Pop music / Glitter (47,899) by Lee TS from USA I hope Mariah would explore into doing some fun poppy music like working with Max Martin. Love it or hate it but he's created some incredible catchy tunes. Never been a huge Taylor Swift fan but I first heard her new track Blank Space in the car and was instantly addicted. But then became Obsessed when I saw the video directed by Joseph Kahn. Where was this creativity for #Beautiful? I wish Mariah never works with that Indrani woman again, YME was a complete and total mess. All videos from here on out should be directed by her Aries brother Brett Ratner, only he brings out the best in her. Nathaniel on Australian radio about touring with Mariah (47,895) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End His 5 minutes part comes on at the tail end of the 11/11 podcast from today. Unlike a certain Buffon, Nathaniel was very sweet and professional when he spoke of his experience. I hope he gets more international exposure. His tone is very pleasing to the ear. Who knew he could hold his own so effortlessly on a song as sacred as OSD? I don't know if even Trey has ever attempted that. Mariah even sang her parts a lot differently than I've ever heard, probably because she was responding to Nathaniel's foreign musicality. I really want them to do a proper duet in the studio. Hero performance (47,893) by Joe from United Kingdom Not to sound negative as Mariah's voice is now in much better shape and sounding great, but she usually lips the same lines in Hero which are the "way" and then "comes along" then "survive" and "hope is gone" in exactly that order. You can hear the tone switch from 2014 Mariah to a lowered version of the original studio version. Since someone asked. I'm sure she could hit those notes if she wanted to as she'll usually hit the exact same note two songs later, but I'm just happy that what is live is sounding good. Hero (below) not "lipped" (47,892) by Spir Ja from USA That was great. No that was all live, the transition phrases right before way were knocked out and improved, and that is a hard transition, but the money note she hit and held. Her voice is totally intact but it is, on the edges, like a bit of grated glass. It's from damage way back I think nodes. God bless Rye's professionalism and heart that she's sharing out there, live for all to see, I'm sure it's horrific for her to experience the playbacks at times, she's brave and I hope she talks about it someday. It's been a year (47,891) by Manny from U.S. A year ago exactly Mariah shared with us "The Art of Letting go". Even though some parts of the lyrics are not so strong, I can relate to the concept. I love the simplicity of the song; her voice and the accompaniment. She released it when I thought I was getting back with an ex. Sadly, it was not meant to be. The part "And they watch as you're falling down" still gets to me. I also enjoyed the Jimmy Fallon surprise for her fans. It's one of my favorite videos of Mariah interacting with her fans. Re: "Across 110th Street" (47,889) by Billy from Greece Something more regarding its inclusion in the tour: according to the Same Same article reviewing one of the Australian "Chanteuse" shows, they write this: "Across 110th Street is a movie of an African-American and Italian-American police duo that grapeoplees with important themes of power and race relations. 110th street being the boundary for Harlem. If you've been to New York, 110th Street is a long way from One World Trade Centre. It's been characterised as being part of the genre of Blaxploitation." The Womack song is an anthem about the struggle to get out of the ghetto. Maybe there is a concept behind using it to open the show, in relation to the "chanteuse" persona MC supports in the show (gowns, jazz covers, sitting on the piano). Great song in any case. Mariah the boss (47,888) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End Mariah does best when she trusts her own inner voice and keeps her faith as a compass when things get rocky. She didn't sell her songs during those early days before Warner and Sony were fighting to sign her, even though she was a dirty poor, hungry and desperate 18 year old girl. Why? Because she knew her worth as a singer songwriter and was confident enough, thank God, to trust that her vision of love would come to be. Going with her passion has paid off more often than not. M's worst decisions seem to come about from letting outside pressures into her head. That's why her being without a manager right now is a good thing IMO. It's going to force her to figure out what she really wants out of her life at this point, streamline it if you will. The longer MC is without a manager, the better. Being the boss of her own enterprises will do her a world of good as well as those who work for her. Them being directly accountable to her, even for a short period of time is always going to be a good thing. Keeps everybody on their toes. Mimi deserves to be happy with her children, live a full, passionate and long life with a man who loves her for the real person she is, and dembabies too, as genuinely as she will love them. Mariah's never going to give up making music, fingers crossed, and she doesn't owe me, or anyone else for that matter, anything. She's already given the public her all for close to 25 years. He passed away just this June and so I guess Mariah's paying him tribute in that way. Remember: "If you think you're lonely now" (wait until tonight, girl) from WBT? Then, set on ending her career rather than seeing her soar without him. Walter pops up every other Christmas and can't seem to stop talking about her. Eminem has a few encounters with her and can't shut up for a decade. Nick was openly crushing on her for years on tv before meeting her and continued until they were married. Luis Miguel simply met her, made her his girlfriend, and jetted around the world with her for 2 years. Damizza can't completely let her go. Far more amusing, The Rock stopped an interviewer in mid-sentence to hug her and chat her up. Heck, who am I kidding? I met Mariah 12 years ago and I can't stop talking about her. Mariah in Melbourne (47,880) by Todd from Sydney, Australia I just had a weekend with not one, but two Mariah concerts. She was absolutely phenomenal. The videos that I have recorded and seen online don't do her justice. The Friday night show in Melbourne was definitely the better of the two, the Yarra Valley one was too short, felt bad for the audience because I knew what they were missing out on. I do wish she'd sung a bit of AIWFCIY, but hell we got One Sweet Day instead. Friday was definitely the best concert I've seen, even better than the January 2013 Australian shows. Especially, after the recent article where you chastise Mariah for reinventing "Want" a couple of times over 20 years, for new generations and genres no less. Then, actually assume she's trying to surpass the original, but now you've reinvented the song? For real? Sour grapes indeed. Hypocrisy to boot. Lambs, do correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know there's only the R&B/hip-pop version with a cartoon video, and the Justin B. duet for the emerging EDM crowd. Both are targeting different audiences. It's a smart business move and refreshing to change things up once in a blue moon. I agree with Jay and Baby. Walter hasn't known Mariah for 17 years. Fool, please, if you cared you wouldn't trash her in public by acting like you know what's up with her. You couldn't control her and clearly she didn't need you to. Why is he still talking about her? Josephine is riding in the car with MC in the Emotions video, she went on to be a talk show host in her native Sweden. Once and awhile you can still see the two of them vacationing together. Neither Walter nor his co-hosts knew that "Emblazoned" was an actual word. No wonder why Mariah made that comment on Watch What Happens Live about "AIWFCIY". Walter is thirsty, but Mariah's not giving him anything to drink. I think it is time for him to move one, because I'm pretty sure Mariah won't work with him again, she doesn't need him.
