Re: Can’t Let Go (Acapella) (78,710) (78,715) by Lee from UK
This is such a beautiful song but even more beautiful in acapella. I accidentally let the next video play after the song had finished and I wasn't disappointed. The same person has uploaded a nice piano version of Can't Let Go with some interesting vocals I have never heard at the beginning and the very very end.

I love these acapella moments. I'm glad it was the one with the whistle note. I heard more layers for that whistle part. She goes even higher in some tracks. Even the low note in the beginning sounds lower than in the actual song. I've heard the Emotions acapella and heard parts in her voice I hadn't heard from the original.

That's an awesome song but it's nothing compared to CIMS and WYSTN. However, TOIW is a masterpiece.

Why is she still touring?

I know it may be an unpopular idea to some, but I would love a jazz album. It would be wonderful to have an album of songs like The Wind, CTIITAA, Lullaby of Birdland, Don't Ask. Mariah and jazz go hand and hand. Her voice is so husky and sultry and I just hope one day she would record one just for fun or whatever. CTIITAA and the entire composure of that song is simply magical. It sounds timeless. I remember when she had that promo release for MIAMTEC and the orchestra behind her speaking, I thought we were going to get some beautiful songs with strings and her voice stripped. Just something I know she would shine on.

Finally, an acapella of the beautiful Can’t Let Go has surfaced.

It's probably not true, but I'd love for her to do one. She needed to do one a long time ago in my opinion.

That Bahamas tweet along with the rest of those tweets was nothing but a bunch of nonsense.

I swear we only see her leaving restaurants. Why is there never pictures of her leaving a recording studio? And speaking about a studio, what happened with "I'm finishing my album in the Bahamas"?

Gospel album (78,705) by Jamie from UK
I saw on insta that someone posted Mariah is releasing a gospel album due to drop on 28th October. Then the post was removed. Any truth in this?

Hopefully a new team indeed. I just read : "Instead of creating new music Mariah Carey will link her name to even more licensed products nobody really cares about."

Just browsing old photos of MC from 2004 and I just noticed that she almost consistently wore that red string bracelet related to Kabbalah or something. Weird.

I've always been a fan of Janet. I bought The Velvet Rope the day it was released. It's an amazing album.

The lyrics in Thirsty are clearly about Nick. He works in LA. Damizza was and I believe is still based in NY.

Re: The Velvet Rope turns 20 (78,684) (78,697) by Randy from USA
I agree with you so much. The Velvet Rope is personal dark moody edgy and simply beautiful and it's a lot like Butterfly in that it one ups its predecessor. Mariah started getting introspective on Daydream and Butterfly one ups Daydream. As The Velvet Rope one ups Janet. And then 6 months later Madonna released her best album Ray of Light. I don't know what was going on with me, MC, Janet and Madonna 20 years ago, but albums only about romantic love were just not cutting it anymore. It must've been something in the water.

Re: Mariah Carey = Taylor Swift (78,692) (78,696) by Bill from the UK
According you Damizza, "Don't Forget About Us" is about their relationship. He titled his book chapter on MC that. I think "Thirsty" is also about him, though the die hards are convinced it's about Nick, which it so isn't.

Re: Beauty line/projects/tours (78,685) (78,694) by Lila from United States
That's because it is a bad thing to the $500M brigade. It hits a nerve for them that anyone would suggest that Mariah needs the money to upkeep her lifestyle versus their wishful thinking of her doing these things for kicks, any money made is just a cute token to spruce up her assumed already fat bank account, and that she could go chill on an island and do nothing but spend money like running water and never have to worry. Anyway, I'm like you. I don't mind at all that Mariah does things besides music to make money. However, my gripe is that she wants to go for cheap and demeaning bullcrap. She has the opportunity to actually start a really good business that could make her money, improve her image, actually be a creative outlet and she shuns it for crap like sugar water and dog walking apps.

Thank God I Found You was for Luis Miguel, and he dedicated her "O Tú, o Ninguna" which means "Either You, or no one" and you can read the lyrics here. Luis Miguel is not a songwriter though. Also, he would dedicate it to her everytime she went to his concerts. There's no video but I know he asked her to join him on the stage in Quilmes, Argentina where he kissed her. I've seen LuisMi do this a few other times with newer girlfriends so I'm pretty sure it happened. Thinking of their break up, there has to be a song for him in Charmbracelet and I think "I Only Wanted" is for him. In TGIFY she starts saying: "I felt like dying until you saved my life" and in IOW she goes: "Foolishly I romanticized someone was saving my life for the first time. I only wanted you to be there when I opened up my eyes." If you overthink it, the second part about her opening her eyes could be referencing when she was at the hospital in 2001 and he was in Los Angeles recording his album and didn't make the trip to NY.
