I still can't wait to read it because I'm a lamb until the day I die and any new Mariah material is a must have but I no longer concern myself with how successful anything she does will be, aside from AIWFCIY which is from 1994, back when I was in high school and she used to be popular. It is 10 times better than most of Caution. If I could actually prove it I would bet all the money in my pocket vs all the money in your pocket that if this was Mariah's new single you would sing its praises and say it was the greatest thing ever. It could actually be mixed with GTFO, the songs sound reasonably similar. Speaking of which, Mariah's video to that song consisted of her sitting and pouting with her tits hanging out. I am not sure we Mariah Carey fans are in any position to criticise videos from the likes of Justin Bieber, et al. Mariah's noughties videos are mostly terrible. (Friday 10 January 2020; 22:43)

What's up with JD and Brian-Michael Cox (92,255) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Caution was very light on Jermaine and didn't feature Brian, so to anyone who's wondering what his latest work sounds like, the most recent thing I have heard from him is Don't Waste My Time, a nice duet between Usher and Ella Mai. He co-produced it with his mentee Brian. It sounds like something straight out of Ella's debut album. Since JD and Brian are two of Mariah's go-to producers, I guess this is a possible taste of what their next collaboration would sound like - sample-heavy, 90s-sounding and hopefully just as spare and minimalist but still distinctively Mariah. 90's (92,254) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) This year will definitely be a throwback to 90's references musically. I think that Mariah who basically ruled that era can definitely benefit from this but it has to have a fresh feel to it in the vein of working with people who were apart of that era who can capture what is needed musically. Personally I think even though she and JD created some great music together during that time unless they come up with fresh take that pays homage but still brings something new, and not the same sound this move can work but if they try to recreate any past efforts it will just fall flat. Why not add Dave Jam Hall to the list as well (Dreamlover and Fantasy). Timbaland and Missy Elliott would be a nice touch as well. Danja could work too, poo bear, Dev Haynes, No ID, and a producer who has never worked with MC before but can capture the mood and sounds of the 90's. (Friday 10 January 2020; 15:14)

I Have a Vision of Flop (92,248) by Andrew from the United Kingdom "I Had A Vision Of Love" is a truly awful title for an autobiography. It is too wordy and, whilst it is good as part of a song's lyrics where it blends in and fits the story, as a book title it just sounds overwhelmingly smug and egotistical. You won't find general people saying, "Have you read Mariah's new book 'I Had A Vision Of Love'?" It's a mouthful, it's clunky and does not roll off the tongue easily, at all. Mariah's creative peak has long since passed and I think she needs someone to stand up to some of her decisions and tell her they are not the stone winners she thinks they will be. Truth be told, the only success she has had in the last 10 years has been a song she wrote in 1994. I predict this book will be a self-promoting fest of mega saccharine porportions designed to only paint Mariah in a perfect light and it will not be self-analytical at all which would be yet another missed opportunity. If that is the case, along with the crap title and presumably airbrushed cartoon cover, it will, like Caution, bomb. And I agree that Madonna is seen as toxic to the non-stans and Mariah seen as the source of fun. I can accept that as true. But some sense of class must be maintained as someone being mocked as a source of fun for being a clown is never good. I think Mariah has endeared herself a lot more to the public recently but, as some royals are now finding out, that can easily be very quickly undone if you lose your sense of humility. Full performance of her promo at MTV in 2008 (92,247) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia In 2008 when promoting her E-MC2 album, Mariah did a promo with MTV where they show a snippet of her singing an acoustic version of Thanx 4 Nothin' and Love Story, piano version of Touch My Body, and an unplugged version of I'm That Chick and Migrate. Do you guys think that a full version of those performances are available? Check out the hot video with a JD cameo. This is the type of song MC needs to put out of the radio. Some 90's Rnb sample from SWV or JD produced song would assure MC radio airplay. I would like to see MC sample Usher's Nice and Slow. That would be a brilliant sample from a female perspective. Oh, well she has been really quiet this week. And everybody were talking about how trashy today's songs are. I swear it all sounded the same, no emotion, poor production. It is a torture for the ears. Even not everything was good in 99 (the Bubblegum-Pop) but even those songs are way better than today's garbage on the charts. I'm so happy to have witnessed the good times. 80ies and 90ies were the best, I even prefer the oldies from 60ies and 70ies. For example I googled Bilie Ellish, horrible. I had to quit after 30 seconds listening to it. Luckily we can listen to the good old stuff anytime. (Thursday 9 January 2020; 19:17)

Yummy? (92,242) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines This song. Wow. More like "Yucky". The English language lacks the requisite words to explain how bad it is. It makes Why You Mad sound like a masterpiece. The production is dated as hell for a young artist, unless that was exactly his goal. If it sounds very vaguely familiar from the very first listen, it's probably because it's something that has been done much better before by many other artists. What's funny is that Justin and his team are promoting this new era like it were a result of some profound artistic rebirth or something. It is gonna be a hit - it's Justin after all, but with this coming after Purpose (which I didn't really like much but at least appreciated for showing his growth) - it kind of reminds me of when Katy so heavily promoted the Witness era as "woke-pop" and purposeful pop then came out with singles such as Bon Appetit and Swish Swish. Yummy's lyrics are, well, let's just say the Baby Shark song has some competition, but at least that was geared towards kids. Watch the official lyric video and it almost feels wrong that such words are allowed to appear on screen. Anyways, it's likely gonna top the charts at some point, so good for him. Madonna has as much an impressive discography as Mariah does, but with very different approaches and aesthetics. They've been pitted against each other for various reasons (Madge did start the fued), but I think it's mostly a media driven thing that was then picked up by their respective fandoms. Both women have been untouchable at the apex of their careers, and many artists only dream of their accolades. While I agree that Mariah doesn't get nearly the respect she deserves, I firmly believe that Madonna gets her respect because she demanded nothing less. I say Brava to both of them. Just my 2 cents.
