Mine would be a double-disc edition with a cheesy predictable loose narrative.
Disc 1: I Came To Have A Party Heartbreaker Prisoner So Lonely I've Been Thinking About You Daydream Interlude Emotions Migrate I Know What You Want Sweetheart Didn't Mean To Turn You On Obsessed Fly Away Meteorite
Disc 2: Cloud of Reverie All Alone In Love Last Kiss It's A Wrap (Remix) The Wind Never Forget You Miss You Most Candy Bling Underneath The Stars Fourth Of July Bliss Yours I Still Believe Mine Again Lead The Way

Yup - Mariah should only darken her hair color if (caps) she cuts it short - around shoulder length short. Otherwise she shouldn't. Not while Stella's still around. I've had enough of twinsie fashion moments from those two and I am not prepared for a twinsie hair one. Flattering for Stella, insulting for Mariah.

Re: Longest weeks at #1? (77,761) (77,763)

I guess technically she would. How many weeks has this song spent at #1? I'm not worried about Rhianna breaking Mariah's record. The dominance of the Hot 100 has been waning and I think her next release with face a fate similarly to Katy's latest album and its singles. Mariah wasn't a featured artist on any of her #1's, she was the lead artist so even if Rhianna does tie or break her record Mariah will still be the female artist with the most #1's as the lead artist.

Mariah will always remain the female songwriter with the most #1's on the Hot 100, the first female artist to debut a single at #1 on the Hot 100, the first female artist to have the #1 and #2 singles on the Hot 100, and the artist with the most weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 (79). I don't think this song will break Mariah's 16 week record. I think it will tie We Belong Together and the others at 14 weeks. It might spend 15 but I doubt it.

I can't understand the fascination of Despacito too. It's nothing more than a summer song to dance to or chill outside. It's not my taste and I'm tired of it when it's playing on the radio. Well YouTube is one thing, to stay 16 weeks on number one another. I think Mariah's record will still last a while.

Nothing can actually take away from the genius artistry and phenomenal voice that Mariah Carey embodies. I guess the records are just the cherry on the cake that we lambs love throwing at other people's faces (I am guilty of that haha), because it's like one of those solid facts that no one can deny, you know what I mean? Some people will not accept that Mariah is a great singer, no matter how much you try to defend, they won't listen, so I'll throw the "Well she holds 18 #1's, a record, so shut your freaking mouth". Some people will say Mariah Carey songs are too cheesy or schmaltzy, at this point I play the "yet she manages to have 2 back to back 'Song of the Decade' title". It's a little kiddish, I know, but people can be biased and argue without reasons to lower Mariah's actual accomplishments/talent, but these records are set in stone so nobody can really deny no matter how much they dislike her. But I agree, holding these records for so long is a record in itself.

I honestly don't get the appeal of Despacito. I finally sat and really listened to it and I was like "WTF?" afterwards. I put this song in with Wild Thoughts. I love the Santana sample, but other than that I don't get it. I guess I really am getting old. I don't understand the young people music anymore. Lol.

I agree. Mariah has managed to hold these records for such a long time that at this point it doesn't really matter much, 22 years holding a record is a feast. She broke Elvis' record, but that didn't take way from his accomplishments or his place in music. I think it matters to fans, but generally I never heard any older person taking into account The Beatles' or Elvis' records when enjoying their music.

I need Justin to make a surprise #1 debut for the third time, or for Taylor to pop out a #1 debut, right about now. Mariah also holds the record for the most #1 debuts by the way. She has 3 debuts at #1, Justin and Britney [have] 2. This woman is holding so many records, it's crazy.

I agree, this is song is fire everywhere and it's #1 on iTunes, Streaming and the Hot 100, with Justin Beiber as featured on top of that. There's not any song as strong competing with it for the top spot. As a Latino, I would be happy, but I would also be sad because Mariah is definitely not a one-hit wonder. But records are made to be broken. And besides, we would be more at ease not having to worry about that anymore.

Little Drew, I can't be your cougar for obvious reasons, but if you can twist your body like Celine Dion while speaking with a strong British accent, I'm pretty sure the director of the American Association of Cougarees could get you on the list. You would have to send a video of you doing those things. A twisted picture wouldn't be cut it. If you can hold your cellphone while doing it, your place is guaranteed. Send video to FindMeACougarNow@Delulu.ng

I collected Mariah's Sony releases, during her initial stint at Columbia. I gave up after Glitter as more CD-Rs and questionable promos on eBay started appearing. I was collecting back in 1995 at record fares etc. before the Internet was a thing and just before her spike in popularity which meant I was able to get loads of her earlier items for not that much money. I also used to get CDs from mail order catalogues. I got pretty everything, but sold most of the vinyl when I moved house (big regret), but have some great items remaining which are really valuable now. I love talking collections and like you I do dust them off from time to time and clean the CDs, change the cases for new, and read the inlays haha.
