Obsessed (52,649) by SM from Citizen of the World
As days go on I'm more obsessed with "Infinity". I just love it so much.

Pearl Theatre album (52,648) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I know that Memoirs is generally not really all that popular among Mariah fans. That's totally cool. I'm fine being in the minority. I absolutely adore that album. It's a fave of mine since Butterfly. I love everything about it. To me it's a mix of everything. A fun summery feeling record. Some absolutely brilliant lyrical references whether paying homage to other artists or simply showing off Mariah's humor and quick wit. She has so much fun on the album, and it somehow balances vintage throwback sound with fresh and trendy, "ahead of its time" music simultaneously. The concert album recently showed up on iTunes, and although I think the actual concert could have been filmed so much better, I think vocally she gave a wonderful performance. It really is a great album. She's really sweet and fun between songs, even making fun of herself as a "diva" while she gets a hair and makeup tweak between songs. Lol.

Legacy (52,647) by B from USA
Mariah will be included in the record books. Her legacy is intact. Stop with the this performance or this song will ruin her legacy crap. She's Mariah Carey, she is The Voice. Whitney was The Voice until Mariah arrived with a voice that could do things her couldn't. She also one upped 90% of her peers by writing and producing her material. She's a living legend show her the respect she's earned.

Wendy's opinion, "that's tea though" (52,646) by Ardis Logic from Earth
So I just saw the video of Wendy talking about Mariah. In a way it's good advertising. Of course the audience is going to respond the way Wendy wants them too (puppets). That guy who works for Wendy who is supposed to be a "lamb" ha ha yeah right. So fake. Anyways she still had some nice things to say about Mariah too. Even nicer than some people who criticized Mariah here on this very message board so, you know. It is what it is you all.

Mariah live at The Pearl (52,645) by Anthony Carey from U.K
Hi guys. First of all I want to start of by saying (A) Infinity is amazing and I just cannot stop playing the track over and over. (B) How amazing did Mariah look arriving at Las Vegas? Now that is how we should be seeing Mariah, getting the attention she deserves. I am fortunate enough to be flying over to Las Vegas on 21st May to see the show twice which is going to be so exciting for me. Wanted to ask you guys if the Live At The Pearl album will hit iTunes UK at any point? I am desperate to hear it and purchase which I think would be good for me to listen too on my 9 hour flight in May.

Mariah's live tracks on iTunes (52,644) by JCS from United States
Hi all. Just reminding everyone that Mariah's live album at the Pearl Palm is on iTunes. I guess it had a release date of April 9 but I didn't know. Was it ever announced here?

''#1 To Infinity'' album available before May 18th at The Colosseum boutique? (52,643) by Enigmatique from Canada
Do you think that the ''#1 To Infinity'' album will be available sooner at the Colosseum boutique? Like from the opening night? That would be great for those who are attending the shows.

Matini (52,642) by Jared from USA
I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings. I know that not all African Americans speak like that (Barack Obama, anyone?), but let's be honest, that type of speech originated from African Americans. It's the rise of hip hop culture that brought it to other races. Please don't be so sensitive about it. As for Mariah continuing to put out "great music", that's your opinion. I don't find "Infinity" to be even close to her best work. If you love it or like it, then good for you. I just don't. And I'm not someone who "loves to pick Mariah apart", just someone who wants her to succeed and be the great artist we know her to be. "Infinity", to me, sounds like an album cut that I would skip, rather than a single with real charting potential. However, if the song does well, I would be very happy for Mariah. I want her to continue to make music, and hopefully better music than some of her recent efforts.

Marissa / growing (52,641) by Randy from USA
Marissa, you were articulate and on point about the voice. What will destroy her legacy more than anything is this lip syncing the difficult parts of songs and being mediocre on television because what is she known for? And during her comeback didn't LA Reid rebrand her The Voice? Which I thought was shady because Oprah branded Whitney The Voice in 1998. Anyway they both are The Voice to me or actually they both were The Voice at one time. Infinity is growing on me. I like the vocals and the lyrics and the throwback feel but it's not the undeniable irresistible sure fire comeback hit everyone touted it to be.

Followers / Vegas interviews (52,640) by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
It's sad how some people can't form their own opinions about something without getting an opinion from someone one. So if said person love it, would you too? What difference does it make who or doesn't like Mariah's new song. Some of you are way too much. Must be a age thing because I don't know anyone over 30 who still does that. As for her interviews, I'm very impressed. Mariah did the thang. And I'm very thankful, they made her stand for every single one. No splashes. This was a success in my book minus that sparkly dress and that black dress too. Looking forward to Kelly and Michael and Jimmy Kimmel, also I hope the BBMA also. If she wears a long gown to perform a song like Infinity that should just pull the curtain down in her cause I would and send her home.

Ben / European track listing (52,637) by Bill from the UK
Hi Ben, Against All Odds is included because the version with Westlife hit #1 in the UK I'd imagine. It would seem weird to put out a #1's album that omits her #1's in that region. Just like how Without You was included on the original European release. It's bittersweet though because I hate that some great songs have been sacrificed, but then I equally love those that have replaced them lol. Such is life.

Edward / Jared (52,636) by Abraham from USA
I agree with everything you both posted. The song is just bad, period. I really hope there aren't any more songs like "Infinity" on her next album. I'm so surprised on how many actually like it. It's like some like everything Mariah puts out lol. I thought we were going to get a real "singing from the heart" song. But oh well. The only good thing I have to say about Mimi is that she's looking really good. The black ensemble was gorgeous.

Interviews (52,635) by Lee TS from USA
Yes I have to echo the sentiment about her interviews also. She's doing fabulous with them and it's great to see her having fun too. I love seeing and hearing her talk making sense with just a little bit of rambling, the lady tends to ramble it's true. But this time around she's not all over the place and erratic. Remember when fans were worried about her mental state during MIAM? So let's hear it for the girl haha. The only thing for me was she looked a little tired and she probably is.

Ardis / Jared (52,634) by Matini from United States
Ardis, "tea" means "gossip" or "the scoop". It's okay if you didn't understand it at first. If it weren't for Twitter or Instagram, I'd be lost too. Jared, I'm really sorry, but I found it offensive that you said Mariah's "African American colloquial speech" is irritating to you. The lingo she used is used by all races, not just African Americans, and not all African Americans use it. I don't speak that way, my mother and father don't speak that way, my brother doesn't speak that way and a lot of my African American friends don't speak that way. I'm extremely sensitive about many things and I usually keep quiet about it, but reading that really hurt my feelings. As for Mariah, I say let her write whatever she is feeling. I don't think Mariah is trying too hard. I also think she sounds great. I truly feel bad for her sometimes because she works hard to please us, yet it seems like some lambs love to pick her apart. Can we all appreciate the fact that Mariah still makes music? Great music, at that.

Vocal changes (52,633) by Marissa from USA
Although still beautiful, you could hear an obvious change in Mariah's voice since her performances during the Butterfly era. Contrary to popular belief, anyone who has been a fan for this long has accepted Mariah's voice changing for years. Even though TEOM was a killer album, her voice was still technically damaged, but most of us didn't complain. I think the issue that myself and other people are having is that her standards for her vocals have plummeted. Nowadays she is content with putting out a song (Infinity) that is so complicated and ill-structured that there's not a chance in hell that she can successfully perform it live. Mediocre performances no longer bother her either. I can accept vocal changes, but no longer having a dedication to excellence is inexcusable, especially if she wants to eternally use her 18 #1s as a marketing ploy. Listening to all of her #1s or watching her past performances and looking at her career now is making most people wonder, "What happened to Mariah?" rather than "Wow, look at everything she's achieved."

Ardis (52,632) by Darryle from USA
"Ain't none of my business" is something you say after you read or insult someone. "Ain't none of my business" comes from a Kermit the Frog meme of him drinking Lipton tea. "Tea" is slang for gossip or information. I hope this helps.

Infinity review (52,631) by ADAM from USA
I would rate this song a B+. I really hate how she continues to drown out her voice on her uptempo tracks to overcompensate for her dry thin raspy voice. It makes her sounds robotic. I would rather have her natural voice played over the melody. I also hate the fast lyrics that make no sense (especially the cringe worthy Fritos line). Horrible. I also wish there was a bridge in the song and moments where you can let the melody ride out. The high note at the end feels inorganic and takes out the momentum of the song. Everytime I listen to it I think the song has ended and then bam. Despite these critiques, I do like the song. I just wish it were more polished. On another note, I no longer believe fans should clamor for every release she does to reach #1. IMO she hasn't produced a single record after TEOM that was worthy of a #1 record or hit by her own standards. I think she continues to produce substandard records and has permanent damage to her voice which makes her on her best day sound hoarse and raspy. It was her full smooth golden voice which made her records #1. Those days as well as her voice are behind her.

Slaying interviews / Mimi L. (52,630) by May from Denmark
I noticed exactly the same as you. She looks confident and she is answering straight without doing the whole hands swirls, hair extravaganza, funny voices. I opened my eyes so wide when one interviewed asked her in a sneaky way if she was going to have background tapes, Mariah didn't deny this, she was simply mentioning that a lot goes on (so background tapes are always a must just in case) but the way she owned it with the singing in the shower part. It was obvious the interviewer was trying to go to the rumors which say she lip synchs because she can't sing anymore, clearly Mariah stood her ground and threw that phrase to make it very clear that she can sing. This also goes as answer to the person who was asking if Mariah thought we are the ones feeling confused, she wasn't referring to that. Mariah looked upset with that question but she was firm. I don't disbelieve that she can sing but lately she has been having issues, which are bo longer rumors because they are recorded. I have no problems with her "new voice", she is still a powerful singer but it is also hood to admit that she needs to revamp a couple of songs to sing them again and sound good. She has a beautiful voice. I'm rooting for her and wishing her the best, I am eager to hear her sing some of those classics again.

Mariah's body in the black mermaid one shoulder ensemble, the gloves are off (52,629) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I don't get why Mashable even uploaded the shaky Periscope one instead of this HQ clip unless Periscope are/were sponsoring parts of this #1 To Infinity shindig. But whatever, Mariah looks like a billion dollars. The nude mesh bedazzled premiere dress was very Vegas but unfortunately didn't photograph well. Lighting is literally everything sometimes, it can make or break your whole look. Also, her face is beat and whatever regimen she's on is working overtime. Mariah could easily shoot the Infinity video right now if she looks like this without even trying. But the biggest difference is that her laugh is back in full force, she's smiling again, with her eyes and saying the glove era just ended. So if you didn't get the memo, the gloves are officially off.

Vegas (52,628) by Jared from USA
On another note, I had to cancel my travel plans to Vegas due to personal illness. I am so bummed out because I had Front Orchestra 3 Row GG seats, and I was gonna watch it with my husband on my 30th birthday on May 10. So very sad, since I think that production wise, this will be her best series of concerts to date. Caesars would never let her on that stage without phenomenal dancers and incredible visual effects. I hope that there will be a DVD release.

Infinity (52,627) by Jared from USA
I see that a lot of fans "love" it, and there's anecdotal evidence of casual listeners liking it. I am personally not impressed. Sure, there are some catchy lyrics, but overall, I find the song rather boring. And her use of African American colloquial speech in her songwriting is kind of grating to me. I mean, I get it, she's of mixed race and she considers herself black, but on this song it's a tad excessive. It sounds like she's trying too hard to be "street". We all know she doesn't really talk like that. Sure, she's throw in a phrase or two, but in most of her interviews, she's very well spoken. Her high belts on "close the door, lose the key" sound strained. The song also sounds overproduced to me. I still love Mariah and will continue to support her. I bought the single and have streamed the lyric video several times, though it's just not growing on me. I hope that the official video is good - a storyline, some interesting visuals, not too many beauty shots. The video might be the only redeeming factor for me, if it's up to par with MC and Brett's best work. I mean, c'mon, let's have another Heartbreaker-esque video. That video had everything.

I love the re-edit of Infinity, it has made me see it from a completely different angle. Now it tells a story and has got body to it. Thank you.

MC new single (52,625) by May from Denmark
I haven't been able to write my opinion because I'm busy. When I heard it the first time I felt that I was listening to something out of Memoirs, at a point I thought it could have been a left over. The reasons for me to think that is mostly the over production and the noisy background drowning her voice at times and the fact that everytime I would stop the song another one from Memoirs would pop in my head instead. In the first listening I said to myself "no, just no". I don't know why I had on my brain that we would get something like Underneath The Stars but instead got snother Touch My Body. I take the song for what it is. It has a cheerful beat and childish lyrics, it's a fun single. I like the chorus lyrics and melody, I dislike a lot the rushed verses, the bridge is weak, the ending is beautiful with typical Mariah signature. I'm not fond of the lyrics in general but I feel it is a youthful track that it can easily attract new young fans. In fact, a lot of those who are liking a lot the song are teens, she is speaking their language, she is being "modern" if one could say. It clearly shows Mariah wants to be in and garner new fand, this track definitely does it. The single is doing good, really good in fact. Wendy tried to be mean once again and it backfired, because all the people who checked the song because of her have liked it haha. She looked stunning in the nude dress, I loved it. Her new single is not one that I would listen long or often.
