'm sorry it's just frustrating. It's MIAM all over again and she's already abandoned the project. Same thing last year, she releases it and go flies off to another country and perform for a private party to collect a check. Might as well just shelve the video too because no one's gonna watch it. Just do a couple of Vegas and Christmas shows a year and call it a day. Focus on Dembabies and school and be a mommy. Maybe a break will do some good.

Billboard Awards 2015 (53,953) by Billy from Greece
Here's an unofficial clip of the performance. She looks and sounds beautiful, even better than the official broadcast. I love how her voice has matured. Also, the audience goes crazy, just by virtue of her voice. I'm sure certain people attending have never experienced that as performers and had to distract themselves somehow.

Indonesian lambily celebrates "#1 to Infinity" album release (53,952) by PieterLamb from Indonesia
Sony Music Indonesia has been a great support to Mariah Carey's "#1 to Infinity" album by conducting an album release party last Friday 29 May 2015 at Dream Lounge, Plaza Indonesia. Local artists performed Mariah's songs as tribute. Also great support from Indonesian lambily who have been amazingly singing with the artists. One of the performers at that night was Mytha Lestari. You may check her performance on my YouTube channel.

MC re-release (53,951) by Luis from Spain
I don't understand the hate towards a potential MC re-release. It's her only album which consistently sells year after year, and remember that Mariah wanted to re-release MCIIYou in 2012 on the heels of the When Christmas Comes music video. Apparently, inedit material it's on the way and I guess that a new single will come out by Christmas. Clearly Sony wants to sell her back catalogue not just because it's worthy but also because she's not ready to release another album. I'm sure she won't put out any new record until late 2016. They need time to record and produce a huge comeback album.
