Now she can focus on the upcoming album, promotion, tour, whatever plans she has in store. Smart move, MC to get ahead of the speculation surrounding whether she would return. Now MC is controlling the discussion with a positive spin. I always said if she waited, Idol producers would throw her under the bus for last season's low ratings. Album minus a # (38,106) by Blake from USA I think it would be great if the album was named in honor of the lambily. TLC, and others have done this to show their appreciation to their fans. This could potentially bring back some fans that lost interest due to Mariah's cleavage and "dahhlin divaness". WBT sure brought them back. I hope the next single is a smash as well and just her as a soloist. This album needs some major hits on it, top 10's. Although I still would love to see her break or meet the Beatles at 20 #1's. I wish she was on Letterman, Leno, and Conan promoting #Beautiful but I feel promotion is very minimal until the album is ready, which could be pushed back like alot of previous releases. Idol and tour/album (38,104) by Blake from USA As happy as I am about Mariah quitting Idol, the world tour does not excite me. Her voice is strictly beautiful as a studio artist these days. I get bummed at her shows when I don't hear "Vision of love" and "Make it happen" the way she used to sing them live. Alot of artists never change the way the sing their hits, only the arrangement, but Mariah has the need to change the arrangement and her style of singing them. This is done to accommodate her voice and where it lacks, including using her backup singers to sing louder than her. Just annoys me. However, I am a lamb for life and I am excited for the album title and hopefully a release date soon. I do agree that this is the first time we have a hit single and no album info. I hate that, but keep in mind what happened with "Triumphant". That is perhaps still the lead single to Mariah and #Beautiful is the ballad follow up she talked about for months. "Almost home" was a soundtrack work so we can't count that, although I feel had she promoted it, it could have debuted on the Hot 100. (Friday 31 May 2013; 16:13)

Perhaps it's time for Mariah to up the ante with some solid promo for it. She did well with AI, and GMA, in terms of promoting the song, but I feel she could be doing a bit more. New album and #Beautiful (38,091) by Badr from USA I wonder why there is still no news about her new album. Wasn't it supposed to be released in July? It's basically June, and we still don't have major information, title, cover, etc. I haven't seen her so focused on one project since The Emancipation of Mimi. I hope the new album meets our high expectations, just like #Beautiful did. In regards to the single, someone here suggested she should be calling radio stations to promote it. I think that's a good idea. The promotion is starting to slow down, and the song can easily become a top 10 hit; releasing an alternative version of #Beautiful was such a good idea. I personally enjoy both versions. I'd like to hear a solo version so she can perform it more often. It's been a while since I've heard a Mariah Carey song on the radio, and listening to #Beautiful in my local radio station is both refreshing and exciting. (Thursday 30 May 2013; 23:06)

I don't mind her being sexy as long as she is creative, like the Honey or Touch My Body videos. She is definitely being redundant with the same type of look-at-me-I'm-so-sexy videos without a storyline. Now that video sales and streaming count towards the BB Hot 100, it is important to have decent videos out there. For a moment I thought music videos would eventually disappear, but things have changed. All the videos from TEOM were great or at least decent. The Butterfly video was a masterpiece to me. But as I said, #Beautiful was a last minute effort to me, so they probably didn't have much time for anything with more substance. (Thursday 30 May 2013; 22:52)

My problem is that sensuality is sometimes being used to cover lack of creativity. WBT and ILT are much sexier and she actually bared more skin there, but they're also conceptual and artistic. Her videos have become quite redundant, it's clear to me that she lacks a real creative team. Unfortunately, if an artist of today wants to sell massive amounts of records, they have to be visual. That's why someone like Nicki Minaj has so many teenybopper fans. I don't want Mariah to ever change who she is, but she needs to become more creative visually before people get bored. When I first listened to the single, I thougth it was one of her best lead sinlges to date, but the video tottally let the song down. I mean, it's just plain tacky with all the moves she does. Something like a spoof of the movie Grease would have sold this song. The John Travolter/Olivia Newton duet "You are the one that I want" would have been amazing. Just saying. Mariah should really try and elevate her videos and be more creative with the storylines. Being sexy is not always about being provocative. All her videos after "Touch my body" have been a let down. Recap (38,085) by Haiji Toro from USA Ok, well I have to say I'm in love with #Beautiful whether it's long or short. Genius. I don't care if she only sings half the song, as long as I can get a verse out of her, yea it would be great to hear a whole song with just her, but it would be pointless. The song is made for two artists and both men and women can relate. If you remember, Endless Love and One Sweet Day both started with the male singer(s) singing the first verse. I also don't really care if she was lip singing her latest performances. She's Mariah Carey, she can do whatever she wants with her performances. She has nothing to prove to anyone. You can't really expect someone who has been singing live for nearly 25 years to have the same voice, but she still can hit those notes that we love. Give her a damn break. I think the only reason #Beautiful isn't getting a lot of promotion, is because it's one of those singles that might or might not be considered a buzz single until sales show for it, which is doing great so far. And one last thing. How perfect would it be if she covered "Anniversary" by Toni Tony Toné. Have you heard the vocals in that song? She would slay that. (Thursday 30 May 2013; 6:00)

#Beautiful explicit video (38,083) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom To me the #Beautiful explicit video is a clever marketing strategy to get more streams and create further hype for the single. Mariah seems to be doing something like this each week (last week it was the #Beautiful single being released on iTunes), a more subtle form of promotion compared to what we are used to. I'm not sure that this compensates for TV and radio promo, but at the same time, it's a clever way of utilising modern ways of listening to music. Regarding the video, I prefer the original. There's more to it for me. In this video Mariah reminds me of Marilyn Monroe when she's dancing in the Prince and the Showgirl, which is quite amusing. (Thursday 30 May 2013; 3:07)
