MC should let go... (39,684) by jaker20 from US
Of her trying to oversing every song. This is the most difficult thing to accept that the voice is not the same, and if she doesn't the fans will never accept it either. You ask, why are fans stuck in the past, constantly reminiscing her glory days? Over and over. Because MC is doing the same. She can't move on. Why does every song have to have a whistle, sing on the high note near the end. It's tired and resembles every song she made, only less impressive than what she use to be. The only way MC can move forward and avoid comparison to her past self is to not be that person, that "voice", because those days are over. And the only way to do that is to embrace her artistic side. With all her success, fame and fortune, it's the time to be creative and take risks. I've said it many times, MC is an artist, not only the voice. The voice isn't what it use to be, but the artist is still there. The songwriter, the performer, the artist. She should cultivate what is remaining, rather than pretend she can still hit it. This is a very difficult transition that longtime fans will probably never accept. But she should accept this. She need to figure out why everyone's stuck. MC should accept who she is now, and see which fans will be there with her in this transition. And in the process maybe even gain new fans.

New album details (39,683) by Quaid Long from USA
Perhaps I'm stating the obvious, but does anyone else have a feeling that she will announce details on the new album very soon after TAOLG comes out on Monday? A few weeks after #Beautiful came out, she announced 7/23 as the release date (and we all know how that turned out, but still). I just get the feeling that once TAOLG comes out, JD & Co. will start giving us more details about the full album. Here's to hoping.

Matthew, MC should let go, not the fans (39,682) by jaker20 from US
Here's the thing, how can the fans let go if she herself can't let go of the past? MC used to be The Voice, but she isn't anymore. She has to accept this. And the only way for her to accept this is to accept her artistic qualities. #Beautiful was on the right path, and what did she do? She lipped on a series of oldies on American Idol, because she wants to prove that she can still sing. Worse, prove she can sing her old songs. How about perform only one song, and do it right? Sing #Beautiful, sing it acapella, sing it simple, live. The way she sang on Fallon. One song, not a series of songs from 15 years ago that she can't give justice to. This has been my issue with MC the past few years. She is kind of flopping her own songs by constantly doing this. She releases great songs, the song rises up the chart, then it flops the moment she sings it. MC should let go of her past glories and accept her now, her limitations. Then the fans will follow.

No Walter questions, please (39,681) by Matthew from USA
Sometimes I think Mariah's fans are the most nostalgic fans ever. The lambs are forever looking back. Back on "the glory days", back when Mariah's voice was perfect, back and back and back. And it's fine to look back. We all have our nostalgic moments. But what I don't get is when the lambs want to relive the past. They want to recreate it. And I think Mariah wants to let go of all that. And she's trying to master the art of letting go. And all the lambs will be asking is if she can work with Walter again like it used to be back then. Here's an idea, Lambily. Let's look to the future.

Q&A (39,680) by Will from England
Do you think Mariah would answer that very question about working with Walter again, if loads of lambs asked her during the listening party? Just a thought. With only four days to go, getting more and more excited.

Billy / Molly interview (39,679) by Bill from the UK
Billy, thank you for sharing that link to the 1997 interview, that was very insightful and fun to watch. Very intrigued that Close My Eyes was originally going to close the album, and hearing how Mariah liked the sparseness of My All and that she wanted Whenever You Call to not be overblown like her other ballads marries up with Walter's recent interview where he said those songs, to him, sounded unfinished. Great stuff, thanks again.

Re: Walter (39,677) by Billy from Greece
Back in July 2005, in a promotional appearance to a German show, a fan asked Mariah if she would work with Walter again. Her response was a rather dismissive "nah", clearly cynical. I'm not saying that that's where she necessarily stands today too, but it is definitely a sign of what other people have also been supporting, namely, that their breakup was much more than just a fight and obviously goes deep.

Stevie, Q&A (39,676) by Trish from USA
I love that Mariah is working with Stevie. I hope it's an original that they wrote together, that would be a pairing of the two best song writers in all the land, and a dream of mine come true. I've always wanted her to write with Smokey Robinson too. I'm so excited for 11/11, I can't wait to hear the Art of Letting Go and hear all the answers to the questions raised on the message boards. 5 days!

You didn't follow me rules. Your last message didn't have a single capital or dot, so I didn't know when a sentence started and when a sentence ended. In fact, it was completely unreadable. I've sent you an e-mail about this, but I guess you just ignored that.

Live fan Q&A (39,674) by Victor from Costa Rica
Hello lambs. Remember that the Live fan Q&A will be regarding the song, not the album or any other topic. I guess Mariah will reveal slowly the details on the album, live, projects, etc. I believe her intention right now is to focus the attention to the single. The lyrics must be very biographical, intense and shocking. We will all know what she is letting go in her live at this point. Or what she can't let go. I can't wait to hear the song!

Walter (39,673) by Brad Catoe from United States
So I would love if she worked with him again, but remember he royally screwed her over. I think this betrayal caused her immense pain. It's in a song lol. He sold her out to Tommy. Now, I'm sure she's over it and "let go", but how would you feel if someone asked you about working with someone like that again. They don't speak for a reason. I think it's great if you guys want to ask and I say go ahead. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but I can't help but think she would be annoyed.

Q&A on 11/11 - Walter (39,671) by Martyn from England, UK
I really hope lots of people ask her about Walter in the Q&A. She's never ruled out working with him again, and it'd be nice to see if it's even a consideration of hers given that Walter spoke about it so recently. It'll certainly be the question I ask anyway!

Voice plus ideas for live shows (39,670) by Elena from The Netherlands
Hi. A while ago there was someone who mentioned that MC's voice was at her peak during the Merry Christmas album. I totally agree. It was the perfect mix between Music Box and Daydream and because they were Christmas songs she put so much vocal freedom in it. Just listen to her go in Jesus Oh What a Wonderful Child and that crystal clear voice in God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Miss You Most. You can also tell by the dance-remixes where she is playing so much with the ad-libs and lets her vocals run freely during that time. I believe her best dance remix was Hearbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely. I hope she does that live one day and also My All/Stay Awhile instead of the original version going into the dance-remix, which is really getting old now. And what about Always Be My Baby R&B remix going from guitar and just her vocals going into the full remix? I mean that wouldn't hurt her voice since it's done very whispery. Just some ideas, I wonder how everyone else thinks about some creativity with her live shows with the brilliant remixes she's already got!

Alrighty (39,669) by Blake from USA
Is it me or are people confused that Monday the 11th is just a new single? It's not the album, it's the title track people. Katy Perry mentions "Mariah Carey" on her new album, I forget what song though. Celine's new album has a Stevie duet as well, only it's his classic hit "Overjoyed". I don't care for it. I hope Mariah's duet is an original and not a cover song with Stevie. Just saying. Mariah's photo shoot looks months ago, because clearly she has gained the weigh back. I do wish she would dress smarter.

Stevie (39,668) by enwar00 from usa
Lots of mention of Stevie Wonder here lately. I think it's interesting how he's on Celine Dion's brand new album and may be on Mariah's as well.

Hi Billy from Greece, I got this photo from a website called www.mariahcareynetwork.com, where they have thousands of Mariah pictures: photoshoots, candids, music video stills, etc.

Molly Meldrum 1997 interview (39,665) by Billy from Greece
Check out the full interview of Mariah and Molly Meldrum from 1997 prior to the release of "Butterfly", which is 40 minutes plus long. She is digging deep into the creative processes of the records. Molly asks her some really good, music-oriented questions. Parts of it have already been on youtube, but this one contains even more details, at least ones that I had not found before.

Hi Mika! Could you please let me know if the photograph of Mariah you're using here is available somewhere online? I know It's the cover of "Anytime You Need A Friend", but I'd like to find it without the title and name on it just like you have it. Thanks.

Deluxe CD (39,660) by Tony from Ireland
That would be a little to much from Mariah. Im,really sure she has this duet, and it will be part of the new album, an album that I do expect comes with a bonus CD with tracks such as Triumphant, Almost Home and #Beautiful. And how amazing will it be if that deluxe edition will include a dvd with videos and the making off of the album? She was recording a documentary not so long ago. Will this be it?

Studio (39,659) by Brad Catoe from United States
Many performers and producers have been in the studio with MC and not recording or producing. She's mentioned several, including Quincy Jones, among others. Anyways, it was just a thought.

No offense but... (39,658) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
What sense would it make for Stevie to just randomly be in the studio listening to a random Mariah/JD song and not be apart of it? That would be a bit much, don't you think? I'm sure Mr. Wonder has better things to do with his time. So it's safe to say that the duet is confirmed.

Stevie and Mariah (39,656) by Brad Catoe from United States
Um. I think JD's update is saying Stevie is listening to our song. In the sense that Stevie is listening to Mariah and JD's song. Did anyone else interpret the update this way?
