After the tour (47,826)
by Abraham from USA
| |
|
|
I was wondering what Mariah's plans are after the tour? Is she going to rest and get ready for the next album? I think she'll release it sometime in the summer. Or maybe sooner. Any thoughts? I know she has some good music on the way. I think the album will be another "TEOM". Now that she's singing live again, that's one less problem out of the way. Next will be to release good singles. One thing I'm looking forward to Christmas is seeing Mariah on tv.

Mariah's hair (47,825)

She has never worn wigs. She always uses those mermaid extensions for shows, but she's getting lazy and using that horrid wig lately. It looks awful and should be burned.

I didn't "twist" your words, I repeated them. As you correctly stated previously, we bought multiple copies. We did what we could from our end. However, Mariah's never sold millions here because her "lambs" buy multiple copies, it's because the general public does as well. As I've previously stated, we've bought millions of her albums in the past but were jipped on tours nonetheless. Mariah's always been given credit for her accomplishments. You seem to be confusing gossip with credible sources which are vastly becoming non-existent on a worldwide basis. Even CNN is starting to repeat tabloids. Less talented artists aren't given "credit" as much as they are simply gossiped about. No artist in America has gone platinum in 2014. We still bought more copies than Australia did, but America is far larger. None of this changes the fact that Mariah pushed her album back 2 years and didn't promote it. Her label didn't advertise and that's not going to grab the general public. On New Year's eve Mariah told us May 6th would be the release and then pushed it back another 3 weeks right before release. "Faith" isn't going to bring the masses to the arenas here on an album she didn't bother to promote. America needs visuals for appeal and has a short attention span. If MC doesn't want to promote than it's only logical that she moves on to the next project. So far, that appears to be what she's doing with Christmas.

Only [...] Mariah was on fire in Adelaide. That woman is like a fenix, reborn from the ashes a million times. That intro to Emotions, My All, Cry, Hero. She nailed them all. Forget the drama, the gowns, the hair because it's all about the voice. Go on Mariah. Show dem chickens how it's done.

Nikki don't twist my words, I know what I said. Yes US fans bought 1 million copies of Beautiful but you didn't buy the album. That's my point. I don't think US appreciates Mariah anymore. You guys preach but you don't walk the walk. I'm sorry for being blunt but like I said Big Jim is right. Promote, support more if you want the tour. Besides, the lack of faith you're showing doesn't help. America seems to forget she has nothing to prove and she just enjoy her achievements and this tour for the fans. America demands too much of her and give credit to weaker arists. Funny how you guys ask for new material, when you don't support anything she does. But I'm glad Mariah will keep doing music no matter what.

The Elusive Chanteuse Show Shanghai Concert in total (47,818)

This might be my favourite Chinese show sonically. I'll die if Mariah doesn't bring the Elusive tour to Europe next year. And I'll die just the same if she does. It is what it is I guess. Fly like a bird, take to the sky and land on my continent. Please God, make it happen.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I love AIWFCIY and how it puts a smile on my face. I choose to ignore any drama and fight fire with snow at this time of year. I love Miss You Most too. Gosh, that whole album is Christmas perfection. Here's wishing you all here a great Christmas season.

by Edward from USA

Stacey, I appreciate the dedication. There's not better way to shake off the drama and start the holiday season with such a performance of "All I Want For Christmas Is You", it was epic. My favorite Christmas song is "Miss You Most At Christmas Time". Thanks for sharing that slightly R&Bish version of it with me some time ago, I always listen to it. By the way, I got my tickets to see Mariah in December. I was there when she sung "With You I'm Born Again" with John Legend for the VH1 Save the Music special. The Beacon Theater is an intimate place to see such a star like Mariah, I'm can wait.

Get into the season (47,809)
by Stacey from USA

I choose to flick the drama off my shoulders by posting such a wonderful song to kick off the Christmas season. 20 years ago this song was released. Hard to believe, I know. And to this day it remains an absolute classic in the same league as White Christmas and The Christmas Song. Here's to my "boyfriend" Edward, lol. Even though I'm a happily married woman to a wonderful man for 13 years.

Wally's world: we just live in it (47,807)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

Some posters, all over these internets, need their lamb passes revoked because the love for Walter has reached mythical proportions at this point. Even Tommy has a fan following for heaven's sake. Never mind the misery Mariah called her life back then. Let's make her go back to abusive and emotionality taxing relationships because we want the elusive #19. Talk about sacrificial lambs.

You do realize stating that the US lambs "didn't care" about the album while stating you knew we bought several copies is an oxymoron onto itself, right? Mariah rarely ever tours the US period. She also jipped us out of the Daydream and Butterfly tours. What was the reason for that? It couldn't be because we didn't buy enough. We broke records with sales and singles. We also bought over a million copies of #Beautiful last year. Her sales have been low in Australia and critics are far worse over here. Most likely, she won't be able to sell out arenas. As much as I'd love for her to come over here, I don't think it's wise now and she doesn't need anymore bad press. I think she should finish her tour and do her Christmas rounds. I hope Christmas is a special that gets televised, especially if she wants to make it annual. Then, get back to working on that voice and do new material.

Walter (47,804)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|
|
Why are we speculating? Walter himself said what happened. Mariah separated from Tommy, and as far as she was concerned, you were either on his side or hers. Walter's hands were tied because he was under contract at Sony. She felt he should have considered their friendship and partnership ahead of that, but he didn't. He said all this in an interview not that long ago. She's moved on and her music grew in breadth as a consequence which was a great thing. It proved that nobody was indispensable. Sure, I love songs like And You Don't Remember, When I Saw You and Anytime You Need A Friend, and I wonder what work they'd be doing now had they remained friends. But at what cost? No We Belong Together, Fly Like A Bird, Can't Take That Away? I feel the same about Ben Margulies. Had their partnership remained, maybe we'd have no Hero, All I Want For Christmas Is You and One Sweet Day.

Walter (47,802)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|
|
Lambs, seriously why are we all still on about the Walter dude? It's gone, let it go, They haven't worked together since 1997, why are you all suddenly missing him after like 17 years now? Yes they certainly made a lot of great music together, some of which are the songs most loved by her fans, but I seriously don't see why so many of you are desperate for her to get back with him? We don't know what went wrong and if Mariah doesn't want to work with him, she won't do it. If she chooses to work with him, that's her decision too. Even after Butterfly Mariah has continued to make amazing masterpieces and memorable songs. It's not like without Walter her songs have deteriorated. Infact I am happy that she is making songs she loves and I for one enjoy them. Don't get me wrong, I love the big ballads and all, but I absolutely adore Mariah's hip hop and R&B touches. Now people have different tastes and everyone has the right to talk about anything on this board, but this Walter thing is like going on for too long. Mariah is doing fine without him. Her music never failed to amaze me. She keeps upping her game with each album and each song. The kind of variety MC has given us, I doubt many other artists can claim that.

Big Jim warns the US lambily, I agree (47,801)
by Carol from Spain
| |
|
|
Big Jim's tweet about warning the lambs about the US tour is right on. US lambily didn't respond to the record, it's true. Honestly, they failed and didn't care and now they want Mariah to tour. I know many fans bought the album, several copies and stuff but she can't tour the US with just 125,000 albums sold. It''s not right. Maybe I'm wrong. Please don't bash me for being saying my mind. I honestly don't know what to think about it. I just think Big Jim is spot on with that tweet.
