Buble (40,260) by Randy from USA
She did well and I don't think she lip synced, although they never keep the camera on her long enough for me to tell. Have you all noticed how awesome her runs are live lately?

Michael Buble special (40,259) by Licia from USA
Just watched the AIWFC performance. She sounded so good. This performance erases the tree lighting performance in my mind. Lol. I can't wait to get home to see the second performance. From what was being said on Twitter, she did just as good on the second song. I need to rip the audio from this performance ASAP. Oh yeah and Michael sounded ok. Lol. Seriously though I'm not a fan of his music, but his voice is awesome.

My All SNL 1997 (40,258) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
If I could pick one live performance of Mariah and show and brag about it to the non-fans, then I would pick My All live at Saturday Night Live 1997. The performance was all about vocal control and technique. She sang falsetto for the first chorus, middle range for the second chorus, and high register for the final chorus. Plus, Mariah definitely looked like a million bucks there. Her outfit was classy with the red top, black jacket and long black pants. Her hair was long, straight and honey-blonde. I really wish all the haters and all the youngsters of this generation could watch this performance and be mesmerized by her vocals and her looks.

MC and Buble performance, so cute. And he let her take most of the lines. Adorable performance. MC please give me more songs.

Mariah in Nigeria, very disappointing (40,256) by Paul from Usa
I gotta say, Mariah should have learned her lesson after
performing for Libyan leader's family Gaddafi in 2011. She promised to "raise money for human rights with future single, 'Save the day'." And even said she felt "embarrassed". First off, where is "Save the day" single? That was almost 3 years ago when she mentioned that. Mariah goes back on her words more times than not lately. She really doesn't follow through with anything she says she's going to do. Just like with dictator Gaddafi, this time it was all about the money (same price). Frankly she's really starting to annoy me. I'm tired of defending her lack luster performances, lavish diva like behavior, and acting like a a bimbo during interviews. She's an intelligent woman, but acts like a teenage girl!

Most memorable Mariah performance (40,255) by OGmattyICE from US
All the true Mariah fans such as myself all have an image in their head of the single or multiple live performances where they were truly blown away with how impressive Mariah ruled the microphone on that performance. For me it happened on several occasions where I was dazzled and overly-impressed by her voice on the first time I watched the performance, then keep watching until this day because it's like a drug that you can't stop taking. Come on, I know I'm not the only one. Anyways, in a list here are the performances that I can visually picture in my mind and will be telling my grandkids in the future. The ones that stick out to me would be:
- Hero (Proctors Theater 1993 NBC special)
- Without You (Proctors Theater 1993 NBC special)
- One Sweet Day with Boyz II Men (1995 Madison Square Garden)
- Underneath The Stars (1996 Tokyo Dome)
- I'll Be There (1992 MTV Unplugged)
- If It's Over (1991 SNL)
Anyways that's just me. Curious to see if my list is the same as yours.

Michael Buble's special (40,254) by Robby from Chicago USA
Now, that's what you can call amazing performance. I wonder what those critics will say this time. I guess they will say it was a lip-sync. Great job Mariah.

Buble special (40,253) by Bill from the UK
I've just seen it on YouTube. Great duet, even though I can't stand Michael Buble (how someone who just speaks their songs got so popular is beyond me). Mariah did a good performance, and has improved leaps and bounds since the car crash of the tree lighting ceremony. I hope that was something of a wake up call for her.

Getting to know lambs (40,251) by Gemma from western australia
Hi. I just thought because I'm a brand new member here we should have a thread to get to know eachother better. I'll go first. I'm 29 years old and I love Mariah, I think her voice is amazing. Music Box was the first album I got, I don't get why some lambs get angry because somebody talks about Beyonce. I mean, just because we talk about Beyonce or Celine or even Whitney doesn't mean we like Mariah less. Anyway I'll stop now, ok? Mariah rocks.

Updates on Mariah and Lambily (40,250) by DivergentIntel from United States of America
MC's performances at the Christmas Rockefeller special this year in my opinion was much better than 2012. She stepped up her game. It was great. Her vocals were so much better for 2013. Ok, does anyone know when her appearance on the Michael Bubl&eactue; special airs? Someone please let me know. Lastly, I've been saying this for years, but why hasn't Mariah Carey decided to go the route of independent. She should just do a completely independent and self employ herself like Macklemore, without the help of a big corporate record label. That way, Mariah can keep all of the profits and cut out the middle man and not have to deal with the BS. Mariah should have did that after fleeing Sony. She still can have access to top notch songwriters and producers. Also doesn't she own the rights to her Sony music back catalogue? Also I wish she would release her unreleased material and hidden stuff from Glitter era and other eras. Feel free to answer and share thoughts on these matters fellow Lambily. Thanks.

Mariah / Beyonce / Celine (40,249) by Musti from UK
At the risk of getting bashed by lambs for discussing Beyonce and Celine, I want to say I love both their new albums. Beyonce has been very bold both for not previously announcing the album and for the songs she has put on there. Someone said earlier that there are no solid songs on her album. I agree. But I think Beyonce is just as bored of the EDM era as Mariah and she's playing around with new ideas. She has multiple musical premises in a single song (perhaps similar to Mariah's move with TAOLG?) and she has hardly belted on any song, instead focusing on her lower range and light higher notes. It's definitely a concept album and sounds more like electronic r&b than anything else. Both Mariah and Beyonce are pioneers and I believe in what they're trying to do. As for Celine, granted her album isn't a drastic move from her previous albums by any measure, but I think she practically nailed her first attempt at r&b (Incredible and Overjoyed). Also I like that the overall tessitura of the new album is lower than her previous work. It's not only Mariah that doesn't belt like she used to! With these new releases, I'm getting more and more excited about Mariah's album. She is a genuis and I'm sure she will deliver like one.

Beyonce archives (40,246) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Okay so "we" love Beyonce, "we" think she's a fabulous lamb and "we" are very happy for her success, but don't use her moment to slight Mariah. It's far from cute and beyond lame. I can't believe someone had the audacity to "what has Mariah been doing, while Beyonce's been doing this, that and the other". . Really? So she hasn't been perfecting her album, being a great mother to her two children, while recovering from a very serious injury. Get a grib and get your life boo! Mariah has worked herself in the ground for a full decade. I would go as far to say that her work ethic inspired the likes of Beyonce. "Don't forget, don't forget respect that Bow Down snitches."

Voice/vocals (40,245) by B from USA
Mariah's vocal cords are fragile. It's either have the surgery or deal with a hit or miss voice. If she has the surgery, she loses her whistle register and might ruin her voice a la Julie Andrews. I'm happy with her voice as it is.

Mariah will bring her A game for the New Years Eve performance. Like she did when she sang Looking In at the MLB charity event after that lacking performance of #Beautiful.

My Christmas ask of Mariah (40,243) by Brad from USA
Hi Lambs. I supoose if I had the ability to ask Mariah for something for Christmas, I would ask her to drop the "out-of-touch" diva antics and undertake moments where she shows grounding and a level of gravity about herself and her artistry that is commensurate with the degree of respect she seeks from her peers and the music buying public. On the rare occassions that she does this, she is at her best. That's all I want for Christmas from MC. Be well, everyone.

Re: An excuse vs a reason (40,240) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Bill from the UK and Lyric from the USA, thanks for your replies. Lyric: I didn't notice a significant amount of hostility from the "sensitive lambs", however the hostility from the "tough love lambs" definitely over took the message board last week. So that statement was very misplaced. Also no one was in denial about the tree lighting performance being bad or Mariah's current vocal condition or vocal issues for that matter. I think that notion was the biggest misunderstanding amongst the lambs last week. No one every said anything was wrong with giving honest constructive criticism, but something is very wrong with being negative and disparaging, I don't care how many albums you brought or videos you've seen. Bill: Whether you buy it or not, cold weather does affect the voice, it's a fact. That's why singers are urged to take certain precautions, because if you don't breathe properly and you take in too much air, it can dry your voice out; So the speed of the song could've also played a very crucial part as well. Now add all that on top of her pre existing vocal issues, the "splashes" she allegedly had before and you have all the reasons why her performance went the way it did. The inly excuse I would say people has made about MC's voice is that she's "older" or "it's been 23 years", because we've all seen other singers who have maintained their voices over the same or longer periods of time. However by the same token, some of these individuals were able to have their nodules removed successfully, unlike Mariah. Also I just wanted to point out that cold weather was one of the reasons Beyonce lipped the national anthem and Celine Dion has lipped her fair share of performances to preserve her voice as well. At the end of the day, Mariah should've maintained her voice better, but she has proven time and time again that with much rest and recuperation she can still give a great performance. So just because many lambs choose to remain positive and consider all the factors that play into her current vocal state doesn't mean they are in denial or aren't being honest with themselves. On a positive note: We all love MC and want the best for her at the end of the day, so even though we all will have differences of opinion, us all having her best interest at heart is all that really matters.

Angola concert (40,239) by Eternal from Italy
Does anybody has the links to fan footage of Mariah's concerts in Angola and Lagos? All I can find on YouTube are 16 second clips which seem to show her singing mostly live. It would be interesting to see how MC recovered from that disastrous performance last week.

Matthew / Nigeria performances (40,238) by Licia from USA
Matthew, those little interviews are for the Christmas holiday. She's doing them for 12 days. I believe MCArchives posted the details in the news section. She sounded great in the clips that I have seen from the Nigeria concert. Fingers crossed that the next performance is just ad good.

Mariah's voice (40,237) by B from USA
Mariah sleeps in a room full of humidifiers and Dr. Kessler tends to her vocal cords. Her nodules which produce her whistle register also affect her voice. With proper rest she can still sing I mean sang. People saying her voice is shot need to understand that she's recording, doing interviews, and then performing which means her voice isn't going to be in fine form during those performances. Common sense. She takes care of her voice. To think she doesn't is foolish. She did great live on TAOLG. Even if she lost her range, she'd still have the best voice of our times simply because of her glorious tone. But she's more than her voice she's an excellent songwriter. She wrote AIWFCIY, ABMB, WBT, and Butterfly.

Visual album (40,236) by Blake from USA
Beyonce will definitely have the number one next week for sure, but if you are going to put that much time, money and effort into such an "artistic work", then at least make the songs solid. From what I can hear from all the snippets and videos, there are maybe 3 solid songs off this new record. Songs that have the lyrics "bow down bitch" and "working 9-5 to stay alive 100 times" is very annoying. I guess the bottom line is the songs don't match up well with the hype. I see why Sony couldn't decide on a single, even though "Pretty hurts" sounds the most promising. I think B is trying to be Madonna and Lady Gaga in one not feeling it. If the label isn't doing any promotion, then why does Beyonce have every slot of all iTunes banners at top of home page. That is huge in cost for one slot alone.

Nigeria / Billboard (40,234) by Ryan from the Philippines
I've watched a short clip of Mariah singing "The Art of Letting Go" in Nigeria and it wowed me. Seemed like she has recovered so well form thag National Tree Lighting ceremony performance debacle. I hope she continues with this kind of vocal condition. It's sad that I only see Mariah being talked on Facebook because she cracked while singing, on the other side it's also nice to read all their thoughts and concern for her. By the way, congratulations Mariah for, again, having "All I want For Christmas Is You" at #1 on Holiday charts and #26 on Hot 100. Plus #Beautiful being a part of the Hot 100 year end chart.
