I can't really contribute to this, because I really have not listened to much of Whitney's work. But yes, it would be great if Mariah does a cover of Whitney's. I would like to know, if not Whitney, who else would you all like Mariah to cover? I'd love for another Michael Jackson cover (not necessarily of Jackson 5). Why does she lipsync if she was still capable of 1990 vocals? Why does her voice crack nowadays, and sounds so dry with her vibrato practically gone? Why did she start relying on whisper vocals, starting with the Charmbracelet album? Why does she have her vocals dubbed? We all love Mariah here, and we all agree that Mariah can still pull a great performance when well rested and all, we also think Mariah can piecemeal great songs in the studio, but to even suggest that her voice hasn't changed is beyond rational. YouTube performances of "Without You" or "Hero" from the 90's, and then go see "Mariah Live in Morocco 2012 full Concert" and come again. Jab, we are discussing about Mariah covering "You Give Good Love" because we can and want to. If you just want to wait untill the album comes out, then hold your breath, but in the meantime we'll discuss as much as we want, rumors or not rumors. If you like the discussions, read it, if you don't like them, then just don't. We are just excited about the possibility, and having fun sharing ideas. People say that she lacked with the whistling. And that's just ridiculous. Because you can't expect her to do it on every song or album. And they also criticize on her live performances. And that just pisses me off. The woman has been singing for over 23 years. Give her credict and a break. Songs like "Triumphant" and "Beautiful" show that Mariah still has her voice, and can sing. I can totally hear Mimi doing "You give good love" making her own yet still keeping true to Whitney's version. If it's true, that could possibly be the Valentine's single as it would be very fitting for the occasion and Whitney's anniversary of her death is 2/11 (just a thought), although I was looking forward to more of an uptempo track. A rumor came out that she was doing a Whitney cover and all I've seen on here are some of her best fans chiming in on whether they would like that or not. I even asked what does everyone else think to generate discussion. It's a beautiful thing to hear everyone chime in. So no drama. And Mariah remains unhung and undrawn and unquartered. The previous lamb get togethers were held around the Glitter/Charmbracelet era and I am not in contact with the organisers of the original event. If enough UK lambs wanted to get together for a fan event, I would be up for putting something together. Regarding a potential Whitney cover, I think this is very exciting if true. Mariah will do it justice as she has done with all covers so far so I am very interested to hear what she has done with the two songs, whatever covers they turn out to be. And I can see it, like others said the vocals are basic on that particular song and MC's studio vocals have been powerful and strong as of late, if Almost Home, Pulse Remix and TAOLG are any indications. The whole media comparison is gonna happen anyway, even if she slays Whitney's version the majority will be biased to the original. So we may as well come to terms with that and respect the bigger picture, which is one queen paying tribute and showing respect to another queen. (Monday 20 January 2014; 20:07)

I simply have been busy and tbh I've been a tad bored of the standard "someone critiques Mariah" and then "someone calls them out for not being a fan" arguments. It's tiresome and indeed boring at this stage. We are all here to express opinions. Those opinions may differ, which is cool. Chill. Lol. That's in no way a reference to you. You Give Good Love is a great song, much in the mold of All Alone In Love. I think Mariah's voice could hack it in a studio. As much as I would love to hear it, I do worry, as you know Whitney fans and critics will be sharpening pencils. Whatever she produces may not be good enough for some people. Whitney "cover" (40,663) by Tonish from Australia If Mariah was to cover a Whitney song, I really hope she leaves some of Whitney's vocals in the song like she has done with AIWFCIY and Justin Bieber or [...] with Brian McKnight. Just a mash up and make it a duet. To be honest, I really think the best song to do that would be Whitney's "Where do broken hearts go?".
