Billy don't be a hero (54,485) by Andrew from UK
If you don't like my messages, don't read them. I'm not convinced you understand them anyway. Dressing up "I don't like what you say so stop saying it" in your [censored] just emphasises my last point. It made me actually laugh in pity. And it emphasises another's point as to how it's always the "don't say anything negative because we get militant" camp who are vicious. Which is true. If I really get on your nerves, which it is clear I do, just don't read my messages. I post less because the responses can be tedious (as in GG's post earlier). I don't think lip-syncing the climax of Hero is anything to be happy about and I'll leave it for you or Mimi L to tell me what outfits look good on Mariah because that ain't my bag. To make the point emphatically for you once more: it is not in any way ethical or dignified for you to say that people who post about Mariah must follow your ideology or get lost. You act as if there's legitimate debate and this is an open forum whereas I and others have told you that it is increasingly not that way. Dressing up your drivel in a post attempting to be clever and authoritative is the same nasty tired approach but with a bow on top. So don't read my posts. Don't. There's my name and my actual face. Right there. But something tells me you just had to read this one, too. Itchy under your skin is it? GG you were always great in your (brief) posts. Post more often. It's better than the illuminati paying Nick to make Tommy burn Mariah's effigy etc.

I never said Mariah could do no wrong. I just don't say what people are already saying. I said this before and I will say it again, I recognize respect. It doesn't sometimes show on this post by me. For that I apologize. I will say that I agree with all points made most of the time but I am not the one to agree, not to agree nor post a response. As much as I have been hard on Andrew, he actually speaks the truth most of the time. The issues I had with him were how extremely rude he came across, to me, on some of his posts. The same apeopleies to everyone else. I have an extremely high IQ in English and writing. If someone types blunt, people might take it the wrong way. Thats all I have seen here. I reacted and I was wrong. However, it still comes down to how the other side interprets the message. If the other side isn't going to say what they meant; then the arguments continue because the origional message is still misunderstood. The arguments sadly have not stopped and have escalated to namecalling because of misunderstandings. I don't usually post frequently so I will not view myself a hypocrite on name calling. On behalf of name calling, I apologize to all I offended by using the word "sissie's".

New music (54,482) by Luke from United Kingdom
I wonder what they have planned? They couldn't record a full album inbetween now and her next set of shows unless the album has been ready for a while, so could it be a new single? YDKWTD was amazing and could have been a summer hit, it would be cool if they do something like that again or Meteorite. Those songs are the ones I listen to the most from that album. Because of those songs I found the originals that they sampled from and fell in love with those as well. Either way I don't mind what she does, I'm just excited. Can we just appreciate that she's making new music already? Her persistence in proving everyone wrong is inspirational. Also, I don't know how some people keep seeing the "deterioration" of her voice when it's been improving at a fast rate and so has her confidence. I honestly think some people just have a hard time of breaking the habit of finding something negative in every situation.

Andrew and the art of letting go (54,481) by Bill from the UK
What you need to remember though Andrew is this site's purpose. It is a fan site. It's supposed to be a place where MC's fans can talk about her latest album, performance, interview, project etc. with like minded people who are interested in discussing it. Mariah gets enough of a bad rap in magazines and in general around the Internet, so her fan site should be a place of refuge for her fans to just hang and have fun. I get being critical from time to time, but Andrew, with you it is relentless to the point that your posts have just lost their credibility. When Mariah does well, like at the Beacon and Vegas, you don't balance out your criticisms with any praise. You clam up and vanish and then crawl out of the woodwork again when it's time to take her down. I still cannot understand why you post here when you don't like Mariah, her music, her current direction, her voice, her fans, or seemingly anything about her. Maybe it's time to just accept she isn't what you want her to be, bow out gracefully, and relish the good memories you have of her. Letting go's not easy, it's exceedingly hurtful, but there's an art to it.

Mariah and Nick (54,480) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Nick Cannon is that you? Why yes it is. That too in Paris. Good that they are on good terms. However back to the main focus, I'd be that girl if I met Mariah, either a sobbing mess or straight up faint. It's either one of the two, there is no in between. Here's the video.

I agree, I would love more colors. During TEOM Mariah wore so many colors, even neon (which isn't easy to carry off) but she looked gorgeous in them all. She literally had those mini bandage dresses in every color and was seen wearing each color out and about looking like Malibu Barbie. I hope to see her in some Balmain. I always liked Balmain designs. MC could look fierce in them.

Lee Daniels stanning for Ms Ross while "Don't Forget About Us" plays in his car stereo (54,478) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
These things make me happy when they are captured on film. Diana Ross just joined Twitter the other night to much applause, M welcomed her of course. I would gag if Mariah and she redid "The Theme from Mahogany". So many are the possibilities when legends collide.

Thanks Andrew lololol (54,477) by darrian liu from taiwan
Lolol somehow I feel flattered you like my post lolol. Yeah, she could train and practice without a camera, but it's better to have an audience. It's different, singing by ourselves and singing in front of people. In front of people, you'll have the pressure to do good and that pressure could be used to encourage her to pick up good habits in her singing and performing. I think that would propel her voice back to form faster than if she takes a hiatus and just practice behind the curtains.

Just like you are going to keep it real so are other people. You said this is not high school, but your response wasn't very adult. They have a right to express how they feel. I don't always agree, but it's an open forum and as long as they don't go too far, they are within their right to express themselves. You all are the ones who want everything to be one sided. If it's not all happy and saying Mariah can do no wrong, then in your world the opinion is not valid and people are being [...]. How is that fair?

Stylist (54,474) by Lee TS from USA
I think it's the Wilfredo fellow who's her current stylist. I guess he doubles as a stylist besides designing beautiful jewelry. He's usually seen with a lint roller by her side and tugging and fixing her outfits. With Mariah's latest ensemble I figured she was going to the zoo, you know that's her usual attire to such things lol jk. You can tell when it's usually an Alaia based on the stretchy fabric and fishtail finish. What I am glad though is she ditched the funeral dresses from MIAM era. I want to see more color from her. And it's really great to see her enjoy herself and Dembabies, that's what I want to see. Her being happy, not worrying about a performance or a promo obligation. I have to say Rocky seems to exude more of a diva behavior than Roe, they're the cutest, Mariah's got a handful from Roc alone.

What's a lamb? (54,473) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
What saddens me is how quick Mariah Carey fans turn on her for not doing what they want her to do. If anyone should be impatient it's me. I have been following her every day for 10 years. I have seen her good and I have seen her bad. I am proud to say I have never been critical. She is like a sister to me and has gotten me through alot of pain. I had no mom, no dad, and was bullied everyday at school. Her music became an essence in my life. In 2005, she displayed confidece, something I didn't have. She showed me that when no one cares to look inside my heart and not be afraid of who I am. She gave me that fire and that confidence. Her music spoke of love and heartache. Hero got me through everything. I loved the respect she received in 2005 and she wasn't afraid to be free. I felt that when the going gets tough, Mariah made it easier for herself by continuing to fight. I have felt the last few years that she has stopped fighting because her fans are no longer there for her and the media hates her. I apologize if I come across as extremely blunt on this post but I don't want to see our legend go down because of shame. She has always appreciated her fans and talks to us as an extended family. She lets us in to her life, hoping that her fans would understand what she is going through. Collectively as a whole, I feel ashamed to call myself a lamb because Mariah is under tremendous stress and last thing she needs is her lambs saying what people already do on a daily basis.

That is exactly why I stopped posting on this board. I don't always agree with everything you post Andrew, but I enjoy reading your well thought out posts. The delusion and arguements on this board gets tiring.

So, we're not gonna acknowledge that her voice has been improving a great deal lately? Clearly she's been taking better care of it. As much as you all say she lip syncs (all the hard notes) I'm sure her voice would be in even better condition once she reaches Aretha and Patti's age. Randy although I can totally relate to/understand most of your emotions you go through as a Mariah fan, I just don't think I could be personally be "furious" with Mariah based on career choices. Maybe bothered or hoping she proves the haters and naysayers wrong, but I just feel like she already gave so much and worked twice as hard as her peers in her prime, so my feelings are more empathy than anything regarding her vocal up and downs and state of her career. But that's just me, there's no right or wrong in how you feel.

Whoever is dressing Mariah in Paris needs to come back to USA with her. All her outfits so far have been on point and diverse. She covered everything from evening gowns to camouflage jackets. Mariah has the height of a model and a great body. She should be every designer's dream to dress up. I think so far her best fashion moments have been on AI. Those outfits were perfection. I also loved her more casual style during E=MC2 where is was all about the jackets and jeans and what have you. I won't mind if she hangs up the evening mermaid gowns for a while although they do look great on her.

10 Songs that prove Mariah Carey is queen of the remix (54,465) by 123 from USA
I love this article. I really hope that with the new album she does remixes like she used to ie this article. I felt like she was halfway there with the Beautiful and You're Mine remixes but I'm going to need completely resung vocals and a new video, even if its her at her house a day in the life backstage in Vegas., whatever. How they were able to narrow a list of 10 down I don't know, I love so many of her remixes, even the Spanish ones. I wish she would sing in Spanish again.

New music soon? (54,464) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Big Jim Wright tweeted that there is new music coming soon. Now I don't know if he is working with some other artist or Mariah, but I hope he means Mariah. I can use a new Mariah summer anthem. Although Mariah is not directly tagged in the post, he did use her name with a hashtag. If new music is on the way I am super excited, if not, I'm fine with waiting until she is ready because I want this time to be super organized. Promo plan set, video shot before song is released, a clear channel deal and maybe a couple of magazine interviews. Whenever you are ready MC.

Crusades to Unicornicopia (54,463) by Andrew from UK
As someone who has received criticism (although sometimes just) and abuse from many on this board, I know how it can be. There is a group of about 6-10 people who slap each other on the back and praise each other in their Mariah-religious orthodoxy ("thank you for insulting that person, girlfriend" etc.) who essentially now control everything here. Admittedly, there are some people here who are really thoughtful (I liked the response about Mariah's voice and the reason for not resting it, although I think Mariah can sing her voice back to strength without a camera aimed at her) who I shan't name for fear of hypocrisy. I remember a lot of interesting straight-talking people who used to post here who have now [...] off. Not because there's "nothing to complain about" but because, ostensibly, it has become a place where you either tow the party-political line (ie. live in the CTTA cover artwork) or get lynched. Anyone remember Stephen M from London? There are so many people who were interesting to read who dont bother anymore. Just a hotbed of people who see Mariah as their crusade. To those persons I would say this: I, and others, love Mariah, even if you do not like the way we do it nor openly admit the same worries and concerns. You do not have dominion over Mariah-fandom because you consider yourself more worthy, and you do not get to banish people from the kingdom just because they argue vehemently whenever you declare that there are unicorns in it.

Randy (54,462) by Marcus from Brazil
Randy, there is not blinder man than the one who refuses to see. Everything you said in your last post was spot on. At this rate, being only 45, what will be left when she reaches Patti's or Barbra's age? Mariah has been criticized, but one thing she always had to shut down her critics was quality music and great delivery. She didn't have to use smoke and mirrors to mask anything, you either loved her or hated her, but either way she was the lady that would take a mike and sing. I think in her mind she thinks that the whistle register will keep saving the day, but she's used it so much that it has lost its "wow" effect on people. I hope she keeps improving and taking care of her voice because at this rate if she doesn't do something about it, in five years she'll be sounding like "Minnie Mouse on helium". I do pray for a miracle.

Fashion-Riah (54,461) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mama Mariah bringing in the edgy look. Love the black fur shrug. Very black swan, and very edgy. I also love the side pony tail. She is doing a lot of different hairstyles. Fingers crossed we get a leather jacket look next. I love how Mariah rocked a lot of different colored jackets in 2008. She looked gorgeous in each and every color she wore the pink, the gold, yellow/mustard.

One Sweet Day article (54,460) by Manny from U.S.
I read the article about OSD, which is in this website's news section. Did the author just refer to it as an AIDS song? "A mix of megastar Mariah Carey, mega-group Boyz II Men, and lyrics about how undeniably sad the AIDS epidemic is, 'One Sweet Day' is like one of those movies that seem written just to get a Best Picture Oscar." Mariah said it was about the death of a friend, I'm not sure if it was David Cole. She never mentioned it was about AIDS though. I always figured he was gay and maybe he did die from complications of AIDS. There's nothing wrong with that, but it seems this article is 1) not true 2) written more to stigmatize the AIDS "epidemic". It bothers me how these professional writers twist the truth and make the readers believe the inspiration of this song. It's a sad way to sell their work.

Letter to this messageboard (54,459) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
Everyone needs to stop attacking B. I was the one who elaborated in detail what I felt she meant. I took it further by agreeing with her in much more detail. That detail has led to everyone attacking B. B kept it simple and stated how she felt (opinion) and now you want to butcher her. It's not attacking or an insult if the opposed has tendencies to overact and reciprocate insults all the time. This is not high school people. Always acting critical on an open post will never end positively if the comments are one sided and that is what I believed B meant. You're upset B called you a [...] but you are the first ones to agree with tabloids and what other non-fans believe. The critical lambs are usually the first to agree to negativity and will complain about how fat Mariah looks, her kids need help because their mother can't take care of them, Mariah Carey does drug because a unreliable tabloid says so, she needs to retire, she is a has been because everyone thinks it, she is an alcoholic because she drinks alcohol, Vegas will never work for her, her album flopped despite all albums flopping, and that she hates her lambs because she didn't sing your songs. That energy is what is irritating to the lambs that are not trying to argue or be negative. Instead of moving on, the critical lambs feel they need to throw someone under the bus and act like Jesus. However, I will always be keeping it real and will say what needs to be said. This messageboard needs level minded individuals.
