Will Mariah sing live at the AMA's? (84,555) by Kevyn from Germany
I don't know why but I have the strange feeling that her performance at the American Music Awards will become a flop. Mariah is neither able to sing "With you" nor "GTFO" with her current voice live, so I don't know which song she will perform? If Mariah really dares to stay stiffly in front of her microphone on stage and pretend to sing any of these two songs I know this will be her last performance on any important award show. I really want Mariah to succeed but she's literally doing everything to destroy her status as "Songbird Supreme". You really need to know when your time is up and if that's the case you should focus on something else. She still can rock Vegas and the Christmas season each and every year without releasing weak songs once in a while just to stay relevant. I'm also really tired of seeing Mariah running around in lingerie while drinking alcohol at every possible situation and cursing in her songs.

Mariah has certainly shown that she is talented enough to dabble in and make any genre work for her from jazz to disco to rock to country. I still don’t think she will be in the headspace anytime soon to turn any one of those into a whole feature album. I think even JD said something to that effect in an interview once. It ain’t happening.

Edward, Eric, Andrew and the MCA family (84,553) by Randy from USA
I don't think I'm the grumpy nephew although I'm eternally 12 and clearly remember when Edward and I used to eavesdrop on MC in Sing-Sing. It was while Special K and Jade were classmate of MCs completing 500 hours of Beauty School and Andrew, Adam and Bill were bullies in the schoolyard. It was around the time Eric forgot to tell MC she wouldn't be the only judge. I lay awake sometimes under the covers listening to the radio. Always remember that I need at least 8 hours to put on a good performance because songwriting is more than half of what I do and it's all about the ensemble sometimes when you're a diva. I've often wondered if there's ever been a perfect family. Wait. It's us here at MCA.

I would love a jazz album too. She can still be an RnB singer but making one jazz album, because she is able to do it like the examples "The wind", " Subtle invitation" has shown. Even Lada Gaga did one with Tony Bennett, respect for that. When Mariah was on tour and did the introducing of the band, it was also very jazzy and sounded so good. And it's not like we are asking for a rock or country album. And she sung the Billie Holiday song live. Hmm I will keep that dream.

Did Mariah skip the reherasal? There are pictures of some artists that did show up.

This is what I'm talking about. Ugh I'm excited for the music video, wish she will wear that hairstyle on AMAs.

And at the end of the day Nick (in my opinion) still looks like a sad little puppy dog who is unhappy despite the fact that he filed for divorce and had another baby by another woman. I don't want them back together. Calm down.

Re: Classic Mariah (84,539) (84,545) by Edouard from France
Hi, I agree with You Mariah considers herself as an RnB artist. She always has. So have I. It all depends on when you were introduced to her music. Me was with Butterfly so it makes sense. As for Jazz, I'm a fan, and I believe it would be amazing. I also believe that Jazz really speaks to her. It is part of her musical roots. She has stated that in interviews and has explored the genre: "The wind", "Subtle invitation", "There goes my heart", "I wish you knew", even "Make it look good" is very doo-wopy.

AMA's seating chart (84,544) by Atwood from NY
For anyone interested, Mariah is sitting in the front with JLo basically 4 seats over in the row next to her lol.

You got some GTFO nerves. Leave Randy alone, he has a "Right to Dream".

Re: Not trying for charts (84,540) (84,541) by B from USA
Do you use Instagram or Twitter? GTFO did go viral. There are thousands of GTFO memes and gifs and as the press release for With You states the streams and views are increasing at a steady pace so I'd say it's accomplished exactly what it was intended to do and then some.

Not trying for charts (84,540) by Lara from Middle East
I think that the rollout for the single is deliberately done this way after GTFO didn't go viral as expected so they knew her next release won't have a big impact. Releasing it a day earlier (before charts counts) delaying radio play and the video... the stalling will be the excuse why the single didn't pick up. No idea if ageism is involved because here, JLo always gets airplay while I don't even get to hear Mariah's songs without requesting it.

Re: Classic Mariah (84,535) (84,539) by Shezz from Pk
Mariah will never ever see her self as anything but an R&B singer. I think she'll keep making the same slightly updated sounding music as long she keeps recording. As amazing as a Jazz album or a standards album would be, I think she would consider that not being true to her roots and who she is as an artist and she is too vain to do it sadly.

Mariah Carey flaunts... (84,536) by Andrew from UK
Everything. All the time. Endlessly. And she needs to get some class back. She used to have it. I think I speak for a vast number of people who are bored brainless of new pictures of Mariah posing looking sexy and new videos of Mariah, um, posing looking sexy. The whole thing is mindless vanity and I am not quite sure who she thinks likes this. Someone should remind her she's not a model but a singer. Sorry, "songwriter".

Re: Classic Mariah (84,527) (84,535) by 90sMariah from SG
This is what I have been saying for a long time. Mariah needs to record a jazz album. Her current voice and her penchant for using her soft, whispery voice will fit perfectly in the genre. Besides she's been doing jazz live when she freestyles and she's amazing at it, so it makes sense. I, for one, will buy it. Hard.

Re: Classic Mariah (84,527) (84,534) by Lexingz from Estonia
I agree May. Doing something with jazz and live band arrangements would be awesome for her career and image right now. And might be that this kind of thing would even sell way more than the music she is doing right now. I am not even talking about doing covers. I wish for her own songs and then maybe a couple new songs in that vein. This would restore her credibility as a musician tenfold.

When and where was it reported that she did three songs with Mike Will Made It for MC15? That sounds like a stone cold winner.

Re: Big Jim (84,521) (84,530) by Billy from Greece
I can't find any updates about the causes of his death. Very strange, indeed. I don't know if the rumors about him were true or not, but he was great during the SSFT and a great asset in Mariah's oeuvre. I've always felt he was her own "Jam & Lewis" if that makes sense. Just sad.
