Daily Mail interview (53,133) by Will from England
When Eric posts this interview, you must (all capitals) read this interview. She has not done an in-depth interview like this for a while. She may not talk directly about what went on with Nick, she does talk about her emotional state, and it is heartbreaking. Side Effects has a whole new meaning now. Love you much Mariah. She needs our support now more than ever. Enough with the bad talk. I'm (and many others it seems) sick of all the needless knitpicking.

I appreciate your honesty. I'm sure people respond in many different ways. I can only say that for me (not just with Mariah, but with everything in life) expectations are the quickest way to unhappiness. In relationship to others, in everything. I just try my best not to create any expectations. I work through things just making an effort to be present in the moment. When I find myself kinda dwelling on the past or drifting to thoughts of anticipating future, I just kinda re-center myself. It might sound weird to bring up om relation to Mariah but it really is a way to live with a sense of peace. You can read things that the label has to say about a single, and not make any judgement on it. You can hear a song and just enjoy it for what it is. I don't think it is hard to be a Mariah fan, because I don't feel the need to defend her to the general public. I visit this forum and a Madonna one, that's it. I love MC and 99% the time I don't pay attention to what people who don't like her are saying (lol). If they want to hear why I'm a fan, great, but I don't have any interest in trying to convince people of anything. They either like her or not. Doesn't change my love of her. I experience a lot of joy from the music, which isn't dependent on whether lipping or dubbing happens to be involved. I have listened to the Vegas show, and I don't share the sentiment that most of it is lipped or pre-recorded. Is there some? Yes. But, for me personally I don't think it's realistic with Mariah's instrument for her to be singing a 19 track set list 100% live. Again, that's just me. Nothing to do with you. I do get caught up sometimes in wanting to see others happy, but then I just have to remind myself that I'm only responsible for my own happiness (lol).

Yes that was a rumor (VOL and Infinity). You can check the confirmed story out right on this site. It's the article about the zodiac sign. P.S. Haha I love how Eric gets pissed when we ask about news articles. I get it, I mean he puts in a lot of effort. I think I made that mistake too (of asking about an article which he posted). Eric, I just want to thank you again for maintaining this board and archives so well. I am sure it's tough.

Concerning Taylor Swift (53,127) by Jono from USA
Listen, I can't hate someone who writes their own material. It's not easy to do. Yes, I definitely prefer Mariah's more sophisticated writing; it's crazy how much more mature Mariah sounded at her age (or even Adele for that matter). That being said, Taylor sold out. Are her new songs catchy? Sure. But she has gotten rid of her country roots to "experiment" with pop, which is more or less doing commercial songs. So yes she's the "it" girl at the moment, but like I said before I am glad Mariah hasn't sold out to try and gain more fans. Her work speaks for itself. I shudder thinking if Mariah teamed up with a Dr. Luke or what not to create some generic trash. I agree with others though that the Infinity video needs to have something special that will grab people's attention. Her and Brett have created some of her most memorable videos, and I have no doubt they could do it again. An excellent video that gets shared on YouTube a lot will draw attention to the song, since pop radio has a stick up its ass when it comes to playing any Mariah Carey song. Lastly, I just want to say how proud I am of our girl. She was torn apart in 2014, they were kicking her while she was down. And now she's risen from the ashes and getting so much positive press, even from longtime haters. The haters are getting desperate, as they realize Mariah has come back with a vengeance. She needed to nail opening night, and that she did. Here's hoping for an absolutely stellar Vegas run.

Mimi L. / Emotions to Infinity on BB Music Awards (53,126) by Malcolm from Asia
I just want to know where you saw that or read that Mariah will gonna perform Emotions and Infinity on BB because the other time I heard VOL to Infinity. Any link? Thanks. [Webmaster: This website also has news, maybe you should check that.]

Taylor Swift (53,125) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Swift's new video seems to be a huge budget one. She has assembled her celebrity friends to form a superhero girl gang and each girl's character is being revealed like a movie poster and their superhero name. Scared for Infinity music video now.

Arena's SoundCloud audio of #1 To Infinity from opening night on May 6th (53,122) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Is really good considering it's not professionally recorded. It's better than most of the grainy and sometimes indistinguishably muffled amateur live uptakes from the Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly and Charmbracelet tours that people swear by as proof of Mariah's vocal "peek". In reality, she's been disciplined, diligent enough in her craft and fortunate enough to have had several peeks and she's more than capable of having yet another one. When she sang Hero at the Colosseum I shed a tear and this is from someone who always preferred AYNAF. But even Hero gets to me when she sings it live at times There's something in her voice, a sincerity that cuts through any bullshit and just strikes you where you stand when Mariah sings. And it has absolutely nothing to do with if she's even on pitch for every single high note. That's Mariahs true gift really, her ability to emote so sincerely you find yourself accessing feelings you may otherwise keep locked away and let fester to the detriment of your soul, not the seven octave range. I truly believe that. Mariah isn't the only singer with that God given ability and to keep from shading any other annonted artists alive or dead even unintentionally. I will refrain from mentioning any of them because I also believe it's a devine connection that makes us gravitate to whomever moves our spirits. It's like having guardian angels if you believe in that sort of thing. Mariah for me is that significant to my spiritual wellbeing.

Torn (53,121) by Randy from USA
I do feel that some fans are overly critical of everything MC has done. At some point I was going to post we maybe need to be careful what we post before MC dips on us like Janet did her fans. MC doesn't have to sell another record, record another song or anything else because she is set for life. However, it pains me the amount of defending I have to do for her with the general public and on diva forums and groups. I wish some of you could spend some time going through live performances with her lipping the difficult parts of songs to sing although she struggled through the verses. It's not that I want MC to quit or anything like that, I just want her to sing songs 100% live using what she can do now. I like Infinity now that it's grown on me but again my first thought is you can't sing your old repertoire because of vocal changes and now you release more music you won't be able to sing live? I do think that lip syncing is a form of cheating when in the real world we all can't cheat on our jobs and we don't even get a fraction of what she gets as a paycheck. And yet it's us who has made her wealthy. But then someone on here said she can't sing lower whether it's old songs or new because then she'll be criticized for that. That's true. I don't know what to feel anymore. Being a MC fan is hard. What do you all think?

FYI (53,120) by Ardis Logic from Earth
Just a friendly heads up for those that don't seem to understand. Las Vegas is all about wigs, outrageous costumes, and putting on a very colorful and fast pace show. I think MC is doing an amazing job as far as Las Vegas standards goes. In fact I'd love to see her in a show girl outfit full feathers and all like she wore in the "I Stay In Love" video.

I agree (53,119) by Licia from USA
Marissa and Myles I agree with you both. She's putting in alot of effort and she's trying to make these Vegas shows a success. Even though I'm not a fan of Infinity, I can agree that the label and Mariah are really putting their all behind it and that's what she need. I'll be the first one to be vocal when stuff goes wrong, but you have to give her some credit right now. She knocked that first show out the box. Was it perfect? Nope, but she put in the work and hopefully it will only get better as the show continues.

Emotions to Infinity at the Billboard Music Awards (53,118) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
This is a brilliant move by Team Mariah. Emotions is one of her most iconic songs and probably the most Mariahesque song (vocally) as far as most civillians know because no one can sing it live from top to bottom. Well, no one except Mariah of course. Most lesser singers that try it sound like screeching copycats and no self respecting true diva would ever even attempt to out of courtesy and awe. I hope she does the unplugged version of The Elusive Chanteuse Show fame. It'll work really well going into Infinity that she attacks in a completely different way(vocally) but the lyrics of both songs are dripping with innuendos and double entendres. Very "full circle" by way of an 8 symbol.

Billboard (53,117) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So MC is apparently going to perform "Emotions" and "Infinity" for BBMAs. I think it's a good choice. "Emotions" is as classic MC as it gets and showcases her whistle register like fine art at a museum. And of course "Infinity" needs all the promotion it can get.

Vegas opening night (53,116) by Nick from Maryland
I think she sounded good, we can't expect her to sound the same years and years later. She is giving her all. I mean when her biggest criticizers like Wendy Williams and TMZ are giving her credit then we should too. As someone said earlier it'd be nice if she moved a little more especially to a song like Infinity that people want to dance to. Maybe she was just tired from rehearsing but looking forward to each show getting better

I cannot even believe what I am reading (53,115) by Myles from CT, USA
Over the course of two years I have read people saying on this board, "She is not even trying anymore", "Why is she not promoting?", "She is not even singing live, she doesn't respect her fans", "Why isn't she promoting and singing live on talk shows?" Well guess what, she is doing all of that right now and still cannot please you people. Mariah Carey will never please the general public anymore because you are telling her "we want the 90s Mariah back" but at the same time you are saying "Mariah needs to try something new." She has no idea what her fans want anymore and I truly hope she never comes here for advice. This has been the best promo she has received in the last two years. Some of which yes maybe she did cause. I for one am going to bask in this great promotion and always be hopeful that her legacy will cary on.

Some basic human respect (53,114) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
It is one thing to not like a song, an outfit, an album, to disagree with some choices being made and to voice that constructively and respectfully. But it is another thing to be constantly harping on how Mariah's voice is "shot", her show sucks, she is a joke, she is a raging alcoholic, she is a liar, she should retire, she is too old. Some of the things that get said on here are done without one ounce of respect for her as a human being. I don't think anyone is saying they expect people to like or approve of everything she does. I don't think anyone here is claiming her voice is exactly the way it was in the 90's. Yes things have changed. But how many discussions can there be about it before we accept what we've got an move forward based on that? You know? I really hope I'm not coming across as telling someone "how to be a fan" because I'm really not coming from that place. I'd just like to see less attacking of Mariah, and each other. There's a plethora of that stuff all over the internet.

Bill / board (53,113) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I posted the same thing pretty much verbatim on my facebook page about LTT. The debut performances almost made me cry. I'm not saying she's perfect, or agreeing to the blanket statement that lambs look at everything through rose-coulored glasses because I don't believe that it is true. I don't expect people to agree with my opinions, I am not looking for others to validate me, I am not looking to change the views of anyone else I do consider myself a "lamb" although I am sure there are varying definitions on what that means. I do think balance is nice and to be honest lately the collective energy on this site hasn't been that. I am not saying people can't criticize, but I do think it does get lost at times that this website is intended to be a tribute to her. I love her. When you grow up with someone literally being the soundtrack to your life, they become like family (even though you don't know them personally). Sometimes, the comments on here get so intense it's like one should feel bad for being a fan of hers. I won't do that.

To stop [...] (53,112) by Nicholas Stigliano from USA
All the hair she is wearing on stage is fake. I have pics of her lace to prove it. They aren't poorly made (well maybe just the first one). And if you still don't believe me, just think how would it even be possible to do someone's hair in the 30 seconds she takes to change. They are beautiful if you ask me.

Putting in the effort (53,111) by Marissa from USA
I have never seen the lambily this outraged by criticism as long as I have been posting on this board, and I think it all comes down to the fact that it is obvious that Mariah really tried for this #1 to Infinity show. She put on a great show and seemed like she was happy to be there from what I have seen. The vocals may not have been 100% perfect during the entire show, but she put in the most effort that I have seen in years. That's all you can ask of a person is to try their best.

I don't want to cry - live (53,108) by Ty from USA
While the divas of this board bash wigs and gowns and bash Mariah [...], I'm here to say I don't care what nonsense you say. "I don't want to cry" in Vegas gives me everything I need. It's simple, dark, sexy and painful. Well done Mariah.

We must climb "Infinity" up to the charts (53,107) by Malcolm from Asia
Lambs, stop the negativity, stop the bad vibes on this board. What we must be doing is help streaming and requesting on radio stations so that Infinity can climb up to the charts. We can do it. Help MC bring back her name up to the top 20 of BB and to discover her music of this young generation. I wish MC will release the Infinity MV this week (does anyone have any info of what day MC will release it?) because as we know, T. Swift will premiere her Bad Blood MV next week. I hope Mariah and her team will not release it in same week as Taylor''s because Taylor Swift is undeniably the top artist of this generation. They must know the fact that she cannot compete with Taylor as it will become cheap and a lose-lose situation for MC. I hope Mariah and Taylor will meet at the BB Music Awards and take some photos, it is a very good promotion for Mariah and I wish they will have a collaboration in the future; "90s-00s queen meets the 10s reigning queen of pop music".

My only problem in Vegas (53,106) by TheOne from Philippines
The stuff that I heard in her first Vegas tour was decent. She really gave an effort and her voice was decent to me. But my only problem is that she doesn't move so much in her performances. She looks stiffed and had a tight corset on. Is that an effect of ageing? It's Vegas dear. I think she must do a bit of dance moves (just like Honey) or a bit of energetic walks and hand gestures. But overall, I really enjoyed the show. This is her most entertaining show for years. I really appreciate of what MC is doing right now. I'm eager to watch her but I can't. Out of 5 stars, I'll give her 3 for now.

Vegas Love Takes Time (53,105) by Licia from USA
She killed it. I haven't heard her sing that in years and she was on fire. I loved it. I have seen all the clips, but that one is the best. LTT is a hard song and she ran through it with her current voice like a pro. I was proud for her.

Ain't no false pretence? (53,104) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Let's get one thing straight. Not every poster on this board is a certified lamb. It's ridiculous to even think that when it's obvious some of them are not even fans anymore, if in fact they were ever that in the first place, let alone diehard lambs. At least a handful only post so they can quote themselves later in whatever publication or media outlet that was duped into hiring them as writers and opinionaters. Anybody who thinks entertainment press is unbiased is delusional. It's also full of corruption and susceptible to manipulation by various "agendas" and camps. The media at large can be used both as a weapon against somebody/something as well as a buffer or shield. For reference, see TMZ's Harvey Levin: "I just wanna say that there were 'a lot of people' that were saying and telling us, they said that she wasn't ready for this thing, she wasn't rehearsing enough, that it wasn't gonna be good. No, no, what we said was, we were talking to people who were in her camp. Some of them, remember, left. And they said..." The quotes and surrounding convo can be found in this link. The conversation between Harvey and his TMZ staff about Mariah's Vegas dress rehearsal audio starts at 25:00 and ends at 28:00. That entire 3 minute exchange/segment illustrates the above points I've been making since last year. Fritos all around.
