Here is the picture (40,959)

I just saw on twitter a picture of Mariah with Trey. Please, not another duet. I know it will be interesting to hear something with both of them, but not as a lead single from a very awaited album. I do remember to listen to Inseparable with Trey and MC and I used to love it. I'm willing for a more solo single, just Mimi and us. I don't know, it sure will be better to wait before I keep talking. Anyway I will love it. Any thoughts? As you all can see it is real and it matched with the one that MC posted yesterday with the countdown for Prizeo.

What is everyone's fave MC album of the 2000s? (40,957)

I'm gonna have to go with TEOM. Nothing but positive things to say about that album. I also love Glitter, way underrated. Her vocals were amazing on the Glitter record.

Choreography (40,956)
by Ryan from the Philippines

|

I agree, she should bring back atleast a minute of dancing in her videos. Lambs know she can't dance but Mariah knows how to move. We don't need any technical choreography a la B or JLo but the Honey or Heartbreaker steps are enough to complete an uptempo Mariah track (instead of just touching her hair or worst, boobies lol). I kinda enjoy the dance steps at the end of Shake It Off though. It was short but slightly technical than any of her usual routines.

Kaizen Ocean / great lyrics (40,955)
by R&B Junkie from Poland

"Did I Do That?" lyrically, is a masterpiece. That thing with "painfully weak conversations" is something taken from my life! Other songs I love the most because of lyrics are: "Underneath The Stars", "Breakdown", "The Roof", "My All/Stay Awhile", "Cruise Control", "It's A Wrap", "Shake It Off", "If We" and "Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica)". Comment on the last two: although they consist of strong rap verses, their lyrics are beautiful (If We) and funny (Don't Stop). In case of Don't Stop I can tell that Mariah was strongly involved in writing Mystikal's lyrics since they are softened.

Mariah dancing (40,954)
by Will from Australia

I have to say I loved the minimal dance routines in Honey and Heartbreaker, two of my favourite videos. I wasn't that found of the bouncing in Shake It Off though and the overly sexy moves when she performed Obsessed live was a bit too much for me lol. I'd love a nice little routine like Honey and Heartbreaker again though. I can't wait for new music.

Danci (40,953)

Am I the only one that misses Mimi doing choreography in her videos? I'm sure people may have told her she couldn't dance or whatnot, but I actually enjoyed seeing her dance and wish she would've stuck with it. I didn't think Beyonce was the most polish dancer at first, but look at her now. All it would've taken was a little work and consistency and she would probably be tearing the stage up every now and again. Lol. So my wish for this new era is for Mimi to do a little choreo in her videos again. Nothing too heavy, just some nice hand movements, a two step here, and a strut there would be cute to see.

Did I Do That? (40,952)
by Loris from Italy
| |
|
|
My last discovery in the realm of Mariah's catalogue is Did I Do That which, actually, incorporates quite brilliant and hilarious lyrics. Some of my favorite are these ones: "'I found a love I can call my own and I owe it in part to you. You had my trust and intimacy but you threw it away. Conversations painfully weak, you were much better off when you didn't speak. But boy to tell you the truth, it was my illusion of you. And though your attention span's not that long, try to do the best you can do." Ahahah. She definitely won with this. I'm not very fond of the Rainbow album (especially of the overall structure and the heavy hip hop collaborations), but with time I started to appreciate it a bit more. Bliss is the ultimate gem on this, perfect follow-up to Long Ago and Babydoll.

Gearing up for album / best Mariah moments (40,951)
by Me. I am Carly from USA
| |
|
|
I am so excited, I can't wait for the album! I love Mariah in that tan swimsuit. Lovely. So I want to daydream a bit back into my best Mariah moments (I know, I'm obnoxious, but I can't help it). What are your best Mariah moments? Mine has to be meeting her at the Rainbow sighting in NYC and then giving a bracelet she wore on Oprah and then having her tell me later that she marketed it for Automatic Princess at Claire's, because I told her I had gotten the bracket there.

New album (40,950)

Well I've been listening to all the albums like crazy for the last month. I wonder how it will sound and how it will make me feel. She's been my all times fave for more than 16 years. So I'm pretty sure I will love it. Anybody has any ideas of how it should be?

Single/album release (40,949)
by clueey23 from USA
| |
|
|
I want MC riding around in a Maybach with the windows down blasting the new single on 2/14. Also, a release date for the album. And when the album drops I need a listening party at an Apple store in NYC and LA. I need every major publication online and hard copies to talk about the single and album. I need radio to go bananas for the new single. I need the video to be ready to be released the day the song drops. I need an interesting story line from a major director. Give me something amazing that will have everyone in love with MCs music again. I can not wait. I need her vocals in my ear. "The Art of Letting Go" still excites me when I listen.

Mariah and the Olympics (40,946)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

I don't think that's happening. Wouldn't they (the Olympics management or whatever) promote the appearance well in advance? I think after 6 days she will either announce her album date or she will simply dive into thorough promotional activities for the new single coming out in 2 weeks.

"Is Mariah going to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympics?" I don't think so, but maybe Mariah will visit you for your birthday (and maybe you will be the first to hear her new single).

Mariah at the Olympics? (40,943)
by Brad from USA
| |
|

Hi Lambs. So MC's latest little video clip that she posted over the weekend mentioned only 6 more days. The only thing I can think of in those terms are the opening ceremony of the Olympics and my 42nd birthday! Is Mariah going to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympics? Just wondering. Be well.

Mariah, Arsenio, Make It Happen (40,942)
by Tory from Australia
| |
|
|
When is Mariah going to make her triumphant return on the Arsenio Hall show? I read somewhere that he wants to bring both her and Nick on. Okay no offense, I love you Nick, but it should be only Mariah. She made her TV debut on his show and their bond is legendary. I can only imagine how epic the interview would be, from watching old performances to where she is now. I also want to hear her thoughts on that debut performance, considering how pissed she looked at certain points of the performance (especially the end) because of the band screwing up the song.

There Goes My Heart (Again) (40,940)
by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia

I never mentioned how much I love this song. I know she whispers her butt off on this one , but to me that register emotes a certain vulnerability that suits the song perfectly. The music and the way she sings in the whistle register at the end, is just so special and one of a kind to me.

Prisoner (40,939)
by Licia from USA

Am I the only person who laughs hysterically when she raps on this song? Am I the only person who would love to hear her do that again? I fast forward through the whole song just to get to her rapping. I don't laugh because it's bad, I laugh because it was so unexpected and it was awesome. It seemed like it was just a fun moment on a track. I'm kind of surprised TM allowed her to do it or even allowed it on the album.

Obsessed/Enwar00 (40,938)
by 123 from USA

I remember when I heard the song one of my friends was like, "She will never do it, but wouldn't it be cool if she did a Bianca/Mariah bit again, but this time, she would be dressed up as M&M instead of Bianca." Then the video came out. It seemed kind of rushed, like they didn't have much time to make it. I'm used to bigger productions from Brett. They could have had a funny fight scene. If there was any more Chicago fans on this board we could put one together. If you want to meet up we can start small. Lol. What clubs do you go to where they actually play Mariah? I have never heard Loverboy anywhere. The last time I heard Mariah at a club was like, two years ago, they played the Fantasy remix. I rushed to the dance floor. Did you go to her Valentine's Day concert when she came for her Angel's Advocate Tour? It was interesting to say the least.

It is hilarious that you are getting a thumbs down, but most people don't like to live in peace and love to watch drama unfold. That's why reality shows are so popular these days. Yes the Madonna line was classic, and then when she changed her image and people starting ragging on her saying she went wild she responded with, there are people out there that are a little more extreme, especially some of these "singers". She always knew how to throw an underhanded jab. I guess that is why I love "Did I Do That?" It was probably her first diss record to a past relationship. For those that don't like that song, you have to get past the beat and listen/read the lyrics. I also really like "Clown", she should have released that as well as "You Know You Got Me". Charmbracelet would have blown up.

Isaac and Licia (40,936)
by Taylor from USA

Isaac: I also love There Goes My Heart, but I agree with you that her whispering and singing in head voice made the song underwhelming. I kept anticipating more as the song goes, but it was just too timid. I understand and love that some songs are incredible without belting, like Music Box, but that song would've been incredible with her rich chest voice. Licia: I am not familiar with Da Brat outside of the collabos with Mariah, so Got A Thing 4 You was a part of the Charmbracelet re-release and that was all I know. She would sound amazing singing the entire song. It's a really soulful song that would match her range and style so perfectly.

New song (40,935)
by Austin from USA

So, I don't think the new song will be released on 2/14. But, I do believe she will perform the song during her private fan concert and release video footage from that performance onto Facebook. That will start the buzz and announce the single. Hopefully it will be properly released soon after. No one releases new singles on Friday. Except Beyonce!
