Do you really think Mariah needs to attend a sound (70,621) by Edouard from France
Do you even know what a soundcheck is? She doesn't need to do that after 25 years of career. She sang Emotions and We Belong Together about 200 times last year. Someone can do the soundcheck for her, check there actually is a mic feed, check the balanced according to how Mariah likes it. That's it.

I'm glad to see (70,620) by Edouard from France
Stella is speaking out. Mariah has always been quiet (both out of respect and also because maybe she knew she couldn't win against labels, companies and so on). She never said anything when people stole her concepts, try to put her down, etc. She is a legend and I'm glad to see that she has surrounded herself with people who are willing to protect her and make it clear that she can't be toyed with and deserves respect from the ones who feed of off her career (like DCP compagny).

Mariah's a pro (70,619) by Edouard from France
Okay I get it everybody's upset. I've watched what happened many times and right from the start I could see that Mariah couldn't hear a thing. I believe she was very pro. Let me explain:
1. She stayed on stage. Some other artist would've cursed, stormed out, etc.
2. She tried to sing but clearly gave up singing when she realized she couldn't hear herself at all and that her attempt would've sounded horrible and not in sync with the track. She chose not to sing because she's such a great singer (and c'mon her perfomances in 2016 show this clearly). Emotions is not a hard song to sing for her and she does sing the high notes live on top of the recorded track.
3. Then when they started to play WBT she made it clear that it was the album track (she even says it). And she tries to sing along (you can hear it if you pay attention).
4. [...] She didn't fake it. She refused to sing WBT in playback. She didn't even try to convince us. And I think that was very smart and honest. I applaud her for that. And she did it look amazing (Butterfly era style) and with attitude and a smile.

Billboard article (70,618) by THE TRUTH from USA
Basically one thing is certain: if and it seems to be evident there was a problem with Mariah's monitor and it was her tech teams responsibility then clearly and obviously it was not sabotage or rather it was self sabotage by Mariah who decided that she was too fabulous to go to her own sound check.

GMA sitdown rumour? (70,617) by Shezz from Pk
Mariah, now Brazil is reporting that she will be going to GMA tomorrow to talk about what happened. Has anybody read anything official about that? If she does it will be the first correct step in ages. I hope she does and is honest and humble. Better than the WW3 stella is starting.

Re: Article: Mariah's team claims singer was sabotaged to get ratings (70,587) (70,616) by WeiLee from United States
What does Stella get out of sabotaging Mariah's performance for higher ratings on Mariah's World? Just curious. [Webmaster: Read the article. Stella claims it was sabotaged by ABC to get higher ratings for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest".]

Re: Stella blaming ABC and Dick Clark's Production (70,608) (70,615) by Musti from UK
I was thinking about the same thing. It is not a good look to publicly blame production companies. Now they can forget about Dick Clarke's future NYE productions, just like Rockefeller. In all honesty I don't think this whole mess was Stella's fault. A manager is supposed to be a jack-of-all-trades type of person. Earpieces or monitors are neither her business nor her expertise. It's tempting to blame Stella for everything and even though I don't like the woman I can't blame her for something that likely wasn't her fault. But her attitude issues are unacceptable. If they wanted to issue a joint apology and Stella refused, she has not empowered anyone by doing so. And blaming them in this manner is a very stupid move. Mariah's career is on the line now more than ever. She should use the first couple of months of 2017 to really decide what she wants to do and review the efficiency of her team. I'm not sure if she has any chances of recovery after 2 years of constant public self-humiliation, but if she does it will probably be her last chance. She should use it wisely.

Re: Scared to sing? (70,574) (70,614) by WeiLee from United States
So it wasn't the network that dubbed her Madison Square Garden vocals? This I never knew. How did you find out?

Why are people so angry? (70,613) by Danny from Uk
I get it Mariah messed up live in front of millions when it was an opportunity to move her career and everything she has worked for in 2016. I tbink Stella is in for the money and Mariah is in for the fame and her children and to enable them to have the life's they deserve, as a mother in the spotlight and part of a golden era she wants the same for them which is understandable being Mariah Carey's children was never gonna be the norm and they seem happy. Some people are suggesting she retire which is absurd we all know that isn't Mariah and why should she? Yeah she will be mocked over it but she's still Mariah Carey. Her name will always carry weight and bookings whatever happens and her career is not over for goodness sake it's taken a hit but people like a hero and a story and will embrace her comeback if she does it right. I think Stella is very immature and surrounds her own self with yes people or fires them if they don't mould to her shape which, tbh, sounds like she's done MC a favour but she needs to be careful she doesn't alienate her as I sense MC really relies on her. Mariah needs to cut down a little on the boobs not because of prudish but more so people can't keep writing about them also she needs to release new music even if it bombs she needs to use her creative outlet and record something about the last few years and her experiences then do a live show and try to get some new awards which will help bring her back to the light. It's all pie in the sky but whatever she does she needs to keep going forward not retire or quit that's not in her nature and without a creative output she will always be unhappy.

Re: I still love Mariah (70,578) (70,612) by WeiLee from United States
You described my feelings perfectly. I know I couldn't have explained this at all. I never gave it a second thought that Mariah should fix her team and life because I don't really know how Stella and her team really are. I only saw like 2 episodes of Mariah's World. This only brought the haters out and let them diss Mariah. Even I feel sad, angry at haters, upset, and I don't know what else I can say to defend her. I read some posts from the message board about how a few people stopped defending her because they are tired of how she acts, lazy and not the legendary hard working Mariah from the 90s. So I don't know if I should continue reading all the horrible comments on YouTube about Mariah. I don't think I can reply to haters anymore. I apologize to typing all my thoughts on to your comment. I just have so much to say after discovering this site and reading every fans great input (the comments are the kind of things Mariah needs to know about) on this situation.

Re: Stella blaming ABC and Dick Clark's Production (70,598) (70,608) by Licia from USA
Now since DCP are being blamed, Mariah more than likely won't be invited back. I don't know who's really the blame on either side, but slinging mud and burning this bridge is a huge mistake. A more competent team would have been able to smooth this over in a way that would not cause Mariah to potentially lose such a huge platform like this. A competent manager would have said "We don't know where the problem started on either side, but DCP and team Mariah are looking into it." That's a simple statement that throws neither side under the bus.

Rachel Mcintosh (70,607) by Jimbob88 from UK
Does Mariah's dancer Rachel still work for her? I haven't seen her at all in the new series and juding by FB she's not traveling with Mariah. What's going on? Maryann Tatum deleted me from FB for complaining about the Mariah's World website. What a tempremental baby. She may be talented but she needs to grow up.

Re: New Year performance (70,593) (70,606) by Licia from USA
I have watched the performance several times. She didn't sing at all. My ears work fine and so do my eyes. It's you who needs to head to a doctor because you're obviously deaf and blind. Silly definitely describes you and your arguments. Just get over that you're wrong and have a nice day sir. Lol.

At least remove the pre-recorded whistles? (70,605) by John from Italy
The thing that bothers me more are the pre-recorded whistles. Why the sound engineers didn't mute the track with the whistles? They could put that track again if Mariah intended to restart singing. It has been carelessly revealed to the whole world the exact parts she usually lips synchs, breaking the magic (or revealing the imposture, if you prefer). However, I would really like to know what Mariah was hearing at that time - to understand if she was in a condition where nobody (not even the most consummate performer) would be able to perform at all, or if she, frightened by a small hearing problem, got caught by insecurity and simply gave up. It would be nice if she explained in technical terms what happened. She was astonishgly beautiful though.

Memoir of a NYE disappointment (70,604) by Brad from USA
It was time for the ball to drop, a new year to come around. My life didn't really say "celebrate", but rather a more pragmatic "you should really get some sleep, you have a long day tomorrow". The only reason to turn it on was to see her, Mariah - a woman I have loved in varying forms since 1990. When they announced her, I cheered, even when alone, as I always do, and even if I must do it silently in my own mind. I listened to the first part, at first not recognizing it from a prior NYE performance she did on a rooftop in Manhattan. I clapped - could this be live and is Mariah about to give us the type of performance I have been so lucky to witness in person many times before? The music changed, it was time for an upbeat and hopefully confident and smiling Mariah to enchant us. It was not to be. Gone. Seemingly there and then not. As I watched, I recognized the sarcasm that masks her pain. Camouflage. How much hurt she has known. This to be ever more. They then carried on while she was left behind, alone on life's roadside to cure her own wounds. My heart broken again, for her, and for us who take pride in her and the standard she once reached. I have no shame for that pride then - she was it. My loyalty unending to get to this day - though there were valleys I bridged along the way. And from here? I must protect my own heart, my pride, my sense of a standard. And have hope that this woman I have carried love for, so openly, will do the same as she comes to terms with what her life currently says to her.

Stella's attitude (70,603) by Tiina from Finland
Is not helping. She comes across as paranoid and rude. Stop pointing fingers. The last thing we need is a war with a TV network. And you need to stop swearing. Stella clearly does not know how to represant a star like Mariah. I also think it's really arrogant to say stuff like "Mariah was the biggest star there, she did them a favor". Not a good look.

Re: Mariah's career (70,525) (70,602) by TJ from Norway
I actually think she should take at least 5 years off, just to let the kids go to one school, let them make friends and experience a "normal" world. She once said that she didn't want her future kids to grow up in the light of showbiz, but that's what they are doing right now. Look at all the screwed up kids of famous people. While taking a long public break she can make good lyrics and melodies, don't use samples, but make something that is her own (or decide to just retire for good).

Re: Professional? (70,563) (70,601) by Lara from Middle East
Exactly, has she done that, it wouldn't have been that big story. She seems scared to sing live and doesn't trust her voice so she keeps hiding behind the "ensembles" and "choreography". Her attitude (or team) after the fiasco doesn't help either.

How? (70,600) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
See what I don't get is how were the dancers able to nail their routines to the music but Mariah couldn't hear any music? In times of Mariah crises, I always dive into collecting and adding to my Mariah collection. All of you need I go on eBay or Amazon and buy a music box poster or I still believe promo and "relive the splendor". If she is delusional then join her and get lost in what she used to be. Oh, how many of y'all had family and friends blowing you up because they all know you're a Mariah Stan?

Re: Getting through to Mariah (70,586) (70,599) by Gigi from USA
This is a great idea and please tag/hashtag her friends: Da Brat, Rachel, L.A. Reid, Patti LaBelle, Josefin, Jermaine, DJ Suss One, DJ Khaled, Lionel Ritchie, Shawn (not sure if this is a useful tag or not, as he seems to go with the flow), Jasmine, Brett Ratner (I know he use to be friends with Stella, but I haven't seen him around since the Packer split), etc. If the fans can't reach her, I'm hoping at least one of her friends can (if they truly care). Fingers crossed.

Re: Stella blaming ABC and Dick Clark's Production (70,577) (70,598) by Dustbin from USA
Well said. As always your comments are well balanced and real. I believe something technical happened but I also believe she was there to lip. I could tell when she did the interview with Ryan that her voice was hoarse and I thought oh here we go with another lipped performance. She neeeds to prove to everyone she can still sing. Make (positive) headlines again and fast. Stella hasn't done much damage control yet because she doesn't know how.

Perhaps bombard the MW twitter. They probably want the traffic, so they might not block people. Piers Morgans Daily Mail post has over 4k comments and 99% of the ones I read were bad. This might be the sinking of the ship part that Eddie Morales wrote about. Funny how the team that left seemed to already know the script and did not approve.
