NYE (40,370) by Dav from Ireland
The NYE performance was amazing. MC in top form. I'm amazed no one on this board is referencing it. I find it ridiculous that people are comenting on her mental state. rained doctors would need to access someone for a year to come up with the conclusions you guys are. Lighten up guys. Bring on the new album.

Mariah's behaviour (40,369) by Alex from England
I find it strange that people keep raising concerns about anything and everything. When we don't have the "does she still have the voice?" argument, we're talking about her mental well-being. Oh well, in 1999 people were calling her crazy because she was having fun doing her little Bianca thing, in 2001 she was crazy because she overworked herself to the ground. 13 years later she has a mental problem because she is rambling, not answering questions directly and having fun. Oops, I almost forgot that she is "a heavy drinker". I can understand if some people are concerned or whatever, like any other lamb, I wish Mariah happiness and success. But I think it is taking it a bit too far to say that she has a mental condition. On my end, what I have noticed is that she speaks her mind a bit more openly actually (the label, American Idol) and I like it. You know, we see Mariah in an interview or wherever else with a glass of bubly and people say she drinks a lot. The truth is that it's only 10 minutes out of 24 hours. Even if she has 1 or 2 glasses of wine everyday she's not he first, not the last. I'm actually on my second Martini as I write this, I hope I'm not rambling too much or sounding like I have a mental illness. Oh well, maybe some people will start writing about something positive for a change. There's a difference between stating that one thinks she is rambling and saying she has a mental problem.

Hey lambs, I just wanted to wish all a happy and healthy new year. As far as the ongoing talk/debate about miss Mimi losing her voice and talent, that's silly. She is [...] and not to mention [...] I know we all want her to put out more more more, but she has given so much already. She deserves to take all the time she needs. She has a life outside of music too. [...] If she never records another song, I will be ok with that, knowing that she has given so much already. Peace.

I do feel like Tommy was her handler and I do believe that she began to wake up out of her programming and saw that what she thought was real love was not. But I feel that she has been working really hard to move past all of the manipulation and mess that's she's experienced through the years. I see light in Mariah's eyes! A lot of stars seem really dead in the eyes. Like they're just a shell of their former selves. I just see MC aging gracefully in an industry that can be a really scary place at times. I actually said that the media controls how we actually see celebrities. Smoke and mirrors. Mk Ultra mind control is real. And we saw MC go through a lot back in 2001 based on what happened in prior years. Not to mention a rough childhood. But until I see MC like a zombie just blankly not able to answer any questions and look really uncomfortable, i.e. Britney Spears in interviews, I'm not gonna worry about her mental health. I also don't think MC is a horrible alcoholic that's unable to function without handlers.

I meant organic and not manufactured, from my last post.

Gloves (40,365) by Paul D from USA
Why has Mariah been wearing gloves the past two months? I thought she was healed from that injury.

Hannah chops (40,364) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
She drinks wine sweetie, not hard liquor or booze. I know many people who ramble that don't drink, who's not depressed, or have expressed having anxiety. Besides we all have stressful or anxiety-esque moments in life, so that doesnt necessarily mean she has a problem. Mariah has always deflected certain questions in interviews, that's something I've always noticed, but to say she doesn't answer any questions straight on is an exagereation. I will acknowledge that fame definitely takes a toll on celebrities and many if not all have to find ways to cope, but Mariah has been handling things well IMO; considering everything she's been through. She a very hands on Mother, she's constantly creating/recording music and working in the studio, so her cognitive state doesn't seem to be as "troubled" as some are speculating. But if you say you're genuinely concerned and you're coming from a good place then great; keep her in your prayers and wish her well, but leave the shots and sly remarks on the back burner. Unless you just want to come across all wrong.

NYE (40,363) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Blown away by the performance. Mariah looked stunning. She must have been freezing though, poor MC. but oh well we know she'll do anything to be festive and super glamorous. I loved the little impromptu speech before TAOLG, so cute. The performance was great, no overtly touching herself, no unnecessary movements, just standing there being awesome, the signature hand movements, and the sexy leather gloves. I love that MC is making leather/satin gloves her new fashion statement. She sang the hell out of her old smash hits, it can be argued that it was dubbed or pre-recorded, but honestly how can anyone expect a person to sing completely live in such cold weather. Super excited about the Valentine's Day single release announcement. Still over a month. Can I wait? For MC I will.

Also dear Cluey (40,362) by Hana from UK
I have read your previous post where you claim Mariah is under MK Ultra/monarch programming and suggest that people who questions her mental health needs fixing up within themselves. Sense of irony in that. Even if she broke away from her "programming" does not mean she has a clean bill of mental health. Even more reason a fan would worry, you don't have to know somebody or deal with them directly to have a soft spot or genuine concern about their life if they have had an a major impact or added some aspect of meaning into your very own life.

Cluey get a clue (40,361) by Hana from UK
Mariah is a human being before an artist. And from one human being to another some of us aren't content with just being awe struck with her, or praise every little single execution she makes. My posts are a hopeful attempt to draw attention to her well being to the people who supposedly should be looking after her e.g. her handlers/Nick whoever and to get them to look after her before it's too late, there is only one Mariah Carey. Why is that so bad? So what if it's speculation? It comes from good intentions. Happy New Year!

Rambling may be one of the major tell tale signs that a person might be suffering from mental illness, stress or depression, so don't underestimate the theory. It's no secret that Mariah is a heavy drinker, this has not only affected her vocals but I believe also her ability to process information. She jumps from one topic to another, and heavy drinking can cause severe mental/cognitive impairment in a person if they are not careful. I work in mental health and I have to help so many people who come across like Mariah who can't socialise or present themselves to the world without alcohol. This may not necessarily mean one has a drinking problem. However in many cases the person suffers from a condition like anxiety and depression and simply cannot cope without alcohol. And when they are off their medication/booze they appear troubled and exhibit many of those tell tale symptoms I highlighted. At the end of the day alcohol isn't good for her voice, and it most definitely impacts on her behavior in a negative light. Again this is my opinion, you are entitled to believe i n what you want, ponder over what you want and comment on what you care most about.

Just saying (40,359) by clueey23 from USA
I think it's sad when people, fans, lambs judge art. Art isn't meant to be judged. Especially if it's organic and manufactured.

Hannah sugar free pie (40,358) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Well I disagree darling, just because she rambles doesn't mean she's "crazy" or "troubled", or "mentally ill", that's just a bit much. Those words shouldn't even be associated with her behavior, that's just taking your unfounded assumptions way too far IMO, but you have a right to believe what you will boo. Happy New Year lambs!

How do properly answer a question? Seriously, MC has been doing interviews for years. You're out of your league dearest regularity. MC is an artist, not a news personality.

NYE performances (40,356) by Lee from UK
I loved Mariah's voice on the NYE performances, but that was such a badly produced medley. In fact it was worse than the American Idol medley. The songs didn't blend well together at all. The transitions between the songs were too jarring. Other than that, I enjoyed "The art of letting go".

The only problem I had was with the gloves! A new single on 2/14, I can't wait. I'm hoping for a romantic mid tempo or epic ballad with killer vocals.

*sigh* (40,354) by Hana from UK
The Andy Cohen interview was terrible, she was talking a mile a minute and not answering the questions properly. Truly reminiscent of her American Idol stint. Some "lambs" are truly hyper sensitive. Just because we express a concern for her well being, or try to ascertain what exactly is going on behind the scenes, doesn't make us any less of a fan, what's with the I am holier than thou attitude? We are saying or speculating about such things only because we are worried about the way she is coming across in the media. Here you are generalising and suggesting that people who are mentally ill would need to shave their heads bald, or start shoving umbrellas in your face for you to accept they have a disorder. I used Mariah's Art Of Letting Go lyrics to make a point of something because some of the words in that song sound as if she is merely saying words for the sake of it, they are vague, long winded and lack substance and passion, this is synonymously felt through her interviews. She seemingly looks and sounds troubled. She said it herself she's "insecure". Mental illness doesn't have to mean you are crazy. Educate yourself.

The performance was brilliant. MC sounded really great, I loved how stripped back Beautiful was so her vocals could really shine.

NYE performances / Edward (40,352) by Licia from USA
I really enjoyed the New Years Eve performances. It probably was dubbed and I'm pretty sure some parts were lipped. So before you all pee on my happiness, just know that I don't care and I still liked it. Lol. Edward, unfortunately I accepted that reality a long time ago. It sucks that her vocals are not where they used to be, but when she's just using the voice she has now and not trying to relive 90's vocals that she's not capable of, she still sounds good. And as you said, she's still capable of making great music. At this point that's all I want.

I like her presence lately, the hair, the body, and the confidence take me back to TEOM era and even as far as the Rainbow. I love it, I enjoyed the whole thing especially "The Art of Letting Go". Wishing everyone all the best. Happy new year to all the lambies! Much love from the Philippines.

I'm at work dying because I didn't get to see Mariah perform. The people on Twitter are making my anxiousness worst because they are saying her performance of the medley of hits was epic. I can't wait to get home. Apparently she pulled Honey out the vault and she sang the crap out of it.

The reality is her heydays are gone, but... (40,348) by Edward from USA
I've come to realized that many of us are still holding on to the idea that Mariah will bounce back to her 90's heydays when we could enjoy her music without worrying about many of the things that are happening right now with her career (voice condition, odd interviews, mismanagement, diva antics, lip-synching fiascos). Mariah didn't need much talking back then, her voice spoke volumes for her (Hero and Without You at Proctors Theater). The nuances and effortless fluidity of her singing was as if an angel was singing to us, and we bragged about her whistle register. Mariah was one of the very few artist who had few to no fillers in her albums, we could actually listen to her albums without skipping tracks, 12 tracks were more than enough. When I saw her sexy image on Honey I almost fell off my seat, she looked stunningly beautiful. It was the perfect combination of looks and voice. Those were the days, and the reality is they are never coming back and it is ok. That's just the way it is, every artist goes through the same process. I have lowered my expectations in terms of chart success at this point, since she has no real control over that, but I still have high hopes for great music in the years to come. I love you Mimi.

Case and point (40,347) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
See what I mean? (See Hannah from the UK message below.) Now folks are basically taking shots and showing a lack of genuine concern. And I do question how much of a real fan you are if you are making fun or speak of light a situation concerning Mariah that you deem serious. Mariah is fine. She betta be shaving her head bald, attacking the paparazzi with umbrellas, and sweating profusely the way you all are talking. Her Andy Cohen interview was actually good and not weird at all. But like I mentioned, some folks love to call others crazy to make themselves feel "sane" or better. Like Bianca Storm would say, "You keep pretending and we'll keep believing."

Mariah is unwell (40,346) by Hana from UK
Mimi definitely needs help. Poor thing, I believe this could be a case of her suffering from the debilitating symptoms of anxiety, alcohol withdrawal and potentially the damaging side effects of prescription medication i.e. anti depressants. She's not the only celebrity to come across in a bad way in interviews. Eminem and Britney Spears have all come across like somebody's taken their brains out, messed with some brain cells and put the mess back in them. They are all coming across as detached from the planet they're on, and lacking a whole lot of substance. Much like Mimi's The Art of Letting go lyrics - ouch sorry lambs! Absolutely nothing to do with Mimi being playful and carefree. She's a hot mess. They need to get her of the booze, if she is mentally ill the alcohol will only make things worse.
