Re: Where did she go? (81,040) (81,057) by Edward from USA
To know that answer to that question you need to read a book call "Mimi L. from Asia".

Re: Mariah Carey: Just Be Good To Me (from Japan) (81,037) (81,056) by Edward from USA
I'm friends with two people who are closed friends with Trey, and he won't talk. I've asked questions to be asked to him, and I've heard his answers in recording, he won't say anything. One thing he says though is that he loves Beyonce and it seems to be he's worked with her. So nothing will come out of his mouth, he's on Mariah's payroll as a permanent employee, not only when she goes on tour. He used to be a heavy drinker, but has stopped because it affected his voice. My friend asked him: What happened to Mariah's voice? And his answer: he roled his eyes and dodged the question.

As long as you can two step, that's all that matters. I can only two step but I do it with confidence, and it's gotten me through me an awkward moment.

I love Shade. I listen to so many of her songs. Pearls gets me every time. By Your Side just never gets old and gives you the feels. The Moon and the Stars. Just great.

Re: Our minds work differently (81,035) (81,053) by 123 from USA
So it's ok to joke about race because it's a joke right? I knew I'd push that button and get a paragraph. You're a hypocrite blondie. You live a sheltered life. To say gays have it the worst and turn around and make racist jokes shows you like to pick and chose when it's all wrong. Every time you make a racist joke I'll make a gay one. Let's see how long that lasts.

Re: Our minds work differently (81,035) (81,052) by Special K from USA
I know gays who can't stand minorities just like I know minorities who can't stand gays. Hypocrisy comes in all sizes, shades, colors, and sexual preference when it comes to prejudices and racisim. Just thought I would point that out.

Makes me smile every time. It is a track that needs to be played at a certain volume. Can't be too quiet.

"Reuben just wishes we could all get along like we used to in middle school." What the hell does that mean? Is that a quote from somewhere?

Re: Memoirs, Rainbow and MIAMTEC (80,949) (81,049) by Reuben Walton from United States
"In the last 24 hours, Reuben read 18,000 messages. This must be a world record. If he has slept 8 hours, then he read 19 messages per minute. And don't forget he replied to 15 of them. I think I myself would go crazy reading so many messages in such a short time."
Just Andrew's. Not the whole message board. Get a grip. Also it's a hassle the way this board is displayed on mobile, where each message has its own unique page and URL.

"I can hardly wait for the moment when he discovers Stella is gone. "
I knew Stella was gone. It was just Andrew's post history. That's it.

"Holy Charmbracelet, you're not supposed to be giving hints to Reuben. You're life ruiner, you ruine people's lives."
I think that's a little mean, but to each their own. But a lot of comedic intent doesn't come across in text so it's not that big of a deal.

Re: Memoirs, Rainbow and MIAMTEC (80,969) (81,046) by Reuben Walton from United States
"Yes, I agree when he discovers Stella is gone, oh my, oh my. Speaking of that, her Instagram is still not updated."
Bitch please I knew that Stella was gone. I just like Andrew's prose and ideas and the engaging way that he writes with humor and makes sharp points. It was just his message history, not the entire message history of the board. When you click on someone's picture on here you can see their whole message history. I like how he's vocal about the ghetto aspects of Mariah and the different social/identity issues around it.
That was even something I said once to my friend in like 2005-2006 "I hate how MC is always trying to be somewhat ghetto", which I've since learned to love. I love "4Real4Real" and "Heat". And I like when people talk about the different eras and the different gossipy things that may or may not have been happening behind the scenes. I was always a fan despite making that comment about her being "ghetto/gangsta", but I really became an active full-on lamb in 2009-2010. Her way with melodies and ballads move me in a lot of ways. I like that she does poignant songs and uptempos with cocky elements. And just plain feel good songs like YDKWTD. I am between vehicles right now and also working on my own music which can be found at reubenwalton.bandcamp.com. I am also waiting to get my septoplasty surgery on March 1st to correct my deviated septum. I was living in Los Angeles from September through November but came back East to MA for a bunch of reasons. You need a car in LA being chief among them. I don't think I'm much lonelier than other people but I do feel that emotion. I would like to move back to LA eventually.

Re: Mariah Carey: Just Be Good To Me (from Japan) (81,032) (81,045) by Bill from the UK
There's always been that rumour that she had surgery on her nodules in the mid 90s post-Daydream tour and what we have now is the result of that. I really do think it's a possibility. If it's true she should have addressed it at the time rather than hide behind the smoke and mirrors. If it's not true the vocal decline was all self inflicted which is even sadder.

Sade original song for Wrinkle in Time (81,042) by RibbonB from USA
Ooh I am so excited and happy to know that Sade, the really elusive chanteuse, is coming through with new music next month. This is a real feather in Ava Duvernay's cap. I was excited about this movie before, but Sade takes it over the top. The song is entitled Flower of the Universe. I hope it is fantastic.

Re: Our minds work differently (81,013) (81,041) by Reuben Walton from United States
I was gonna even try to play along by saying "Oh, that's okay..." since that's what Lindsay's Lohan's character says after Regina George and the girls invite her to lunch, but it's such a small line that the joke might not translate. And I think the irony of the "Migrate should've been a single" thing is because people have been saying that since like late 2008-early 2009. I think it's being used as an example of what a clueless new poster is supposed to say.

Re: Always Be My Baby plus other classics? (81,024) (81,038) by Reuben Walton from United States
I especially love that brief moment right towards the end when she starts the "you and I will always be" adlib, and it sounds like the bass and some other instruments drop out and I really feel the purity and epicness of the emotion for that part. It's one of those moments I wish were longer.

Exactly Edward, you can feel she's relaxed in her performance and in control and doesn't have to worry about the next note. You mentioned that maybe a surgery that went wrong around 97, I guess her breath support got damaged when she got the implants. We'll keep on guessing until Trey put out his memoirs.

I totally agree. This performance is everthing. Love it. It's true she seemed so careless and confident at the same time. It's a great song. And Mariah looks so cool with the hat, the sunglasses and the baggy. Just stunning. This is what I call star power. She never needed to dance like a dancer, her two steps are perfect.

Re: Our minds work differently (81,030) (81,035) by Andrew from UK
I think I've posted 2 things about gay people that are relevant: 1) the suggestion that Mariah should avoid performing in a country where the mainstream culture advocates and frequently enacts violence towards gay people (such as Jamaica - maybe she should take her GLAAD award on stage and make a speech there about tolerance?) and 2) highlighting the hypocrisy of people who scream about bigotry and don't seem to pass their own liberal tests when their rules are applied to their own posts (as in quoting Sheila). I hardly think anybody would call me a Social Justice Warrior. But if you want a press release, I think gays have it the worst around the world. They have full equal rights in the UK but in most other countries they do not and are treated appalingly. Even by other minority groups who protest under a banner of victimhood and mistreatment and proceed to then victimise and mistreat others. So "Gay Lives Matter" would be a cause I think Mariah should start. She'd earn her GLAAD award at least.
