15 most shocking dresses of the 1990’s (90,568)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |

The Butterfly era was special for so many reasons, but this look in particular was a standout because MC looked gorgeous as hell and she looked fresh, and she reeks sex appeal without trying definitely a great moment in time for MC and her fans, and it was certainly a moment for MC the sex symbol because she was definitely alive and well, and off the meter.

I agree. Something is really wrong with the society. I guess she doesn't see the same as us, when she looks at pictures of herself. Too bad.

MC video in Aspen (90,564)
by ADAM from USA
| |
|
|
That video was so weird - she’s so child like. I sense that Michael Jackson stunted growth vibe from her. I wonder about how much of an adult she is. She was very nice and talkative with the boys. Seemed genuine. I wish this side of her was what she exhibited. She’s had an amazing talent that is only overshadowed by her ego. Thanks for positing the video link.

Did anyone ever see this? She was talking to these kids that ran into her at a store in Aspen for nearly 10 minutes and they weren't even fans. Totally down to Earth. Side note: This was in 2007, and it's interesting what she has to say when one of the teens asked her if she had any kids. She's obviously changed her opinion since then.

She was. The current implants are a tad too big as well, in my opinion.

She looks stunning here. I don't know why she had ass and tits implants. She didn't need it. She was just pure perfection.

Isn't it nice to read? I really enjoyed reading it, what a nice story. Mr. Panteloglou will never forget meeting her for sure. I always dreamed about meeting her in "real life" like every fan and still do. The idea with the cooking book is super sweet. I love reading those experiences when normal people meet her and get a chance to talk a little bit. Shows that Mariah isn't a diva 24/7.

I remember being 8 and not liking Shake It Off. I thought it paled in comparison to ILT/WBT which I associated as a single force. As I got older I fell in love with the vocals, melodies, and even her flow. The acapella is a great listen (like all her acapellas).

Shake It Off (90,557)

I'm currently jamming to Shake It Off. Such a gem in the collection, IMO. Definitely should have been a #1, but in true Mariah fashion, she blocked herself (#1 was WBT when Shake It Off was #2.) I love this song, and the video is fun. Anyone else enjoy this particular record?

Also of course Camp Mariah. It's interesting that Christmas was release at the same year. It is no coincidence that both will become her legacy. When she gives she receives tenfold.

I loves Heartbreaker instantly, also. Heard it on a crackly radio. And the "it's a shame part" made me laugh out of joy.

Everything is lining up and this year may unleash a strategic blow. I do believe that they recorded a Europe show last Christmas, and if Mariah's team has learned anything, she would make this concert available to stream. Idk the technicalities, but a major platform like Netflix would serve well. Last year's concerts were so camp they will gain a lot of attention - I mean she begins by descending from a giant tree dressed as a glowing angel. She also performed The Distance, which was the perfect choice to nod to the slept on Caution. Let people know she still makes great music. She may even get her 19th number one with AIWFCIY. If she follows up with her memoirs and maybe an album, I can imagine a comeback era of Emanicpation magnitude (though not in the same vain). Caution was damage control like CB and we are waiting for a new direction.

It does feeL like Mariah is building momentum for Christmas anniversary. She did the same last year with the masterpiece album that is Caution, and the song peaked at number 3. I rather Mariah not perform the song, because when she does it loses its steam. It's weird I know, but that's how it went. Just let the song do its thing. Mariah is a streaming monster, the size and beauty of her catalog is just unreal. Once more lambs jump into streaming maybe that will push it. She looks great, she looks happy, and Nas breaking her record actually put her name back into the spotlight. Can you imagine 14 year olds who probably don't know her songs going "Nas broke Mariah's record", they naturally go and check her discography. I hope the mix-ish theme is a bop, that would be the well-timed perfect storm.

Heartbreaker - 20th anniversary (90,550)

For things like Instagram Stories and social media, when are we celebrating the 20th anniversary of Heartbreaker? August 16 (radio impact) or September 21 (single release)?

Yes, I agree. We need a 100% live performance of AIWFC for the 25th anniversary. If she can’t do the climax then sit down and do it acoustic similar to the Nick version that is floating around.

I agree with all of this. It's awesome that they thought so much of her as an artist to allow this to happen. Since this is something close to her heart I have no doubt that she put her all into making this a great song. Kudos to her and her team or whomever pushed to make this happen.

She's always had stage fright but when she's having a successful run the diva within emerges and delivers. I hope she gives us at least one amazing live televised performance of AIWFCIY this year.

This is a good look. Good on Mimi for asserting herself and asking to work on it. I hope it's a good theme song, like Good Times level.

Mariah Carey writes, performs "mixed-ish" theme (90,544)

This is awesome. I can't wait to hear the song and watch the show. Black-ish is one of my favorite shows and I'm hoping mixed-ish is just as good. Grown-ish is geared to a younger crowd so I've never watched, but I've heard good things. Anyway back to the original point, I can't wait to hear the song. Lol.
