But it's true around Christmas, Mariah is really loved and appreciated. Back then I had to borrow the "Merry Christmas" cd to a lot of friends. And they still love the Christmas album. And how I the lyrics "Although that knife was shipping away at me, they turned their eyes away and went home to sleep." The song is like a poem. And when "Rainbow Interlude" follows it's so wonderful and perfect, like at the end everything will be fine. I miss that type of songs from Mariah. Did I Do That, like Boy, is a pimple on the beautiful face of Mariah's song book catalogue. I remember listening to that song the first time and my heart just sinking. I had barely got over the album cover and then when that song hit I was like, wow, this is even lower lol. But I persevered and Petals and Rainbow did kind of help bring the album back a bit, but yeh it's one of the reasons I don't spin Rainbow that much these days. (Tuesday 26 September 2017; 14:28)

I believe after I listened to Did I Do That (I hate that song) I said "F*ck this album." And I stopped listening. So I never got to listen to Petals. Compared to some of her recent hip hop collaborations, in my opinion Breakdown is the blueprint for how you do a hip hop collaboration right. It came together seamlessly. Everything just fit. Don't forget the endorsement for those social media sites (match.com anyone), the dog leash or pet daycare, and the million dollar lifestyle stuff they are peddling on her website. I actually think the make up, perfume, and nail polish were good ideas. The Mac collection came out exceptionally well. Besides her music, as long as they make the perfume I'm buying.
