Re: The turd turbulence (75,231) (75,236)
by Edward from USA

Drew, that's never going to happen. Everything that goes on Mariah's World is due to some external forces working against her. You can read the Delulons here stating how she had to fire JD and Randy Jackson because they were responsible for the demise of MIAM and her American Idol fiasco respectively, and they state that as facts, as if they could produce any proof that it happened that way. LA Reid made a comment and all of a sudden everything he did for Mariah is done and forgotten, now he's the bad guy and partially guilty for Mariah's big balloons and cheek implants. Some even deny Mariah has done anything to her new Stella-look-alike face when it's effing clear the woman has been on Hollywood mode for quite sometime now. Yes, there are people working with Mariah that are definitely incompetent, but Mariah hired them. These leeches most of us talk about didn't just come out of nowhere, they were put in place by Ms. Carey. So, if Ms. Carey doesn't care about these leeches leeching on her, I say they should leech on her mercilessly. It's her money and even if Stella and posse leached 50 million from her, she'll still be OK. If there isn't any desire in Mariah for making good music as she's been showing with these mediocre singles and remixes, I think she should just retire and keep on doing reality TV, she's very good at it, and she doesn't have to sing.

Mariah's debut album (75,235)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|
|
I'm still blown away by her debut album. Also some parts has the 80ies early 90ies elements (love it), the production was perfection and 100% on point. In '90 it was like boom here's the new superstar, and she won't go. My mother bought the record immediately after listening to "Vision of love". So I guess she influenced me then when I was little. My first cassette album was Daydream. Anyway I wish she would work with professionals again. I'm trying to keep excited for the new label. Hopefully it brings "fresh wind" and new inspiration.

How cool, I read MC threw the kids another party and invited their entire karate class. I bet those kids were so excited. I also saw a few celebrity kids there like Tamar's son and Chris Brown's daughter. Must be nice.

I hope she has the best, most fun Mother's day to date. Those kids are getting bigger and more adorable as time goes by. I hope that she and her family truly enjoy the day and to all the mothers on this board, happy day as well.

The turd turbulence (75,231)
by Andrew from UK
| |
|

Everyone bangs on about the people Mariah employs. Why does nobody put the responsibility at Mariah's door to write good music, sing well and look good? You can't polish a turd. When does the responsibility become Mariah's to wake up and stop acting like a loser?

I do agree. Mariah is a "native New Yorker". She grew up riding the subways, running with people up in Harlem, down on Broadway. She's no tramp, but she's no lady. Talking that street talk. She's the heart and soul of New York City.

Way to further dilute your icon legend status Mariah. No doubt your stupid worthless "manager's" idea. Just get lost. Come at fifty looking rested healthier and with real music. A jazz album. Forget the charts and number one hits. If it happens it happens. You've made your mark. Just do gppd age appropriate music. No rappers. No modern producers. Dump that butch manager and get your shit together.

Billboard's 2017 Power 100 (75,227)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
So the annual power list was released from Billboard this year and guess what? No Stella. But in all seriousness a name that has never left the top 100 since I've been checking for years is Irving Azoff. (This year he places at no.6 right behind Rob Stringer, new boss of Sony records.) Mariah had him as a manager (with Randy Jackson) from November 2011 to sometime in 2013. I can only only imagine how things would've turned out if she stayed with the two of them. Sure Randy had two misses, the Bieber duet and A.I. but he was instrumental in the early stages of MIAM album. I remember I hated this article so much but now in hindsight (and Stella) I wish I could go back in time.

LA may have left on his own (75,225)
by T from USA
| |
|
|
When Doug Morris stepped down as ultimate leader at Sony records I have a feeling LA Reid (close personal friend of Morris) thought he would be next in line. I mean he's worked so long in this industry and the top job would be the last thing he had left to fulfill in his storied career. But instead it went to Stringer, the main guy at the sibling label Columbia. I can see how ego's can get in the way and tempers could flare causing Reid to leave.

Congratulations to you Jade. Your avatar is beautiful. How cool is it that you and your husband choose "License to kill". I love that song since I first heard it. And "Melt away" is such a wonderful song. Perfect combination.

I agree. Simon, who created X-Factor and is an executive producer, wouldn't allow another panelist to blatantly disrespect a living legend like Nigel did. He also wouldn't promise her a three person panel and blindside her by adding a fourth judge to the panel before the ink had dried on her contract. I don't think Mariah was upset that they chose Minja. I think she was upset that she was lied to and that Nigel and his cronies convinced Minja that Mariah's issue were with her. They knew it would create drama which was what they wanted, it was obvious the moment they announced she was joining AI as a judge. She had no place on a panel that judges singers since she isn't a singer. Besides Mariah isn't as big in the UK as she is in the US and I don't see them paying her $18 million and she won't accept less than that, don't delude yourselves into thinking she would. She's regained her relevancy in the UK with her well received tour and Without You is her only UK #1. If she does I just hope she doesn't adopt a faux English accent like Madonna did.

She could quit Crustella and Co., sell all her useless houses/apartments/cars and go to her wonderful penthouse in NY and enjoy the luxury there. Mariah belongs to NY, the wannabe "Hollywood people" aren't good for her (well I guess for nobody). For me it always seems the more cash somebody has, the less happier the person seems because of many reasons. Of course not everybody. But there are so many rich people with depression and so on. Mariah has earned enough, she should start to live a good life with all the financial blessings without demonstrating "look at me, I'm rich". I wanna see her like "look at me I have everything I dreamed of, but to have free time with happiness is the true luxury".

Congratulations and all the best to a beautiful life. Melt Away will always be a special MC song to me and there is nothing like those low notes and that ending of "Baby I" is pure bliss. I actually think the combo of your two songs sounds really cool and I bet it ended really beautifully. Congratulations again.

I think the bosses are using Mariah's name to get Nicole to sign on. Nick left her for Mariah. Best believe those guys aren't above leaking a lie that would infuriate someone to get them to do what they want.

Re: Possible TM and MC reunion (75,213) (75,215)
by B from USA

I know these Tommy conspiracies are ridiculous. I have hope that Sylvia will tell Mariah she needs to update her signature and that Mariah releases a modern day Daydream/Butterfly hybrid. She said she was pouring her heart and soul into MIAM and it was her best album since TEOM. E=MC2 is a good album but her work with JD (with the exception of Thanx 4 Nothin') were weak attempts at recreating We Belong Together (Love Story, I Stay In Love, and Last Kiss). MIAM weakest song is Thirsty and it's at least enjoyable.

Agreed. Why resurrect the mess that was AI with a stint on X-Factor? Doesn't make sense. Marian's World was laughed at, why push further into reality TV? Focus on the music, dahling.
