It showed her Love Takes Time, Someday, Hero, and Emotions performance. I nearly fainted of how amazing her whistle was. I thought I'm listening to 90's Mariah. I would love for them to highlight MC's legendary career so that people who think she is a ditzy diva take a moment and think "How did this woman get two back to back song of the decades, still hot #18's and managed to keep her position as the longest running #1 single of all time for 20 darn yearns. I didn't get the full version, just the ending. TheOne, there is no need to feel stupid, maybe you didn't see it the way I (and some of the others) saw it. So now you have a different perspective. I get where your initial perspective came from, I too have wanted Mariah to dress more appropriately and clothes that fit her properly, but that's in the case of gowns and dresses and all. This bodysuit is an homage to herself, a costume, and for that I don't mind it. I love it and I am happy to see her having the guts to wear it. Ethan, I think the bodysuit is a better idea. Fav album (52,914) by Wonwon from Indonesia The first album "Mariah Carey" is my fav. The first song in that album that made me love Mariah is There's Got To Be A Way. How she shoot the nigh notes is still unbelievable. My second fav, maybe um, I don't have any. For me, all other album are equal. For example, even Memoirs has 1 song I like very much, Standing O. And the last album, has Art Of Letting Go and One More Try (I like it more than George Michael's version). Glitter, this album has Reflection, the type of song I like. Charmbracelet, of course Through The Rain. Rainbow, the best cut is Heartbreaker. Butterfly, lots of good tracks, but Whenever You Call, still sound good until today. Emotions has lots of songs that I like. But I don't like the music arrangement in this album. Too simple. Maybe Music Box is the best selling Mariah album. But, I don't have good feeling from this album. Even Hero, now sound not that great anymore. I play Everything Fades Away more than Hero nowadays. The childish/immature lyrics (52,913) by Jon from Netherlands I agree completely. What does the woman have to do for people to accept her the way she is? I'm sure in the next album there will be songs like this one and songs like "languishing" and "petals". Some lyrics we like more than others that's just the way it is. Mariah said it herself talking about this song:"It's fun. we're having fun". People suggest she should sing other people's lyrics and Mariah already answered that: "you're erking me". Other promotional ideas (52,912) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines So Mimi's going back to the BBMAs after 17 years. That'd be great if she really sings live to justify the hype. Other than that, though, what else should she do? She should really up her game with the TV/public appearances. Given the leaks, Madonna's Rebel Heart would not have sold as much of its disappointing sales if she wasn't everywhere during the time of the release. I know this could be polarizing but what do you think about Mariah performiing Infinity on The Voice? I mean, the show is meh and not as popular as it was in its earlier seasons but we cannot deny that live performances on that show have propelled some songs significantly over the past few years (Chains, Burn, Lips Are Movin', and of course, Blurred Lines). The fact that it could come across as a way to shade Idol would probably be just a bonus. (Wednesday 6 May 2015; 10:14)

Vegas residency and Billboard Music Awards (52,911) by Ethan from United States I hope the residency is a bit different than the dress rehearsal/preview show with invited or surprise guests or something. It looks great already but I'm not sure why she wore two of the dresses again. She wore the silver and pink dresses at her Beacon shows. For the Honey performance, I'd rather see her in the two-piece than the wet suit. I think she'd look cuter in the two-piece (honey or white). The Billboard Music Awards starts at 5 pm PT to air live at 8 PM ET in the East Coast. Thus, if her performance time is between 5-6 pm PT, then she has enough time, 2 hours to go back to Caesars Palace to start her residency. I hope it's a live and in-person performance rather than a telecast or taped performance. It's more exciting that way. In addition, I'm glad to see a lot of positivity on Instagram posts and there are a lot of born-again fans after seeing her dress rehearsal/preview show. Some said that I Don't Even Cry (I think it's probably the picture with her in the middle and a musician with a guitar), Love Takes Time, and My All were their favorites. I'm very happy that she sings those old songs again and I can't wait to see them. I miss her those songs live. And the snippet of the acoustic Thank God I Found You was to die for. Favorite album (52,910) by enwar00 from usa Butterfly. That album is so special to me. I love the lyrics, the melodies, the tone, mood, the flow of it, even the packaging, photos and colors. Everything seemed to align in an amazing way on that album. I feel like it was more mature, sexy, and sophisticated than what preceded it, and more natural and classy than what followed. That's not even taking account the videos, which are my faves, and how beautiful Mariah looked. Ultimately, the songs are etched into my subconscious in such a way that as recent as last year I would play it sometimes to relax and take a nap or sleep and it would take me there. The "childish/immature" lyrics (52,909) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines I do get how some fans may think the lyrical content of Infinity isn't necessarily age appropriate. But at the same time, this style of writing from Mariah has been out there since Rainbow, so I'd expect more people to be used to it by now. Yes, it has gotten progressively frank and hilarious throughout the years, but I don't understand how "Why you actin' so corny like Fritos?" is any different from "See right through you like you're bathin' in Windex" from 6 years ago. Some may see it as a sign of immaturity, I mean, I also probably would at times, but I just prefer to see it as Mariah finally being real and true to her emotions, even if they happen to be expressed in the silliest figures of speech. The point here is that Mariah has finally reached a certain point in her career where she can confidently write what she wants regardless of what people say, instead of trying to stick to what's deep and poetic all the time (which just isn't realistic). There's a much lesser disconnect between her real life and her songs right now. Back in the 90's (especially early on), while her output was considered lyrically mature, they were also criticized for revealing little of her actual experiences. Now, you don't see any critic complaining about her albums being contrived. At least she's expressing herself in fun (albeit occasionally cringe-worthy ways) while not resorting to the excessive self-referencing and cliched lyrics that seem to have plagued Madonna's releases since 2008. There are tracks that seems similar to each other. My favorite songs in those albums are Underneath The Stars and Fourth Of July. I feel the connection between these two songs. Lol Lee TS (52,904) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada I certainly think that you're kidding by saying Ariana and Christina should pay a visit to Mariah in Vegas. I mean, sure they both, among a lot others, have mentioned MC as one of their biggest influences (mostly Ariana) but I guess they have gotten the message quite clear: Mariah doesn't like any single female artist with a good voice. She actually hates them and have been pretty open about it always throwing shades on them (just saying shade because nobody likes to read visceral comments). The only one white female singer with a good voice that wasn't trashed by Mariah's comments was Jessica to whom she only said something on the likes of "she's like my mini-me" something that although not rude or bad, was still a bit egocentric. And lastly, Jessica was on Sony as well. I guess it must be quite sad for someone like Ariana and Christina when getting started mentioning Mariah as an inspiration and then realising that MC does not want to say anything positive about them, not even say "thanks for considering me as an influence on your singing" or something. That's why a lot of people tend to dislike her. It was like when MC was hanging phones on DJs just because she didn't want to be asked about the wedding rumour and such. You hang phones to radio DJs and they won't be playing you that much. (Wednesday 6 May 2015; 4:15)

Madonna has been relatively protected until now, probably due to another ism, ironically. To be fair I don't follow her enough to know if she's always had a gripe with ageism. I just can't remember her ever claiming her predecessors or musical influences. Unlike Mariah, very unlike Mariah. Notice how the narrative when it comes to women of a certain age in the media at large is: "the perpetual comeback". Paul McCartney was just featured as a collaborato on Rihanna and Kanye's Four Five Seconds. He's as old as they get and still no one would dare suggest he made any sort of comeback. As a female on the other hand, your last "performance" determines everything about what will be the story they tell about you no matter how successful you become. Remember Rockefeller? Infinity music video (52,899) by T from USA Mariah confirmed that she's shooting the video this week. That's exciting. I just had an idea that I think would be bring together past and present and tie right into her #1's project. She should bring back every "villian" or douche boyfriend from every video she's done. (The two bodyguards in Honey, the cheater in Heartbreaker, Eric Roberts, Wentworth Miller, compu-nerd, the obsessed stalker and Bianca). Out of all those only "Obsessed" isn't part of her #1's but I would still include him because it would be hilarious. Many of those people were in Bret directed videos as well. She would have time to both open the festivities and accept the Award for most #1 Hot 100 songs by a solo artist. There better be a freaking stellar montage honouring that amazing achievement. without being late to the 8pm show. I'm hoping Fifth Harmony and Mariah finality meet backstage so they can finally fangurl in person and pitch their idea of having MC do a cameo in the Like Mariah video. I want M to sing VOL and Infinity. Anything else is a bonus. Also, can we talk about the continuously great synergy around Mariah right now? I mean, what were the chances of the Billboard Music Awards landing in Vegas this year and on a day Mariah isn't required to be on vocal rest? I still believe this is the year of the Butterfly. Justin (52,896) by B from USA Justin is attending the Billboard Awards. I just said that I think he'll be among the celebrities present for the opening night of Mariah's residency. Preforming Infinity at the Billboard Awards would be excellent cross promotion for the single, album, and residency. Mariah wisely scheduled dates at least three days apart. She is indeed taking care of her voice, which sounded amazing from the leaked showcase (dress rehearsal). I think she spent the past few months working on her voice. (Wednesday 6 May 2015; 1:26)

I know she's in Vegas, but I think the rumor started because she has a residency show on the same day. So yeah. Anyways, I am not paying it much heed. I would love her performance at the BBMAs to include her previous hits.
