Re: Dog walking app (75,895) (75,899) by Licia from USA
I rolled my eyes so hard when I saw that on Ig. Promoting everything, but music. Not even really promoting the dang tour.

Re: Merry Christmas II You (75,896) (75,898) by Licia from USA
I agree. One child and When Christmas Comes are beautiful songs and the vocals were top notch. This era showed that she could still put together great music. I don't know whether it was the pregnancy that motivated her, but I'd like her to get back into that space.

Shawn probably likes to feel important so Mimi let's him drunk tweet random thoughts from time to time. The narrative will change again when it is expedient to do so.

When Christmas Comes still warms my heart. Such a great song with great vocals.

Dog walking app (75,895) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Stella has got Mariah another stone groove smash hit endorsement deal, a dog walking app. Every A list celebs wish they could land such a deal.

Shawn game (75,894) by RibbonB from USA
Just having "fun" with the game, but did anyone else notice Shawn posted a picture of a black car and a white car parked at Marian's house? He hash tagged both car show and Mimi. The picture then mysteriously disappeared. The white car was Nick's Rollls with the Ncredible plate. The one Mariah was seen out and about in on multiple sightings during the "she is back with Nick week". Perhaps Lannister has some insight into that.

Wasn't she provoked though? Didn't Em diss her and Nick before she released Obsessed? I love Obsessed. I've had a few stalkers or ex's that can't or won't move on.

Was also very touching. How sad that he was to be in the audience of her show on his planned vacation.

Totally agree. A keen observer would have noticed that the 2009-2011 period was a huge transition in the music industry in many ways. This was a time when Lady GaGa and Ke$ha, who ushered in and dominated the scene with electropop from 2009-2010 started to get crushed under the very trends they repopularized in 2011, just a year later. This also brought in the new wave/generation of music fans, the ones who equate relatability with youth, and so artists over 35 began to feel the real struggle of having a top 10 hit without doing something drastic or controversial. This is where ageism became truly apparent. Add to that the shift from being an album-driven to a single-driven business (Adele would later on be the only exception), we would now see why Mariah, a true 90s albums artist, would find it really difficult to catch up. Her decision-making career-wise progressively began to go downhill since then, with more misses and lesser hits as years went by. As terrible as the Idol stint was, she didn't use the renewed interest in her wisely. At the same time, the producers also decided to milk the unappealing feud for promotional purposes. Then came the multiple album delays and her accident which completely crippled any legs that MIAM had back then. It really was a series of unfortunate events and bad decisions. Come to think of it, for Mariah, the only great things that came out of the 2009-2013 period were Memoirs, MC2Y, DemBabies and #Beautiful.

I was thinking the same Mariah should definitely be there especially for Martyn, she is not doing anything else right now is she?

The diva demands on set (75,888) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I completely get Mariah refusing to be "shot" with a gun that kills her off in the movie. First of all she's playing herself, why would she want to get shot, it's not a character, it's Mariah. Second with all the violence around, I understand she might not be comfortable with such morbidity, this is a sensitive topic. What I don't get is how she only got to know about this on the day of the filming. I'm sure when hiring her, they gave a briefing of what they expected, why didn't her team out right refuse it then and there and suggest the changes before Mariah signed? Stella are you so freaking busy counting money that you didn't even read? Can you even read or is your reading capability on the same level as your contouring skills? Secondly why sign on to sing a song and not sing? I honestly am so confused, jeez. What on earth is going on?

I do hope she joins them for the victims especially Martyn. Not to sound insensitive but it can also squash whatever she and Ariana have. Now, if it happens that someone will mention Ariana in her future interviews and I will hear another I don't know her or I don't listen to pop music, she's crazy and absurd like it's too much.

Re: I was born at night, not last night (75,883) (75,886) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
While there is a chance that there was "more to the story than we know", you think Mariah's team wouldn't have released a statement saying all those "gold digger, fame hungry, user" stories were untrue? Come on now, they even released a statement that Mariah didn't have a "feud" with Joe Jonas at the NYE event, and that is something no one even reported on, yet they addressed it. They responded to some story about Mariah getting it on with Tanaka at a restaurant loo, yet another story I didn't hear about before they responded. Yet when multiple stories were leaked about Tanaka, not one to oppose it? Shawn wasn't even in contact with Mariah all these months, he said it himself that he hasn't spoken to her since Christmas, up until his birthday recently. Don't know why he even bothered answering stuff.

Re: Mariah lost the plot after Memoirs (75,878) (75,885) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Although it frustrates me to no end that Mariah seems to have completely dropped promoting anything (especially after hyping it up before the release only to never speak of it again), I think I can still take that over the phony reality TV star drama that has been going on since the last 2 years. I mean fine, if she just wants to release stuff without caring how it does on the charts, it's up to her. Yes, we as fans will always want her to get one more hit era especially after the blow her image and career has received recently, but if Mariah says she's fine with releasing stuff without caring about the charts, I'm cool with it, but don't give us missed signals. Like you say you don't care, but yet you are going out of your way to risk all that you have achieved by acting like a budding reality star, "to stay relevant" is just confusing and doesn't make sense to me. Why drum up unnecessary publicity? Especially stuff that is so blatantly fake that no one, absolutely no one buys it anymore. The Tanaka angle, come on, really? Ever since Stella came on board, it's like Mariah can't stay single for a second. We get the Packer drama, even before that ended, we get the Tanaka drama. Before that even left the cooker, we immediately get bombarded with photos of Nick and Mariah going out to eat every single day, and stories about how they are back. Then suddenly Tanaka is back and Nick has completely disappeared. Stella for all the "empower women" bullshit you keep talking about, why are you making Mariah seem like she can't stay a second without a man? Mariah why are you going through with this? And who on earth goes out to eat every night all decked up, to known paparazzi infested places? You all gotta decide what you really want. Don't ruin your legacy to appeal to teens, who at the end of the day won't really buy music until it appeals to their taste. At this rate, it seems like Stella has left the Kardashian route and is instead taking the Bella Thorne route.

Martyn on Wendy (75,884) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm sorry if this has been posted here before me, but Wendy had a minute long segment on her show about Martyn. As we know, Martyn was supposed to be in the US right about now and he booked tickets on the Wendy show for 2 consecutive days. Wendy kept a seat for him in his honor and contacted his friend to let her know that she's honoring him. She spoke a little about him. It was sweet and a gesture he would appreciate. Martyn, gone, but not forgotten.

Re: I was born at night, not last night (75,837) (75,883) by Lannister from USA
Forget the personal beef/argument - not interested in that. But on the substance, I don't understand what you're upset about. On the album front he posted the following yesterday: "It's not even June. Plenty of time to finish it in the lab. I think you guys misinterpreted my earlier tweet" and "Recall she used to put an album out every year for a long time. It doesn't take 6 months to record an album. She already has a handful started." So perhaps it's both true that she has a few songs she's currently working on/are done and she plans on finishing/putting out an album this year. On the relationship front, he doubled down last night on it and I read it a little differently than you did. He said "whomever said it or leaked it spoke out of turn". Perhaps that was a subtle shot at the leaker and there's more to the story than we know?

The stars are out (except one?) (75,882) by Andrew from UK
So almost everyone, it seems, is signing up for Ariana's charity gig. Where is Mariah's name? She could even do a somber duet with Martyn's friend on TTEOT. It's obviously of her own volition. But if she didn't go, having nothing on, I'd probably think less of her. In fact, that might even just be *it*.

I see the jackass is back to make an ass of himself again. That's another thing about the nature of jackasses, they never tire of making asses of themselves. Here we go, anyway. I don't give a rats ass how many A's you received in English. They're obviously not helping you comprehend what I said in my post. You took one sentence out of context and are now trying to make it mean something that it doesn't. As for the rest of your post, again you tried to bring me down. Again, you didn't succeed. It's honestly hilarious. I have no life and I'm spreading hate because I take 5 minutes, if that, out of the roughly 1440 minutes available in one day to give a view point that you don't like or agree with? I'm hiding behind a Mariah icon? I'm always bewildered by how people like you don't get how stupid they sound when they say things like this. Those are such pathetic conclusions but I'm not surprised. I already know that when someone can't refute what the other person is saying, with logic or reasonable evidence to back them up, they go to the childish place. I know I'm not hateful nor do I spread it or will ever be consumed by it but it's quite obvious that you're already consumed by stupidity and no amount of A's can erase that. Still, I want to thank you so much for caring so much about my posts. I feel kind of bad, actually. You're so pressed about my posts and I, on the other hand, scroll right the [censored] on by yours when I see your username because I already know that they're not worth reading. Which, after this post, I will continue to do. Bye clown.

Merry Christmas II You (75,879) by Edward from USA
It's impressive how Mariah was more focus on music while going through a high-risk pregnancy. MCIIY was a great album, her voice improved tremendously, recovering some of that buttery tone she had lost in the 90's. I was like: This woman is about to give birth(so dramatic) on stage while singing "One Child" at "Christmas in Washington 2010" and on top of that with her very own set of polyps and nodules, yet she gave us a great performance. That's the Mariah most of us fell in love with, the Mariah that put together a song like "One Child" and delivers it with conviction and mastery. That's why I don't understand how after "Almost Home", "100%" and "One Child", she could come with "I Didn't" and "Oh no, I Didn't" remix and expect people to take her seriously.

Re: Mariah lost the plot after Memoirs (75,876) (75,878) by Edward from USA
When "Obsessed" was released the music industry was definitely morphing into something completely different from what we had experienced, but Mariah seemed focus on promotion and serious about her music. Somewhere along the way after "Angel's Advocate" was shelved, she lost interest. It seemed to be that her muse or love for music wasn't there anymore. Yes, she's always said music is her passion, but it keeps looking like she's only saying it and not acting on it. Did she run out of things to sing about or did she hit a creative wall? Maybe, it happens to people, and she's only human, but I rather she takes her time to create great music than putting something out thinking her name would be enough for it to successful when she's not relevant like that anymore. I would actually be happy if she came with a great album in a couple of years, and not an album full of mediocre music that would look like a stain in her impressive catalogue.

Re: Message from Martyn's mom (75,869) (75,877) by Edward from USA
It was definitely beautiful. When Martyn posted how his heart was breaking because his mother hadn't sold anything at that fair, it also broke my heart and I understood how much they really loved each other. She must be proud Martyn had so many people who genuinely loved him. If he's watching from anywhere, he must be proud and happy.

Re: Mariah lost the plot after Memoirs (75,871) (75,876) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I've noticed it too. There was a change with "Obsessed". Like Hilton on this board said the song release was not typical for Mariah. Was it the time Mariah's private life was already a bit suffering? Or just the changes in the musicbiz? I don't know. And I hope if she releases a new song it will be a happy or "fun" song like Honey. Please no more drama song about a bitter ending romance for a single release.

"Why mention finish if it hasn't even begun and now we're hearing it's barely anything." And you say you're not getting worked up? Lol. Yet you talk about reading and comprehension, my reading and comprehension is top notch. It's the reason why I was a straight A English student and still am. [censored] You have nothing positive to say here, always complaining. [censored] [censored] Because if you did have a life, half the things that bug you so much about Mariah that you see the need to come on here and make a fool of yourself wouldn't even matter. It's not that deep. Damn. Churning our negativity like it's your second nature, yet hiding behind a Mariah picture anonymously, how pathetic. Lmao. Spread love Lila not hate it's gonna consume you very soon.
