Re: LA out at Epic (75,174) (75,180) by T from USA
Exactly. Even if Mariah is game to still release the album she's working on, does everyone remember what happened with Glitter? Virgin records was going through some major management resructuring during that time period and Mariah didn't have any one real label head for guidence. This could end up being a big mess for MC.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey visits cosmetic surgery centre (75,175) (75,179) by Malcolm from Asia
Agree, she really needs a trainer again. This cosmetic thing is not really healthy and it doesn't help that her weight goes up and down especially at her age. She just doesn't look good and it's obvious that she doesn't really exercise at all. She must take care of herself, she's not young anymore.

Hey Terna can you elaborate on your last remark? Do you mean that he would have been fired because of MC's deal? Or did he leave because he didn't want to me associated with Mariah? I believe they are close. Do you think he could take the direction of Butterfly MC Records?

Re: Rediscovering (75,148) (75,177) by Edouard from France
Yeah Terna amazing song. It probably didn't fit in the whole concept of MOAIA. The song and vibe are great. Very trackmasters to me although it was produced with Timbaland. Reminds me of Head over Heals (Allure and MC) and ISB/Pure imagination because of the whole etheral ambiance and the light vocals.

LA Reid (75,176) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This is no surprise as his efforts have been marginal at best. I believe Sylvia Rhone will be his replacement who is another respected industry executive. Honestly speaking at this point Mariah needs someone who is going to make her put in that work and be hard on her so she can produce the best product possible. Mariah has become to comfortable with LA so as a result the output has been either poor quality or nothing at all. On another note Roger is pissed with Mariah over Stella and him being close to Cindi any chance gets nowadays he finds a way to kick Mariah's back in just an observation.

Article: Mariah Carey visits cosmetic surgery centre (75,175) by Andrew from UK
Whilst other people may worry about LA Reid leaving the label, I would say, of more concern, is what Mariah is planning on doing to her face or breasts next. In this article, she looks like a different person. She doesn't need another plastic surgeon, she needs a dietician and a trainer who won't take no for an answer. She definitely doesn't need an enabler manager and hangers-on telling her she looks great when she evidently does not. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is, is that if she were thin and attractive again, she would be of a lot more interest to the younger generation. And, thus, to the label. They look upon someone who is hot as marketable. [censored] It is imperative she do something about it. Image, music and attitude. If she concentrates on those, the label will back her. Right now, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she were dropped on her ass.

Re: LA out at Epic (75,170) (75,174) by Licia from USA
Reading some of the things about this situation is making me nervous. I want so badly for this to work out for her, but if she doesn't mesh well with these new people and she lets her unqualified manager/team deal with this, it could turn into a disaster. Cursing and women empowerment speeches will not save Mariah's spot on that label if this deal goes south.

L.A Reid leaving Epic (75,173) by Terna from Nigeria
This is bad news for Mariah and us Lambs. Especially if she doesn't get along with the new replacement. The reason for even being back at Sony/Epic was solely because of Reid and now he's out it's like back to square one for Mariah. What's gonna happen to her new label? I feel this is a direct attack on Mariah by those industry "powers that be". Could the label deal for MC be the reason he's out?

LA Reid replacement (75,172) by Jamie from UK
Wonder what would happen if LA's replacement was Tommy Motolla? Would Mariah be able to get out of her contract? Or would she accept his guiding hand again?

LA Reid out is bad news for MC (75,171) by T from USA
Do we need to remember what happened when LA Reid left Island/Def Jam? Barry Weiss (head of JIVE) came in and replaced him. Well it was clear from the get go that Mariah had no interest in working with him and stalled and delayed the album until he finally lost his post and she released it with Steve Bartles who she was semi okay with. Mariah is very untrust worthy and doesn't like working with people she's not comfortable with or feels who are trying to control her. This could mean a big delay for the 20th anniversary of the Butterfly album, new project. PS. Barry Weiss was instrumental with some of the biggest and most successful albums at his previous label and still Mariah wanted no part of his input, she even went as far as executive producing the album all by herself.

LA out at Epic (75,170) by Stacey from USA
I always felt LA was Mariah's safety net. If he was there she could pretty much do or not do what she wanted, like releasing I Don't with no notice or not really focusing on putting out a quality album. Maybe the newbies at the label will kick Mariah in gear. Mariah is a legend, but Epic is a business and businesses like to make money. They only care about what you've done for them lately. Get in gear MC, or you might find yourself without a deal.

Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,169) by Edward from USA
Since LA Reid was kind of too complacent with Mariah, I hope this new person light a fire on Mariah's ass so she could start being serious about her career and produce some great music, even if it's out of anger. She could deal with the anger taking some classes for management after the great success of the album. She's signed to a business, and they don't want to make a few coins every three or fours years. Waiting a hundred years to put music out with so many new acts coming left and right doesn't make sense, especially when your star is fading, just like what happened with everybody else. Nobody stays on top for ever. If Mariah were selling like in the 90's, a few years hiatus would be OK, but at this point in her career, she should be in the public eye, but not for perfumes and reality shoes, but for her music.

Re: Article: Mariah filming HBO documentary, "A butterfly in Vegas" (75,160) (75,168) by B from USA
I think this is (was) what Stella proposed to Mariah and why she agreed and unfortunately it led to Mariah's World because Stella wants so desperately to turn herself into the next Kris Jenner and Miskha into Kendall.

Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,167) by B from USA
She was wooing Mariah when she left Sony. Unfortunately, she was outbid by Nancy Berry and Virgin. I think she's a fan of Mariah's and I think unlike Reid she won't tolerate Stella which is a bonus since Mariah isn't going to chose Stella over her career, her craft. I think this move could be what's best for Mariah. I had hoped LA would be the one to help Mariah make a comeback but he allowed her to release Infinity and then made comments that showed he viewed her as only a legacy artist until recently and that was just an attempt to save his own career. If they do have to choose between Mariah and JLO Mariah will be the chosen one. Simply because she writes and produces her material which means they don't have to pay writers and producers huge fees for her.

L.A. Reid out at Epic Records, Mariah's deal in (75,166) by B from USA
I wasn't wrong when I said LA was banking on Mariah next album being a success. Unfortunately, he was fired before being able to orchestrate his and Mariah's third act. Hopefully, Epic is still going to make Mariah's next release a priority seeing as how the only viable act on the rooster is Future which might explain Mariah working with him.

Travon, nice seeing you around. I was just thinking about sending "Todd from Australia" to pay you a visit and make you post more often. I know that wigs, weaves, hats, fake boobs, and Sunday church dresses have been snatched here from time to time, but we're still here. Mimi L. even changed her continent, she used to be from Asia. Andrew has risen from the dead after all his many cyber-hangings and crucifixions. We have Stella posting as if she were from France, and then replying to herself with her other account where she's from Africa. See, everything is crazy, but we get along, sometimes. Lol.

Sylvia Rhone (75,164) by RibbonB from USA
Well perhaps Ms. Rhône will take over LA's spot at Epic. She was at Mariah's walk of fame event with LA. She seems to have some class, maybe she can convince Mariah to cut or limit ties with Stellar.

Wonder what LA's departure will mean for the new Butterfly MC label deal? Will it fizzle before even bearing fruit? Some reports are saying he was fired.

Re: Article: Mariah filming HBO documentary, "A butterfly in Vegas" (75,154) (75,162) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Let's be real, Mariah's World was never meant to be a Mariah tour documentary. It was meant to be a stepping stone for the Bulochnikovs show. I'm sure it was sold as a tour documentary to Mariah by saying "oh it'll be like that Beyonce documentary" but first of all Mariah would never be completely open and real in front of rolling cameras and secondly Stella probably later made it look like E wanted the drama and not Stella so they had to re-shoot shitty scenes. HBO on the other hand would have been a proper documentary and the HBO audience don't give 2 craps about Mishka living vicariously through Mariah's instagram and trying to get followers for her own and Stella being a mess of a manager who, had she gotten proper education, would know that there is a thing called time zone difference.

Re: LA is leaving Epic (75,153) (75,161) by Licia from USA
I don't know how I feel about this. I didn't like the idea of LA having to stand over Mariah and make her come up with great music, but when he did put his foot down with her we ended up with a great album. This new person may not be able to bring it out of her or motivate her musically. I can't say whether this is good or bad for Mariah.

Re: Article: Mariah filming HBO documentary, "A butterfly in Vegas" (75,151) (75,160) by Licia from USA
I still hope this could happen someday. This was the best idea ever. There's probably tons of footage from the SSFT and the Vegas shows that was cut because they wanted mess and drama.

Re: LA is leaving Epic (75,156) (75,159) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh yes, that's a good way of looking at it. I do wish she stepped out of her comfort zone and outside of the LA Reid and Jermaine zone, even though I love JD and he has made some great records with Mariah. I don't mind them working together but I'd really like her to venture out more. And yes this new person may bring her focus back on music by giving her the real and not worrying about ruining a personal relationship like she had with LA. Last but not the least, I hope Stella is the first to get a heave ho.

Hey Travon, miss you too dahlin'. Yes as long as Mariah's career is safe, I don't really care where LA moves. I also hope that this was known to her and not a sudden change because she did move to Epic to be with LA Reid. Excited for the new album, whenever it comes.

Re: LA is leaving Epic (75,153) (75,156) by Malcolm from Asia
We'll see if it will benefit Mariah. I think it's great that other person will take in charge of whatever Mariah is into because I feel that Mariah became too comfortable with the familiar faces that she works with so this can push her work ethic again and set a different tone for her. Who knows maybe this person can influence Mariah to fire that opportunistic woman, now it's a good news.
