MC re-release (53,951) by Luis from Spain
I don't understand the hate towards a potential MC re-release. It's her only album which consistently sells year after year, and remember that Mariah wanted to re-release MCIIYou in 2012 on the heels of the When Christmas Comes music video. Apparently, inedit material it's on the way and I guess that a new single will come out by Christmas. Clearly Sony wants to sell her back catalogue not just because it's worthy but also because she's not ready to release another album. I'm sure she won't put out any new record until late 2016. They need time to record and produce a huge comeback album.

Merry Christmas re-release (53,950) by Dennis from Miami, FL
MC was tweeting about Idina Menzel and she is such a huge fan of Frozen, either dem Babies. I'm sure there will be some form of collabo with someone from Frozen cast (few years ago there were talks about re-release and a duet with Olaf). It might be quite interesting.

Is the book free to read online anywhere? Or do I have to buy it?

Merry Christmas re-release (53,948) by Licia from USA
I'm with everyone else. I'm not understanding why this album needs another release. She makes money off that album every year without a re-release so it's not about money. It's not needed unless she is releasing a third Christmas album with different songs. For me if they just have to re-release it why not do it when the Christmas movie comes out? That makes more sense to me then doing it now. I totally understand the Beacon shows though. She kind of has to perform for Christmas. It's a must. I'm just ready for new music. I'm over number 1 To Infinity. I was over Infinity when it came out. Lol.

Mariah about AI (53,947) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Even though I cringed when Mariah straight up dissed AI, I am glad that this time she didn't launch into calling Nicki Satan and all. I mean people really think MC hates on many female artists, so it's good that she instead said that it wasn't right for AI to pit two females against each other. Also people still go on and on about how Mariah dissed Ariana, but really that's bull crap because she just said that she wishes everyone longevity in their careers. I mean what do people expect her to say? "Oh I am totally down with people calling this girl the next me, heard her songs, she totally sounds like me." That would be fake and incorrect. To be the next Mariah they have to have a voice as rich and lush as Mariah, they have to be able to write songs that really no one else can think of and they also have to produce them. Just hitting the whistle register doesn't make one a neo-Mariah.

Baby (53,946) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
With all due respect, I would like to place the same question in front of you, why are you so offended that J.D. (who is currently not even working with her) made one comment that is not even getting any press time really but yet you seemed to have forgotten how bad L.A.'s comments sounded and it's still churning out articles with variations of his quotes. What matters more here? J.D.'s comment which didn't even cause any damage really or her current label boss (someone she thought will revive her or "save" her) completely debunking any hope of MC getting another hit (when MC really wants one)? Isn't L.A. just fueling the same fire that Mariah is done for good? Whereas if someone even takes J.D.'s comment seriously, they'll just be like "oh but we always knew MC is a diva and is always fashionably late".

Loverboy / Merry Christmas re-release (53,945) by Bill from the UK
I think the reason Loverboy may sound different to the rest of Glitter is because, if you remember, Mariah had to quickly re-sing the song over the new sample of Candy following J.Lo using the Firecracker sample MC was originally using for the song. I'd like to hear the Firecracker version too. There is a glimmer of it though on the remix. When Da Brat sings "hate on me much as you want to, you can't do what the (cough) I do, just be emulating me daily", she is singing it to the tune of Firecracker. A pretty obvious stab at J.Lo if ever there was one. As for the re-release of Merry Christmas, I'm not against it. It is a classic album that deserves some special treatment as it has given MC what is arguably her most well known song ever. So long as it has some new material, like a separate disc/DVD of one of the Beacon shows would be great.

QuizUp (53,944) by Musti from UK
Does anyone here have the phone app QuizUp? Mariah related questions come up quite regularly in the 1990s music category. It's funny (and sometimes embarrassing) how some people seem to recall Without You being a Celine or Whitney song. Same with VOL, LTT, Someday and IDWC. What surprised me the most was a question in 2000s music, which went something like this: "Which diva had a hit in 2001 with Loverboy"? I was like, for real? A hit? Still, it's nice to see the song get some recognition somewhere.

Loverboy (53,943) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Is it just me or does Mariah's voice sound a bit weird in this? Like a little more nasal than usual or something? Her voice on the other songs on Glitter sounded normal. I always thought she probably had a cold when she recorded this. Anyways, I know this song isn't one of Mariah's best-known hits, but I wonder how the final version would actually sound like if Tommy didn't sabotage the Fireckracker sampling plans. I think the replacement sample they had to settle with overall just sounds awkward in the final mix. Something about it just didn't complement the melody and harmonies of the song as well as Blind Alley did for Dreamlover and Genius Of Love did for Fantasy. I still like it, though, especially the Dreamy Club Of Love Radio Edit. Smooth and slinky.

Mariah not taking it seriously (53,942) by Musti from UK
It's clear Mariah hasn't been taking her career as seriously since she met/married Nick. Not to bring up Migrate again, but even if that was released at the time I doubt she would've done enough to promote it. She did kind of try with Obsessed but quickly lost interest presumably after she realised it won't go no No. 1. Same with Beautiful (plus the injury). I see MIAM as her divorce album. Although we all love Thirsty (including Mariah), I personally believe she didn't want that as a single at the time as she probably believed there might be room to save her marriage. Thirsty might be about Damizza but it can also easily be applied to Nick, and no doubt the public would've treated it as a reference to Nick. Now that the whole debacle is over, she tore him apart with Infinity. We can all agree that Infinity is not a show stopper, but it's a great show closer. I'm not too bothered with how Infinity does (though I wish they would release the video this instant). It's a Vegas stage song, and a way to get back at Nick. It will never go to No. 1. LA was absolutely right in his earlier comments. When the time is right, and if they all want to make it happen, she will come back with a chart topper.

Mimi on AI being "fake" / candid Mariah (53,941) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Right on. Finally, someone who's brave enough to call it. That's the most annoying part of the show (or any other singing show with a commenting judging panel for that matter). Every time those shows come on and the judges give their comments, I actually feel bad for them because they have to make up critiques for multiple contestants, trying so hard not to repeat themselves at least within the episode. I mean, I know they signed up for that task, but come on, that's gotta be a challenge even for the most gifted speakers. No wonder Mariah was rambling most of the time. She was always running out of word choices to comment on performances she probably even didn't feel like commenting on in the first place. But as much as I love Mariah's recent brutal honesty about things, I can see how this may come across as catty and unprofessional, perpetuating her reputation as a difficult diva. Of course that isn't her intention, but then again, even if she did a 180 and settled for safe remarks on controversial topics, she'd be the one called out for being fake with all her contrived "showbiz" answers. She just can't win and it sucks.

Where are you Christmas: Mariah's version (53,939) by Cgee54 from Usa

Christmas album (53,938) by NYHotShotta from USA
Also I agree with others I don't understand why she wants to re-release the Christmas album again. I think this time she should just do the Beacon Theater performances, having them be heavily promoted this time around. I think she should work on her building up her stamina and voice for the next era and I think she should rebrand herself again. She's had this "glamorous dress" phase since the Angels Advocate tour. She should mix it up, maybe even brings back the curly hair.

Another Christmas album? (53,937) by Marissa from USA
A re-release? This is a mistake. I know she said it was for the fans but Mariah, Merry Christmas II You already served that purpose. It's time for new, properly promoted, material.

Advice (53,936) by NYHotShotta from USA
Yes Mariah has an amazing career and she has nothing left to prove, but I agree with JD and some of the other lambs who feel she does tend to get lazy, especially recently. I felt like if you're gonna release an album, shoot a music or have a Vegas residency where your fans shell money to support you should be on top of your game. Whatever she did to prepare for the Beacon Theater concerts she should do now or it seems she's getting there because she voice is getting better from show to show. She should take the criticisms that her friends such as Nate Morris from Boyz II Men and JD have given her seriously. Mariah has way much more to give musically and MIAM has shown that. On another note I applaud her for the interviews she has been doing for this era. The interviews she had during the MIAM era were all over the place at times. This time around, she has been staying on topic throughout and even when the interviews shift she always brings it back to the music.

Could this all be subterfuge? (53,935) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
It's just very odd to me once I consider the sources. Next thing you know Trey Lorenz, Mary Ann and B. Scott are going on Facebook, Twitter and blogs blasting Mariah. At this point noone seems exempt. It feels almost coordinated tbh, the attacks on Mariah's work ethic as they make no sense at all even tangentially. So, if it's blatant lies then why? Maybe it's just me wishful thinking that Team Mariah is that bold in strategy but that is the only way this makes a lick of sense. Is this a twisted version of if you can't beat 'em, join 'em meets reverse psychology? One can only hope. Whatever the case M shouldn't have to deal with this anti-Mariah open season from the press, friends or fans. Like everything else, I guess well know soon enough what's what.

Another #1 for Mariah (53,934) by darrian liu from taiwan
Let's face it, we can't hope for Infinity to go #1. I just read that Ester Dean wanna write a song for Mariah Carey. Ester Dean is quite a hitmaker and maybe she could collaborate with Mariah. Maybe Mariah will get another hit off that collab. I'm just hoping that if they ever collaborate, they won't come out with a song like Super Bass or S&M. Those are too mindless and kinda stupid, even for any artist. But they could get Mariah back into the top 20.

Damizza's book (53,933) by Darryle from USA
Wow. Damizza's book is very insightful. There's so much as fans that we don't get to see or learn about. I suggest you guys read Mariah's chapter. Damizza gives information of Mariah's breakdown, Eminem, Tommy, Glitter etc. He does it in a classy way without bashing Mariah or trying to paint her in a bad light.

Glitter (53,931) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I read the the MC chapter and parts these accounts don't seem that far fetched especially when I started reading about Virgin/Glitter. I'm going to try to explain this the best I can. I have been informed that I don't make sense. Looking in as a average person if you're not a Mariah fan that hears about this record huge deal, and she's debuting on a label with a soundtrack album. But has never acted an odd strategy. Glitter the film might have done well if it had been a cable presentation. Truth be told I only saw it because Mariah was in it. The movie didn't flow, seemed very thrown together even the films webpage there I said it. Mariah being a first time actress in a studio film, it might have been better to take a smaller bite. HBO did Queen Latifah's film Bessie as a special feature, instead of a theater release. Same theory applies you still need enough audience willing to take in the project, I liked Bessie, but I do see why HBO did it and not some studio in reality the average person is not going to care about a jazz singer that lived over a 100 years ago. As Glitter happened it seemed that people on the inside might have known in advance or had a hunch that it might not fair well in general. Perhaps Mariah didn't want to hear the negative there was a good director but not much else as far as promotion leading up to the film. I get the feeling that while trying to succeed she lost prospective of the big picture. The reason I say this is all those behind the scenes specials and segments, seemed to be formatted for a specials section for the dvd. Da Brat taking about her charater, extra's having memories while filming in the club scenes, footage of Mariah belting out Lead The Way and so on. I don't believe many talk shows were plugging it. It felt like if you're a lamb you knew if not oh well.

Daydream327 / Mariah's respect (53,930) by Marissa from USA
I think the main reason Mariah doesn't get the respect of most living legends is because people don't see Mariah's substance. When people hear Mariah's name nowadays they think of ridiculous demands, obsessions with lighting, never acknowledging her age, having a grudge against another female artist, etc. Mariah's depth isn't mainstream. The masses don't know her struggle. People think MC is so pampered and spoiled that there's no way she could have ever been through anything. As long as the diva antics are in the forefront of the masses' minds she will never get the respect we'd all prefer.

New album (53,929) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh how I wish Mariah has a change of heart and just releases the secret album she was talking about. From the sound of it, that album is intact and none of the songs were used on Chanteuse. She must also be confident enough with the materials that she was willing to make a surprise drop. Right after Vegas she'll have free time until Christmas season. She could have promoted it. Plus I have nagged about this before but where is the track she apparently worked with Morales on? He posted on social media that they are working together. Then who was the supposed surprise collaborator during MIAM era? We never got to know. We already knew about everyone who was working on the album, we never found out the surprise. Mariah, honey, just give out the secret album.

Rampant sexism at its finest: the anti-Mariah agenda (53,928) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
So JD who was being interviewed with his young male protégé Shad Moss a.k.a. Bow Wow out of nowhere says Mariah Carey, the #1 best selling artist of her generation, period, who has amassed over a $500 million dollar net worth and runs a minor empire 24/7 is essentially not serious enough about her career? Never mind that she's a hands on mother who priorities her children before anything else but still gives her fans new music and projects to look forward to 25 years in the game. Letting a man's word be taken as gospel simply because he's a man is so disgustingly sexist, not to mention idiotic. You would never hear him say anything remotely similar about Usher or Shad Moss because he knows they automatically get the benefit of the doubt as males, especially once his own dire situation is scrutinised. So all of you out here spreading this ridiculous idea that Mariah's lazy and doesn't care about her saving grace, when everything points to the exact opposite, are some of the most easily manipulated people I'be ever seen. I bet you're the types that vote against your own interests in every election then go aground bragging about how you're so informed. I can't express enough how disappointed I am in Jermaine Dupri. No wonder M has such a hard time trusting when even someone who's presumably been her friend for 20 years thinks nothing of sabotaging a moment that should be nothing but celebratory. There's a clear anti-Mariah agenda at work here. Another goat bites the grass.

Oh my goodness. I'm at the part where Eminem wants Mariah to read for the part of his mom in 8 Mile, just to mess with her mind and trigger her insecurity. Christmas again? (53,925) by Liz Archer from Sweden
Mariah Carey, not sure I want to see another rehash of the Christmas album or AIWFC song again. If it's part of the movie with story, fine I might watch the movie but probably not buy the album/soundtrack. Haven't this song been milked out enough now? I want to hear new music.
