Walmart performance (54,238)
by William from Philippines
| |
|
|
One word, wow. There might be some vocal mishaps but that didn't overshadow the entire performance. Her voice is really clear and I've never expected Always Be My Baby to sound that good in 2015. I've heard her sing it live last year and I must say that this Walmart version is my new favorite. Her vocals are on point. I'm really happy that she's finally pulling herself back together this time.

Mariah at Walmart (54,237)
by ADAM from USA
| |
|
|
I actually loved the Walmart performance. I enjoyed that there was no diva banter and actual singing vs having the audience sing most of the song and/or notes. She sounded clear and confident. Despite the lipped belts in Infinity and ABMB everything was live. I really also liked the dress and makeup/hair she had on today. It was a good silhouette for her and colors looked wonderful on her. She didn't look like a cheap stripper nor someone who is wearing her younger sister's wardrobe. I hope she keeps this type of stride up.

Walmart and Did I Do That (54,236)

I thought she did quite well. Not bad. Now, I'm surprised Did I Do That is not getting much love. It's my favourite song from Rainbow. Cleverly written. You rhapsodize.

Mariah at Walmart, oh well (54,235)
by Alejandro Cole from Colombia
| |
|

I can post a picture of everything I have from Mariah's catalogue just to prove that I'm the biggest fan in my country (Colombia), one where is impossible to get Mariah rare stuff so you guys understand that I love her but, this show at Walmart is proving yet again that her voice is extremely damaged, that her control (vocally speaking) is also very diminished. She struggled the entire time and you can notice it by listening to her trying to finish the high final note at infinity to soon, she looks like she knows she will be judged yet again. If she decided to sing polka or whatever I will buy her music anyway but I cannot close my eyes and ears and pretend I didn't heard that and "yes" open my heart and accept that the voice is not the same anymore so I can support her the way she sounds now. I love you lambs. I love you Mariah.

If she really is having these issues that her brother is saying she does, I pray someone who can do something to help her will. Mariah is still so young and has a lot to live for.

MC performance for Wal-Mart (54,231)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
Thank you Lee TS for sharing the link. MC's part actually starts at 3 hours and 30 min mark. She actually did the Vision Of Love ending the classic way, then Infinity, followed by Always Be My Baby. Awesome. She sounds really "clear" on this one too. It sounds like she did the whole performance live too because you can hear a few mess ups. (But who of us could sing the songs the same as the album version, if you can't then who are we to criticize her?) She was beautiful.

Songs I never got into (54,230)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia

Truth be told I always love 99.99% of all of MC's album and can probably name on one hand the songs I was never able to get into, but here goes. 1) Lullaby (Charmbracelet). I adore the album as a whole and can let it play all the way through, but I always skip over this one. 2) Stay The Night (TEOM). I don't know why, It just never grew on me. 3) Lass Kiss (E=MC2). Just not a "go to track" for me. It sound like a generic JD production (no shade, but shade). 4) I've Been Think About You (Music Box). It's cute, but I would never listen to it, or say "you know what I feel like hearing I've Been Thinking About You" today for some reason". I guess it just gives me album filler, generic uptempo pop. 5) Did I Do That ( Rainbow). Okay I didn't understand for the life of me how this song made the cut for that album, it sounded so bootlegged. But crazy enough it actually slightly grew on me and I kinda like it now.

Could someone please post the Enquirer interview? (54,229)
by SC from USA

I can't find it anywhere online, so I just read the headline or the general summary that's on the Enquirer's website. Thank you. Terrible about Morgan. I thought she helped him with the gardening business a few years ago. Terrible.

1. Last Kiss - Filler. 2. You Need Me - Girl bye. 3. Did I Do That - Yes, and don't do it again. 4. Funkin 4 Jamaica - And it loses more points because Mariah is passing around chicken in the video. 5. To The Floor - Keep it down there. 6. The Impossible - Zzzzzzzzzz. 7. Heavenly - I do not think her voice sounds great at all on this record. I wanted to love it.

I didn't believe that Morgan said those things about Mariah until I saw the interview. It's posted on the National Enquirer website. Not sure if I can post the link so I won't. What in the heck happened between him and Mariah for him to just out her like he is doing ? I thought they were close.

Re: Travon / no shade, no disrespect, just an idea (54,224)
by Ardis Logic from Earth

"I cant believe someone tried coming after the webmaster with subjective shade and then try to apologize/recant when the webmaster responded. Like he didn't know what he meant when he was posting it." There seems to be some misunderstand by what I posted. It's funny actually how easily ones try to take thoughts and ideas and turn it into shade. There was no shade meant by my post. I enjoy this website. All I was saying was it would be nice to get all of the Mariah Carey news stories in one place, preferably from a MC fan site, rather then having to search different places for different stories. It's amazing how easily some can get my words twisted all over the place into something I didn't mean. Oh well, it is what it is. Take it how you wish. I have no control over that.

Least fave songs (54,223)
by darrian liu from taiwan

1. Boy (I Need You): I just think it didn't work. The loop is annoying as hell. I really didn't get why that trend of using chipmunk squeaks were even popular. 2. You Got Me: The loop's the problem again. It's really unnecessary. 3. Hero: It's okay I guess, but it's kinda cheesy and the fact that it's performed so many times made me skip it everytime I listen to Music Box. 4. Forever: I listen to it at times, but again it's cheesy and a bit shallow for Mariah's standards. I like singing it tho because it's easy for a Mariah song. Plus, I sang it to my girlfriend while playing the piano when I asked her to be my gf so I got some good memories to it (I remember like arranging candles to form a heart and asked her to stand in it ).

Another idea (54,220)
by Jonathan from United States
| |
|

I thought of this while typing the last one. For anyone who thinks the stripped idea is too much how about a show where Mariah finishes her hours for beauty school. It could be sort of a competition show. She could compete with regular beauticians or she could have celebrities. I mean people love food shows so how about a beauty one.

Damage control / stripped (54,219)
by Jonathan from United States
| |
|
|
It seems that everyone loves a good reality show or docu series so why not give Mariah one? My idea would be to strip Mariah of almost everything in order to make her appeal more to the public by getting rid of her diva persona which the general public doesn't know is a joke. It's similar to Undercover Boss yet Mariah wouldn't go work for her own companies but for others doing minimum wage jobs. Just picture the diva working in McDonalds. The public would eat that up. It would show Mariah in an extremely positive light and I would like to see it on OWN. It would also set her apart from other celebrities because when they need public help they always do charity to win them back but Mariah would become the public in this case. She could do about three different jobs over the course of two months and I would want her accounts frozen so she would only have the money she earns from her job. After she could go on talk shows and give this big spill on how she comes from humble beginings and she seemed to loose touch over time so she took a spiritual journey.

1) Irresistible - I just don't feel this song that much. 2) To the floor - Worst song of TEOM, IMO. 3) Say somethin' - It killed the hit strike of MC's magical TEOM era for me. I would've preffered Stay The Night as the single. Ugh. 4) Did I do that - Lol. Mariah why "did you do that" song? Jk. 5) If we - Uhm, I didn't feel the vibe in this.

Least favourite Mariah Carey songs (54,217)
by Antonio from Spain
| |
|
|
A very interesting question. Mmm, Everything Fades Away is a good song, lyrically and musically, yet it has never really touched me. I'm not a big fan of the Music Box album tbh. I don't like Just To Hold You Once Again or I've Been Thinking About You either (yet the Music Box song is a personal favourite of mine). I like the whole Daydream and Butterfly albums. I'm not really into Did I Do That from Rainbow. From Glitter I don't like If We, from Charmbracelet my least faves are You Got Me, You Had Your Chance and Lullaby (it's not that they're bad, they're just not strong enough for me). From Mimi, Your Girl. From EMC2 I'd say Last Kiss. Memoirs is a very slow yet cohesive, nice album. From MIAM I can say I'm not a big fan of Camouflage, Supernatural or You're Mine (Eternal), which I could not stand as a single. From her #1's, I'd say that my least favourite is Always Be My Baby, I mean I think it's a great song, but I always skip the live performances of this song. I am just so tired of it. haha.

Triumphant and other buzz singles (54,216)
by ktktkt from Philippines

Just be because it flopped doesnt mean it's not good. Honestly, I prefer it to some of her BB Hot 100 # 1's. Maybe I'm just tired hearing the same songs from her over and over. Thirsty is also good and it became my own #1 on my playlist at some point last year. TAOLG, I love the impromptu performance in [...]. The studio version was boaring at first but I like it now although it flopped.

Least and most favorite mc songs (54,215)
by ktktkt from Philippines
| |
|
|
Favorite. It may change overtime but these songs are my jam for now: 1. Forever: I love her, especially the one in Rotterdam, the dress, the hair, the voice, and the twirl. She was a princess back then. I prefer the live version, it's perfect for me. 2. I don't wanna cry: Again, I find myself wanting the live Daydream version. She sang it effortlessly especially in Rotterdam (again) while sitting. Perfect is the only word that comes into my mind. 3. 100%: This is so underrated. I had this on my playlist on repeat. I love how she sang especially the long note in the end. 4. Candy bling: I love the beat. I tend to skip this at first but it's weirdly on my playlist now. I also love the remix. 5. Last kiss: The melody sound fresh to me and I am never getting tired hearing it. Should have been a single imo. Least favorite: 1. Twister: It bores me to hell. 2. Sunflower for Alfred Roy: I just skip it. Though Mariah specifically wrote that to her father and meant a lot to her but I prefer [...] or [...] ([...] can also be a song like [...] depending on how you interpret). 3. Hero: Unless she's singing it like she did in Daydream tour, the song is a drag for me. 4. Auld Lang Syne: She sounded manufactured there and I dont get its MV. 5. Can't let go: I had this on my playlist like my most favorite now I tend to skip it.

Re: Bad blood response (54,209) by RJJ12 from USA (54,214)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
I'm great but I'll be better, thank you for asking. How are you yourself? TBH I find your response puzzling RJJ12. Are you saying Mariah would be wrong to voice her own defense if she actually went on record and addressed some of the vile and completely untrue things her enemies like to concoct and spread? I find her recent candor extremely refreshing, much like I did when her true persona emerged during the Butterfly era the first time. There are reasons she doesn't speak on a lot of things and it has little or nothing at all to do with whether or not she could find the time to do so. That clip from her time in hell with Satan, a.k.a. AI, only illustrates how right I am. Just like she's been letting little things slip in interviews, on stage and in lyrics this past year, that she would usually have been a lot more diplomatic about. That is the whole unfortunate point of my: Bad Blood posts. Mariah obviously can't be as candid as she would like about certain things for political and other reasons but I'm not bound by any of her constraints so I can. And I will.

Tamia / Licia / Enwar / TY (54,213)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
Licia, you know I was mad at her releasing such a silly titled song, Sandwich and A Soda, but it's actually quite catchy, it's got that pop/r&b blend that would fit on almost any radio station. Like # Beautiful. Enwar, Maxwell's last album, loved it. Another album Mariah should explore for inspiration. Fist Full of Tears is one of my favorites on that album. I get Mariah should do Mariah but there is nothing wrong with gaining inspiration from other good music. TY, Tamia is so underrated, she has so many good songs. Every time she comes out with new material she always has a song I like. I wish she and Mariah would collaborate.
