Not embracing new female artist (41,308) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Okay I'm gonna have to say that's not true. Mariah has praised and shown love for Beyonce, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Jasmine Sullivan, Kelly Rowland, Jordin Sparks and yes even Nicki. I just think she has an issue with artists that aren't original or is the "poor man's version" of another artist. In all fairness maybe she truly isn't impressed with the fact that Ariana and her label purposely tried to steal her sound and market her as the new Mariah. I'm not saying she should be nasty by any means, but she also doesn't have to be fake and act as if she's impressed or a fan of someone she's not really a fan of or respect as an artist IMO. I didn't really see the shade, like really can someone quote exactly what she said that was "shady or mean spirited"? Did she say it in the other interview? Maybe I missed it, because what she said on the Breakfast Club didn't exhibit shade to me. Also keep in mind she actually has a life that evolves her children and working diligently in the studio, so it's very likely she doesn't keep up with what's going on with everybody else. It's called being focused.

Rambling on and on (41,307) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA
There is a method to her madness. Everyone is upset she doesn't answer questions. She does this on purpose people. Mariah is one artist that people [...] to hate. [...] she says is put under scrutiny, over analyzed, taken out of context, criticized, belittled, is condescended to or been made fun of. She is now in [...] control of what she speaks. The reporters and interviewers she only sees as her medium. Her "way" for expression. She doesn't allow being cornered anymore. She just digresses, dances around the subject, and then embarks on some random, distracting tangent of her choice. The reason it seems incoherent or detached is because, as I mentioned before, [...] Come one, we all know that cool or funny person that, after a few drinks may be a bit over the top, full of themselves, though they may be a great person. [...] All her other antics (divanisms) are only a smoke screen to dealing with her insecurities; talking about bad lighting, adjusting in her chair strategically hiding what "she thinks" is her fat, nervously twitching her hair (but masking it behind diva antics), wearing her glasses [...] a studio, hiding behind the radio host for picture time. These are all just manifestations of her insecurities and her attempt to hide them "in a way that no body can tell (supposedly)" because the just brush them off as, "oh, diva lady". Unfortunately, she is sadly mistaken, we can all see it and feel concern.

?Insecurity: the dismantling desease (41,306) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA
It is very sad to see how the older she gets, the more her insecurities obvious. We have to think though, can you imagine having the best voice in the history of recorded music, where she, at one point, could literally do whatever she wanted with her voice [...], while now, that is no longer the case (though, even with whatever damage her larynx has endured, she can still out sing even if only in the studio 95% of the other artists out there). It didn't matter what was on the video, who was dancing on stage or what the props were. When she was belting a-la Vision Of Love, Love Takes Time, Forever, Dreamlover [...] cared what was going on around her. They just wanted to [...]. We know she can't dance, she's a bit awkward in front of the camera and her acting skills are still in question. [...] She has too much compensation to undertake in an effort to achieve the same level of interest we showered her with when her voice was at its peak (Daydream). Unfortunately, that is [...] going to happen. Her voice has set the bar to unattainable levels. That being said, even though she's always acting fluffy, effervescent, happy-go-lucky and bubbly. I can assure you that in her core, this inevitable and continually unraveling truth concerns her within. She, like most of us, is just not dealing with her realities correctly. Her response to this problem should be to [...] the alcohol. Come on guys. Open your eyes. [...]

Creativity (41,305) by Matthew from USA
Remember that Mimi is very controlling. Even with the videos. She hired this Indrina girl to direct it, and then I'm sure she started dictating shots and editing out things she didn't like and even Mimi calls it a "co-directorial" effort, which pretty much means she hired the girl and then proceeded to direct the video herself anyway. I think that's why some ideas for the video don't seem to be developed. She's like that with her songs too. No one sends Mariah songs because they know that she will insist on changing something so she can get writing credit. When they asked her to do the Disney song, she had to "re-touch" it before she would agree to do it. It's the same with production. JD has said many times how it's always a struggle because Mariah keeps pushing for more urban sounds when he sometimes wants her to go with more ballads. So what does this all mean? Well it's good and bad. The good is that whenever we get something from MC, we can be sure it's 90-100% her. The bad is that it is unlikely things will change because ideas from the outside won't get it in if you insist on controlling everything. So it's a balancing act. On the one hand, we don't want her to become a Rihanna, who pretty much just shows up in the studio when it's time to record. On the other hand, she needs to learn to ease up and let some other people's ideas blossom so the videos and songs don't all sound the same.

Remixes (41,304) by Lyric from USA
The remixes are pretty bad. I think if she's going to do EDM remixes she should reach out to some of the better producers (Calvin Harris, Zedd, etc). Her vocals also sound really dry on them. I think this is a case where the original trumps the remixes by far.

Mariah is stuck in her ways (41,303) by Lyric from USA
I'm not sure what people are expecting here. Mariah has been who she is for 40+ years. Even she claims the person she was during the early "Mary Poppins" days, wasn't her true personality. If people are expected a personality change at this stage in her life, you probably won't get it. I don't always like what she says and I think she was pretentious in The Breakfast Club interview. But I never expect her to be down to earth because she hasn't been in years. Perhaps people are to reliant on who she is as opposed to focusing on the music. At the end of the day, that's all she owes us. Not a personality fitting to our standards.

Thank you D, I finally found it (41,302) by Gilbert from USA
However, I want my own copy. Lol. By the way, the one I'm also looking forward to hearing is the Beautiful Dance Mix that she played a clip of when she called the Lamb Line.

Video Your're Mine and mediabase (41,301) by Carlos Belizário from Brazil
Hi guys, maybe I'm wrong but I do think that the remix video is going to somehow connect to the video of the original mix. Maybe show the past of the relashionship shown in the first video or how Mariah ended in the rainforest. I'm positive about it. Also, isn't the song growing in rotation in radio? That helps the dowloads. We gotta keep requesting, it's 2.500 something in mediabase. I live in Brazil so a song usually plays here only if it's a success in USA. Keep going lambs.

Gilbert / remix (41,300) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada

The Jumpsmokers posted an official remix on their Facebook page. MDJ posted a link on their website. I don't see anything on iTunes either, but MC's Facebook page says dance remixes will drop today.

You're mine (eternal) (41,299) by Isaac Ortiz from USA
I agree with Paul. I'm disappointed with the song. It's boring and gave me nothing I wanted. Where is the music? I'm going to give Mariah the benefit of the doubt and hope that she is saving the best for last, which is on the album.

Beautiful vs. You're Mine (41,298) by Jeremey Carey from United States
I don't like to compare her songs, but You're Mine is a step in the right direction (in my opinion). It has a story and the ending note reminds everyone why she is the one and only Mariah Carey. A chart topper I think yes. I was so surprised at how much radio play Beautiful was getting and how catchy it was. You're Mine is a grower that will get stuck in your head 5x worse than Beautiful. My sister and friends love You're Mine from the start, but Beautiful had to grow on them. That alone gives me hope. Once the song gets fully released to radio, we lambs need to request the song as best we can, watch the video as many times as we can, And finally sit back and watch Mariah display why she is the queen and was never dethroned. As long as we do our part, the magic of the songs hidden hooks will do theirs. For those of you who don't like the song, listen to it three times in a row and then see if you can get it out of your head.

Remixes (41,297) by Jeremey Carey from United States
Will the views for the remix videos and their downloads count towards Mariah Carey's position on Billboard or will they be treated individually? Does anyone know from past remixes or anything?

Will the real MC come back? drop the diva-tude schtick (41,295) by ADAM from USA
This diva attitude as of lately is not cute or endearing to anyone other than herself - who obviously thinks she's the real life Regina George. I am her biggest fan but I can look at her music and behavior objectively unlike a lot of her fans on here. It's really sad that she is so insecure that she cannot age gracefully and behave like other icons. Patti, Aretha, and even Whitney in regards to ushering new talents in the industry and basking in your former glory. Whenever these legends are asked about other female singers they always give some sort of feedback. Mariah can never acknowledge another female star without some catty comment or side eye. Even JLo whose the same age as Mariah and has similar fame in her own right is positive about MC and is not shaken about other females. The Ariana Grande shade was very mean spirited because you know she's heard her music before and especially since Nick is a DJ there's no excuse that she doesnt know todays modern music. I just think that it must have hurt a lot to have MC not even acknowledge Ariana as a person when in the past she's always been so nice about MC in interviews. Its ashame because Ariana is so young and you would think that having a daughter would have made her softer to accept young girls in the game. In closing, I don't think MC will change, only get worse as the media continues to blow smoke to her because she's one of the last living legends.

OK, let's stop it (41,294) by R&B Junkie from Poland
Why is everybody here complaining so much? JD did great job as a manager, the way the new single exploded is amazing. We got the song, its remix and a video almost on the same day. All these radio and TV interviews - Mariah's behaviour wasn't that bad. MTV (as a network) isn't serious itself, so why she should be "just decent", why not acting weird just for fun? Same with morning radio interviews when people are on their way to work, why is it so bad to entertain them? Come on people. A guy telling you into your face that you're national treasure. She's some kind of modest person, turning it into a joke was the best she could did. Or maybe you all would rather prefer her to agree and be like "yes I am, praise me now". Is this and all these Number 1's obssesion of MC's fans the only way to inflate their egos? Go and find yourselves a hobby instead of demanding Mariah to act this or that way. Tommy time is over. Period.

Interviews, what I expect (41,292) by Edward from USA
On interviews pertaining this era I expect Mariah to bring the attention to the single and the music to come. I didn't hear "You're Mine (Eternal)" playing or even introduced to be played on the interviews I've watched. People need to know about the single, and its versions. I don't mind Mariah being fun, and goofy as long as she talks about the single, the album, the process of putting the song together, that should be the main focus of the interviews. Mariah Carey has given wonderful interviews before without being robotic or detached. "You're Mine (Eternal)" will rise on iTunes as they keep on adding it to different radio stations, but we need a couple of performances to take advantage of the momentum.

Mariah (41,290) by George Golden from UK
Why is Mariah still doing the same song and video over and over again? We know you are beautiful, but enough with all this naked videos. She is predictable, it's a joke now. It kills me to see people saying she is doing fine when apparently all is not well. Try something different, don't paint the same picture over and over again. What is Jermaine doing as her manager? She has got yes people around her and the creativity has stalled. Her friend is her stlylist, her friend is her manager, it's really sad the way she is going. Tommy was very influencial in making her the star she is today and it is evident now. Her wanting to be black more than anything else has ruined her seriously. Wanting to do hip hop tracks and rnb has resticted her from growth and it's really sad. You guys can thump down my comments but the truth is hard to swallow. The song is mediocre at best. Is she afraid to sing? What's going on? Her voice is amazing but she is still bent singing songs that she feels is black music. Sing for everyone that is why you are Mariah Carey. Having yes people around her is going to harm her career seriously. Did Jermaine think that this song and video were amazing? Really?

Licia (41,289) by Darryle from USA
So I get why you're saying why hasn't anyone mentioned the good interviews and I think the reason is because they're just that. Good interviews, they aren't groundbreaking 60 minutes or something, they're basically what you expect to hear from Mariah in a good interview.

The shade (41,288) by Ms. Giselle from USA
I agree with those about Ariana. I admit, I did get her at first. I actually really do like her. I think she's a very nice girl. Her voice is totally different then Mariah's.Her "whistle" isn't good and she's even admitted that. I do think when she performs it's a tad bit Mariah. She's always said nice things about Mariah even to the point of putting MC up and lowering herself so to not compare. Mariah never has much to say about other female singers. She comes off as very insecure, even about AI. I actually believe Nicki, looking back Nicki is also a person who paid Mariah a lot of respect. She even mentioned "Someday", what non fan do you know who name drops that? None. I'm turned off by this behavior. She's acting like Lifetime tv version of a bad actress playing a over the top diva. She's always been a diva but she still was the down to earth, girl next door that everyone was rooting for. Something has changed, the world has changed. Nobody likes a diva. People want to feel like they connect with you and that your down to earth. That's why Adele is so popular.

Whisper (41,287) by Darryle from USA
So I've noticed Mariah's been using her full voice instead of the whisper for the past few singles and I love it. I've always preferred her full voice to the whisper because when she belts it's so much stronger.

Continuation of previous message (41,286) by Darryle from USA
In my last message I talked about why I think Mariah acts and does certain things in interviews. We'll I just wanted to add on buy saying that I think part of how she acts has to do with who's interviewing her. Like the Breakfast Club they were talking about Mariah being ratchet and how she's the surfboard type. I honestly doubt she would be very serious in an atmosphere like that. But if you put here on Oprah she'll be serious because Oprah's interviews are pretty serious.
