You should know by now, I'm not one to mince words to you just because you're the webmaster. Been coming here since year 2000. I was a teen and coming here was like a ritual everyday but now, not so much I have social media for that. You need to hear what's said about your website on social media (Facebook especially) before you come for me, go do your research. What happened? How did this site become like this? And you're coming for me? Because I pointed out what every new person who comes here and manages to stay notices immediately, that this website is just a den of haters and monitoring spirits of Mariah Carey. You guys are no fans of hers for if you had any iota of love in you for her, you would keep shut and instead say a prayer for her. Yes something seems wrong but how does bickering and complaining help? I haven't been on this site for over a month and quite frankly speaking, I didn't miss it at all, I even actually feel better, no daily dose of negativity nor back and forth senseless arguements. I discovered Mariah Carey in 1995 long before I did your so fan site and long after your site's gone I will still be a Mariah Carey fan.

Gigi I was about to post the same thing. JD how are we negative when you did the same exact thing you accused of us of? Lol. Anyway, many of us older fans don't expect her to be perfect or sing like she did when she was 20. It would be nice, but many of us have accepted the fact that she's limited now and we stick around because despite her vocal limits she's still capable of giving us quality vocals and quality music if she chooses to put in the extra work. It's not wrong for us to want her to do better because we know she can do better.

This board has turned into childish bickering. I read posts, but barely post because what's the point? Yes Mariah may have changed. But don't we all ? Aside from that, the childish, rude, passive aggressive comments are ridiculous and half of you would never have the balls to say these things to Mariah's face nor to another board member if given the chance to be face to face. A lot of you all need to grow up and stop the back and forth nonsense. Grow up already, seriously.

Eric, a vomit button? I can't deal. Remember polyps and nodules can have an effect on people's short term memory. Eric, and you know very well that before addressing this person you should've waited for "Le Posté du Francois", remember they come in pairs. Lol.

That outfit was atrocious and why did she look like a giant next to the guys, even Jamie. The format of the show highlights the star for just a short segment, so no problem with the amount of time. I wish they used her songs for at least two questions though.

Sometimes I wonder if I should add a "vomit" icon. I sure could use one now after reading your message. You simply ignore the negative things JD said before, like Gigi pointed out.

Thank you JD for that post. Honestly, you're just 17, but sound much more mature in your ways of thinking and the delivery of the message, even more so than some 30 somethings and 40 somethings on here. Those ones are the worst, they've single-handedly given this message board a terrible reputation so much that the new lambs stay away from here and I think that's a real shame. I'm glad Mariah's still gaining fans in their teens like you, that's beautiful, shows you the power of this woman's life, voice and music. She's legit the one. Thank you once again for being the voice of reason on here. Lots of love.

At 17 you're pretty angry and hateful toward others. You need to chill a bit. When you were still fighting with millions of your siblings to come to be, we were already fans of Mariah's, and already in this messageboard. Welcome to the MCArchives Family by the way.

I don't think it's a case of people being negative, they just want the best for Mariah, and know we know she's capable of greater things. Us older lambs knew Mariah from the beginning so we can see how she's changed over the years, and each change was completely fine... apart from this last year where she had seemed completely different, so you can't blame people coming on here making observations when they're clearly worried about Mariah.

Yes agree it's totally down to what she feels was just looking for people's opinion on the voice. I agree with you very much on who Mariah is at the moment she's difficult to recognise and I'm worried about her.

Wait a minute - you just posted three days ago about her weight gain. Here's what you said, "She's looking like the next drag superstar with those unnaturally big looking thighs under those shiny nude colored stockings. Again I'm not one to shame somebodies body by any means it's just surprising to see her thighs get so big in literally a month lol. I'm really hoping she didn't do this for Bryan, thinking she'd look better 'slim thick' like Blac Chyna or something, because it really doesn't fit her overall appearance well. Hopefully by the tour with Lionel (I'm seeing her at the San Diego show) her thighs swell down because damn." So how about you take your own advice? Since you're new to this forum, I'll tell you that all of your past posts are saved. We can click on your picture and see everything. Just an FYI.

Stop the negativity (77,127)

I just joined this forum and you guys are honestly so negative. Mariah isn't 20 anymore lol so either enjoy the music from when she was in her 20s if that's what you want her to still sound like. It's impossible. Whitney was dragged through hell for her voice and weight gain before her death, then directly afterwards everyone swears they lived for her. Honestly Mariah's bar was so high anything lower is gonna be shit to you guys but I am a younger fan (17) and you guys need to stop being so negative constantly. Everyone has ups and downs in their life you can't expect her to be perfect for 27 years straight. I'm seeing her on the 27th with Lionel and I honestly don't care about him I'm just going to see her and I think she'll slay it. Honestly watching videos of performances can seem like they suck or don't sound right, because when you're watching the video all you focus on is the sound. When you're watching somebody live you feel the energy and you're dancing around having fun enjoying the moment. If you guys were there listening to her on the 3rd night of Vegas you'd probably have gotten chills. You can't expect an iPhone recording of a performance to sound as good as in person and/or a studio recording. I'll probably get attacked by you [censored] old lambs on here but honestly? [censored] and let the girl live. She's one of the last greats left alive and we're wasting all this time talking about this crap? You wonder why she doesn't seem as happy, it's not hard to search "Mariah Carey forum" and find this one and you already know Stella googles herself and Mariah constantly, maybe she sees all of you scalping her non stop and feels discouraged when her fanbase is the one being more hateful than the general public. The end.

I don't want her to lose the whistle register. There is no guarantee that surgery will fix the damage done to her voice but there is a real possibility she will lose the whistle register as a result. I think disciplined coaching would help her improve. Listening to her live performances in the last few years it sounds like she's either not sure where to take the note, or she realises last second that she won't be able to replicate the sound in her head, and things end up sounding off. Working with a professional coach could help her ease into the current condition of her voice.

You're right. She can't do any melisma anymore. The upper register is lipped. She just sort of... yells in tune I guess is one way of putting it.

She seemed confused herself. I wish she had stayed on a little longer and wore something that didn't look like something Liz Taylor wore in the 80's. She should have walked out singing Always Be My Baby and greeted the contestants and played a round or two.

I don't know, I have the same opinion as Licia. Mariah should take the one, which she feels comfortable with. To be honest I'm on a point where I'm more worried of the person Mariah than of her voice. I can live without her whistle register and I'm ok if she wants to do only singles and some strange commercials. But it hurts to see her in Vegas, Mariah looks like a caricature. So unnatural and again not happy. She or Mishka can post a hundred "fun" Tanaka pictures. I don't believe it. I would love to know what she really thinks inside. She's too smart for the circus but she keeps it. Why? Like someone on this board said, sometimes it looks like self sabotage. Is this the price for her fame? I don't recognize her most of the time. And it makes me so sad. So what I really want is that Mariah finds her inner peace again, her true strength (without playing a role and awkward pics). Hollywood Vegas just no, I prefer the "New York girl". Sorry but I had to speak about my inner feelings.

I would prefer her to do whichever one she feels will be beneficial to her. I love the whistle register, but I don't have to hear it in every song and like you've said she's recorded many great songs without using it.

I absolutely agree with you. I've commented on this video asking some of the viewers to explain what goes here because I can't, for the life of me, understand the point of her appearance. Regarding Vegas, I'm glad that she sounds slightly better, but as a singer myself, I'm not blown away at all. Not even in the slightest. I now avoid talking Mariah to any of the peeps I know who are musically inclined. It's become impossible to defend her. PS. I'm still a fan.

MC Vegas vocals (77,120)

Honestly, I don't mind the vocals. Yes, she should have put some more effort into the first couple of shows, and that is completely unprofessional. But what does bother me is just how unequivocally miserable she looks on stage. She clearly doesn't want to be there. And through it all, she's always (in my opinion) showed up for her fans, as we have always managed to remind her why she does what she does. But something has changed. In saying that though, I've just finished a 5 month tour of Les Mis, and as fun as it was, I can't think of anything worse than doing it again. Same show day in day out got old. Real quick. And 5 months ain't nothing on 27 years. Oh Mariah.

Voice coach or operation (77,119)
by Jamie from UK

Hey guys. Just thought I'd bring this to the table. Would you prefer Mariah got strict vocal training or had an operation to remove her nodules and risk loosing the whistle register? I personally would go for the operation, as Mariah has done so many great songs without the whistle register i.e. All I've Ever Wanted, Everything Fades Away, My All to speak of a few. If she could get good quality back in her voice I'd prefer that. And I think it would give her the confidence to perform great again. Let me know your views.
