Article: Mariah Carey risks a very embarrassing slip (75,513) by Gemma from Australia
"sigh" I miss the 90's Mariah that dressed like a trendy singer with a little self respect so much, not this Mariah that dresses like nothing but a cheap prostitute who has 0 self respect. I mean what message does that send to her daughter? I personally think Nick should try and explain to Mariah that all this wearing slutty clothes is completely wrong when you have a six year old daughter who looks up to you and will probably one day dress like that, thinking it's ok for women to dress up like a hooker. *end of rant*

Sighs pt. 2 (75,512) by darrian liu from taiwan
My biggest fear as a lamb used to be Mariah slowly fading as a force on the pop charts and only having audience in Adult Contemporary formats. Now that situations seems like a land filled with butterflies and rainbows compared to this mess.

Re: Interesting LA Reid article (75,501) (75,511) by Bill from the UK
I could understand if the comments were about CB, as it didn't crack the top 50 in the UK, but TEOM was a top 10 and had one of the longest runs on the chart since Butterfly. It started as a top 10, hung around the mid 20s for several weeks, and then climbed back into the top 10. Her subsequent albums (and several before) were all pretty much a flash in the pan chart wise, where they enter and fall off completely after a month. TEOM was the only album of hers since the mid-90s that had any kind of chart longevity and which went up, down or maintained its position week to week. For comparison, Rainbow spent 4 weeks in the top 75, TEOM 43 weeks.

Re: Breakdown (75,493) (75,510) by darrian liu from taiwan
Basically every song in Charmbracelet and Glitter were like that lol. I disregarded them for so long because of the negative feedback both albums received from the public and fans, and at my first listen of both albums, I only liked bits and pieces of them. Now I can't stop playing Glitter and Charmbracelet.

Was Celine singing live? (75,509) by Ty from USA
Sounded somewhat prerecorded and raspy.

Celine Dion Billboard Awards (75,508) by B from USA
Her voice is damaged. She can no longer hit the notes like she used to. So it's time we stop claiming Mariah's the only singer who's voice has changed. And she just obviously lipped a prerecorded climax. Her ensemble was hideous.

Re: Media attention (75,496) (75,506) by Lila from United States
It's because, as Ribbon has said several times, that would be too much like right. Besides that, I'm not a psychologist but there's obviously something going on up there in Mariah's brain that's causing her to act in the way that she is. As said before, Mariah's not some Z-lister or unknown talentless person that has to resort to any and everything to get attention. She could choose to get attention in positive ways. She was just getting some with the family pictures, as you said she could do charity work, something good and yet she doesn't. I think there's something going on in the self-esteem department and probably a lot of other departments. She'd just rather give into it than get some help.

Re: Breakdown (75,493) (75,505) by Stacey from USA
I popped in the Butterfly CD yesterday and let it play. MC must have been going through some tough crap. That CD puts her feelings on full display. I felt so bad for all the crap she endured. Not now, of course, but I digress, lol. Like you, Breakdown played yesterday. What a masterful piece of genius there ever was.

Honey I shrunk the fanbase (75,504) by Lila from United States
Right now, on social media, I'm seeing more than a few of messages from fans who are officially leaving behind their days as a fan of Mariah's. Even if not leaving, a good chunk of the fan base is still really upset about these recent actions, many are feeling quite alienated at this point. The only thing Mariah has succeeded in doing with this ridiculousness, besides embarrassing herself and inciting ridicule which sadly enough doesn't even make me blink as it's so common at this point, I'm desensitized, is causing the fan base to shrink. I'd love to be proven wrong but I don't see 2017 happening for her with the route she's decided to take.

Re: Is she going to play the piano? (75,499) (75,503) by RibbonB from USA
I saw that preview where she sat but didn't play. I bet Jaimie Foxx will do the playing. This looks to be a cool new show.

Re: Interesting LA Reid article (75,501) (75,502) by RibbonB from USA
Well that is one theory, but highly unlikely that he was so concerned about Mariah's deal, but at least he gave her a nice party. Funny he calls Grainge a liar, but got offended when his ex partner Babyface asked for an audit of Laface records. Hilarious that he said he felt like Babyface's "sidebitch" after all that went down. Let's hope that years from now Mariah isn't saying IDJ and Reid ripped her off.

Re: Interesting LA Reid article (75,445) (75,501) by B from USA
I agree with Reid that Sir Lucian Grainge's claims that TEOM did poorly in the U.K.. Sure, it didn't do as well in the U.K. as it did in the U.S. but it was still considered a worldwide success and was the best selling album of the year. I also don't believe that he got nothing back from his supposed $6 million investment in the album. I don't think the sexual harassment suit had anything to do with Reid leaving Epic. I think he knew his days were numbered and he renegotiated Mariah's deal to ensure she wouldn't be affected by his departure and quit before he could be fired. I also think not getting to be the head of the company was why he did so. He thought he was the heir apparent and when they chose someone else he decided to walk away.

Re: Tanaka/MC dinner tonight (75,480) (75,500) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I've read all the messages here and I can only agree with all of you. Mara you're right, Crustella can also be called Steala. She's really stealing everything from Mariah. Everything what was/is so loveable and classy. The latest Tanaka pic is ridiculous. It's clear the kid or Crustella are behind that "idea". I know it sounds mean but it's hard to recognize Mariah. Thanks to Brat Ratner that he introduced the fake/devils-clan to Mariah. In the past Mariah wouldn't even look at people like that for a second. Trashy wannabes. That MC is also paying for this mess, I just can't understand.

Article: Mariah Carey risks a very embarrassing slip (75,498) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
This outfit is hideous and I see we are back to the "nip slips" and "thong flash" headlines. Even the Kardashians have moved on from these cheap stunts. Seriously what is that outfit? Just looking at it makes me uncomfortable.

Re: Mariah's World season 2? (75,489) (75,497) by Shezz from Pk
Didn't the show not do well? E is not stupid to renew a flopped show. Or so I hope. As much I love to blame the bollocks, all this mess is all M. She has chosen to become them. I can disconnect myself from her personal/social media life I just wish we weren't subjected to it. People like Wendy sound correct and justified now. Kardashians look classier now. Hell has frozen over.

Media attention (75,496) by Mara from United States
You know, what I don't understand is why all this constant shallow addiction to the media. The constant nightly dinners so she can be photographed. She has taken over for Kim K at this point. Going backwards instead of forward. I just dont understand the logic here. What has happened to her really? Has it ever occurred to them that she would get just as much if not more and classier media attention if she was photographed doing something "good" with her money. Throw on a damn t shirt, cover them up, wear a pair of decent blue jeans or better yet, joggers and do some charity. Surprise some kids who could use a moment in their life. Volunteer somewhere, get that photograph and coverage if that is what she so desperately seeks. At least she could be doing something good with her platform instead of this shallow "look at me with my diamonds and expensive bags, belts, cars". It is all so offputting and distasteful. She should pay a visit to camp Mariah and have Mishka snap a pic there. Sounds shallow, but my point is she might as well do good if she is so addicted to attention. Whoever said Mariah is throwing us the middle finger, I think is right. We noticed how the Russians have made such an impact in her style and mannerisms and I noticed someone online put a link to Mishka's instgram and she is drinking clinging glasses stating "cheers to the haters". I do think Mariah's attitude is very similar at this point. But enough with th useless pap photos, go do something beneficial. She is always the first to say she always wants to remind her kids how not everyone has all this and you have to work. It would help her image, respect, inner peace and her children.

Well with Stella advising her and gassing her up, we will be in store for "boobie-trap" music. Lol all boobs, basic lyrics and wack trap beats. Yassssss to the new queen of trap. Or will it be flop trap. Lol just entertaining myself.

Breakdown (75,493) by Licia from USA
Last night I developed a new appreciation for Breakdown. The song doesn't pop up on my playlist that often and when it does pop up I usually just skip it because I have to be in a certain mood to listen to it. It popped up last night and I decided to let it play. I listened to it three times in a row like I had never heard the song before. This song has to be one of her smoothest Rnb /Hip Hop infused songs imo. Everything just meshed together so well. The vocals and the raps are perfect. Anybody else have moments like this on any of her songs? Like you didn't fully appreciate a song until you heard it years later. I'm trying to steer my mind away from the mess and focus on what's most important so indulge me please. Lol.

Reality TV awards (75,492) by RibbonB from USA
Well Mimi will be lucky to get nominated for a reality tv show award for season one or two of Circus World. Meanwhile Bey has one a Peabody Award for Lemonade. Oh well maybe this is what Parkwood wants for Mimi's legacy too.

Most people on this board don't respect stunts with her highly paid employees, but I'm sure it will get her the attention that she wants.

Re: Media whore? (75,473) (75,490) by Lila from United States
It would be wonderful but I don't think it would happen. Look at what happened with the old crew. The moment Nick wouldn't play ball and use his relationship with Mariah to get her to do what they wanted her to do, he was public enemy number one and yes these people were wrong but ultimately Mariah was the one who indulged these people's words and stupidity instead of saying for them to [censored] off or be fired. Nothing points towards Mariah wanting to anytime soon grow up and get some actual help for her issues, so I don't see her letting go of Stella and company who indulge her unhealthy need for constant attention, unhealthy need for everyone to agree with everything she says and does lest her ego be bruised, and her unhealthy Peter Pan Syndrome. There's no way that Nick would last in the current climate. The first time he breathes in a way that they could construe as him being unsupportive of some dumb ass decision Mariah or all of them have arrived at or doesn't play the game they want him to, he'll, again, be public enemy number one. Mariah didn't choose him the first time around and, sadly, I don't think she would choose him the second time around, either. As far as managing, it wouldn't be a bad idea but Nick said that he didn't want business to cross personal in the podcast he did so I don't think he would ever manage Mariah, particularly if they were in a personal relationship. And when I think about it, that could very likely turn out to be a trip to hell, too.

Re: Mariah's World season 2? (75,467) (75,489) by RibbonB from USA
I suspect so and I thought at much, when last week or so she said never say never, but I'm not saying no. She really thinks this show is special. Oh well, I am over her fakeness and staged pictures of a private meeting in a restaurant. I have said before when Mariah wants to be private, she is private and not seen, when she wants to be seen she is with nip slips and thong flops and all. I'm going to try to leave this contrivance alone. Mimi likes the mess, but let's hope she makes good music maybe I will buy that.

Re: Tanaka's back (75,478) (75,488) by Lila from United States
They didn't say it directly but they hardly ever say anything in a direct and formal press release. They go through TMZ and they did the same when it came time to say that Tonka Toy was a gold digger and opportunist. TMZ and no other celebrity news outlet would've cared enough about him to report such accusations otherwise. As for him being her creative director, that's a stretch. Going by Mariah's World she only gave him the job of co-Creative Director to Anthony's Creative Director, when he was still there, because he broke his knee. Not the most inspiring promotion and who knows if it was ever written down contractually. Still, just because Anthony left, it doesn't mean he gets the top job and hopefully Mariah wouldn't be stupid enough to give it to him but if so it's not surprising.
