I agree with you that Ariana doesn't seem like a nice person. I also want to like her, but it's exactly that, she seems mean and not emphatic. And she is already showing diva behaviour, and that seems a bit early to me.
Mariah have always seemed like a really nice and warm person. Nowadays she is a little bit cooky, but she seems to care for people in her life. It looks like her kids have a really good connection with her.

Half of Minnie's Whistle register placement in her recordings sound gimmicky, random and borderline cringe worthy ("Expecting"). Minnie used to incorporate whistle tones just because she could. With Mariah however, they are creatively placed as embellishments in a song ("Butterfly", "When you believe"), as an expressive tool during a climax ("Anytime you need a friend", "Vision of Love") or as ad libs in a chorus ("Melt away", "Joy Ride", "I Want to Know What Love is") to name a few of the creative ways she's used that register without it ever sounding gimmicky, annoying nor cringe worthy. So it's safe to say Mariah's the queen of the whistle register.

I love Toni Braxton's Christmas album"Snowflakes". It's my favorite Christmas album, after Mariah's of course.

Question about Glitter (87,089)

Oh Santa (87,088)
by anonymous from UK
| |
|

Please can someone share the love with me regarding this song? I know it will never come close to AIWFCIY for millions of people, and maybe many on this board, that is to say the fans, but I have adored this song since its debut. It's so special, bouncy, full of life and excitable. It always gets me in the Christmas mood, and every time I hear it I feel so hapy and really, like a little kid. There is an unapologetic joy about the song, whereas I feel there's an element of sadness to All I Want (I know the melody is super happy, but really, I can feel a sadness in it somewhere), but Oh Santa is just pure bliss. All I Want will always be Mariah's legacy, and of course that song is as special to me as it is to so many others, but there's something different about Oh Santa, that sometimes I think it may even take the edge for me over the Titan song. Sing it with me. Oh Santa.

I loved Mariah's World too. I think one day we will all appreciate it more than we do now. It could have been better, but it is what it is, and I'm glad it exists. It's a little snapshot of her life at that point in time.
I agree with us older people (I'm 35) not knowing how to stream. I streamed the original AIWFCIY and So So Def versions continuously on my phone and computer, I bought those two versions on Google Play, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. I felt like I was doing a lot but our younger lambs have 50 tabs open streaming the song 24/7. That's way too much for me. It'll probably make my computer crash. There has to be a better way.

How rude are you being? It doesn't take being a child or scientist to stream. Some people just have lives that they live that don't involve worshiping their favorite artists, wasting their valuable time on things they don't care to do, or talking shit to others to bully them into something. Do you but don't be rude. Or I'm telling Mariah you called her elderly.

Ariana (87,082)
by Dove from United States

I really want to like her but it does seem like she's trying to be Mariah and it's annoying. She has a nice voice, she should do her own thing and stop trying to one up Mariah. Mariah's whistles don't sound like Minnie Riperton she made them her own. Ariana's whistles are trying to sound like Mariah's. She's trying to take Mariah's place and it's annoying as hell. I've even seen interviews of her where she says exactly what Mariah has already said in past interviews. One example. I don't hate the girl, I used to watch her with my son on Victorious and I bought her first album and some songs off her second. Honestly I was rooting for her to succeed but started noticing the blatant copying and it turned me off to her. Also how she said Victoria Justice bullied her which I don't believe. That pretty much ruined Victoria's career before it started because Ariana was starting to get huge at the time. It's a shame because Victoria Justice had potential. Ariana just doesn't seem like a nice person. I think people behind the scenes are using her to take Mariah down like they used Jennifer Lopez (and others) and she's letting herself be used because she wants to be Mariah. But no one can take Mariah's place because she's the real thing, a flawless diamond when the others are just really good imitations.

"I ain't tryna be rude, but we are lacking." Anyways this is Mariah most critically acclaimed album and like someone here said before at this point that should matter the most. Let's celebrate and appreciate Mariah more than ever guys, all of our legends are leaving us fast, I can't even fathom the heartbreak if anything happened to Mariah. God bless all of you and merry Christmas and a happy new year in case I don't post.

Tevin I do not put everyone down who supports Mariah. I just said that most of the fans are not buying the stuff and it makes sense to me. Also let's discuss how some lambs discredit Mariah's work because it didn't sell much, Music Box ain't even on Mariah's top 7 best albums and it sold the most. Sales don't really mean a thing, at least to me. I'm gonna enjoy Caution like it's the last album Mariah will ever make.

Mariah doesn’t own it but the first thing you think of when you hear the whistle register is Mariah. She elevated it and went places no other singer have ever gone. Should be called the Mariah register, in my humble opinion.

I'm praying for your grandmother. Here is on my fave prayers: "Lord, your word speaks promises of healing and restoration and I thank you for the miracles you still perform today. Today I claim those promises over my friend. I believe in the healing power of faith and prayer and I ask you to begin your mighty work in the life of my friend. Please reach down and surround my friend with supernatural peace and strength and give her the faith to believe that all things are possible for you. Protect her from Satan's lies and discouragement and let her miraculous healing begin. Amen."

1 sale or 32 million sales is still a legend (87,077)

My name is not important. I'm not gonna lie, yes I loved Mariah's World and I would literally watch anything with Mariah. I'm not the only one who got fooled by Stella's acting lol, not only did she deceive Mariah and me but lots of other lambs as well. "What about she sucks at producing anything worth streaming in the past few years." [...] MIAM is better than half of her stuff from the 90s, Caution is amazing too and such a mood. I can't stop playing it. Yes, all of us should be blamed, the numbers doesn't add up, I interact with lambs on Instagram and on twitter everyday. Their are so many younger lambs now who dedicated their time and energy on streaming the songs all day and all night since streaming is in many ways more important. Meek Mill's new album debuted with less sales than Mariah if we talking pure sales. But thanks to streaming he got another 200k+ sales and debuted at #1. Edward I sincerely doubt you know how to stream, your generation is just too elderly now. Now focus the little energy you have on actually streaming her Caution songs. Also let's take All I Want for Christmas is You to possibly top #5 this week. We still have it's biggest week "day" left.

The song doesn't sound like anything Mariah would do. As for the whistle register, Mariah doesn't own it. Minnie Riperton and many others have used it before her.

Sending prayers for your grandma. (This prayer is taken from book of prayers by Stormi Omartian.)
Lord, I pray that You will give B's grandma a strong heart that doesn't fail. When she is ill, I pray You will sustain her and heal her. Fill her with Your joy to give her strength. Give her faith to say, "O Lord my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me." Thank You, Lord, that You are her Healer. I pray that B's grandma will live a long and healthy life and when death does come, may it be accompanied by peace and not unbearable suffering and agony. Thank You, Lord, that You will be there to welcome her into Your presence, and not a moment before Your appointed hour. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
