Both Mariah and Lindsay Lohan recently did vow renewal ceremonies under the Vatican. Do the math.

My favorite "version" of Mariah is TEOM era. Although she was sweet, I found 90-95 Mariah's personality boring and suppressed. To this day I still almost never watch interviews from that era because I know she wasn't being herself. TEOM era was perfect. She wasn't just happy. She had a spiritual joy that radiated from her. She embodied the lyrics of Can't Take That Away. She was grounded, humble, secure, grateful to have such a successful comeback and the diva antics were infrequent enough to actually be fun. Even a hater couldn't help but like her back then.

How I miss that Mariah too. It's interesting that you mention the Christmas album. Her voice were really amazing and so clear. There are many songs where I could cry because of the wonderful voice. And yes I loved her natural look. That was real. But that was at a time people weren't as superficial as today. I'm so happy to grew up with MTV and co. and got to see real superstars with talent not only entertainers that look cheap and trashy.

I am so over talking about Mariah's current state. It is nowhere near the shy but bold mature woman we knew in 1993-1995. I miss that Mariah, but that is just beating a dead horse. I feel selfish saying that because that was when she was a prisoner. Anyway, the vocals on the Merry Christmas album was her voice at her finest. I still have never heard crystal clear, well pronounced, strong vocals like that on any other album. It always reminds me of my childhood, my father, and happier times. And that is why I will always love Mariah Carey. Forever.

Article: Mariah Carey to perform at sold-out Israel show (65,403) by RibbonB from USA
This article from last year is very telling. Especially when M. says she heard about boycotts of Israel, but she does what she wants to do and doesn't get into people's political agendas. But the reason she went to Israel was James and his connection to Netanyahu the leader there. IDK, but it would seem a good idea to stay away from political hotbed locations, especially bringing your children along, Here's an article about how J.P. became besties with the Israel leader. His ties are usually financially motivated and he often dances along to different religions if it fits his financial purposes like he did with Scientology, until their position on gambling pushed him away. Now he is trying to invest in Israel. I still say follow the money in all of this distraction.

Re: Article: Mariah Carey's underrated sophomore album turns 25 (65,400) (65,402) by B from USA
They say that once a person reaches a certain level of stardom they become a caricature of themselves. Liz Taylor, MJ, and Britney are examples. Thankfully, Mariah plays with her image and is in on joke. I think it's a defense mechanism she adopted after the Glitter debacle. I'm not making excuses for the splashes or the ensembles though.

Article: Mariah Carey's underrated sophomore album turns 25 (65,400) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
"Mariah wouldn't completely liberate herself from the fetters of everything she believed was holding her back until 1997's Butterfly, and has since strained to maintain an equilibrium in terms of both her music and image, often slipping into caricature."
Truer words have not been spoken. This pretty much sums up not only her image these days, but her as a person, period. More and more people are finding it difficult to believe that the hitmaker they loved back then and the Kardashian she has pretty much oscillated into these days are one and the same person. No wonder there are crazy theories floating around of "the real Mariah" dying/being abducted at some point and then being replaced by this whole other person. I hope we don't get to a point where such outrageous speculations start to sound more comforting than the reality that is.

Article: The 27 songs to spend at least 10 weeks atop the Hot 100 (65,399) by Kelley Keenan from USA
Correction: We Belong Together was not the first single off of Emancipation album. They said here that the longest running #1s were lead singles on the albums. Not true for either of Mariah's top 2 songs. That just goes to show another example of how Mariah is better than everyone. Just saying. [Webmaster: The article says: "The longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1s have often been first singles from albums." Not "always". It also says: "One Sweet Day (a record 16 weeks at No. 1) was the second single from Mariah Carey's Daydream."]

Re: Relevant? (65,397) (65,398) by RibbonB from USA
We may never know the real meaning behind all of this, but Stellar is friends with Brett and James and James supposedly thinks highly of the whole idea and he also is playing along with their Stellar chaperone/hangerson to Mariah for the past year and contracturally into the future with Hallmark movie contracts. Stella is a show producer and takes a totally different approach with TI and Tiny's show. Maybe Eddie Morales with spill some more tea, because he seems to think there is something seriously wrong with Stella and her crew. Perhaps more will be revealed on this reality show. It's all a mess, and M is deep in it. I have said that M is hedging her bets with someone to blame if it all goes up in flames. She can pretend that she doesn't like reality shows, that she is too private and too proud, but she is dancing with the devil it seems. So to speak, lol.

Re: Relevant? (65,396) (65,397) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Even with Brett's connection, doesn't it make you wonder? Mariah is not a new celebrity, she isn't someone who just joined this. She has been in this industry for 25 years. Not only that she hasn't had the smoothest ride either. She has seen how bad people can be and how people have tried to manipulate her. So then suppose Brett suggested Stella, as Mariah, wouldn't your first question be like "Oh ya? What's her background, has she managed anyone before?" Actually scrap that, the question should be "Who (all caps) has she managed before?" not "has she managed anyone before?" because over here only Mariah has everything to lose. Not Brett. Not Stella. Not only does Stella not have any musical background or even have any experience from the mainstream movie industry (I'm including movie industry, because MC says she was interested in acting too), she is mainly from cheap reality show background (key word "cheap", not because I'm putting all reality shows in the "Cheap" department, but the ones that Stella has been a part of were never that big). It's not like she was a part of KUWTK, or "American Idol" or heck even "The Bachelor". Plus Mariah has made is clear that she doesn't like reality shows in general. Then why? It's not like Brett came with a suggesting about hiring a new nail technician (who would play a really small part, almost negligible part in her career). If Brett or anyone suggested someone who would play a very small part, I can understand Mariah not caring about experience. But a manager is a very important position. Not only that Mariah has basically given her her PR role to Stella too now that The Chambers Group is out of the picture. So it baffles me really. I fail to understand what was Stella's selling point. Maybe Mariah liked her personality when she met her? Well in that case have her as your friend. Don't just hand over your image, your career, your finances and legal issues to someone and their family you don't even know well. So it remains a big mystery why Mariah said yes. No matter who suggested it, she was the one who called the shots.

Re: May from Denmark (65,322) (65,394) by May from Denmark
It's fine to disagree. The fashion outlook is at the end of the day a very subjective one. I don't care about the age to be honest, I'm not those people who think "dress according to age". For me it doesn't rub. I love Iris Apfel, Baddie Winkle, Betsey Johnson, Tara McPherson. They are all women who don't care their age, they wear and look the way it makes them happy, I admire their determination even if sometimes I don't agree with some of their fashion, I always liked that about Mariah, she is bold and stands her ground. She is always on a fashion rollercoaster, I can practically by now expect anything from Mariah. If people laugh at others because the way they dress and look they are not nice people, really should Mariah accomodate herself to fit the ideal some mean people want her to be, just so she can "socially fit" her age? I don't like some of her choices but I don't think she should ditch the sexy and bare skin because she is 46. She may do it in other ways but still, I don't think that Mariah dressing as a lawyer or journalist will make the mean people stay at bay and not ridicule her. Now that she finally is physically fit people are finding other things to try to put her down.

Yes here is to good music in the future. I am definitely not interested in her wedding drama or the "Copykartrashians" aka the Bulochnikov's.

Re: Relevant? (65,390) (65,392) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I honestly will never understand why Mariah hired Stella in the first place. Let's leave aside all of Stella's cheap antics. Let's just first and foremost focus on the fact that Stella has had absolutely no experience managing any Hollywood celebrity, let alone someone as big as Mariah. Her entire background comes from reality show productions. I'll put aside my feelings about that. So what exactly made Mariah think that this person will be able to really bring some drastic improvement to her career? She could hire anyone in the world. With all the experience in the field she is good at. I just don't get it. Then to hand over her finances and legal matters to members of the same family? This is one of the most baffling moves ever.

Re: Texting before "Faded" (65,381) (65,391) by Licia from USA
Mimi L. that's exactly what I want from the docu/reality show. I want them to focus on her as an artist. I honestly don't care about her wedding or her divaness. People doubt her as a singer. This is her moment to remind people that she's still a great singer. I can only hope that drama will take a backseat to what really matters.

But Mariah participates in those leaks by allowing it and probably hired her because of her style. Mariah also allows the drunk pictures and poses in them or is really drunk. Lol.

Cry. and Camouflage aren't boring. Especially if you apply what was going on in Mariah's personal life at the time. In a review of Butterfly I read the author wrote to understand the brilliance of Mariah's lyrics (music) you apply her pop music to her pop life. These songs are heartbreaking.

Re: Relevant? (65,383) (65,385) by B from USA
Mariah manages Mariah. However, these leaked moments are Stella's bread and butter. She always releases stories to TMZ before one of her series premieres. She didn't make Mariah relevant. Mariah back catalogue has kept her relevant.
