Dress of Mimi in Vegas (52,856) by TheOne from Philippines I saw this picture of Mimi in Vegas. (I think she's performing Honey.) I was disappointed. I really don't want to talk about weight issues because I don't care about her weight but this suit is not complimenting her body at all. Her thigh is too enormous. Being a 45 year old, and a bigger woman, she should dress according to her age and weight. Enough with those kind of ensembles. No offense to her but if the public sees these kinds of pictures, she will be critisized "again" and I don't want this to happen. I'm not criticizing her but I'm just " worried" for her because she's doing well lately and I don't want it to be destroyed again. This is the photo that I'm talking about. So concider the source because it sounds like "someone" with an anti-Mariah agenda is trying to thwart the efforts of her team to get Infinity played on the radio, by way of bad press, making it seen like diehard fans are up in arms over some bullshit nonexistent reason. Simply put, trolling at its worst. Didn't you get the memo? Well, it reads: Anybody who likes a couple MC songs is considered a "lamb" these days and therefore can be quoted saying the most disparaging things about Mariah and/or lend credence to outright ridiculous claims that have nothing to do with reality. It's the oldest trick in the book. Journalistic integrity be damned. See Wendell Williams for reference. There are plenty of people who have a vested interest in seeing Mariah Carey fail. They have gone out of their way to let us all know who they are so I'll refrain from listing the usual suspects. It ain't rocket science. Anyway, I have a good feeling about Infinity, it's a sleeper. RJJ12 / All That / nostalgia (52,853) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Glad to know someone else hear loves All That as well. That song is horribly underrated despite its understated elegance. Dem synths really sparkle in it, reminiscent of 80's slow jams. Brilliant. Anyway, today's music isn't really about progression (with the exceptions of some of the latest outings of Beyonce, Lorde, The Weeknd and Charli XCX). Most of today's hits nod towards the past. Today, it's in to be nostalgic sonically. Some of the most recent biggest hits echo sounds from the past 6 decades. I know Mariah probably won't dabble in the 80's again because it reminds her of the Glitter debacle, but I mean just listen to that album. That type of musical backdrop just brings out something else out of her voice that isn't really that evident when she does more modern-sounding tracks. So she'll probably keep looking to the 50's-70's for throwback references, and I'm more than good with that because she always sounds great with those stylings, and because I'd rather hear her do that than flirt with mid-'00s generic urban pop that quickly went out of style after the TEOM era. But I'm really, really wishing for an 80's inspired record. (Tuesday 5 May 2015; 12:23)

Infinity / Ribbon (52,852) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Anyone else hear the similarities between these two tracks? When I first heard Infinity, I was intrigued, and then a few replays later, I started to really like it. A few more listens later, I realized that one of the bigger reasons that I liked it was because several aspects of the song reminded me of one of the best songs in MOAIA (in my opinion), Ribbon. Of course that sounded more modern and hip-hop, but I think Infinity is somehow what Ribbon would've sounded like if it were recorded in the 90s. Similarities include: 1. Brassy instrumentation. 2. Rolling midtempo beat. 3. Some sing-speaking. 4. Mariah's airy, "drier" sounding vocals. 5. Colloquialisms. Of course I'll always love Ribbon more, as I feel like that's exactly what the color magenta would sound like if it were a song, but I'll gladly listen to Infinity every now and then. I like how the long notes at the end were extended a little bit longer, I love when Mariah sings long notes. I like the route Mariah went with Infinity. I just wish the lyrics were written like how she used to write them. If she does create some remixes I hope they're resung with either some dope harmonies or belts. Also, think Mary Ann and Taketha would have done great singing background vocals on Infinity, if she does remixes I hope they're on it. (Tuesday 5 May 2015; 4:21)

One direction (52,846) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was listening to some 1D tracks and I loved how they sound. They write their own material and they have really mature voices. I would love it if MC at some point collaborates with them or gets them to perform one of her duets (maybe TGIFY or OSD) at Vegas or a major awards show with her. They are a talented group of boys and I bet they can come up with great material collaborating with MC. It might sound a little weird to imagine them collaborating but I think it would be great and something new. Just an idea. (Tuesday 5 May 2015; 3:19)

Just switch it up completely from what she has done. Infinity photo is really pretty but in order to reach people who are not "lambs" is hard with an infinity butterfl. Just saying imo. I want a mature ballad, pop or up tempo song. I really wish Mariah would set her pride aside and let someone write for her a whole entire song for once. Hook up with Sia or Diane Warren. And also finally collaborate with a female artist. I'd be really nervous going to Vegas not knowing what to expect. I hope you and whoever else is going with you a safe trip. So, clearly Infinity is being given the same Clear Channel deal that #Beautiful received. This seems to be the only way for a woman over 40 to have her music played on the radio these days. Radio ageism (52,838) by Jono from USA Infinity isn't the most current song, in the sense that it doesn't follow any pop trends, but it certainly belongs on the radio. What will prevent it from getting played is the same thing that's happening to Madonna - ageism. The idea of playing a song by a 40+ woman is unfathomable to some stations. This might be an unpopular opinion on this board, but I actually respect what Madonna has done, and her most recent song is actually pretty good. But that has not been getting any radio play, and I fear the same fate for Infinity. Instead, the new Britney and Iggy Azalea song will be, because it follows a trend (even though it is quite possibly the worst song I have ever heard, and that's coming from a Britney supporter). I am ok with Mariah not getting radio support if she continues to do what she feels is true to her and her sound. But it goes to show that Mariah may never be able to connect to the current generation unless it's for a throwback reason, and I wouldn't want her to reinvent her sound for the sake of appealing to the younger crowd. Because what I hear on radio nowadays is horrendous, and like the egotistical but brilliant Kanye West said, it's not a place I want to be right now. Artistic integrity over commercial success. Infinity's iTunes status (52,837) by Ethan from United States As of now, it's at #109 on the iTunes chart. The lyric video is still gaining hits and momentum. I don't know how radio additions will impact its success. So far, I haven't heard it on the radio yet but today is May 4 so it's out today. Is it a single? (52,835) by nikki from usa Whenever MC releases a single to radio it has an "impact" date. Even Beautiful and You're Mine had impact dates when they would be released to radio. This song had rave reviews before anyone heard it. The track was immediately released for sale and never had any mention of being released to radio. On top of that, we still don't have a music video for a song that's been available for download for a week now. This boils down to 1 of 2 things. 1. This song is just a promotional tool and was never meant for radio, only hype. Or 2, Sony will wait to release the song to radio until her residency kicks off and her music video is done to promote her album release. Mariah is taking over "Twitter Tuesday" @iheartradio tomorrow at 7pm. We'll have to wait and see. (Monday 4 May 2015; 22:08)
