Beautiful (37,645) by Antone from Us
My thing issue is, when people get on here and start stating how they don't like something before it even comes out. And Mariah fans wonder why her music doesn't transcend anymore. You have no faith in her. If you don't like her or her decision, then you do have the opportunity to go search for new artist.

Great music (37,644) by Andrew Lo from Philippines
Mariah creates the kind of music that hits us deep when she takes the inspiration from pain, sorrow, misery. Not much with celebrating her success or happiness. But she's in a better place now and I hope all the pain she's had can become enough inspiration to draw music that the world will cry over again and again and celebrate life. I hope she delivers music that means something. I need that, as a fan and as a human. I am going through a lot in my life right now and her music is by far the only thing that holds me together. I hope she is well and I love her so much. Thank you for the music for 23 years.

Am I the only one? (37,643) by Jay from USA
Am I the only one who thinks all this was just a business move? A very calculated move? The lack of promotion for E=MC2, releasing the wrong singles, the cancellation of Angel Advocate, losing the main soundtrack song to Precious, American Idol. It did just enough for the fans but not really anything for the main general public. It seems the IDJ/Universal was focused on Rihanna and Justin. Despite the fact that not everyone likes them both, they are successful. And it seems that Mariah took a backseat to them as far as promotion is concerned. But was it on propose? This 26 second teaser clip has so far been the best campaign/promo Mariah has received in a long time. Everything else was for the fans. Who else is going to log on/tune in to HSN to buy Mariah’s wares? Christmas album? For the fans. Triumphant? It was just to get people to talk about her in the media (as a prequel to American Idol perhaps?). All this, just so when she was ready to go mainstream, her name was still in the media. I am really excited for this new era. I can’t wait to see what happens. Just my two cents I suppose.

Deedre, RibbonB (37,642) by Stacey from USA
I agree 100%. We all have different thoughts. Some are going to like the song, some are not. It's the dissenting opinions that tend to get slammed for no reason. That's what annoys me to the core. I didn't like Triumphant and man did some folks here come after me hard. I didn't expect that because while I expressed my dissatisfaction for the song, I did so in a respectful manner to those who did like the song. If someone comes here hating on Beautiful and MC for no reason, then yeah we should call them out without stooping to their level. Know what I mean? Anyway, I can't wait for new music. RibbonB, well said about Idol.

Idol (37,641) by RibbonB from USA
Yes, MC is way too good for this show. I do believe she went on there with good intentions of helping the contestants, but that Idol producers played her and ultimately played themselves. Idol producers screwed up royally hiring Nicki and for allowing mess to brew for weeks and months. It's a perfect time for MC to be done with that show, her beautiful babies are two, she might have time to tour and take them along, before they go off to school. Now she can move on with her great life. As that Showbiz 411 guy said, Mariah will be around long after the last Idol champion is selected. Pow.

AI rumors (37,639) by Anonymous from
I must be really out of it. What rumors? Ok, I just did some searching and it is clear to me that it was not an AI worker that said that. Anyone in the world could have said whatever about Mariah being booted off the show. Come on guys, don't blame this on the producers of the show.

Thanks for letting me know about that duet not being legit. Jk. It was legit, just not what I was expecting as how it came together.

American Idol Rumors (37,637) by Edward from USA
Mariah doesn't seem to be happy with American Idol. There seems to be some truth to what they have been saying hence her decision to debut her single on GMA. It is her own classy way to say f(beep) you all. I do believe it is a great strategy to disassociate her new music from AI. I know for sure she thought she was going to be the only female judge on the panel. They didn't need a fourth judge. She must be desperate for this torture (season) to end. I wouldn't like her to perform her new single on American Idol either, but let's see what happens. The chemistry on the judges table is so evident nobody can deny it. In these type of shows, women usually have a camaraderie instead of being catty and hateful towards each other. Being objective, Mariah, Keith and Randy were fine for the job. Mariah would've sat in the middle and things would've been way different. As I stated before, I don't think anybody can save that boat from sinking at this point. Mariah should say, good riddance dahling.

Dionne005, Whenever You Call (37,636) by Edward from USA
Dionne005, I definitely agree with you about how disconnected collaborations sound when the parties involved sing their parts separately. We could feel it clearly on When Christmas Comes. I wanted to clarified that even though Whenever You Call with Brian McKnight was fantastic, it was also put together in the same way. Mariah never went in the studio to sing with Brian, they used her vocals from her version of the song from the Butterfly album and pasted whatever Brian sung on top of it. With Beautiful, I do have the impression that they actually were in the studio together, we will be able to tell the difference. Mariah and John Legend were epic on With You I'm Born Again, but to me they didn't sound good together on When Christmas Comes because of the cut and past technique.

Global reception to new era, Beautiful (37,635) by Andrew Lo from Philippines
I don't know how it happened, but across the globe, Mimi's new music is making a buzz. YouTube hits count stand at almost 2 million in barely 1.5 days of the release of the 26-second-teaser, which barely gave an idea of the song's melody. This was a teaser, not even a video teaser or song snippet. The whole world is going loco over Mimi. I guess Miguel provides some new flavour and people who like Miguel may even like MImi for Miguel's sake. I guess the world misses Mimi's new real music. Not just some movie sound-trackish song which was never promoted. [...] The queen is back. [...]

Excited and nervous (37,634) by Randy from USA
I am excited for this new era. She has been on vocal rest so I'm hoping that she can give live non disputable, non debatable performances when it really counts. And as for American Idol, I agree that she should leave the show. I love what Wendy Williams said. Give them the money back so that it appears that you didn't need the show, it was beneath you and it was a mistake. I have a feeling when she leaves, because it's painfully obvious it isn't going to work another season, American Idol is going to rip her to shreds. Last thought: I hope that IDJ stands by the single no matter how well it does on the charts and doesn't release a bunch of music pre-album or push the album back.

Beautiful/AI future etc (37,633) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I think Mariah has been very smart with Beautiful. For once, the video is ready before the song is even released. She has a credible director. A big appearance on GMA is scheduled. Seems like she's getting the promo right too. An appearance on SNL is overdue if you ask me too. I think Mariah should stick two fingers up to AI and announce right now that she won't be returning next year. She's way too big a star to be on that piece of crap show in any event. The AI producers have blatantly tried to talk smack about Mariah by sending out false rumours. Trying to discredit her, or to reduce her salary if she was to come back. Mariah's PR machine is pretty damn good in these situations, and she's called their bluff by sending out rumours that she won't perform on the show, ie the show is not worthy of her music, her real talent. She should go one step further and not make herself look desperate by just straight up saying the show is a pile of dog poo and she won't be returning. Take the $18 million, lovely designer dresses, shoes and just walk. AI is not worthy of Mariah. They should have stars like Paula and J.Lo. They are more appropriate candidates for reality TV, which essentially is all the AI is.

GMA concert kick-off with Mariah (37,632) by Ryan from the Philippines
I thought it would be a good idea that Mariah and Miguel sing "I'll Be There" together on May 26th. What do you think lambs? Not that I'm tired of Trey, he's a good singer but Mimi doing it with Miguel is like a breath of fresh air (i.e. "I'll Be There" with Wanya Morris in MSG). And for sure he's going to be there to sing "Beautiful" (without the hashtag sign since webmaster won't let us lol) with her so why not seize the moment? Just my 2 cents.

Emancipation to anticipation (37,631) by nikki from usa
I can't wait to hear the new track. I can tell by the sound of Mariah's laugh that her vocals are going to be smashing. I'm all ears. However, I can't stop laughing from all these Idol rumors. J.Lo's PR people must be working overtime because her appearance on the show has never helped ratings nor stopped their steady decline. The concept of AI is great, but it's bogged down by too much unneccesary chatter and not enough music. We don't need your backstory until you've made it to finals, period. Note to Ryan: stand up, speak up, shut up. We don't need you to prattle on for half the show or the other 20 minutes of random filler. Audiances don't want to see J.Lo crying because she has to do the job she was paid for, nor do we want to see obnoxious comments, or feuding judges. We want to see playful interaction and enjoyable music. Quite frankly, after listening to the talent the judges should be choosing songs for the contestants to be singing based on their vocal skills, styles, and what they need to work on. You're trying to find stars, so some expertise would go along way, rather than having the contestants choose from a random list of music given by AI. If these kids knew what worked than they'd already have careers.

Duets (37,630) by Anonymous from
I'm not a big fan of Mariah's duets as of the year 2000 and above. Everything she did in the past for duets where done together in the studio and not separate. When a person sings a duet in different places, you can tell and you can feel the disconnection. Her so called duets with John Legend didn't sound good, because you can tell that all he did was sing over her vocal. I'm sorry but that is not a real collaboration. We all know Justin sucks at singing, but it would have been nice of her to redo the song AIWFCIY instead of him trying to sing on top of what she did and that is the real reason why he sounded worse than what he usually does. Her best duets where with Luther, Brian McNight, the guys she did the song with TGIFY the remix "Make it last forever". But that was because they did it together.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion (37,629) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
It makes me a bit sad to see people feeling they have to defend themselves on here. I think its OK if some aren't jazzed about a feature/duet while others are. I personally would like to see what I think when I hear the song, but I can understand why some people might prefer to see a solo Mariah track given the last few collabs. It's not hurting anyone to have an opinion, and it doesn't make someone less of a fan if they don't like the idea of something MC is doing. I flat out did not like her collab with Justin B for AIWFCIY. I didn't see any need for it, and I don't like the video. I enjoyed the remixes for Triumphant way more than the original version. But I still support her. I'm still a lamb for life. You don't have to like everything to be supportive. Lol. Blessings.

Just my 2 cents (37,628) by Stacey from USA
With new MC material coming in just over a week, I'd like to add a few thoughts. When new MC music is released, everyone is going to have different opinions on the song. Some may like the song immediately, some fans may take a few listens before the song grows on them, and some fans may not like it all together. The point is let's respect everyone's thoughts and stop the name calling, put downs, etc. You all know what I mean, lol. *smiles* If you disagree with something someone said about the song, by all means let them know why and have a discussion on about it. When Triumphant came out, the fans who didn't like it got hammered with names, had their dedication to MC questioned, etc. It was so pointless. Let's just have a good time, and yes, if someone does trash the song or MC with no reason, call them out. Just thought I'd throw these thoughts out there. Peace.

Just as excited (37,626) by Stacey from USA
Look, those of us who don't really care for a duet are just as excited for new Mariah material. I'm well aware of her past successful duets. I was hoping it would be simply Mariah on this song showcasing that fabulous voice. I guess if there is a bright spot this time around it's the fact she's doing a song with another singer not a rapper, lol.

MC and Miguel (37,625) by Ali from USA
I just got my life with the teaser and news. I love Miguel's album, and I tweeted her asking for her to work with him. I hope he helped produce the record and co-wrote. I doubt it's a duet, but more of a feature. She needs to get on Jimmy Fallon pronto, and actually do some skits and stuff on SNL in addition to performing. With the right promotion this era has a lot of potential. I'm so excited.

Beautiful : new era begins May 6 (37,624) by Andrew Lo from Philippines
Guys, MC's new era has arrived and beautiful it will be. It will be released May 6 and yeh, it will be a duet. Give it a shot guys. It will be magnificent I should say. I have not heard anything from the 26 second snippet or a commercial I must say. But in the next coming hours, you will hear about it. I cannot wait for it. New era is dawning upon us. Hail to the queen. I think this is the best formula. She should give it a year or two in between albums so that the public doesn't get tired of her. Remember 2005 TEOM and 2008 EMC2? This space gives people time to miss her. She should do this moving forward. She should carefully write epic songs and be grand. Well anything she does is queen-like. I praise her for never giving up on music. She's the queen.

Mariah/Miguel collaboration (37,623) by Nick from Canada
What's wrong with a collaboration if it's done right? Remember "I'll Be There", "Endless Love", "One Sweet Day"? The common factor for those songs is quality music. The reason why her recent collaborations weren't commercial successes was because they were too old school ("When Christmas Comes"), just plain stupid ("AIWFCIY" with Bieber), or residual singles off a flop album that was never going to be successful anyway ("Up Out My Face", "Angels Cry"). I think it's ridiculous to say a song will not be successful because it's a duet. Songs aren't successful because they suck or the people don't care for them. If Mariah and Miguel can get together and make something hot, she has a shot to get a hit. Both Pink and Rihanna have Top 10 hits right now with a duet/collaboration, so why can't Mariah?

I'm ecited (37,622) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I feel good energy around this track with Miquel. I don't think this is going to be another Justin B or Meek Mill thing. It feels like a different type of thing to me.I totally understand where opinions in the other direction are coming from. I get it. I just think, let the song come out and be heard first.
