"When she is caught lipsync it's because she wants it to"? Lol, could you run that by us again. Regarding Jamaica, the whole concert was a disaster with "Fantasy" and "We belong together". Let's just forget about it and move on. Focus on Vegas and hope Mariah slays. And hope that she wears more better ensembles.

I find it comical and odd that you are concerned about "the haters" when you choose one of the biggest Mariah haters of all time as your profile picture. What's up with that?

Ardis / Alison (49,932)
by Edward from USA

Ardis, you only have to see the trajectory of Alison's life to realize whether what she says should be taken with a grain of salt or not. Why do you think a judge would give Mariah custody of Michael if he didn't consider the child wasn't in good hands. How many times have you heard about Morgan or Patricia trying to leech on Mariah or using her name for personal reasons? Alison was offered various opportunities to get her life straight once Mariah was making good money, but instead of grabbing those opportunities she decided to go on with the life that she had chosen. When you're an addict is not as easy to just change, but when you have a support system willing to help you, you have to do your part too. Alison decided to go and keep on having babies knowing there was a possibility of them being born with HIV, that's being selfish to me. I hope they reconcile because they are family, but attempting at discrediting Mariah wouldn't only make things worse after everything Mariah has done for her.

#1's (49,930)

I think Mariah should keep her onstage banter short and sweet. An example before Fantasy she could say this song was inspired by The Tom Tom Club's Genius Of Love and sing the first verse chorus and bridge and move on. It would make such a daunting show easier vocally. She needs a stylist and manager asap. Just some idea.

I was thinking about your idea and I liked it but thought that it would be difficult to pull off. Even if it can't be done in real life for the actual concert, it can at least be done for the DVD. She could style her hair according to different eras at each concert. For example, her hair could be curly for one concert, curly with the front straightened for another concert, the Honey remix video hairstyle (the one she wore with the maid outfit on Ellen) for another, and the long straight hair from ISIL for another. She can wear 4 dresses or outfits to go with each era: Ingénue Era (Mariah Carey, Emotions, Unplugged), Girl Next Door Era (Music Box, Merry Christmas, Daydream), Sex Symbol Era (Butterfly, Rainbow, Glitter), Emancipated Era (Charmbracelet, Emancipation of Mimi, E=MC2). Personally I like the Ellen housekeeping hairstyle the best.

Damage repair (49,927)
by Darryle from USA
| |
|
|
To get back on top Mariah has to do major damage control. She needs to be in TEOM mode x10. She has got to shed the diva image and show the world that she can still sing. First and foremost she needs to nail the Vegas shows. Every single show needs to be TAOM tour worthy or better. When she's not doing Vegas she needs to be out there performing on shows like Good Morning America, The Voice, and every award show available. To shed the diva image she needs to do a tell all interview with someone like Oprah, Barbra Walters, or Matt Lauer. She has to be open about everything she's been through. Her divorce, American Idol, her most recent album's failure, her sister, Ariana Grande etc. Doing this would allow the GP to see Mariah in a different light. It'd make her seem more down to earth and approachable. Lastly she needs a wardrobe change. No more ballgowns and mermaid hair. If she does these things then there is a chance of seeing Mariah back on top.

Ardis I'm guessing you're either young or a new fan because all of that is old news. It was very shocking when it first came out, because Mariah was marketed as "squeaky clean" in the beginning. (Fresh-faced, covered up, riding her horse, etc.) By now, we've all accepted it and she's even talked about it. Not a lot, because she's always said she didn't want for her personal life to be the focus of her career. For me, it makes me like her even more knowing she isn't perfect and didn't have the perfect life. We don't know the circumstances of why her brother took her to Studio 54. Just because she was there doesn't automatically mean she was using drugs. He was probably watching her the whole time. Maybe he was watching her, but had to go to work, so instead of leaving her alone he brought her. We don't know. He was also young and immature which means he probably wasn't making the best choices at the time. I think we've all made thoughtless choices when we were younger. The thing with Alison, when people are using certain drugs, they turn into sociopaths. Meaning they don't have empathy and only care about themselves. I'm guessing she divulged that information when she was high or in desperate need of a fix. I'm sure she was a prostitute before and didn't become one only to help Mariah pay for limo rides and clothes. But she's going to frame it that way to make Mariah feel guilty so that she can get money out of her. It doesn't mean that Alison is a horrible person, at her core she's probably good. But drugs turn people into Mr. Hyde. Mariah helped Allison's kids and also tried to help her. We can't force people to get better, though, because we each have free-will to choose our own destiny. If somebody chooses to self destruct, we can offer to help them, but if they reject our help, at some point we have to let them choose their own way. Sometimes we have to cut them off to save ourselves.

The voice (49,924)
by Otti from Belgium
| |
|
|
I think the [...] between Mariah and other pop singers is, that Mariah never has been a hype. If you go back to her early performances and take a look at the audiences at her concerts, most of them are adults, when she was only in her twenties. And Baby from Sweden got it right, why are concerts of Madonna, Britney or Katy always a perfect show? The answer is their concerts are from the beginning until the end fake, every song is lypsync, always the dancers, vulgarity on stage, and other things to distract the attention from real singing. Mariah, on the other hand, is just singing the whole show. She can't hide behind sexy dancers or big stage productions. When she is caught lipsync at her concert is because she wants it to. Like this part is real, this part is not. It's just her, no script. She is always honest about her voice, I remember when she did promo for E=MC2, she said 'I'm thankful, when I recorded this album my voice was in a good shape." The "We belong together" performance in Jamaica, I don't know, it's like she went back stage, but wax still singing. And not like some people are saying, that the pre recorded track kept playing. What do you think lambs?

So just because someone is a known drug user you just dismiss anything they have to say? Take it with a grain of salt if you like. In my experience I have noticed that usually people who use drugs so heavily have a reason. She obviously has been through a lot in her life. I'm not saying I believe every word either, but Mariah herself has talked about negative things from her own childhood as well. So it seems as if there is some truth to her alligations.

Ardis / read very carefully (49,920)
by Edward from USA

Alison won't ever be able to pay Mariah for the support she's given her and her son Michael. Mariah got Michael under her wings as if he was her own son, took care of him in every aspect, paid for his college tuition. Mariah doesn't owe her anything. Mariah even paid for Alison's rehab a couple of times, but Alison didn't seem to want to help herself, that's why Mariah got primary custody of her son. I'm all for family, and I do hope they get together, talk and make up. Everything that Alison says should be taken with a grain of salt. We may be a little unhappy with Mariah's performances lately, but we do love her nonetheless. I would really like to see things from Alison's point of view, but I can't shove my head that far up in my ass.

If what you say is true that Mariah will "make him eat his own words" about Nathan, then shouldn't we be glad that his words actually sparked the fire in her to prove him and everyone else wrong? After all nothing else seems to be motivating her to stop delivering one bad performance after another. There is no doubt Mariah is what she is today based on her own merits, but seriously, you really think MC is great as her own manager? Have you really not seen what went down when she was left to manage herself? Heck it has been that way since she hired Randy and Jermaine also since they were only "managers" by name but she was calling the shots and we have all seen how that went down. Perhaps not letting critics get somewhat the best of her isn't so good for an entertainer because if she would have been looking at the news, she would have not have been making one mistake after another. You talk about haters, when you are spewing hatred yourself on others every day. No one here has the time to sit and write about MC if they didn't love her or want the best for her. So excuse us for wanting MC to rise again and slay the charts, while you keep coddling her with the same issh that people around her are doing only to make her dig a grave for her career. Your little "MC can do no wrong" will do nothing but dim the fire in her more because she will see no reason to improve herself. Because how can one improve perfection?

And since when is being a bad lip-sincer not a good thing? / loss of hearing speculation (49,917)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
So now Mariah is such a disaster as a singer she can't even fake it anymore, huh? Some of you must be born without any traces of fun in your DNA because Mariah is the master of lip syncing. She's so good at it she can sing double the speed without batting an eye. Any "making the video of" is proof of that. I don't see what the big deal is that she can't do it as well as others live, I like that Mariah is such a bad liar and lousy at being fake. Some singers are so good at it they have the public fooled 90% of the time. It's why they can undertake massive tours year after year making more money on selling concert patrons ridiculously priced tickets. How do you manage to always sound the same no matter what? Something that might be actually screwing with Mariah, and this is pure speculation on my part, is loss of hearing or some other ear problem. It's not as farfetched and ludicrous as Mariah being on drugs and drunk since 1996. And let's not pretend she hasn't always avoided doing lengthy tours for most of her life because she understands the limitations of having a fragile voice and the need to preserve it for recording instead of wasting it trying to prove to haters she can still sing as well as ever. Mariah didn't get where she is by listening to everybody who had something negative to say. She got here by listening to positive reinforcements and encouragement. The Lambily you Mariah, make like it's 8th grade and don't pay the haters any attention.

I don't know why people want to paint him as her throat doctor, psychiatrist and personal trainer all rolled into one giant BFF after that tacky libellous FB post. Mariah will make him eat his words. Such a dumb move, Mariah isn't some punk. She might not be vocal about her dislike but she knows how to cut you off at the knees if you try to come for her for no reason. I wonder what Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman have to say. Doesn't really matter because it works itself brilliantly, Mariah could easily duet One Sweet Day with a slew of male singers she's worked with in the past and even new collaborators. Usher, 98°, Joe, Dru Hill, Michael Bolton, Justin Timberlake, Trey Lorenz, John Legend, Miguel, R. Kelly, Elton John, Eric Benet, Trey Songs etc. A lot of this is plain sexism. Mariah has achieved all her successes on her own merit, hard work, determination, humility and unmovable faith. She's been without a manager for the better part of a year proving she is very capable managing herself even at her most vulnerable. She hasn't even come close to falling apart like so many of the haters want. She has kept her composure and not cowered or let critics get the best of her. Mariah is actually someone who lives by her own advice, it's the reason she's so loved by us lambs, her integrity and complete lack of cunning or deception. She isn't perfect but that was never her claim. Betting against by Mariah Carey never paid off for anybody. It won't pay our now.

Morgan terrorized Mariah? (49,910)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
| |
|
|
Mariah's sister Allison wtote a book called "Mariah and Me, obtained exclusively by Star, contains the following shocking allegations: While Mariah was struggling for a break, Alison, who is HIV-positive, paid for clothes and limo rides for the aspiring singer by selling her body for sex. Mariah, who married music mogul Tommy Mottola when she was just 23, once had a relationship with a drug dealer that continued after he was sent to prison. Their childhood home was anything but a safe-haven - their parents fought bitterly, their older brother Morgan terrorized Mariah and Alison was the victim of sexual abuse starting at age 5." Yes, they are just allegations, but they could be true. Mariah Carey battles for her honor

B, leave the shame to those who deserve it. Be proud, your posts are always fair and balanced. So please don't let [censored] people stop you from enjoying your trip to Vegas and the amazing experience that is sure to be. I'm confident Mariah and her team will deliver a great show just like she did at the Beacon. We all know none of them will ever tell her to her face even a whisper of all the stupidity they post online. They don't really want Mariah to do better, they just want to make airs. Be thankful that when the going got tough you didn't join the weak and easily impressionable in their ranks. Let them compete about who can be the most negative and faithless [censored]. It's quite amusing if you let it be. I'm really jealous of all the lambs that get to go to Vegas this year, like you, since I am grounded (doctors orders) and can only travel by land or water. I might still chance it to New York (shhh) but Vegas is too risky. Mariah, please come to Europe for a concert, I don't care where. As long as I don't have to fly there, I'm there.
