Re: MC Vegas vocals (77,184) (77,189) by Victor from Costa Rica
I mean, you look good my friend. You look like a celebrity. Hehehe. So I knew somebody was going to give you an opportunity in show business. I don't know for how long you have been working in theater, but I was pretty sure you didn't have a regular office/desk job. Good for you. Lots of success.

Mariah the mother vs Mariah the entertainer (77,186) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I believe there are many sides to us all, and Mariah is no different even though we sometimes hold her to a different standard than the average human being. Looking at the clip from Las Vegas with Dem Kids that is where I saw a joy that is indescribable. You can tell the love she has for her children is unconditional and having them in her life has brought a whole new meaning to her she lives for them besides herself. On the other hand Mariah the entertainer is the one who loves the attention of the fans and media and has some insecurities that she deals with on a everyday basis this is why she wears the over the top outfits, her diva persona comes on full force, and she lives for the accolades and praise and without any of that Mariah the entertainer is incomplete. Long story short Mariah the mother is the real Mariah the loving, nurturing, down to earth being, while Mariah the entertainer is the Mariah that is a full fledge diva who has lost her way and lives in a bubble, and is afraid of her real self.

"I wonder if the woman who wears lingerie at a night club is some sort of decoy stunt double sometimes." Haha yes Bill you're right. That's the reason for all. The pics with the kids shows the real Mariah. The other woman is just a double. Mariah thinks a double is perfect, she has free time to spend with the family and the double is working. Lol.

You knew it? I'm an actor and a singer. Can't dance to save myself. Unless there's vodka.

That was a great video, thanks for sharing. The only glimpses of the Mariah I know and love is when she is with her children. The Instagram pics she always looks happy and normal and relaxed and real, same as that moment with them on stage. I wonder if the woman who wears lingerie at a night club is some sort of decoy stunt double sometimes.

Wow Mara, your thoughts are great as usual, thanks for sharing. I hope you get well soon, the lambily will send you some love. I completely agree with everything you said. It must be very hard to be Mariah Carey, but it's clear that's not the only reason why she is suffering. Like you said we "older" ones know her golden years and I miss the human Mariah. The last two years MC is hiding herself through a masquerade. I also wish she would talk more about some things, show the world her human side. It's not healthy to hide the feelings 24/7. I'm sure most of the people and fans would understand more things if she just talks a bit. The glamour diva unicorn world needs a break. I think you can compare Mariah to a good friend, if he/she would look troubled a true friend would speak up. The one who will stay silent, isn't a friend. And yes, we lost too many great artists the last few years. So it's natural to get a little bit worried after the latest actions. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who's having those thoughts. The Russian clan doesn't care at all, I just wish Mariah would know that we care for her as a human being not only the superstar.

I saw the spark in Mariah's eyes that's been missing during the past several months in the video I shared. I loved 90's Mariah, I loved 00's Mariah, and I love 10's Mariah.

Randy. You are the last person I would think would be delusional that alcohol is a problem. Stumble out of a club drunk? Did you forget the 1OAK wrap party where she was sauced up, with drunk lady hair while still in the club, wearing an unflattering outfit where people were taking unflattering pics while she was bending over with her a@@ hanging out? Or at least one wine glass in every episode of Mariah's World. There was one episode where she had a glass of wine in her hand before she went on stage for her SSFT. Lets not forget the Palm Springs Festival moment the birthed the term "splashes" (I'll use that word forever now - lol). Anyway. I did want to tell you that there is someone close to me that wanted to give up on life. They figured it was over for them. I played them the lyric video to "Right To Dream.". They were really moved and wondered why she didn't release it and "what album was it on". It's become their theme song. It really has a great lyric. I accidentally clicked on Triumphant and he wanted to hear the lyrics and loves the song (especially once I introduced him to the Vintage remix). When people are at their worst, it just goes to show her songs of hope really do help people heal.

Oh Blondie. Everytime I see a new little lamb start to post here and go to far with their fluff I say to myself, he is going to have a @#$%%$# field day replying to this post. You just can't help yourself can you? Lol. You just love being a big ole "meanie". Lol. Random, I like your new picture but why is it sideways?

Come on now, he is 17. Immaturity would be expected at that age. Most of us are pushing 40, it's not cute to fight with a 17 year old, even on the internet.

Re: Stop the negativity (77,127) (77,169) by 123 from USA
Welcome JD. I'm almost shocked that there is someone so young that's into Mariah. Reminds me of the 9 year old girl who was being bullied in school who made a video explaining her experience while playing Can't Take That Away. I do agree with one thing you said. It's going to be like Whitney, where everyone is going to say they loved her. Everyone wants to criticize, although everything said is valid, but no one is willing in joining in to pray for her. Something is very wrong with her. She doesn't even seem happy. It's almost as bad as she got during the Chanteuse tour. I really did think she was going to leave this earth during that time due to alcohol intoxication like Amy.

Thoughts (77,167) by Mara from United States
Hi to all my MCArchives family. I've been away a few weeks and have been going through some health issues. If I could ask for some prayers from any of you who believe in a higher power or positive vibes, I would greatly appreciate it. I have noticed a few new faces since I have been gone and I do have to defend Eric, his website and some of us "older posters". I love that MC still is gaining young fans and I appreciate that as we know she does too. What I hate, is that us "old folks" and the young ones are so divided. I have to agree with the other posts, that we just happened to live through her "golden years" and simply know what she is capable of creating. I believe that is her blessing and curse at the same time. Mariah in her prime, was simply untouchable and could do no wrong and created masterpieces. I am so in need of a new spiritual song right now and have been spoiled since I was 15 of getting one every album all through life. I think people don't understand the Andrews and Edwards of this board would not be here if they didn't still hold hope that this woman could create something wonderful. She just seems lost and has for a while now. The last clips I saw of Vegas showed a beautiful woman who looks just over it. Like she is blank and isn't there. The Mariah I knew, checked out. It's frustrating as I still believe this woman has sit in her. Maybe her true fans are too hard on her and we should cut back. I think that may be true. That is what she always gave us though, so that is Mariah's blessing and curse at the same time. I believe she knows that and at this stage in her life, can't live up to it. I completely understand that. It's when she literally looks completely over it, stiff and medicated that worries me. If there are issues she needs to deal with, take some time off. Take some time for you, heal, find yourself. Why is she up there for the world to see this vulnerable state. It's been that way since Chanteuse to be completley honest. Why is her management allowing or pushing her to continue? She needs to soul search. She has been through life changing events having two beautiful children and then going through a divorce. There is no reason to be so public and all over TMZ when clearly she is still going through something. I still look at MC as the sister I never met, and after losing my all time fav male artist George Michael, Mariah is all I have left. I don't want to see that happen to her. I would be perfectly fine with her taking some time to heal and find herself again and come back stronger. I'm sorry if we seem like we cannot be pleased, but I know a lot of us just care about Mariah Carey the person and do not like what we are seeing before our eyes. When all we see is the Russian family and no longer Mariah's own even mother, something just seems off, and has for a few years. I am grateful we have her and she is still here for us to see perform live and I hope she kills the Lionel tour and proves those fans of his that attacked her since the announcement wrong. A part of me still wishes she would do a sit down with either Barbara, Oprah, Diane or even Matt Lauer and come clean on some things, say what she's been through. Tell the world how hard it is to be Mariah Carey, live up to that expectation, her divorce, go deeper into her childhood, explain why she takes on the diva persona, mention her voice and how it's a fragile instrument, bring up NYE, whatever. Let the world know you are human and then build up for that comeback and come back with a last vengeance. That is my wish anyhow. At this point, what does she has to lose? She has nothing but a gain. She needs some to win back the people and let them in on some things. She is public for the wrong reasons. People would be on her side again as I do believe they would like to see her back.

She could have the agility again. She seemed to really seem a great year in regards to agility in 2013. I mean how nice are these riffs? Like I said, she just needs to give up the alcohol. No surgery needed, but maybe rehab, for sure prayer (prayer typed in caps). Watch this video of clips in 2013 regarding her agility.

Vegas 7/11/17 (77,165) by JD from United States
Anyway, I'm listening to the recordings from her show on the 11th and they sound bomb to me. I'll admit watching the ones from earlier this week kinda had me discouraged but damn she sounded really good on Tuesday from what I saw. Watch "Love takes time" and the climax of Honey (not the lipped part but before that even sounded good) both are on YouTube and it sounded super clear and higher than I expected.
