I must say I find it quite curious (78,033)
by Edouard from France

That the picture of "the person Mariah doesn't know" appears on the news section. I don't know her either and I wish to. BTW : Mariah's cover is so much better. She doesn't look like a duck toy/disco ball.

Paper Magazine photoshoot (78,032)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
For those interested, I'm attaching some more pictures that weren't in the article posted. I'm not posting all of them, just the ones I liked. This is a beautiful one, she looks great. This is from the car moment and another one, I think she looks really pretty. Here is a close up. While I don't necessarily love all the pictures, I appreciate that she has not retouched her face and body beyond recognition. I'm proud to see her embrace her weight here and even her face is a little puffy, they kept it that way. So no one can cry out "photo shop". The interview was very bland though, nothing much into it.

I was just thinking of Bodak Yellow. Too bad Mimi didn't get a bite at this Trap anthem, lol. I Don't is too tame and sentimental as a Trap song lol.

I thought Wild Thoughts had the best chance of dethroning Desp. Somebody needs to go to Taylor Swift's place and drop her new single for her. We can't have Desp dethrone OSD.

Mariah Page Six interview (78,029)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
So Mimi is in a recent Page Six interview talking about having low self esteem. She seems to relate that to whether or not people mean the flattering things they say to her and about deserving the same respect as others. Of course she deserves respect. Wish she could learn self respect and tie that showing more respect of herself rather than tying her esteem to what others say of her. Self esteem is esteem for one's self as self respect is respect for ones self. I will never get why she would deliberately act the "dumb ass" with her own self produced reality show then wonder why many didn't respect the results. Just reading that reaffirms that she has low self esteem, but also poor discernment skills, which leaves her vulnerable to sycophants and always doubtful, especially when they can't deliver the flattery 24/7, or when she gets bored or doubtful.

This is the thing I sometimes find really challenging about "fandoms". I love Mariah. Have been with her since day one. Care about her as a person, truly appreciate her gifts as a songwriter, musician and artist. I also happen to adore Latin music. I have for as long as I can remember. I love the song Despacito. It's a wonderfully structured pop song. Fantastic summer vibe, great to dance to and have fun. Yes, it isn't the meaningful lyric content of OSD, but by the same token I find it extremely moving and touching when music breaks the barriers of culture, language and dogma and is just about bringing us together in enjoyment. I had the biggest smile on my face when I found a YouTube video of artists singing Despacito in over 50 different languages. My loyalty to Mariah hasn't changed simply because I love other music. This song has been charting so well, because it's inspiring people. Can we not celebrate and allow it to have its time? It does nothing to diminish OSD, but, being asked to be upset out of loyalty to Mariah's record and fandom honesty does feel like sour grapes. I can't do that.

Money has a catchy hook and would have fit nicely on Top 40 radio at the time. Writing Thirsty was probably cathartic for Mariah. She put Nick on notice with that song. She knew he had ulterior motives but had her blinders on.

Despacito is a fun, summer, catchy song that people are obviously devouring. I'm not going to say it is bad song because it is about to dethrone OSD, but I definitely feel some relieve that maybe I won't have to worry about that record being tied or broken anymore. I'm not worrying about Rihanna's surpassing Mariah's 18 #1's either. It's getting kind of tiresome. They're just that, records, and as such, meant to be broken. Mariah should be proud to have held it for such a long time. I'm not sure yet they'd surpass it, but as I predicted, they might actually share the record with her. 17 weeks is a long time at the top.

The album should have been (78,021)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Mariah should have kept the original title as the album told a story of getting over heartache and the pain of divorce and splitting up her family. 1. Cry 2. Faded 3. Camouflage. 4. #Beautiful. 5. Dedicated. 6. You don't know what to do. 7. Supernatural. 8. Meteorite. 9. Make it look good. 10. The Art of letting go.

Paper Magazine shoot (78,020)
by Lila from United States
| |
|
|
I like the shot of her behind the flamingo floats. I also like the one of her standing near the clothing racks. She looks good, it looks glam and the dresses are nice. I think her face and hair style look nice in all the pictures minus the car picture. The makeup looks too heavy and unflattering in that one for some reason. However, besides the two pictures I just mentioned, I didn't care for the rest. The topless and clamshell bra pictures are tacky and uninspired. The car shot: I liked the concept but I didn't like the dress. Yet another quinceanera reject dress that was the wrong move.

I understand what they were trying to do. Seems like they were going for Vegas showgirl. The sexiness doesn't bother me. I knew that was going to happen. Lol I just don't like the outfit. I've seen her in better showgirl attire and she was beautiful and quite sexy. That showgirl look in the I Stay In Love video is the perfect example.

That's fantastic if I recall correctly, "Angels cry" and "Hateu " were released as one of the first ever Vevo videos. Slowly but steadily all her videos are getting Vevo certified.

I love MIAMTEC. I still listen to the album a lot. Its tracks are on my top 25 of most listened songs on iTunes. I love how she tells a story through the album. You can tell she was going through stuff (with Nick, obviously). The only so so tracks are Thirsty and Money.

The face shots are absolutely amazing and beautiful as for the attire for me I am not mad at all based on the publication amongst other things that I will keep to myself out of being a respectful man. On another note whoever was the photographer for this shoot should shoot the new album cover and packaging.

The album that should have been (78,010)
by Jenny from UK
| |
|

Despite the "messy' era, I created a playlist that when listened from start to finish is the album that should have been. It actually works as a coherent piece of work when the "singles" are put together in my opinion. 1. Triumphant (yes, original mix) 2. Almost Home 3. Beautiful 4. The Art of Letting Go 5. You're Mine 6. You don't know what to do 7. Faded 8. Thirsty 9. Infinity 10. Infamous 11. I Don't What do you guys think?

The photo of her on the car and the one where she is behind the flamingos are gorgeous. Don't know why team Mariah posted those other two pics on IG first when they had great photos like these. Oh well at least now everyone can see the better pics. Lol.
