Re: Her voice (71,001) (71,004) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha imagine if she used Mishka's voice. I would have a "on the bathroom floor" moment.

Re: Hiatus (70,991) (71,003) by Lannister from USA
Did you hear a different message than I did? And I mean that literally. I didn't hear her say anything about her dad or rough childhood in her twitter message. Are you referring to something else. And good for her for taking time for herself. She owes us nothing.

Editing the West Coast feed (71,002) by RibbonB from USA
Stella's demand that DCP edit the West oast feed is lame, because I live in LA and had already seen the footage when it aired on the East Coast via twitter and the links and trending topics were already in full swing. Editing the West Coast would have only confused things even more. She has herself to blame for not stopping Mariah's performance and demanding the equipment work. M. can only blame herself for not having a backup plan, besides backup dancers. I am so glad she is reflecting on this and hopefully her recent career choices. Best wishes to her and Roc and Roe.

Her voice (71,001) by RibbonB from USA
Glad she used her own voice, because with all of her social media surrogates the message would have been suspect.

The significance of the voice mail (71,000) by Tiina from Finland
I think this is a good sign. The fact that she wanted to speak to us directly like back in the day. Maybe Mariah is taking back control. Get some rest, Mariah, and use this time to reflect on your career.

Also (70,999) by Hilton from USA
It's sad to say that some of you on this message board are nasty and unbelievable and I am appalled at seeing people cheer on this behavior. Yet it's the same people who want Mariah Carey to get her shit together. The love is hard on here and sometimes you can feel it but some of you really are immature with the name calling and tantrums. SMH. Wow. Unreal and pathetic.

Sad (70,998) by Hilton from USA
It was nice to hear Mariah on a voice message once again. Brings back memories from the olden days. I must admit, regardless of what anyone says Mariah is a human being just like the rest of us. We all have seen how they've beaten her up over the years. Regardless of circumstances and anyone's opinion on whatever has happened to her, she has feelings and clearly she's hurt. I don't think Mariah has one bad bone in her body. Shit, we all live this life and make bad choices and go through the things. She's just like you and I. Everyone that wanted her to disappear, well this wish has been granted. I hope she comes back stronger than ever. Mariah, I love you and I will never forget the many times you saved my life. Love, Hilton.

Re: Is it the 90s? Voice message (70,995) (70,997) by Edward from USA
Exactly what she needs to do. She's been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, fake boyfriends, fake reality TV show, staged pictures. She should just take a break away from everything. Pull the plug on that reality show that shouldn't be mentioned, and rest and focus on her family, music and everything else. She must be reading some of the advice from the non sycophants people who really want the best for her, who really know she's capable of way better things, who think of her highly enough to let her know when things are not right. I for once want to miss her, I want to anticipate new music together with her reappearance, maybe with a new look and outlook on things. We'll be here waiting for you Mariah, as we've always been.

Mariah's new audio (70,996) by Lila from United States
Here we go. This shit is never going to end. Now Mariah has done an audio message where she says she was foiled and put into the hands of a production company with technical issues that capitalized off the circumstances. She's going to address the NYE performance in time and that's she's going to take a break from media and social media moments and be with her loved ones. That last part is a great idea but everything else, I need her to stop because when you take everything into account everything that has been said, it seems that, at the least, Mariah's team dropped the ball and, at the most, both teams dropped the ball. DCP had nothing to gain from trying to "sabotage" Mariah's performance, Mariah herself said that she did not sound check Emotions, and, according to Stella's version of events, DCP offered a joint statement. At this point, it just looks like desperation. Let it go.

Is it the 90s? Voice message (70,995) by Shezz from Pk
Wow that was so out of nowhere. The voice message on Twitter. Regardless of the subject matter the fact that she did that again after sooo long was great. And wow so maybe Stella does convey some of our messgaes to her. She wants to take time off and be with her loved ones and family (unfortunately who she considers family now we cannot control). So obviously this really got to her, maybe it'll help her rebuild herself. Write some more inspirational anthems perhaps. She feels victimized in how they handled it. Best thing to have done was to take a page out of Adele's book. Discuss it calmly on a major talkshow and sing the hell out of those songs live.

Mariah left Twitter message (70,994) by Licia from USA
So from this message she will really address the NYE mess when she's ready. She feels that DCP were trying to embarrass her and she's taking a social media break, but will still be fulfilling her contractual obligations and she looks forward to starting the tour in March. She also thanked all her industry friends and the real fans who have supported her.

Not fired (70,993) by Lila from United States
Anthony has done an interview with Access Hollywood. He says 1) he wasn't fired. 2) He no longer works with Mariah because his contract was up December 31. 3) Everyone was on the stage but he only comments that he did a sound check, no specific comments on any one else. 4) He knew something was wrong before the performance started but that he couldn't say too much because he's being hammered by some things so his legal team is basically like zip it. 5) He was floored to read that he had been fired but and for the reason given by Mariah's team. 6) If you watch Mariah's World you'll find out a lot of information of why things happen the way that they do. His comments on the NYE performance were the most interesting. It certainly sounds like something is going on there. I'm glad Anthony did the interview. Regardless of personal opinions of his divaness, he's good at what he does and has worked with some big stars. He doesn't need his record tainted by such an accusation, when it's not true.

Mariah's recorded statement (70,992) by RibbonB from USA
Well good for her. She is taking time off between now and her tour with Lionel to be with her family. I won't even worry about who she includes in that list. She said she will fulfill her obligations, but will be off of social media. I hope she makes adjustments and gets her head in the right space to move forward with whatever her plans are. I do hope she puts Stellar on mute during this time frame too.

Hiatus (70,991) by THE TRUTH from USA
So Mariah left an audio message talking about the "sabotage", her rough childhood, and how much she misses her dad and loves her Lambs. She's taking a break from media and social media to rest up for "her tour". Really? First I'm calling bullshit on the tormented childhood, that's a fiction. Second, she's addicted to the attention so I don't believe she'll be disappearing anytime soon. Finally, disappearing from social media? Who's she kidding? We all know who's been doing all her social media outreach. Oh yeah is "her tour" the Lionel Ritchie tour? Is that still on or is there something new in the works?

She is now doing a lot of stuff she said she would never do. Hopefully she picks up some of the potentially good things vs. just becoming a reality star.

Re: Tomas Mottola (70,968) (70,988) by Mirage from Unicornatopia
Completely agree. To ignore Tommy's success, and therefore invalidate his recent comments is a joke, especially when compared to the accomplishments, or lack thereof, of Stella. She is a thirst bucket, incapable of managing a star of Mariah's calibre. Tommy made many a star, not just Mariah. He even had the vision to see the appeal of The Fugees, who were massive in the mid 90s. People need to give credit where it was due. He saw Mariah's star potential, and when he realised how good she was at writing and producing he gave her the opportunity to showcase that to the world too, by becoming less reliant on others to create albums. Think of the amount of songwriters and producers on Daydream, and compare that to her recent efforts. It's no surprise that those albums sound more like Mariah people fell in love with.

Re: Tomas Mottola (70,976) (70,987) by Edward from USA
While Angelil managed her, guided her and supported her, he wasn't the one who brought Sony unstoppable machine behind her to support and develop her. Angelil was an instrumental part of the equation, but it wouldn't have happened were it not been for Tommy, the man was a beast. He helped build Celine from the ground up in her English singing career. I don't like Tommy as a person because his obsession with Mariah made him do crazy things that affected her deeply. By trying to coerce DJ's into not playing Mariah due to his huge influence back then and basically stealing the sample used on Loverboy before it was released, it was a hit below the belt, I had it with him. I do not like him, but I don't dismiss what he did for Mariah. Those who have read Damizza's book (approved by Mariah) would realize how she appreciated non sycophantic input. Neither Damizza nor Puffy was ever ass kissers with her either. I think the only other person who keeps it real with her is J.D., the rest, well, we see what has been going on for years now.

Re: Tomas Mottola (70,982) (70,985) by B from USA
Rene guided Celine's career. Tommy rewarded Walter for choosing him instead of Mariah by making him Sony's in house producer. I always found it weird that Celine worked almost exclusively with David Foster until My Heart Will Go On. However, I hate to say this but I agree with everything he said. Mariah should have never done a reality show and she needs a manager capable of managing a star of Mariah's caliber who has years of experience managing musicians and understands the industry. Walter won the 1999 Grammy Award for Record of the Year for producing "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion and the 2000 Grammy Award for Non-Classical Producer of the Year.

Re: Alpha-Tella? (70,978) (70,984) by B from USA
I have also experienced second hand embarrassment from (while) watching Mariah's World. When they showed her and BT reenacting the ending of the Honey video I cringed. I pray she doesn't do a second season of Stella's World. It's a staged incoherent mess. However, Mariah looks sane compared to the others. I think James Packer is gay and Mariah used him in a poor attempt to make Nick jealous or to prove that she wasn't lying when she told him she'd leave him for a billionaire.

The foundation of Mimi (70,983) by Edward from USA
Developing an artist career is the key to their success. It's like creating a solid foundation on which a skyscraper is going to be built. If the foundation is not solid, everything would eventually come crashing down. I'm happy Mariah had a great foundation. Mariah was being developed for two years, she wasn't a YouTube singer who was sent to the studio to record singles. She was paired with the best producers of that time, she was guided and taught so when "Mariah Carey" was released, she was not just an amateur. That's the way the music industry worked back then. Many acts would start seeing the results of this development usually after their third album, since it was the only way for record labels to recoup their investments. Mariah is sitting on nearly 10 year solid foundation that have kept her afloat one way or the other. Her voice along with her artistry, creativity, delivery and passion were carefully and meticulously delivered by exceptional management and a publicity machine behind like no other. I'm pretty sure that had Mariah gone all Hip Hop on us after her first album, she wouldn't be the star that she is right now. How do you describe an album like "Daydream", a masterpiece in my eyes. I'm happy things happened gradually, and not abruptly. "Butterfly" was a departure from her Mary Poppins image into a more sexy one, but it worked. It alienated part of her fanbase, but she had to grow and be true to her herself. As I said, there have always been great lyricists and vocalists out there, we see it in church, we see it on YouTube, but it takes more than that to make a star.

Re: Tomas Mottola (70,980) (70,982) by Edward from USA
For you information, Rene Angelil was Celine's Dion manager, but Tommy was the one who developed Celine's career in English. The same support and muscle he made sure Sony put behind Mariah, he did put behind Celine. Tommy wasn't just a manager, that's where your delusions keep you blind. Let me quote this for you to open those ears of yours (all caps): "Tommy Mottola is widely well known for developing, and nurturing the careers of Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Destiny's Child, Anastacia, Shakira, and the Dixie Chicks." While Rene was instrumental in Celine's success as an exceptional manager, advisor and husband, the big work was being crafted and put together by Sony led by Tommy, who was the one orchestrating everything. Celine was lucky to have Angelil by her side because he, unlike Alpha-Tella, made sure that whatever she got into was the best, but having an exceptional manager is not enough when you don't have the support behind of a the great team from a label. So, if there's a foolish person here is you, making it seem as if Mariah had many deals or offers when Tommy grabbed that tape and turned back, she was in talks with Wagner, but the fact she kept on looking tells you they didn't quite see what Tommy saw in her. I'm done with you and your delusions, so I'm not addressing any of your posts anymore because you lack objectivity, and I can't deal with people who live in a square box. Bye Terna.

Let me touch all topics, if I may (70,981) by Haiji Toro from USA
OK so I've been busy working, but never too busy to read this messageboard. Maybe it's the after hour drinks talking, but who cares, I've grown to love you all for your opinions and concerns (including you Eric). Imagine if we all knew each other personally and hungout? It would never be a dull moment lol. Let's get MW out the way. After the 3rd episode, I've only been able to get a quick recap from Mimi L, thank you for that, it saved me the time. Like I said before, it's whatever, and Molly turned out to be the star, let's wait for the spinoff. The whole thing seems unorganized with no substance. Even a KardashIan episode makes you interested in the next episode (not that I care for a reality-based scripted show like that or any other). I thought I was gonna get a behind the scenes look at her tour with extra personal footage, except I got the total opposite with an industry-controlled fairy tale. It's money, I get it. Like a previous post mentioned (sorry for not remembering the specific post or person), this is how she's paying her bills now. This is why I believe she hasn't released any music lately. Think of anything you're good at. Now think if at a certain low point in your life you weren't able to produce your best or maybe you knew people wouldn't respond to it well, would you even bother, or would you just try different things? We all know she's lost in a world that she created and no one even bothered to help her otherwise or tried to guide her in a better way. I don't care who you are nor how old you are, we all need help and guidance somehow. Again, like others have posted, we all go into work with a motive. To make money and progress no matter what. The difference is that we don't have a personal and close relationship with our bosses or head of company. Stella does. Therefore, her obligation and title as a manager and friend, is to make good decisions and improve betterment in MC. If you wanna be a savvy businesswoman and make money even at the expense of your client, then so be it, but don't be fake and promote friendship and woman empowerment. "Seein' right through you like you're bathin' in Windex." Not to mention, shame on MC for even allowing that or not even learning from past experiences. You may be 12 and all, but don't act brand new to the game. You can be known for so much good, but yet you're so easily manipulated. Work on yourself girl. How is it that 85% of your "lambs" are mirroring opinions and feelings along with the likes of Wendy William and Tommy Motola? Don't get me wrong, he was on point and keeping it 100%. But then again, hustle mode will always kick in and when you find an opportunity to get your name out there to sell a current book, I guess savvy is your foretay. As much as we all agree with you, what makes you think someone as prideful and resentful as MC is, especially when it comes to you, especially when her closest friend is the main one brainwashing and also managing her, will be fired or even put aside? We as fans, lambs and GP, see a whole different world that MC sees or even is exposed to. For all we know, she doesn't even know what's going on. I can picture it now, "Mariah, the world is talking about you. You are on fire. They love you. I love you. F*** the haters. They can lose our numbers. This is woman empowerment. I love you. We don't need anyone else. I love you." Lol. I do applaud how she handled NYE, it could have been worse, but not enough for me. Maybe if it was a different performer, like Britney or someone else. How is it that you can sing an ad-libbed conversation to the audience for almost 2-3 years but can't even just stop the music and bs your way through "Emotions"? Really? If confidence is what you lack then we get it, just take some time off. Do some more voice-over cartoon shows or movies, or just continue working on movies or behind the scenes, or whatever. Let the world miss you. I'm sure if it's meant to be, you'll get another comeback at the right moment. It won't happen until you humble yourself though. And may I say, must you need a man in your life to be happy? Aren't your children enough? Keep your personal sh** to yourself. Satan is known and a household name, don't mean it's a good thing. If conspiracies are true, then I pray you truly didn't sell your soul to the the devil, all for some dirty money that I'm sure you didn't need. You guys can trace my past comments and surely know I'm not one to spew negativity, but it's time for intervention. Obviously, we all have a type or extent of caring for her, so we're all in the right to express ourselves, even if we don't agree. Isn't that the point of this board? I'll leave this Kanye-inspired rant at this. I'm sure there's a lot more I can say but you guys express it so much better, plus the booze are wearing off and the melatonin is kicking in. Got a shift in the morning. I pray you all had a great holiday, a wonderful 8 days of 2017 so far, and many more blessings to come. Face your fears, overcome hardship, don't take your life for granted, money is only temporary fulfillment, beauty lives inside us, at the end of our lives all we leave it all behind, so make it worthy and a resource for those left behind. God bless and have a great year.

René Angelil (Celine Dion's late husband) and Tommy Mottolla are two very different people young man. [...] was René who made Celine Dion the superstar she is today. That had absolutely nothing to do with Tommy. I suggest you get your facts straight before you come on here in your bid to hate but instead make yourself look real foolish. Smh.
