Celine is extremely talented, but Mariah, imo, is that rare artist in pop music that oozes musicality. Even at her worst vocal era (2014-now), she still exhibits so much musicianship. Who else couldn't forget that amazing freestyle she did in Beacon, Christmas in New York? She doesn't play any instruments on stage, but at her best times, she is more than capable of using her voice like an instrument. At her worst Mariah could sound like a sad American Idol reject, or the funny failed auditions from X-Factor. One thing she lacks is consistency, especially now that her vocals seem to be at its worst. Celine has consistency in spades. It's because Celine truly knows how to take care of her voice nicely and has maintained her technique over the years. (Tuesday 14 March 2017; 16:02)

It is true her voice suffered some wear and year through the years. I am not sure but I think Mariah put out more albums plus she did more remixes to her songs where she had to redo her songs so the remixes sounds epic. Plus Mariah Carey is a prolific songwriter. Celine Dion never wrote any of her songs. Mariah Carey is a phenomenal singer and prolific songwriter. I love Celine Dion and think she has a great voice. Mariah Carey can match that plus people need to keep mind that Mariah has written 17 of her 18 number ones. She is second to the Beatles in number ones. Way to go Mariah. Mariah sold out all her venues in the UK and Johannesburg's back to back dates which is an arena with a 20,000 capacity. There were only a handful of shows that didn't sell well, not the whole tour. Mariah was forced to do 3 dates in Hawaii when she was only scheduled for 1 due to high demand. The sheer fact this tour did as well as it did is a bit shocking since she's not offering new music like the rest, doesn't put on "a show" opting for low-production, and was never an established touring act during her prime like everyone else. Your stats for Mariah's "worldwide" sales are only her US stats. The conspiracy theory that Lionel is trying to cover for low sales is debunked by the fact the new dates are for larger venues. Lionel has always offered discounts for his tours, this is nothing new. Of course nothing is sold out right now, the new dates were announced only a few days ago. Unlike Barbra and Celine who have stuck with their core audience base and come out once in a blue moon, Mariah has been making movies, starring on tv, and pushing her own cosmetics empire, and all the promotions necessary for each in between creating new music with concerts and appearing on TV. Her live Christmas Special on Hallmark turned in 2 million views in 2015. Mariah's World opened with 4 million views between TV and online when she originally pushed it as a behind the scenes of making music and tour creation.
