Re: Biggest concern (77,070) (77,073) by Lila from United States
I don't care. If you don't like what I have to say, ignore my posts. It's really simple.

I agree with your post Bill, but you made "re-arranging" her songs sound bad. In fact, I think it's what will save her reputation as a singer and as a vocalist. Re-arranging her songs will show the general public that she is creative and at the same time, it will allow Mariah to pick which aspects of her voice to be showcased and which to be hidden, which then leaves her with nothing to be lipped or faked. Of course she still needs to retrain her voice so that she would be able to do more things with her voice, but re-arranging her songs would be a really great idea. Maybe she could strip it down to just a guitar. Maybe she could do a full-on jazzy version of her songs. Maybe she could blend a live orchestra and give it a little hip hop spin, a la Lana Del Rey. Maybe she could slow it down and give a more tropical feel. The possibilities are endless given her talents. Problem is she seems to be stuck in a creative rut and is quite uninterested in performing nowadays.

Wasn't that during the time she had her first miscarriage?

While most of us are aware that there are issues in Mariah land, your constant overly judgmental tone of critiquing her with nothing but contempt has really grown old. And this is not in the vein of "telling it like it is".

The first few shows are the warm-ups. Duh. Y'all don't get it yet? Lol.

Re: Biggest concern (77,062) (77,068) by Lila from United States
Rehearsals and warm ups you say? I don't think Mariah knows what those are anymore. The way these shows are going it seems our dear Mariah thinks the audience is paying to see her make a fool of herself prancing around the stage with For Hire, indulging her desperate need to be seen as wanted.

Re: Biggest concern (77,059) (77,066) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Yup I agree, she should have been rehearsing enough so that her voice stays consistent from the first show. I keep hearing this "oh don't worry her voice will improve after the third or fourth show", especially on UKMix, and I'm like how is that fair to the people on the first few shows? It's not like they are getting a discount for being the trial audience. From what it looks like, before every leg, Mariah is on vacation right up until the date of the first show. Now her being on vacation is fine but she should at least start rehearsing a few days ahead of time.

Re: Why you mad at Mariah? (77,030) (77,064) by Sasha from Nomansland
Your positive thoughts and your prayers don't seem to help her neither. Mariah needs more than condescending and compassionate people around her. Instead of spending the last three years dragging her misery and despair in the eyes of all, she could have spent that time solving her issues and take some time for herself. Everything she has done lately is a crying out for help but nobody is listening. As fans, all we can do is wait and watch Mariah being hurt by herself and destroyed by Stella. It's a bit frustrating don't you think ?

Re: Biggest concern (77,061) (77,063) by Sasha from Nomansland
I guess fans are used now to see her fail or fake most of her performances. Mediocrity became the new standard.

Re: Biggest concern (77,059) (77,062) by Malcolm from Asia
It's just purely unfair for those who attended the first show. That's why there's a thing called rehearsal and warm up. She's a singer so she's expected to deliver.

Re: Biggest concern (77,059) (77,061) by Bill from the UK
I can't get my head around how, for a singer of Mariah's status, it is now perfectly acceptable amongst fans for her first few shows to be horrifically bad and that she will improve show by show. If you pay top dollar for tickets to a Mariah Carey concert, you should expect her to do her job professionally and be able to sing through her songs without lip syncing or making changes to the arrangements and keys so that she can sing them through. If I did my job half arsed I'd be sacked, but instead I go in every day and give it "my all", as should she.

Artist Stand Up to Cancer 2008 live (77,060) by Malcolm from Asia
I know I'm late but does anyone know why Mariah seemed lost in this performance? Did she have personal problem that time or what? Because she seemed the only who was not enjoying it lol.

Re: Biggest concern (77,027) (77,059) by Andrew from UK
The maxim that Mariah's voice will "improve in later shows" is nonsense. She's perfectly capable of warming up, or singing at home, or in the shower, etc. Her voice is just damaged, even more so than it was a year ago. Drinking and (alleged) smoking probably weren't the cleverest of moves, and now she, and we, are reaping the results. Add to the drinking and smoking the seemingly blatant over-eating - that she is quite ginormous in size to the point where moving her body seems like an arduous task - and that her over-augmented breasts are heavy weights attached to her frame, and it doesn't make for anything like an entertaining show. The Richie fans are going to skin her alive. I'm surprised her own fans are not.

Your mental disturbance gets more serious by the day. Now Mariah isn't fat, it's the photographers making sure they get bad angles? You really are a total loon.

Re: Weight gain (77,051) (77,056) by Malcolm from Asia
Honestly, it's fine if she's fat or whatever because who am I to judge her, that's her body so she can be whatever she wants to be. But like what I said before, seeing her gain weight through the years, you can't help but think that maybe there's something wrong behind the camera. The problem with this is really her fashion choices and the acceptance, because admit it, Mariah seems in denial when it comes to this. If she can approach it like Adele or Kelly Clarkson by saying "[censored] it I'm fat, so what?" then I think there will be no problem at all. Just own it and wear clothes that fits with her current weight and not these leotards and shit because it's almost awkward to see what she wears and do in the stage like what is the sense of lifting her up in the middle of her performances? I really don't get it. She's not a dancer to do this stuff, she's a singer so just have a fabulous hair, wear great outfits and sing, that's all she needs to do, fat or not.

Hi MusicfanJ from Germany. Thanks for your reply. Probably she doesn't think that we deserve her, but I guess it's clear she is trying to use us (using and standing alone on her name). And I think she has doing it very well as she is always making headlines and money without the need to put much effort in anything she does. If I'm not mistaken, she is the only artist out there doing this and being successful. I have a lot of theories, so I will share them later with this lambily messageboard.

Question (77,054) by Billy from Greece
Once more, in case someone remembers, where and when did Mariah say that when she did "Fantasy" there was no rap/sung Grammy category?

Re: I'm so confused - weight gain (77,049) (77,053) by B from USA
These photographers make sure they catch her at unflattering angles because a picture of Mariah looking disheveled and fat sells more than one of her looking good.

Re: Weight gain (77,048) (77,051) by Licia from USA
So the consensus seems to be that she won't lose a lot more fans because her voice sucks. She'll lose them because she's fat. Also over the years before the huge vocal decline, the fans and the general public only liked her because she was skinny. Vocals and great songwriting had nothing to do with her popularity. Got it. Seems legit. Lmao.

I'm so confused - weight gain (77,049) by JD from United States
Okay first off this is my first post on here but I had to say something, am I the only one super confused? I'm gonna start off by saying I personally don't care what Mariah looks like, but I know that the rest of the world does and her music sells 99.9% better during eras where she looks good and fit. I don't mean to body shame but what happened? Just a month ago on TMZ I saw a video of her walking down Rodeo (you can search her name on TMZ and it's the most recent article about her) and she looked great. not as skinny as 2013 for sure but about the same as 2016. Now she was wearing all black but watching the recent Vegas shows her thighs have literally doubled in size in about a month? Maybe it's the unflattering outfits she wears but damn girl. I mean I think it looks good but I really hope she didn't get a fat transfer from her stomach to thighs/hips because it doesn't fit her or look right on her. Maybe she got some kind of lipo? I know that when you get lipo on your legs they swell for about two weeks and then go down so maybe that's it? Is she wearing padding? She's looking like the next drag superstar with those unnaturally big looking thighs under those shiny nude colored stockings. Again I'm not one to shame somebodies body by any means it's just surprising to see her thighs get so big in literally a month lol. I'm really hoping she didn't do this for Bryan, thinking she'd look better "slim thick" like Blac Chyna or something, because it really doesn't fit her overall appearance well. Hopefully by the tour with Lionel (I'm seeing her at the San Diego show) her thighs swell down because damn.
