Congratulations to Mary. I keep hearing how good she did in the movie and how good the movie is in general, but the premise of the movie hasn't moved me to watch. I hope she wins, but if not it's probably just a blessing for her to be nominated. She probably didn't expect the nominations.

I remember once my mum read me an excerpt from a book she was reading that described a woman's scream as "Mariah Carey being run over by a steam roller". Lolz.

Do you prefer the power of 93 Mariah belt or the elasticity of the 95 Mariah range?

Love love love it. Love it. She could beat Celine in the day. Celine actually stated at one point (circa 96) that she couldn't do what Mariah Carey did. It's not only about the power. It's about the resonance. It's how it makes your skin tingle.

I remember that she got referenced but I don't know the episode too. Will is in real life a true admirer. Mariah was and is mentioned so often in episodes and even movies. I once had a list of it, because I found it so cool that Mariah is mentioned by so many people. Even in novels, I have two books and two autobiographies were she is mentioned. Always positive. And the poster of her in the "Mean Girls" movie is legendary isn't it?

Mary in Mudbound (80,574)

Congratulations to Mary J Blige for her best supporting actress nomination for her role in Mudbound. I hear that both the movie and her performance are excellent. I am tempted to finally indulge in Netflix just to watch it. I hear that she, and/or the movie were nominated for best song as well.

He said "He's the source that revealed that Mariah Carey's black." I vaguely remember this episode. I need to go back and watch the whole thing.

So, I've found one episode where Mariah is referenced (not the one I remembered) but I can't figure out what exactly they say about her. In case someone would like to help, you're welcome. Here's the link (the reference is around 5:30, something alone the lines of "He's resourced every something something that Mariah Carey's black).

In honor of the Cranberries, I think Mariah should release a new album "Bury the hatchet" and make it only duets with all the persons she doesn't know.

Demo / Alone in Love (80,566)

Remember a couple of years ago when there were some leaks of Mariah's demo on YouTube? There were snippets of Vision of Love, Someday, Vanishing and Alone in Love. The Alone in Love videos have all disappeared and I was wondering if someone has saved them or knows whether they are somewhere available. Thanks.

I agree 100%. This is one of those rare instances where the remake is better than the original. Bite your tongue say the Ritchie and Ross fans, lol.

I think aging has had an effect on her voice but that is natural. I think it's added a grit to vocals. She's still the best singer in world.

I'm just glad she's in the studio. We all know she likes to record in a private booth with just her engineer present so since people were present and she was having a splash I highly doubt she was recording.

Exactly. I'm tired of the same old same old too but I don't see this picture screaming that. Next time Mariah should post a pic of herself butt ass naked looking serious as hell holding a bottle of water.

Camila at #1 (80,559)

I know this is outta nowhere but she's a certified Mariah fan so congrats to Camila Cabello on having the #1 album (which is quite good by the way) and #1 song (Havana finally and deservedly hit the top spot) in the US and and in many other countries. She's just so adorable and seems really humble and grateful in all of her interviews. Turns out leaving Fifth Harmony was the best decision. She sounds a like a more urgent Selena Gomez with a little bit of Ariana and Rihanna at times. She has the potential to go really far.

Re: Did Mariah betray her gift or did it betray her? (80,557) (80,558)
by T from USA

I think what may have happened is Mariah was looking for happiness after a sad lonely childhood and she thought music and success would give her the relief of all the pain she was feeling inside. The Butterfly album with all its themes and sadness is a person coming to the realization that none of it made her happy on the inside. And at some point during that era she stopped being so intense about using music and success as a remedy to the pain. At that point she found alcohol (and maybe drugs) to let her distract from her inner pain. Tommy kept her hidden from the industry parties as long as he could but she was increasingly becoming more unhappy. I remember the time in her life that she was in therapy and reunited with her father is a time I saw more genuine content within her. She was also treating her voice better (Charmbracelet world tour to TEOM). Unfortunately, it came after she hit rock bottom first. Then after all the success of TEOM she still wasn't at peace. Can you imagine being so successful and yet still looking outward for happiness? I really believed her kids would finally bring her inner peace but then we got the Stella era where she seemed the most disconnected and false ever. Right now she seems better and motivated but I just hope she's not just banking on new success to give her happiness, because once again she is going to be severely disappointed.
