Re: Brit-sync (83,495) (83,502) by Anonymous from
Wow Brit didn't sing one word. I've always wanted to see her live as well, always taped her performances back in the day and tried to learn the routines. It stopped at "Slave 4 U". Did I really just admit that on a public platform?

Mariah samples Yarbrough and Peoples' "Don't Stop The Music". Ever since Mariah teased us with that song at Floyd's bash I've forever been blasting it from my car. Mariah is undeniably the queen of samples and has brought back to life so many some old skool jams. Hehe, I think my phrase for the day is "old skool".

Lol. Bill your opinion of me is probably going to dip but I love me some "Can't say no". It's so old skool, and I love me some old skool.

Just listened to "Made For Now". I like the song, Afro beats infused with Latino is a lovely combo. I hope this song is a commercial success and age doesn't play a factor in its performance. It's nice to hear an upbeat song.

This is her last chance to shine at the top. She is going to deliver this time. With production and hit making songwriting skills by Poo Bear, No ID, Bobby Ross Avila, Diane Warren, Prince Charlez, Crystal Nicole, and a few other surprise collaborations, she has to be destined to deliver the best R&B album of 2018. I bet the album is already titled and tracks sequenced. I am sure Jay Z, Tyran Smith, and Sylvia Rhone all have heard the album and given MC a thumbs up.

I'm excited about the album of course but her most recent efforts are making me slightly nervous. If there are tracks like Unforgettable and Almost Home, then great. If we have tracks like Infamous, Why You Mad, Crapfinity, Can't Say No and The Star then I think I will cry. I'm not sure what is meant by an "aggressive" sound, but it doesn't sound like we're getting Dreamlover's sequel lol. I really hope MC delivers and she can then finally bow out of this charade with her lagacy in tact. Ish.

Be patient. Lol. A true artist can't rush a masterpiece. We are in store for something really big soon. I told y'all the album was coming this year. Let the new era begin.

Saw Britney at the O2 last night. Credit where credit is due, at least Mariah sings some of her shows. Britney. Did. Not. Sing. One. Word.

Re: people.com (83,492) (83,494) by Andrew from UK
It's a nice statement, but since when did Mariah care about what her fans want? That's arguably quite untrue. But I agree that the album must be coming out soon - it must be October, otherwise why cancel the Aus&NZ tour? It will be interesting to see if she's posting pictures of herself frolicking about on a boat during the period when she should be playing for her Antipodean fans lol I hope she doesn't, for she will surely lose all of them. You don't piss of the Aussies lol. Regardless, that there might be a new Mariah Carey album soon is quite exciting.

I got "Honey vibes" from that little clip on instagram. Mariah looks so beautiful. I'm excited what that secret is?

"My fans just want to hear me express myself and speak from the heart and sing from the heart," says Carey. "Some of the record is lighthearted and fun, and some [songs] I really went deep in terms of the lyrical content. There's a nice cross-section of things." Can we not just get the album now please?

You were doing well until "You all say you want..." but you probably wanted to end with killer lines. Many people here want Mariah to be on top in the public eye and have said so - myself included - so that's just nonsense.

She's posted on her Instastory that they're shooting a "secret project". Sounds very much like she's shooting either album/single cover of music video. Either way, exciting things are happening.

It appears that the album is wrapping up as we speak. I love all you lambs, but sometimes we can be overtly pessimistic. I understand that those emotions are a response to the lack of attentive care for the passed years (or even decades according to some) upon Mariah's doing - or rather lack of doing. I also understand that ciritcism can be a necessary agent for growth and change. Some critiscisms generate enlightening conversations. I also understand that delusional, naive defense of the "infallible" Mariah rubs some lambs the wrong way. But at the end of the day we all love and wish the best for her. I'm glad that we are getting an album sooner than most expected. I hope that this makes some lambs lighten up just a wee bit. Hopefully this album is strong or at least a step in the right direction. Even if this album is rusty, she can make another one. Let's just keep the positive and realistic vibes.

MC and J.Lo (83,487) by Nikki from usa
Mariah's roots are R&B music which is where she resides. New York loves Mariah and she spent a good chunk of her adult life giving back and doing charity work. Which explains why Mariah could tweet she'd be in NYC in 24 hours, because a frenzy, and local police had to shut it down. J.Lo has never given back and the only time she returned home was to build a monument to herself. Which explains why she couldn't sell out a free concert in her hometown. That goes a long way to show who's truly respected and who's been surviving on hype and publicity. One is given to you by the public, the other you pay Benny Medina to obtain. J.Lo's schtick has always been to hop on whatever bandwagon is hot at the moment and jump off before it gets too cold. Everything else is fueled by constant publicity, so people don't forget her. Mariah isn't as comfortable in the limelight. But, people here aren't really honest either. You all say you just want her to make good music, but the reality is you just want her to be on top in the public eye. If she's on a major event you'll watch it, but you won't even look up her live concerts. As far as I'm concerned Mariah's last album as "Mariah Carey" the chart topper was #1's. After that she was on her own. I see her as being retired since '98.

Re: Adam (83,486) by Nikki from usa
What, dear, are you smoking? Brenda was never that close to Mariah and was expecting a finder's fee for discovering her which Mottola would later take credit for. Brenda was upset for Medina being an ass to her which he is known for and has burned several bridges with many clients because of it. That's why he gets fired so much. If that's all it took to spin Brenda on Mariah then clearly it wasn't that deep. Brenda was offended when Mariah sent her thoughtful homemade gifts instead of expensive ones. Mariah already helped Brenda, gave her shout outs, and showed her love.

Disagree. Butterfly was personal and a shift, but Daydream defines her. Alongside Hero. Her actual theme.

While people on social media are freaking about the recent news of a possible performance on AMA this October, no one seems to care that she just had a listening session with Cha Cha in IG's story. Haha. I wonder if it's a single that she just did or they were listening to the entire finished album. Sooner or later, new music will drop and it will be definitely this year.

Mariah has to go out on top (83,480) by T from USA
I'm going to write something that might enrage a lot of fans but I think it might be accurate. Mariah's legacy and reputation rests on her leaving the business at the top of her game. Period. She's had two big career defining albums in the past; Butterfly and TEOM. However after both of those albums she never followed up with something as spectacular. After Butterfly she produced Rainbow, Glitter, etc. None of the albums that followed lived up to the quality that was Butterfly. Likewise with all the followups to the TEOM. Now for a moment, imagine a world where Mariah had never released another album after TEOM. Her star would be shinning so bright because of the idea of "what if". Sometimes I think "what if" in regards to Mariah is bigger than the actual product we get. (Butterfly and TEOM are the exceptions). Now I'll go even a step further, for a moment imagine Mariah's final album was Butterfly. Sure we would have missed out on some amazing songs but we would've also missed out on her psychiatric breakdown and the humiliation of Stella. Had her albums ranged from 1990's self titled to Butterfly her record and reputation would've been sealed as one of the best in the history of music. Maybe I'd settle for a happy medium. It would've been nice to have her take eight years off after Butterfly and then come back in 2005 with TEOM and then walk away. But alas here we are again. And I'm afraid that the only sure way Mariah will get her respect is if she has one more career defining album (like Butterfly or TEOM) and then walks away for good. She could still tour the greatest hits but the "what if" factor of another album would always out weight the actual follow up.

Top 5 fall most anticipated albums (83,479) by Bobby A from United States
1. Mariah Carey - MC15 - Fall 2018
2. Culture Club - Life - October 26
3. Carrie Underwood - Cry Pretty - September 26
4. Janet Janet - JJ10 - Fall 2018
5. Zayn - Z2 - Fall 2018
6. Bubbling Under - Liam Payne - Fall 2018
7. Jason Derulo - Fall 2018
Carrie is going to have huge first week numbers. A more personal soulful and emotional Carrie will be revealed on the new album. Culture Club won't be a huge seller or garner any radio airplay, but the album will receive rave reviews. Janet just released her new song with Daddy Yankee. Her new album is going to lack promotion when it is released. She needs Virgin Records again. Zayn's new album may be pushed back for more studio time and for a hit single that is rising on the chart. His last four singles have flopped. I don't know why he is singing all this pop and not doing more R&B and alternative R&B. His voice is suited for both genres. And last our girl, Mimi is going to have huge first week numbers because no anticipation has been higher for a Mariah Carey album since TEOM. The album cover is going to be hot. MC15 will be a defining moment for her career just like Butterfly and TEOM. Are we ready? Because the first single is going drop really soon. I am predicting the album will be here in time for presents under the Christmas tree. Expect to be surprised with MC15.

Brenda, is that you? In all honesty who cares what Brenda thinks that Mariah owes her? Mariah covered her biggest hit and took it to new heights and Brenda has been bitter ever since.
