NY Post article on Hartsdale Pet Cemetery (36,386)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
Hi lambs. I think we are all very sorry to hear about Zachary's brother. I was wondering if anyone happened to notice the NY Post article on the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery being listed on the National Historic Places Registry? The article indicated Mariah has buried pet(s) there and I was wondering which pet(s). I was thinking it might be Jack, but wasn't sure if anyone knew for certain. Anyhow, be well to each other and those around you. Bye, bye. See: Top dog in pet cemeteries (webmaster)

My brother was killed this Tuesday. He was 29, married, father of a little girl who is as old as your kids. Thank you for your music, especially the song Bye Bye. It helped me a lot. Thx.

MC and R. Kelly (36,378)

So happy to see them working together face to face, as we all know they've worked on Betcha Gon' Know before, but they just added Kelly's vocals. I hope it's a ballad or a midtempo. Looking forward for her next project. I think it was a wise decision to delay the album's release until next year and revamp what is needed to be revamped and to halt what is not working.

I agree about Love Letter. For me, it will just be cool to hear what direction they will go in. Both of them can write and sing the mess out of a love song or an inspirational song, but it will be nice to hear a grown and sexy song from MC ala R. Kelly style. Whatever they are doing better make the final cut or I'm going to be mad. Lol.

It would be a beautiful thing for a fan like me to see my favorite female and male singer of all time write, produce, and sing a song together. Geezy, you nailed it. Mariah and Kells are two of the greatest, singers, songwriters of our time. Love Letter is a great body of work. That song is the Song of the Year for me. I have all of R. Kelly's albums just like Mariah's. Man, I hope whatever single they are working on together makes the album.

Mariah vs Nicki Minaj (36,374)

Who can compete with Mariah Carey’s voice? Even Ryan Seacrest, the American Idol host, said he would rather karaoke with Nicki Minaj than Mariah. Can you guess why? Check out the Swagger video to find out why.

MC and R.Kelly (36,373)

Now we're talking two of the most successful singer-songwriters of the last two decades. I know these two can bring the heat, also they can challenge as well as bring the best out of eachother. I have to say R.Kelly's Love Letter (2010) was a great body of work that was very grown up and pure R&B. I hope these two working together inspires MC to take a similar approach with this new album where the music is on her level, but isn't dated in anyway. I hope this collaboration makes the final tracklisting.

Lol, all I could say was no. But I will wish for the best with this and any future MC song. I have never been an R. Kelly fan, but I do like "I believe I can fly". Other than that his musical contributions are sorely over-rated. I hope he was just singing backgrounds for/with her and that it's not an actual duet. Oh well, at least she used her time in Chicago effectively, doing both Idol and working with the Chi-town native.

That MC had done a song like "Girl on Fire" by Alicia Keys. It's ridiculous how many times I've listened to that song. Although the original version of Triumphant has now grown on me too. Looking forward to some new music, not to mention seeing the hilarity on AI.

Mariah's taste in music (36,367)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
Hi lambs, I hope that in this crazy world that all are doing well. Anywho, it is a bit odd to try to discern Mariah's taste in music. Clearly, its rather eclectic. And that is fine and how I'd describe my own taste too. It's just odd that with this upcoming album she would be hell bent on reviving the RnB genre (with songs like Triumphant, which btw doesn't sound at all RnB to my old ear) and yet at concerts she will note to audiences that songs such as "Underneath the Stars" and "Subtle Invitation" are among some of her favorite songs from her previous albums. I'm not sure I would consider either of these two songs to be RnB; perhaps they could be considered old school, traditional RnB. If she is referring to the revival of old school, traditional RnB (and not songs like Triumphant) but rather songs like "Underneath the Stars" and "Subtle Invitation", then I am all for it and will love the new album. "Subtle Invitation" is perhaps my favorite MC song of all time. We will see, I suppose. BTW, there are some really good looking lambs on this board, IMO! Love ya, appreaciate ya and enjoy ya. Bye, bye!

Great point on the Christmas classics, but I beg to digger on We Belong Together. That so is so right, IMO it will stand the tests of time. I certainly hope it's records stand. Lol. I was just listening to WBT on repeat yesterday and I love all the nuances and flavors within that one track. Of course thought AIWFC is a perrenial classic.

Mariah's the last (36,365)
by Anonymous from
| |

|
With the passing of Andy Williams earlier today, Mariah has now become the last of the classic Christmas song singers. Bing Crosby, Nat "King" Cole and Perry Como all had incredibly successful careers in their time, just as Andy Williams had. Yet with all the millions of records they sold, they will forever be remembered for their Christmas classics. So to will Mariah. While other contemporary Christmas songs have come and gone over the past 20 years (right along with most of the people who sang them), Mariah's "AIWFCIY" (the one and only original) is the only one that has stood the test of time. A hundred years from now people will not know what "Honey", "We Belong Together" or any other MC song was, but they will still know Mariah because they will still be listening to "AIWFCIY", right along with Nat's "The Christmas Song", Bing's "White Christmas", Perry's "There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays", and Andy's "Most Wonderful Time Of The Year". Not bad company to be in, that's for sure. Enjoy the day fellow Lambs.

Mariah doesn't release hip hop tracks all the time. This is just the first single or the buzz single or whatever for a project that is sure to include lovely ballads and mid-tempos. No one can expect Mariah to not have variety. Variety has been her trademark, some people just tend to focus on her big ballads. Remember that with Memoirs, they released Angel's Cry, I Want To Know What Love is and HATE U and neither of those songs hit big, except IWKWLI on the Adult Contemporary charts. Fans should expect a full CD with a variety of songs.

Agreed on all fronts. I'm starting to think the problem is a combination of Mariah being very stubborn and also her being surrounded by horrible management (i.e. Randy Jackson). She doesn't like pop music, so the best we'll get is "Throwback" remixes, but they won't be the main single/video versions. She likes to release only songs that have 1000 rappers on them where she sings like 2 lines. We can't win. Since TEOM, she either releases a good album (E=MC2) and falls off the face of the Earth and doesn't promote it, tries to juggle a million things at the same time (MOAIA and Precious), or releases garbage like Triumphail. But maybe she'll prove us wrong with this new album. I wish to God she'd release an uptempo song in the vein of "Someday" or "Dreamlover", but I don't see that happening. That Mariah is gone.

New Mariah (36,362)

Why is Mariah so bent on releasing hip hip tracks all the time? It's really getting tired. If people think of hip hop, Mariah will be the last name on people's minds. Please Mariah, make music for your fans, not for yourself and your friends. We want that voice and sound that made you what you are today. Big uptempo numbers and piano ballads. Epic ballads without that hip hop bass beat. It hurts me to see your songs suffer in the charts. Please release a song that will be a smash before people start to punder on it. This is very easy to achieve, because you already have the fans, we just need good music from you and clean classy videos. We know you are more than capable of this.
