A No No remix (88,652) by Bill from the UK
Sorry everyone but the remix is awful. The Def Club Mix of Dreamlover just wept.

The link didn't get posted, but you can easily Google it. It's been in recent Packer news. The Hollywood Reporter has an in depth story.

Ugh, that Jeezy Beautiful remix was abysmal. Beautiful was a song she should have let go the course, before interrupting it with a wack remix and a terrible live performance on BET, that and her video injury was the beginning of the downfall IMO. Mimi often does too much, too fast and things fall apart This time she may have tried to slow things down, but lost momentum with a Christmas tour immediately after release of new music. It's a good time to soon focus on just the lyrics, the voice, the Mariah.

Stefflon Don and the remix (88,649) by Lara from Middle East
I find it strange she hasn't posted about it on her instagram page.

Packer tea (88,648) by RibbonB from USA
Ugh, here's a nasty little story involving Packer, Brett Rather and an "actress", among others. Mimi sure involved herself with an unsavory bunch of snakes since her divorce. Eww. Hollyweird.

Re: The remix we all wanted (88,639) (88,647) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Yessss. That is absolutely the remix we were hoping for. Actually remixing Mariah's vocals so it's a switch up form the album version and all. I realized the part of the Don remix that irks me the most is how when Mariah sings "I said..." right before Don raps, Mariah sounds so abrupt cut off. The "I said" isn't a smooth transition to the rap verse at all, the way the lead-in is (I think) intended to be. If the "I said" were sung and the note was held over Don's first line, "Trippin' on 'dis saint, never been a clown", it might actually sound like MC introducing Don to the song, rather then Don just suddenly cutting in. Seeing how well done this fan remix was crafted over the official remix annoys me. Doing an amazing remix in 2019, for a talented mixer in their basement, is not an unattainable feat. They didn't even have to pay this fan to remix it and look how much better it is.

Re: The remix (88,636) (88,646) by Marissa from USA
I think being "too busy" was code for "this opportunity isn't paying enough for me to make time". Cardi is very vocal about trying to make as much money as she can while she's hot because she knows it won't last forever. I think lambs have to accept that Mariah doesn't have as much pull as she used to because her music doesn't chart significantly anymore and this remix hide and go seek situation was a pretty blatant wake up call to that. There is no way I believe Missy, Kim and Cardi all mysteriously "didn't have time". It's a small verse for a remix, not filming a movie together. The money probably just wasn't enough for them compared to other opportunities they had at the time or they may not have had faith that it would chart high enough. Opportunity cost is real, whether you're dealing with a legend or not. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Why is Merry Christmas not certified diamond yet? (88,641) (88,645) by jaker20 from US
It's not accurate and so is a lot of early pre-2000s artists. A lot of Mariah's records are under-certified and so is Janet Jackson and most likely Madonna too. The labels probably don't care and they only will if the artist is being honored or have something to cross-promote with them. I would not trust Wikipedia either. I mean, did you see their best-selling artists ever? They are combining singles with albums to singles ales. So an album with a dozen tracks counts as one. What a joke.

MC used to be the queen of remixes and re-sung vocals. I am so disappointed with this so called remix. A No No will be the last single from Caution. The next MC album will 2023 or a John Legend duets album for the Lambily.

Re: Another excuse (88,630) (88,642) by Licia from USA
That's very true. She followed the Billboard rules and still came up with a stellar remix for #Beautiful the 2nd go round. The Jeezy #Beautiful remix gave me hope for the future because that ASAP Rocky mix angered me. Deep down I knew that the A No No remix was going to be a copy/paste situation, but I was hoping that they actually created a remix. Needless to say the remix did not help me like the song. It's still meh to me.

Featuring Missy, Lil Kim, Cardi B. Better than what we were given by the label.

"A No No remix" is fake news (88,638) by Special K from USA
Why are they calling this a remix? Ain't nothing "remixed" about this song. All they did was copy and paste Stefflon's 16 bars. Really it should be called A No No featuring Stefflon Don. I love Stefflon Don. She a nasty girl, lol. I prefer her over Cardi B anyday. Cardi can't even rap. She whack as hell.

So, I love Stefflon Don. She's amazing. But. I agree with other posters that I am disappointed that the remix didn't feature new vocals from MC.

The remix (88,636) by Dove from United States
To me the rapper sounded too much like la Mikki Minach. I would have preferred 'Lil Kim and Missy because it would have been a cool throwback. Cardi would have been too much like jumping on a trend. Plus Cardi turned me off when she said she was too busy - when a legend calls I feel like you should make time.

Why is Merry Christmas not certified diamond yet? (88,635) by Dove from United States
I wonder why Merry Christmas is not certified diamond yet. Or the debut album. Can somebody please make a list of all of her albums and how much they've each sold? I'm super curious.

Re: The remix (88,627) (88,633) by B from USA
Not looking for anyone to blame just wondering if this rule, a rule that was implemented after Mariah's last great remix was released, is why she keeps releasing copy and paste remixes. Let's not pretend JD didn't create this mess with his tweets. He's the one who said he had dmed both Kim and Missy about the remix and implied that they responded and he goes as far as saying he sent Kim the beat and yet we get a remix featuring Stefflon which he is blaming on the label.

Eddie, don't interrupt. Still waiting for the Mary Ann Tatum fake account which said that it's not a real remix. Either that, or it's not a real claim made by B. Again. Benefit of the doubt... so, B, where's the link?

Another excuse (88,630) by Edward from USA
When it comes to remixes, Billboard rules are very clear, and they refer to remixes that morph into a completely different song, like "Thank God I Found You" Make it Last Remix. I love this remix by the way, better than the original. Mariah is capable of making a great remix keeping the song original melody and adding a featured rapper, but that would need creativity, and the will for a quality outcome, she did so on the remix for "#Beautiful" ft. Miguel and Jeezy. Mariah laid down some new vocals, the final whistles were short, but heavenly, and Jeezy’s rap was great. So, let's not blame Billboard for Mariah's inability to create a decent remix these days. A shitty remix is a shitty remix, period. "A No No" remix is what I actually didn't want it to be, a copy and paste uninspired effort. Why on earth didn't she have everything ready before releasing a 10-track album, especially knowing she would be extremely busy with Christmas, Vegas, and a world tour? While Mariah makes her money in concerts and touring, Epic has to recoup their investment from an album that wouldn't be bringing them any money, it's business. I'm pretty sure none of you would be investing their money into pushing a project that was basically dead in the water commercially from the beginning. Yes, it was critically acclaimed, good for Mariah, but if that doesn't translate into some sort of revenue for the label, it doesn't make sense to keep investing.

Re: A No No (88,622) (88,629) by jaker20 from US
Remixes are only good if it actually improves the song, or if the song is charting and the artist want to push it further. It's useful in the downloads and physical sales era. But in the streaming era, it only dilute awareness on a certain version. A No No is already a good song, so the remix is only good if it has big current name attached to it to boost its profile. The song is not charting or being picked up radio, so a mediocre remix will just bury the song further. I was imagining Mimi dueting with a male artist on the remix, or layering a male vocals as if answering Mimi and they're going back and forth. Just simply attaching say Louis the Child or any new artists out there will improve its streaming. There's so many ideas she can take it to but Mimi is surrounded by business people who want to make money off her, not new young artists that can provide her ideas and inspire her creativity again. So many people around her and none have good ideas. I realize now that chasing Cardi B will just make Mimi look desperate. She can collab with bubbling new artists and that will help both their careers.
